On this day, ex-Celtics Jerryd Bayless, Si Green, Quinn Buckner are born
New Post has been published on https://bestcustomjerseys.com/on-this-day-ex-celtics-jerryd-bayless-si-green-quinn-buckner-are-born/
On this day, ex-Celtics Jerryd Bayless, Si Green, Quinn Buckner are born
On this day in Boston Celtics history, point guard Jerryd Bayless was born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1988. Bayless would play his college basketball with the University of Arizona Wildcats for one season before entering the 2008 NBA draft, where he was selected with the 11th overall pick by the Indiana Pacers.
The Phoenix native would never suit up for the Pacers, trading to the Portland Trail Blazers for Jarrett Jack, Josh McRoberts and Brandon Rush shortly after the draft. He would also play for the (then) New Orleans Hornets (now Pelicans), Toronto Raptors and Memphis Grizzlies before the latter team sent Bayless to Boston in a deal that sent guard Courtney Lee.
Bayless would play just one season for the Celtics, playing in 41 games and starting 14 of them.

He averaged 10.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists while with the Celtics, and left for free agency the next summer to sign with the Milwaukee Bucks.
It is also the birthday of former Celtic guard Sihugo Green, born in New York, New York in 1933.
A product of Duquesne, Green was the No. 1 overall pick in the 1956 NBA draft, taken by the (then) Rochester Royals (now the Sacramento Kings).
The New Yorker would play for the Royals after their move to Cincinnati, the St. Louis Hawks before they moved to Atlanta, and the defunct Chicago Packers, Zephyrs and also defunct Baltimore Bullets before joining the Celtics in a 1965 trade.
In the final stop of his career, Green averaged 3.2 points and 1.1 rebounds per game as a Celtic, retiring afterward.

Finally, it’s also the birthday of former Celtic guard Quinn Buckner, born today in 1954 in Phoenix, Illinois.
Buckner played college baseball with the Indiana Hoosiers, where he would win an NCAA championship, and was selected seventh in the 1976 NBA draft by the Bucks.

He would be traded to the Celtics in 1982 for famed center Dave Cowens, and win a title in his second of three seasons with Boston.
The Indiana product would average 4.8 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists, traded to the Indiana Pacers in 1983.

Data Driven Sports/ShotTracker Announces Automated Content Products To Drive Engagement And Revenue
Data Driven Sports (DDSports), the parent company of ShotTracker, today unveiled an exciting suite of new products to support digital publishers and broadcasters in engaging and monetizing college basketball fans this upcoming season. Leveraging the ShotTracker’s unique, real-time player and ball tracking data, combined with automated content and analytics platforms, DDSports now offers three innovative products designed to efficiently increase sponsorable content for its clients:
Automated Visualizations – customizable graphics with sponsor integrations designed for easy publishing to broadcast/OTT, digital, social and in-venue signage.
Insights Engine – AI-powered trends and streaks to drive game storylines and data-driven sales campaigns.
3D Gamecast – animated ball and player graphics powered by real-time X-Y-Z location data, designed to allow out-of-market fans to watch their team live, and for all fans to relive exciting game moments.
The three new products will be available for all men’s and women’s games across top NCAA Division 1 conferences where ShotTracker is installed, and will include unique, data-driven brand activation capabilities. “Our goal is to provide turnkey solutions to leading sports broadcasters and digital publishers to make the integration of ShotTracker data as streamlined and seamless as feasible,” said Davyeon Ross, DDSports/ShotTracker Co-Founder and President. “We commit to innovating and creating digital products that drive new revenue while also streamlining the content production process.”
For information and demos on ShotTracker products for Broadcasters, please visit: https://shottracker.com/media
For information and demos on ShotTracker products for Digital Publishers, please visit: https://shottracker.com/publishers

Automated Visualizations
Leveraging the robust ShotTracker Data API, and through its partnership with IMPACT, a leading automated visualization platform, ShotTracker data will come to life in dynamic graphics designed for use across broadcast/OTT, digital, social and in-venue signage. Graphics that once took hours to produce will now be automatically generated. Broadcast customers will have access to a user portal that will allow for design, data points and sponsor customizations. Product benefits include more content, lower production costs and greater advertising revenue.
Insights Engine
Realizing the increasing need to grab fans’ attention and keep them engaged, ShotTracker has partnered with Inside Edge, a leader in sports analytics, to develop a cutting-edge platform to produce instant insights from ShotTracker’s robust data set. Broadcasters and digital publishers will now have real-time access to unique streaks and trends that once took hours to manually derive. This innovative platform will not only drive engaging storylines for announcers and writers, but will also support high-value sponsor activations.
3D Gamecast
Since many fans do not have access to live game broadcasts, and because game highlight rights are often complex and limited, ShotTracker has developed a real-time visual representation of every second of game action for all ShotTracker-enabled men’s and women’s games across top NCAA Division I conferences. Fans will have the option to watch an entire game or to select key game moments. With ShotTracker’s X-Y-Z data stream, game action comes to life in a more engaging visual representation than the traditional 2D products in the marketplace. Developers can use ShotTracker’s Gamecast SDK to customize design as well as advertiser integrations.

