Puppet prince formal dress WIP

I know, I know. I have like 5 or 6 WIP I'm working on. And I don't know when I'll have them done but I'm a mom and a wife, I'm a bit busy so I just post what I got goin' on at the moment since my free time is limited.

I still appreciate all your support. I really didn't think people were going to like my art when I first started posting. Now I have so much more confidence and you guys encouraged me to keep drawing! And I already see improvement in my skill! Thank you!

Gotta a silly little headcanon for Peter from hereditary. When he was a younger kid his favorite movie was Pinocchio. It was the only thing that kept him from bothering his mother while she was working. She’d put the movie on and he’d just stare at the screen and when it ended he cried until she put it back on. Hed spend the whole day watching it.

So when the events in hereditary take place and Peter gets possessed by paimon in the classroom, he looks as though he’s a puppet being pulled and dropped on his face by a cruel puppeteer

Between Flowers and Tangles | P x reader

I thought of a line of thought that P wants to woo the reader and that one form of wooing is to give flowers; the problem is that they didn't explain to him what kind of flora and fauna should be given as a gift as a bouquet and he does things like:

On his first attempt, P arrived at the hotel with an entire tree that he had uprooted from some random place. He held it with both hands, smiling proudly, while Gemini is desperately trying not to laugh.

Determined to improve, Pinocchio chose to collect flowers and herbs, not knowing that some were poisonous. He unintentionally caused a slight allergy to the reader, prompting him to apologize profusely.

On a third try, P decided that twigs with small leaves and spider webs were a safer option. At least, they weren't poisoun, he thought to himself.

He immersed himself in books, trying to figure out what he should include in a bouquet. After a crossroads between chaos and Krat's destruction, he found a small, but living, flower.

Very carefully, he plucked the flower from the ground and placed it in his bag, trying to protect it as if it were a valuable treasure, ready to carry it safely back to the hotel.

Upon arriving at the hotel, clumsily but gently, he handed the small flower to the reader. The next morning, a pot with the same flower appeared in the reader's room.

He saw the flower in the reader's bedroom, and felt the gears of his heart beating at full speed. So he decided to bring them little flowers little by little. Although it was a difficult and tedious task, every time he saw the reader's sweet smile, he knew it was worth it.

Sometimes, Pinocchio added small stones of curious shapes that he found in his travels. Although they were not flowers, they had some charm.

Little by little, the reader's room was filled with small pots of flowers (which miraculously survived in Krat), giving a touch of life and color to the place. All carefully attended to with the love and affection of a certain human.

Each flower was Pinocchio's silent way of expressing his love and devotion. Because, although he did not know how to express his feelings in words, his mechanical heart was full of love to give.

The hotel residents used to smile when they saw P return covered in dirt and mud, but with a spark of excitement in his eyes when he brought new flowers. Although Gemini wasn't so pleased that his lamp got dirty in the process.

But he wanted to do something bigger. So he gathered a considerable amount of flowers and, with the help of Gemini, he tried to put together a bouquet. Gemini, with a mixture of patience and desperation, suggested that he decorate it with a ribbon or wrap it in paper. "No, Pinocchio, we can't add metal parts or a weapon, much less Spring!"

With the bouquet in his hand, Pinocchio walked excitedly towards the reader's room. He knocked on the door and hid the bouquet behind his back. The reader received it with a smile, and Pinocchio, with a gesture full of tenderness, revealed the beautiful bouquet that he had made with so much effort.

Seeing the blush and happiness on the reader's face, He knew that everything had been worth it. Just as he was about to leave, he felt the reader's soft caress on his cheek and a chaste kiss on the lips that left him completely stunned, his circuits almost shorted out.

The only witnesses of that magical kiss were the charming flowers, pampered with such dedication, and of course, Gemini, who, although accidental, was the third wheel in that romantic moment.

But, being a Gemini, he couldn't resist the temptation and muttered shamelessly: "If you need a mood lamp for more romance, just let me know, I'll be here… with the spotlight off, of course."

On the "original" korean script

its pretty certain that LoP has been a smash hit, i really hope they go back and do a korean dub

I REALLY WANT TO SHARE THIS. i fell down the translation rabbit hole after looking for a specific translated version of pinocchio

so, Carlo is way franker in the original korean version.

taking this really important line in the game. In english, the line was translated to

"I don't care if an old man like that kicks the bucket!"

I feel like it's way harsher in the korean version. in korean it was

"그깟 늙은이, 죽어도 상관 안 해"

which to me is more like "That old geezer, he can die for all I care." (literal translation would be like.. "That oldie, don't care even if he dies") In korean it's not so much a one to one translation as it is different conjugations and grammar depending on respect and the speaker. he doesn't literally call him an "old shit" but "그깟 늙은이" is let's say, carlo being very flippant

(if there are any korean speakers, yall are probably better than me, if you can refute or confirm this plz lmk)!!

ALSO: I went and I checked the Riddler's phone calls and they do also rhyme in korean!!? imagine adapting all that!! That is such the translation feat!!

more translation notes:

Geppetto: In my own way, I grew to love you. After all, you're the puppet that would bring my son back to life.

