The Mathematics of Motherhood: Hell or High Water
We didn’t grow up in chaos. But peace wasn’t our guest either. Things worked, mostly. But always one paycheck away from disaster. The fridge hummed more out of habit than purpose. The sofa’s left armrest was more thread than fabric. And the TV had character. A picture today, sound tomorrow. Still, somehow, we made it. She had this ritual with coins. She’d collect them in a large Nivea container.…

The True Responsibilities of a Father in a Family – Are You Living Up to Them?
Being a father isn’t just about bringing home a paycheck. It’s about being present, supportive, and involved in your family’s everyday life.
But here’s a real question—are you fulfilling the responsibilities of a father in a family, or just going through the motions?
Tumblr media
Let’s break it down 👇
What Makes a Responsible Father?
Someone who listens, not just instructs
Someone who spends quality time, not just provides
Someone who sets values, not just rules
Someone who supports their partner in parenting
Someone who plans for the family’s emotional and financial future
If you're nodding your head—or feeling unsure—then it’s the perfect time to reflect and improve.

Emotions are Illogical
Finding balance is key. It's about recognizing that it’s okay to not be okay, and it's okay to express that.
As a child, I was taught to “get over your stuff and leave it at home.” Airing your dirty laundry, especially at school, was frowned upon. Public displays of emotion were seen as signs of weakness and immaturity. This upbringing made it hard for me to share my emotions as an adult. To this day, expressing my feelings often feels difficult and embarrassing a sign of lack of intelligence. Photo by…

When Love comes back around: A Journey of a Million Dreams
Please enjoy our latest story and of love and resilience
In 2020, we concluded what I believed to be our lifelong journey of traveling on the road with our three kids: Joel, Silas, and Abi. Little did I know at the onset of that year that we would develop a profound connection to foster care through two girls who would forever alter our lives. Ms. L and Ms. A were the first children we encountered upon our arrival at Coyote Hill. Both were in the…

Fun on a Budget: How to Beat Inflation Woes This Summer
Dealing with the summer budget blues maybe I can help give you some ideas.
Kids just want to have fun. And I just want a savings account. With summer here, that often means vacations, theme parks, and eating out. But with today’s prices, those activities can really add up. Remember when a family night out at McDonald’s cost under $20? Now, a trip to the clown’s place can set you back $45, which is about the same as a sit-down Mexican restaurant. And a day at the water…