Google is acquiring GIF platform Tenor
Google will be acquiring Tenor, which powers a variety of GIF keyboards on phones and messengers like Facebook Messenger, the companies announced today.
Tenor will continue to operate as a separate brand within Google, the company said in a blog post. Tenor has increasingly positioned itself as a search company, using that as a metric for engagement and success as users tap into a massive database of GIFs. The company said it has more than 12 billion searches every month, and is one of the first major exits for a small but relatively hot space around tools that allow users to easily share GIFs. The company works with advertisers to create sponsored GIFs that slot into its searches, which are usually pretty compact and offer an opportunity to generate a lot of engagement.
GIFs have increasingly been pretty interesting because they offer an opportunity to compress a lot of information into something that’s easily shareable. Tenor CEO David McIntosh will often say that the company is about conveying emotion — and really, that isn’t something that often goes very well over text. If you’re watching the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament, you’re probably better off searching for a GIF of your team rather than just blasting a text message to your group of friends.
“With their deep library of content, Tenor surfaces the right GIFs in the moment so you can find the one that matches your mood,” Google Images director of engineering Cathy Edwards said. “Tenor will help us do this more effectively in Google Images as well as other products that use GIFs, like Gboard. Tenor will continue to operate as a separate brand, and we’re looking forward to investing in their technology and relationships with content and API partners. So whether you’re using the Tenor keyboard or one of our other products, you can expect to see much more of this in your future:”
When you open Tenor, you’ll only find a small slice of GIFs that are available as the company is looking to compress the amount of time you actually spending digging around for a GIF you want to share. The theory is that if it’s easier to find and share one, you’ll do it again and again. This isn’t dissimilar from Google’s approach either, offering itself as a utility that’s a quick get-in, get-out experience that builds a level of stickiness that’s hard to unseat. Google is, of course, worth hundreds of billions of dollars off the back of a massive advertising business that basically prints money.
Tenor isn’t the only one in the space. Giphy, for example, also has a GIF keyboard and has a pretty large database of GIFs. Giphy says it has 300 million daily active users, though depending on who you talk to in the Valley that can mean a couple different things. Nevertheless, all of these companies have been able to attract venture financing. There’s also Gfycat, which positions itself as a tool for creators, that says it has 130 million monthly active users.
The terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. But by positioning itself as a search company that slots into a messaging ecosystem, Tenor seems like a natural piece of the puzzle for Google. It also gives the company a small wedge into the messenger space as it’ll have an opportunity to touch all the platforms that are connected to Tenor like even Facebook messenger, though that one tends to flip between GIF platforms indiscriminately.

A Tiger Woods viewing guide for the 2018 Arnold Palmer Invitational

PGA Tour ratings are soaring and there’s one very specific reason why. This week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational should be another boost.
The PGA Tour is rarely, if ever, going to come close to competing with the NCAA Tournament. The tourney is one of the two or three top events in sports. It’s a national appointment and rightly so.
But golf, or more accurately, Tiger Woods, might throw some jabs at the heavyweight NCAA tourney this week. Happy days are here again for the PGA Tour ratings, thanks exclusively to Mr. Woods. Last week’s Valspar Championship, which was once a sleepy and forgotten stop on the Florida swing, landed the biggest rating of any non-Masters round in the last two years. That includes the final rounds of the last two US Opens, British Opens, and PGA Championships.
If you’re a network executive, you’re happy about the big number but the Valspar, based solely on Tiger, exceeding the game’s biggest events also should be a little disconcerting, no? The Valspar’s final round on Sunday, with Tiger contending for his 80th win on the PGA Tour, landed a 5.1 rating. That was the strongest sports broadcast of the day, blowing out the Selection Show, Nascar (2.7), and the NBA on ABC (1.8). Tiger’s Saturday round, which probably turned the mania up the highest of the week during a birdie run that put him in the lead, also set records for a third round.
Now Tiger is back and at a place that he’s owned throughout his career. Last week’s runner-up finish has everyone wanting more Tiger, and given his form, he’s now the favorite by a wide margin to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Tiger has eight career wins at Bay Hill but he’s not played here since 2013, which he won. The absence has come due to a mix of injuries and the chipping yips break. In the intervening years, we lost the host, Palmer, and Woods indicated that this would be an extra special week at a special place for him.
The player we’ve seen in his last two starts in Florida is absolutely a player that can contend and win this week. The contention is really what the networks want most — Tiger in the hunt on the weekend will do numbers no matter what, even with basketball games on other stations. We got that perfect storm last week and it seems well within reach this week. It would be a massive boost for the game heading into the Masters, which is now just three weeks away.
Golf Channel and NBC will have the coverage again all week from Bay Hill. This is a home game for Golf Channel, which was co-founded by Palmer and is just down the road in Orlando. The event has an increased significance for the two networks for obvious reasons and they typically pull out all the bells and whistles for coverage. The window for the first two rounds will be an expanded four hours, while the weekend windows will be as wide as 6.5 hours.
PGA Tour Live will have its usual full slate of streaming coverage all four days. Woods is on the featured groups stream Thursday morning, and that will, as you might expect, do some serious numbers. Last week in Tampa, their streaming service had momentary break when Tiger’s round really started peaking and he took the solo lead on Friday morning. The app went down in different areas on both mobile, desktop, and Apple TV, prompting the easy joke that Tiger Woods had broken the Internet.

