17살 때, 맨날 줄 이어폰을 필수로 챙기고 다녔다. 학교 수업 중에도 몰래 이어폰을 끼고 노래를 들었었는데 그 만큼 노래를 듣는 것은 내 일상과 함께 했던 것 같다.

친구들이 맨날 나보고 줄이어폰 끼고 다닌다고 엄청 그랬는데.. 지금 생각해보면 내가 노래를 참 많이 듣고 다녔구나 생각이 든다. 하하

이 노래를 들으면 17살 때 고등학교 다니던 시절이 생각이 난다. 학교 수업을 다 마치고 오후 5시 쯤 석식을 먹지도 않고 바로 버스를 타러 달려갔다. 그 만큼 버스타고 가는 게 너무 치열했다.

가끔은 버스 안에 사람이 너무 많아 그냥 지나가는 경우가 있었다. 난 그런 게 너무 싫어서 항상 지름길을 통해서 학교보다 거리가 있었던 버스 정류장까지 갔었다.

매번 버스 창문 쪽 자리에 앉아서 햇빛이 비추어지는 풍경을 보고 이 노래를 빠짐없이 들었던 것 같았다.

나는 이 노래의 full 버전을 좋아한다. 간주가 더 길고 노래 또한 길다. 그래서 가사 역시도 더욱 길다. 나는 평소에 노래를 들으면 가사를 이해하고 해석하는 걸 좋아하는 편이기 때문에 노래 가사를 보는 걸 매우 매우 좋아한다.

가사를 보면 왜인지 그 노래에 대해서 더욱 애정이 가고 찾게 되는 것 같다. 단순히 멜로디가 좋아서가 아니라, 그 가사가 멜로디랑 어울리는 포인트들이 있는 것 같다.

개인적으로 나는 이 노래에서 하이라이트로 갈때 반주가 전환되면서 현악기 소리가 웅장해지는 것이 너무 좋은 것 같다. 그래도 다들 임팩트가 있다고 생각하는 파트는 우리 손잡을까요~ 부분이 아닐까 라고 생각이 든다. 하지만 나는 하이라이트 부분이 역시 너무 좋은 것 같다.

내가 좋아했던 더보이즈의 큐가 이 노래를 커버 했었는데 자기의 보이스와 잘 어울리는 곡을 잘 선택한 것 같다고 생각이 든다.

말끔하고 순수해보이는 미성이 그리고 그 사람 자체만의 이미지가 너무 잘 어울려서 괜히 커버곡도 많이 듣게 되었던 것 같았다 ! 이 노래랑 정말 잘 어울리는 사람인 것 같다.

나도 언젠간 이 노래와 걸맞은 영상을 찍어보고싶다 :D 나만의 뮤직비디오 ~

I love the dandelion animations in the music video.

Is that very Oohyo-ish? I think of Oohyo every time I see a dandelion. Is it because of their single, “Dandelion” or “민들레” from 2007?

Huh…maybe…

Anyway, lovely Oohyo is back with her newest single, “BRAVE,” and I am hypnotized. The single, released on April 29, has somewhat of a retro vibe to it, with an echoed voice throughout the song and groovy beats.

In her song, she explains becoming stronger and braver in life. We all go through hardships and despair. Other times, we just want to get by. But we forget, oftentimes, that there’s no rainbow without rain. And we forget often to enjoy the little moments. We may even not notice that one person that could be our true love, if we only slowed down to notice them.

We’ve built this self-defense mechanism where we think that hurting someone else first will make us feel better because they won’t be hurting us. In the end, we all hurt each other. However, if we all slowed down and really opened our hearts a little more, only then will we be able to find true happiness and true love.

The song itself has a retro vibe to it, don’t you think? And I think that’s what I like about this song the most, besides its message.

오늘 수업을 들어갔는데 한 학생이 아침마다 버스에서 만나는 남자가 넘 잘생겨서 너무 설레이신단다. 매일 비슷한 시간에 버스를 타는데 오늘도 기적같이 또 만났다나. 손가락에 반지가 보이는데 여친이 있는 것 같기도 하고 어쩌고 저쩌고..

계속 듣고 있자니 떠오르는 노래 가사가 있어서 수업 중에 한 번 틀어 드렸다. 직접 말을 해도 잘 모르겠는 게 사람 마음인데.. 마음에 드는 사람이 있다면 그만 고민을 멈추고 언넝 말을 해야 하지 않을까.

'매일매일 해가 뜨듯이 너를 바라보고 있어요' 라고.

A student in my class said that her heart leaps up because of a handsome guy she meets in the bus nowadays. She met the man again today making her think it was a miracle. She could see a ring on his finger so he may already has a girlfriend.. blah blah.

After hearin her chatter, a lyric dawned upon my mind, then I played that song during my class. We cannot notice other's thoughts even if we hear them directly in words. So I think it would be better for the one who has an affection for someone to stop hesitating and say plainly as "I'm looking at you everyday just like the sun rises every morning."
