do you think it's weird or unfounded to not want to use chat gpt due to the environmental cost? i feel really strongly that i want to completely avoid it (and, like, recreational/work related ai in general) for that reason, but people seem to think this is really weird when i express that as a reason. but i feel like i should be able to make this call if i want to and that's a good reason to not use it. i don't know?!?!?! i don't get anything anymore?!?!?!
#my workplace is really leaning heavily ai#and people keep seeming to think that i too will use it#and i'm always just like 'NO!!!!!!!'#so far no one has pushed me on it and it's not required at all#but idk. is it going to stop being our call & become mandatory one day? D:#because (and i know this sounds so weird) morally i don't want to touch it!#this reminds me of one time when i was in acting class in college#and the prof was out so a TA was teaching#and we were playing a game where everyone had to repeat what everyone else had said and then add something on#and when it got to me i refused to do it because there were a bunch of swear words and i don't -- alas -- cannot -- swear#and i got in trouble with the TA and almost got kicked out of class lol#(but the other students stood up for me so i didn't!)#i get very rigid about things and i'm like 'sorry can't EVER do it!'#the swearing may be. ya know. completely morally neutral.#(though i still don't swear anything that can't be said on old timey network tv! because i'm weird!)#but i feel like i have way more of a case with this chat gpt stance#dollsome's deep thoughts#p.s. does this way of my brain operating suggest some profound neurodivergence?#i often wonder.#society told me swearing was bad when i was a kid and i've internalized it FOREVER.#i said 'shit' once when i was like 10 (in homage to a line delivery from mrs doubtfire!)#and then i cried inconsolably for like two hours and never swore again#(this was totally internally enforced btw. i don't have any memory of any adults ever caring whatsoever.)#even to this very day i wouldn't even swear alone.#does my brain work like that of merricat from we have always lived in the castle? maybe a little.#these tags have gone a lot of places#the point is. i think it's okay to be anti-chat gpt for moral reasons. and also coolness reasons.#and swearing = fine obviously. but not my style.#unless i'm writing and then there's no rules obvi

Hello! I’ve seen your work over the years and every time I see it I always get a kick over it. I have a sociological question to ask you about centaurs. How do humans or other races fit into their lives? Both in a general sense of life, platonically, and romantically? Sorry if you’ve answered this before.
Thank you! It always blows my mind that I've been puttering away in my little corner of the internet with my horse people for this long!
I've covered a couple different specific situations in my cultures; re platonic and romantic? but for the most part is it boils down to that romantic would probably be rare and boil down to individual choices for how they approach it? But for platonic I have sort of covered a lot of platonic relationships just from the standpoint that basically all my centaur cultures have a deep societal tie to another race. At first it was a lot of convenience- a way to get around the difficulties of centaur bodies getting in the way of certain ways of life, but at this point I just do it cause it's lovely to me!
Like the merchants build their cities with the dwarves and they both benefit from the dwarves engineering and centaur's strength and mobility re:trade. The centaurs easily manage huge farms, trade networks, and logging infrastructure on their strength and speed but benefit from dwarves (and a small portion of other bipeds) being better set up for building (try to imagine a centaur making a roof, it's vexed me for a year now..) and generally engineering wizzes so it's a mutually beneficial relationship to entwine their cultures in the main Merchant City

Obviously my Riders are wholly entwined with their biped family as I've talked extensively about in.. too many posts probably haha

but then my very lightly covered Mountain folk have a different, almost religious relationship with the Forest Giants in which the relationship between their two cultures is separate other than the spiritual importance they hold with each other. The giants live approximately 300 years but are very slow, sedate creatures who prize a life of peace and telling stories over all else. So the centaurs almost view them as minor deities and the giants keep and love the stories their fiery little companions entrust to them.

As you can tell, I really love building all these races and cultures and then mashing them together and see what comes out! I find it makes the world feel more real and lived in when I'm not only thinking about how a culture would work and operate, but also how they interact with their neighbors! What's their main export and how does that shape their life and relations?? These are the questions I get LOST in so thank you for asking :D
#asked and answered#centaurs#riders#mountain folk#merchants#I REALLY NEED TO COME UP WITH NAMES#but I have commitment problems#man I can't even get into the other merchant connections#they also work with my version of elves#in their logging operations#and their network of mail delivery taurs have a whole seperate thing with harpies#I LOVE CONNECTING CULTURES#in ways that aren't fighting!

Operation: H.O.L.I.D.A.Y.
I figured that this episode should naturally follow the previous post. Whereas in Operation B.U.T.T., Number One was forced to take a break on the beach, here we finally see him relaxing in an island paradise. Of course, it's still part of the KND Jamaican leader retreat. Moreover, this episode continues to make callbacks to Nigel's large rear and preference for Rainbow Monkey Underwear.
In fact overall, I like how so many disparate aspects of the show play a role in a relatively simple episode. We get more of Nigel and Lizzie's ongoing dysfunctional relationship, of side characters in the KND -- particularly Numhuh 10 and Numbuh 1 Love --and various plot elements from other episodes -- like the Hamsters and Nurse Claiborne's Apple Crumbles.
Also as a side note, we get a pan shot of the exterior of the Jamaican treehouse in Operation I.T.