The line in korean strikes me as more tragic.

"하지만 알아 다오, 나는 너도 사랑했단다. 내 아들 카를로를 되살려줄 인형으로"

eng (interpretation mine +google translate):

"But know this, I loved you too. You're the doll that would bring my son Carlo back to life."

(or save my son Carlo) confirming that geppetto did love Pino. just not enough.

그래도 부모는 자식을 기다려 주게 마련이지. 너같이 매를들어야 할 말썽꾸러기라도 말이다.

"Still, parents are bound to wait for their children. Even if it’s a troublemaker like you who deserves a beating."

in the english version, it was:

I think the english localization team took their own interpretation to adapt the story which is really cool to see. Like Geppetto keeps calling us his "good boy", there's no real equivalent to that in korean perhaps, but it's infantilizing and uncomfortable to an english audience (Pino may be young, but he's still a far cry from what we would call a "child"). plus there's that added BioShock inference for good measure

in the english release, it was

Your freedom is not for you, but for Carlo!

interestingly, there is no mention of carlo in the korean version at some points where the english version mentions him, and sometimes Carlo is mentioned in the korean lines when the english version omits this. [edit note: it may have been because of test players comprehension of who exactly carlo was at this point in this story]

also, there is no difference between "doll" and "puppet" in korean as it is in english (as far as I know), and they use the word 인형 in the game where it was translated to "puppet" (when it would be generally translated to "doll"). In english, a "doll" indicates a toy generally for young children, while a puppet denotes a figure or figurine that is manipulated by a puppeteer. I really like that, it makes the setting even more story-book like

another note, carlo calling geppetto "old-ass" suggests that geppetto had him in his old age. In english "old man" is often an affectionate term for your father, so there's a difference there. in korean, i think carlo is simply insulting him LOL

[last of all, this is all just assuming that the script was originally in korean to begin with. ]

Don't mind me just casually dropping a thought nugget-

Anyway Ussop and Buggy both with MEGA imposter syndrome energy, somehow the cross guild and strawhats cross paths and declare a truce ((maybe it's a simple island, maybe Buggy's just "feeling nice" and so doesn't instigate, who tf knows-))

Anyway, Ussop and Buggy having a brief moment of a heart to heart, maybe Ussop overhears a Cross Guild "argument" ((ie: Croc threatening Buggy)), and he's actually... concerned? About this guy?? I mean yeah Buggy has done some bad shit and all but he helped Luffy with the whole Impel Down Thing. Luffy is a good judge of character, and if it wasn't On Sight this meet up, then obviously Buggy is a halfway decent dude.

So it becomes Pinocchio Jesus trying to subtly give therapy to a feral cat clown man on the outskirts of a party.

And when Buggy inevitably drops a "it's just the way it is, kid, they're stronger than me, I can offer nothing", Ussop has a moment of oh. You're like me, aren't you, Buggy?

((Bonus points, Luffy alternating between inhaling food, playing around and being absolutely GLUED to someone (Zoro, Buggy or Crocodile, in that order of frequency).

Eventually Lu decides to give a Grand Retelling Of Events, and he calls Buggy "one of the harder people I fought" without hesitation bc, to Luffy, he WAS. Buggy was the one who hurt his hat, who gave him a challenge STILL IN THE EAST, and who was tenacious and smart in ways he didn't GET. mihawk and Crocodile both are Doubting until Luffy gets into the Impel Down events and they... are beginning to Wonder. Buggy was underestimated when arrested, on a higher level, but even those levels have good security. And Buggy was out and mid escape when Luffy found him.

How did THAT happen?

And actually... he was starting and running a business in two years - one they integrated into with... very little push back or struggle. Mihawk may not be as business oriented, but both can tell that the math isn't... mathing precisely as expected.

Luffy, so infectious with energy, in that hat, in that shade of red - well. Buggy's been lonely for so long, and he's tired. What's the harm in dropping a few of his many, many guards?

Luffy is over the moon bc as far as he's concerned, the moment Buggy helped him, they became Friends, and when he learned he's an ally or smth of Shanks'? That's it, Buggy, you're being assimilated into the found family. Good luck, pal.

Croc and Hawk meanwhile are the Pikachu meme inside, trying to find the EQUATION to account for?? All??? This????

The rest of the strawhats are either cackling, watching on in amusement or cheering on as Buggy does some simply little card tricks or juggles smth or other. He passed Captain's Vibe Check, Nami's only slightly petty about the money.))

Bad would try to be a hero like prime just with black hair, but the fame, the power, being a great hero would take him over.

Chasing away villains turns into straight up killing them (then they won't come back to hurt anyone anymore) turns into hurting anyone who opposes him (why would anyone speak against to their hero unless they're a villain)

And he still think he's in the right and that's the crazy part.

How could he work with Vilgax like in "And then there was none"? Remember that time in UA when Prime had that reality controlling sword from king Arthur or whomever the fuck (it's been a minute since I've watched UA)? Some automatons, known as Dolls, are sentient from the moment they're made, others come to life after years of love and care, but many are already sentient and choose to hide it out of fear they might be discarded if they reveal themselves. This is a sentiment Natsume understands first-hand.