On This Day: Signature Will Bynum; Roy Rogers is born; munroe passes
New Post has been published on https://bestcustomjerseys.com/on-this-day-signature-will-bynum-roy-rogers-is-born-munroe-passes/
On This Day: Signature Will Bynum; Roy Rogers is born; munroe passes
On this day in Boston Celtics history, point guard Will Bynum signed a camp contract with the storied franchise after going undrafted in the 2005 NBA draft. Bynum, a native of Chicago, Illinois, played his college ball at the University of Arizona and would later transfer to Georgia Tech.
Bynum helped lead the latter of the two schools to an NCAA title game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys before trying his luck in that year’s draft, then signed with Boston later that summer when neither team selected him. However, he would not end up making the team: Bynum would end up resigning a little over two months later, on October 25.
The Chicagoan would briefly return to Celtic many years later, after stints with the Golden State Warriors and Detroit Pistons.
He would be traded to Boston for Joel Anthony in 2014, then waived by the Celtics for the second time nine years and two days after the first time.
Bynum would never play a game with the team.
It is the birthday of former Boston forward Roy Rogers, born on this day in 1973 in Linden, Alabama.
Rogers went to Alabama to play NCAA basketball and was drafted with the 22nd overall pick in the 1996 NBA draft by the (then) Vancouver (now Memphis) Grizzlies before being traded to the Celtics at the end of their playoff season. rookie.
Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports
He played just nine games for Boston before being traded once again, this time with Dee Brown, Chauncey Billups and John Thomas in a trade that brought back Zan Tabak, Kenny Anderson and Popeye Jones.
Rogers averaged 0.8 points and 0.6 boards per game in his brief tenure with the team, later returning to the club as an assistant coach.

It is also the date the Celtics defeat the Philadelphia 76ers 128-101 to take a 2-0 series lead in the first round of the 2020 NBA Playoffs being held in the Disney bubble due to the pandemic.
“I’m playing with confidence,” Tatum said after the game (via AP) in which he scored 33 points to lead the Celtics. “I just try to be aggressive and make the right play. I say it a lot, but it’s as easy as I can break it down.”
Finally, it’s also the date of death of former Boston guard George Munroe, who played just 21 games for the Celtics in 1947-48.
The Dartmouth product posted 3.4 points per game during that period.

What is your monthly budget?
Preferably, I would like to keep the budget under $10/month since this will primarily be a sandbox application for me to experiment with/expand upon. I am willing to consider options > $15/month if necessary.
Where are you/your users located?
Central US (Kansas)
What kind of site are you hosting (WordPress, phpBB, custom software, etc) or what is your use case?
I will be hosting a custom Angular application that will interact with an MSSQL database through an API written in C# ASP.NET Core. This is a university project and we are required to use an MSSQL solution. I chose Angular and C# because I am familiar with both of their frameworks.
The design for our project consists of an application that will allow authenticated users to track NCAA basketball statistics data by subscribing to certain teams, players, or games. The user will provide our application with a specific link from https://www.basketball-reference.com. We will scrape the information and store it in the database, along with the link to where we scraped the information so that if the user requests updated information, we are able to re-scrape the data and display the updated statistics.
I would like to continue hosting this project as a sandbox following the semester so that I may continue to experiment with web development and interacting with databases. We are not attempting to advertise our project in any way.
Do you have a monthly traffic volume? Estimates are ok.
I do not anticipate to have a monthly traffic volume of greater than 100 unique users.
If you’re looking at VPSes: Do you have experience administrating linux servers and infrastructure?
I do not have experience administrating linux servers but am familiar with various linux operating systems. I would be willing to put in some time and effort researching if a VPS would be the most applicable solution to my project.
Did you read the sidebar/check out the hosts listed there? I’ve personally vetted these companies and their services are a good fit for 99% of people.
I have read the sidebar. I am considering the big three – AWS, Google, Azure – but I am unsure if there are less expensive, more appropriate options out there for my use case.

If I need to provide more information, please let me know. I was redirected to this subreddit from /r/webdev since it seemed to be more applicable to my post. Any help is much appreciated, thank you!