“POOR LITTLE GIRL, NEVER BEEN TOLD THAT YOU WEREN’T A LOT; THAT YOU WERE JUST A CHILD.”
:
— : OR! ORRR!! MY VERSION OF LIFELESS LUCY / LUCY JONES! ANY OTHER FANS OF HER IN THIS HELLHOLE?
— : character belongs to. @0o-moonwitch-o0
:
‿‿‿‿ ‿‿‿‿ ‿‿‿‿ ‿‿‿‿ ‿‿‿‿ ‿‿‿‿
. . lucy is a quiet, silent, never-completely-there child. she stays listening, watching, wandering— until all of that built up silence crashes out of nowhere. she’s either too quiet or too loud, and when she’s loud, it’s never a positive. angry outbursts, sass, tantrums. her unpredictability causes people around the cult to dislike her, and even stay away from her in case of another outburst. ultimately, it leads lucy to become a very lonely child.
. . her loneliness makes her believe everyone else hates her— which, wouldn’t be the exact word. some do hate her, but most simply just don’t wanna “waste their time” on a girl who seems to need so much attention. she’s not too much, she hates being too much. shut up. you’re a liar. she doesn’t hate anyone in return, instead hating herself for digging herself into this loophole— but there are two people she can’t stand. everyone, give it up for TOBIAS ROGERS and JEFFREY WOODS! jeff is just an asshole in her eyes, teasing her and hitting her where it hurts the most for reasons she can’t explain why. tobias?… well, in this AU, tobias resembles christopher by a MILESTONE— brown eyes, brown hair, same skin color. plus, you can’t deny they both wield axes. axes that hit her twice in the head. she does not know why she hates tobias so much, but lucy just.. does. I mean, upon seeing him for the first time— jones attempted murder on multiple occasions before being forced to calm down.
. . she has a select few on who to speak to, since they seem to be the only ones willing to stay and listen. ( forgive me here— I’ll be adding my OC nicole..)
- BENJAMIN LAWMAN
- OGGY
- LAZARI SWANN
- NICOLE SOUZA
— her relationship with most of them (ahem— all except oggy and benjamin) are well-known acquantainces. she doesn’t consider nicole and lazari friends, though they might consider *her* a friend. the friendship with benjamin? they have a sibling-like bond, and it’s all because of the Operator, as much as she hates to admit it. which brings us onto our next point..
. . recruited benjamin. benjamin, in my AU, follows the canon story— and then my variation of him starts when he gets recruited, which is after the ARG is over. lucy appeared in his digital world, spooking him- scaring him, and only him so others would think he’s off something. slowly but surely, lucy approached him- became more bold, and talked about an oh-so great place that was just at the tips of his fingertips. (read: all because the Operator had her to do so. couldn’t care less about the place she had to reluctantly join.)
— even then, the relationship wasn’t all built on recruitment and chance but rather familiarity. lucy accepted the mission without fuss, not only because of her phobia of the Boss, but because looking over Benjamin’s file: she had a feeling of familiarity that she couldn’t quite place. benjamin reminds her of her twin brother.
. . her distrust of adults roots from her parents, expectantly. as a child, and still as a child, she’d wander around the halls of the house that felt so hollow. her parents were always busy doing something else— and the biggest display of affection they’d show were through gifts: trying to buy her heart back. after a while, she stopped caring about getting the toys she wanted. instead, she cared about a vacation where it’s just her and her parents: reunited as one happy family. because of this, she started growing a dislike to near-hatred for the two adults, and as time went on, projected onto other adults too. “they’re all the same, why bother?”
. . despite being so insistent on not being bought with gifts, she is fairly used to getting what she wants. physical and gift form, at least. it’s not that lucy remembers very well, but feelings and familiarity reach inside her brain where her past life can not- and she knows she used to get all that the other kids desired. so, unfortunately, she can’t help but stop herself from thinking about asking her parents someone.. who was it again?.. ah, nevermind. asking someone for that expensive game she wants so bad.
. . I like to tie her aesthetics to alice in wonderland, strangely enough.. I have no clue why, actually. it’s just something that I looked at and stuck with it. her dress is a lot more detailed in this variation, and she has some small other changes in her design. might draw her soon..
⌒⌒⌒⌒⌒⌒⌒⌒ ⌒⌒⌒⌒ ⌒⌒⌒⌒ ⌒⌒⌒⌒ ⌒⌒⌒⌒
:
— : sue me, but lucy is in my top three favorite creepypastas. either two steps behind benjamin or one step, she was a kid I grew fond of..
— : I might still be developing her, who knows?
— : who do you guys want next: lazari, charlotte/miya nyx, or ben? yes I know all kids.. I’ll post about the adults soon
