Financial diet

The decision about the diet is made today, before it appears you have to make an effort. It is no different with finances if we want to save or invest money.

In the common sense, diet is a diet that usually has something to do with something. The decision to switch to a diet is dictated by the desire to lose weight or simply to feel better in one's own skin. Anyway, the decision about the diet is made today, but its effects will not be immediate and before they appear you will have to make some efforts.

It is no different with our finances if we want to save some money or invest it. In both cases, the decision is a matter of the present and we will reap the benefits in the near or distant future. The simplest way to describe an investment is to give up current consumption for future profits. This approach, of course, contradicts the proverb 'a better sparrow in the hand than a pigeon on the roof', but it has many advantages and can be useful in everyday life.

We do not usually buy a house, a plot or a flat for cash. To finance this type of investment we go to the bank for a loan. We will pay it back for a few or more years from our future income.

Also in case of purchases of lower value such as furniture, household appliances and RTV equipment we use e.g. installment payment, preferably in 0% installments. Finally, the costs of even the smallest purchases can be spread over time by paying for them, for example, by credit card.

Since there were a few words about expenses it is worth a moment to think about savings. Who of us would not want to have even a small sum just in case. But how do we get there? Most of us can repeat after Piotr Machalica the line from the film "The Art of Loving" that he has "weak strong will". Consistency and strong will are the key to saving money. On the other hand, many people say that there is nothing to put off. Others, on the other hand, will say that they have credits to pay off, so why should they put off and at the same time pay interest?

Nothing more wrong, first of all, the amounts postponed do not have to be large. After all, Krakow was not built right away. It is important that they are postponed successively. The sum collected in this way can be used in different ways. It can be a perfect protection for worse moments such as temporary lack or loss of income. It can also be an own contribution in case of a larger purchase, which requires such a contribution. After all, thanks to it we can afford to have a more luxurious holiday than usual.

When it comes to saving and repaying loans at the same time, the contradiction is only apparent. We would usually like to repay the loans as soon as possible. It is difficult to do this without additional income. It is even more difficult if the amount of credit repeatedly exceeds current income and the repayment is planned for many years. Additionally, if such a loan is denominated in a foreign currency, the amount of the installment from month to month changes. In the event of an increase in the burden exceeding our current capabilities, it is worth having something in mind to compensate for such an inconvenience.

Returning to diets, it is said that every good diet should be diversified, the financial one should be diversified as well. Therefore, reaching for credit is just as natural a solution as putting aside part of the income or investing free financial resources. Thanks to this, we will be able to enjoy the purchase of goods or services earlier than our current income would allow. The point is to sometimes use seemingly contradictory solutions to achieve the goals set and at the same time feel safe every day.
