Hey so about the steam/itch payment processor censorship that's been going on. Apparently the pressure group Collective Shout, the same ones that pretend to care about the safety of women and children, all while defending child-diddlers in their own ranks, only needed to make 1000 phonecalls to convince visa/mastercard to go after these platforms. >>>We have a chance to do the funniest shit right now if we are persistant and coordinate<<<

There's prescripts and more people can use in the thread, or you can make one yourself for others to use. As an aside, if you sell any adult content, I strongly suggest you identify as a merchant rather than just a card holder. While those of us who consume have some say, those who sell and make money through these companies have considerably more leverage with this issue. Use that to your advantage.

Greetings Tumblr, you may have heard of the current itch.io situation affecting NSFW content.

I have made a Google form about it.

If you have made a game that has been affected by shadowbans recently motivated by these puritan garbage credit card companies and the TERF groups puppeting them; in particular, any games that have been REMOVED ENTIRELY FROM EITHER PLATFORM, fill in this form and let me know about it.

I am trying to collaborate with this user to fill in their spreadsheet with any games I hear about through this form. If I fail to get in contact with them I'll be making my own repository and directing y'all to it instead.

Help us, we want to make sure any nsfw creators affected by this have means for our communities to keep finding their games and creations.

I think the Rev Says Desu video I saw on this was about mastercard and visa pulling funding for pixiv or melonbooks or some other anime/manga sites? idr so the only way to pay on whatever site that was is by japanese card companies or whatever funding platforms are on the site...

just let us buy the thing as long as it doesn��t hurt anyone~~ only thing that’s wrong with fictional art is papercuts and hand cramps from writing/drawing for a long time....

Having read this, it seems to have some potential. I do like that it acknowledges Operation Chokepoint as the beginning of this shit with the payment processors.

Just to clarify, there's a bill that would STOP credit card companies from controlling who's allowed to spend money on porn or "risque" (read: queer) content. If you don't think big business should be able to tell you what to spend your own damn money on, call your senators and reps to let them know! It's the Fair Access to Banking Act, H.R.987 in the House, S.410 in the Senate.

Voiddebris on Bsky has made this handy-dandy guide on Google Docs with a letter template and contact information for Paypal, Mastercard and Visa so we can put pressure on them to stop putting illegal restrictions on what we can buy, watch, play and read! Collective Shout needed 1000 phone calls to get Mastercard/Visa on their side but we can very easily top that several times over!

I Did My Part On Contacting Visa About This Censorship Mess

Because this is the Canadian Visa branch, I'm unsure if it'll apply. But better to be safe than sorry in case concerning changes decide to be made in our Online Harms Act (aka Bill C-63). I even included the US's Fair Banking Act in case they forward this to the US's headquarters.

A vocal minority of puritan groups have pushed payment processors to kill nsfw games on itch.io, yes, but payment processors have been harming sexworkers' livelihoods for more than a decade, and they have been responsible for much of the censorship you see (or don't see) on the internet. https://yellat.money this site has phone numbers and contact forms you can use to yell at payment processors.

Become a bigger vocal minority who has the rights of sexworkers, bipoc and 2slgbtqia, and nsfw creatives in mind. If you have mastercard, bug visa. If you have visa, bug mastercard. If you don't have credit, pretend you do, and bug everyone.
