Not that it really matters but the thing about the Darry Trial™ in AGoT that I think so many people get wrong is that Sansa was protecting Arya when she said she didn't remember what happened by the Trident. Lets say Sansa told the truth in that scene; she'd necessarily have to include that Arya hit Joffrey with a broomstick, because he was cutting Mycah's cheek for hitting Arya, and that's what led to the fight that had Nymeria biting Joff. But if Sansa said this then Arya would be wrongly seen as the guilty party.

Like, these people didn't care that Mycah was killed, so why would this room full of nobles and mostly Lannister knights care that Joffrey cut him on the cheek? They'd most likely view the situation as their Crown Prince chastising an impudent peasant for hitting highborn Lady Arya Stark. So Arya attacking her "defender" over this could be seen as an unjust (or even an irrational/crazed) assault on the future king. Don't get me wrong, I think Arya was totally right to beat Joff, just like Dunk was right to beat Aerion for the same reason, but their classist and sexist nobility isn't going to view the situation like we do.

And as we learn later, the punishment for striking a royal is to lose the hand that struck them. Do I think Robert would've cut Arya's hand off? No, of course not, but I'm sure that Sansa thought her sister would be punished in some way if she confirmed that Arya had hit a royal. We don't actually learn that Robert thinks the whole affair is no big deal until after Sansa has spoken and with further context we know that Sansa is frightened by Robert... so ya'know.

Alethea Carina Ryland. Former Princess, Banished for her affinity to dark magic. 30 years old. pan. multiship.

Alethea was a normal princess but she carried a rotten curse from the day of her birth, an affinity to dark magic. Cursed by the former lover of the king, a bitter witch who had hidden her magical abilities from the king as royalty was not allowed to be together with a magical user such as a witch or warlock. The royal family was known for their hunts against witches and warlocks alike, dark magic users.

Alethea was always a gentle girl and did not show any sort of affinity to magic at all when she was young, it not showing itself until she grew closer to her teen years and had a magical outburst. From there her parents sent her out the castle and into a little house on the same grounds but as she leaned more into her magical abilities and found herself for who she was with them, they banished her outright on the very day of her 18th birthday.

Alethea took this in stride, finding who she was and wanted to be with her magical abilities that were dark yes, but could be used for good too as she could use her dark abilities to manipulate the world around her with wishes granted and spells cast. Untrained raw dark magic, she was playing with fire and bound to get burned. Burned she did, hands scarred by a witch hunter for daring to use magic in the same city he hailed from when she was simply passing through. He wanted to set her entirely aflame but she drew that fire into her hands alone and absorbed it, leaving scars behind and a soul on fire after that. She gained the affinity for fire based magic after that.

Her dark magic could evolve. She was hungry for knowledge about this, in the end finding herself at the door of the witch that caused the curse she carries. The witch was not a horrible woman after all, not realizing the curse wouldn't take affect on the one day king himself but a child born to the king. She did not see the magic itself as a curse either really but knew the one day king would have. She apologized to Alethea and trained her in the magic. Alethea eventually mastered her magic fully, though she always had a good depth of understanding for it anyways before finding a proper master. She then found herself leaving her master, to find her own place. Her master wished her well.

An old cottage in the woods called to her, it had an underlying magical presence. The cottage was alive with magic and bonded to her. her magic restored the cottage to its former glory. It had been a previous witches cottage, but the witch had been hunted down by hunters and had ended up never coming back, leaving the house dormant and unbonded. The house was wonderful and latched onto her magic easily, whispers of the house said she felt like the former witch that lived there.

Alethea has had many rumors spread by those that enter the woods and find the cottage, some good say she helps others to find themselves and takes care of them, some bad say that she takes their life force and they never ever come back if they see the red haired woman. Both are not necessarily untrue. Alethea can see a persons intentions and soul through one single touch alone and tell if they are good people that can be helped or are people that cannot be helped, that are the worst of the worst. She protects this side of the forest and the poor little town that is near the forest, helps its people that come across and eliminates dangers, purifying people of their evil if she can or taking most of their life force if she cant and leading them away from the poor village.

For Gold the weight of expectation is hefty and does have a toll on him, it’s part of what compels him to work harder, to do better but it also has its deteriments. He might act carefree and indifferent to the opinions of others, unable to be shaken, but beneath that he is painfully aware of how people perceive him. At least, if they see him as the goofy guy, the guy who makes them laugh, it’s not a bad thing, not inherently but it means they do not take him seriously and part of him wants desperately to be taken seriously. They both really do go hand in hand because the way he is viewed by the public, by others, strangers and people he’s close to alike really does affect him quite a lot. He can laugh it off, he will laugh it off, because he knows how to do that, because he’s used to doing that, but that doesn’t stop the smarting, it doesn’t prevent the ways he is repeatedly looked down on from slowly, insidiously chipping away at his sunny demeanour. Eventually he will break, eventually all the things that he’s holding in will come to the surface and, really, he tends to vent that out more in lashing out, not out of hatred or actual anger but because he doesn’t KNOW where else to put it or how else to manage it. At that point he’s just a kid, a kid with limited coping skills, a kid who other people haven’t acknowledged often even when he proves that he IS capable and it affects him, it really does.

he definitely does not seem like the type of guy, but Shepard's narrative is all about love actually.. not necessarily romantic but just Love in all forms, familial and platonic and love with all the lines blurred (I'm talking insane queerplatonic dynamics with crewmates. rships that border on excessive codependency if ppl let him in and let him push the dynamic to that point). about being changed by love and made Stronger by it, love being what gives him his power and sharpens his teeth and makes him a better and a much deadlier weapon than he would be without it...

for all his sharp edges (and his long trek from being no one's son, no culture's child, no one's anything... to finding the littlest niche in the little community of the Normandy, and what it means to care for said community, to slowly branching that learnt compassion outwards on a larger scale), Shepard is more About love than anything else
