Neve protesting/guarding Rook and Davrin's backs

She heard Davrin’s shout in front of them as a large form staggered forth from the fog. It was larger than an ogre, covered in an odd, white colored flesh. It’s head reminded her of an insect, with giant pinchers, a body that resembled Ghilan’nain almost, an elongated humanoid torso, ending in four strange legs whose humanoid feet were pointing backwards.

“What is that thing?” Neve asked in revulsion.

“Some abhorrence,” Rook responded grimly. “A spirit or a demon that gathered parts of different bodies, human and otherwise, then twisted them into the form of its choice. It doesn’t happen often, but when it’s done it’s always nasty.”

The qunari pulled a flask off the bandolier he usually wore into battle and stepped forward so that he and Davrin could engage the creature. “There’s other things coming, keep them off us Neve,” the Mourn Watcher requested.

“Right,” Neve turned to the side, her eyes scanning the fog to guard her lovers’ backs.

She could hear the sound of sword and shield against fleshy pulp behind her, but she had no time to look over her shoulder because more of the dog like creatures came rushing out of the fog from two sides. She held both her hands out, sending a wave of ice at the ones on the right and then another blast of ice at those on the left. She could hear the sound of ice freezing then snapping and breaking the creatures’ bones.

I love how you’ve gotten into Neve’s head here, from the get-go. Her voicing is excellent, this absolutely feels like her!

This whole day had gone to shit. Neve should have known it wasn't going to turn out when Hal's sold out of fish before noon. Of course, even she couldn't have predicted darkspawn in the streets or the Archon's palace literally trying to kill them. But hey, they tracked down their target. Solas, elven God, hell bent on destroying the world. Or in his mind remaking it. Always the same self-righteous justifications from people who thought they knew best. Never stopping to think of the cost. Of what really mattered in the end.

The Dock Town cats had more sense than that. At least they could be reasoned with if you brought enough food.

Of course, the whole ritual blew up in everyone's faces. Probably for the best. Though things definitely could have gone better.

The red head, Harding, was injured from causing their distraction. Not bad luckily. But enough. And then there was the new guy, Rook, and her old friend, Varric. Bleeding from their altercation with Solas and barely dragged out of there in time.

Now, there were three gods on the loose. And the cost to their group had been considerable.

Damn it all. At least everyone in her new ragtag team made it out alive. For now. Though things definitely looked bleak as they settled into this new strange place called the Lighthouse.

Okay, so I have PLANS for Neve Week.

I’m sure you’re all shocked.

We’ve got pre-week events mostly lined up, and of course I will be doing my usual ficlet series for the event (though for once it will be pre-written), but I need y’all’s help with something. I also intend to write a 5-and-1 fic for the week. Neve focused, but not as directly tied to the prompts as the ficlet series.

The problem is I have too many ideas. SO! WILL YOU HELP ME?
