Ha, I never played past fourth gen (HG, SS, Diamond, Pearl, Platinum) so I never encountered Trevenant! That's a sixth gen Pokemon. I think the "weird angry tree" Pokemon was just Sudowoodo as far as I remember, and the vibes are all wrong.

I love the pathetic top-heavy Vileplume concept tbh. Has weaponised hayfever that kills you. Can't see you from under the weight of his own petals. Poor little fucker.

b/w & b2/w2 I BELIEVE IN GEN5 SUPREMACY !!! the MUSIC!!!! THE GRAPHICSSS GOD THE LIMITED 3D GRAPHICS THEYRE SO CHARMING!!!!!!! not to mention the loml N!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! god i feel so much about N. honestly the motivations of the evil team r actually so interesting and I think it makes for some of the most compelling story u see in the early pokemon games. pokemon liberation??? hello???? it's one thing to want to take over the world or like. flood the earth but to manipulate the masses and play to people's guilty conscience by insinuating that they might be Hurting pokemon by keeping them captive??? they did not have to cook so severely with that concept but i'm so glad they did. That being said I think I prefer the story of the original b/w games just because of how new and unsettling it was to encounter team plasma for the first time and all the interactions with N, but I do rly appreciate how the sequels expounded on them! colress is ok as a villain and even more ok as mad scientist twink eyecandy so I'll allow him gfsdjh I also do like that b2/w2 included more pokemon in the base games I love you early riolu i love you castelia city eevee encounter,,,. I also LOVE how they tried to pull a Trainer Red 2.0 with the postgame battle against the b/w MC in the sequels god gen5 is so GOOD :’)

Platinum i mean is anyone surprised hfdsjg sinnoh is art to me. fr all i rave about gen5 gen4 is the one I grew up with and played alongside my friend group as a kid so when it comes to the nostalgia factor, sinnoh is unmatched. The legendaries in this gen r iconic and so well designed there is not a single one that sticks out as a hard miss. sinnoh gave us cresselia and darkrai it gave us 2 forms of shaymin it gave us !!! glaceon!!!!!!!! i love u sinnoh always <3

hg/ss listen i know these games get a bit of a bad rep for having poor power scaling and being baby games in terms of difficulty but i do not care bc i can see my guys walking behind me and that is all i care about argue with a wall!!!!! also pokeathelon >>>>>>>> 

i also have to give an honourary mention to sw/sh gdfshjgdsjk games that arguably get an even Worse rep ik but hear me out. they were my return to the pokemon games after having skipped gens 6-7 entirely and I enjoyed my playthrough SO much I genuinely had so much fun. I wasn’t too put off by the glitches or the objectively bad plot, I was just so happy to be playing pokemon again :’> ALSO I am a proud Hop defender I respect the hell out of the writers for the arc they gave him. Was it rushed and underdeveloped yes but by pokemon game standards? I honestly found Hop’s self-doubt n identity crisis super moving sue me. Also the trainer character designs r so GOOD RAIHAN CALL ME

What’s your favorite pokemon game?

I loooove love love Pokémon Heart Gold! It's such an amazing game, and i adore the sound track. I still use my pokewalker, and I love the designs of the Johto Pokémon. Mareep/Ampharos, Dunsparce, Wobbuffet, Porygon2, and Togetic are some of my all time favorite mons.

But tbh, gens 3, 4 and 5 are the golden age of Pokémon, and i love every game released in those gens. Emerald, FR/LG, Platinum, HG/SS, BW, and BW2 are all amazing and I love them.

Best Pokémon game? Of the standard games not the rom hacks!

Do you recommend playing scarlet and violet? I tried but couldn’t get into it because of the graphical issues :(

In terms of Pokémon games, I recommend Platinum, HeartGold/SoulSilver or Black/White 1 & 2as the perfect jump off point for newcomers. They each have their own problems, but the positives each one provides more than make up for their flaws. I'm biased toward HG/SS as my all-time favorite Pokémon games, to be honest.

Scarlet/Violet's open world structure lends itself to so much replayability. Unless you're indifferent to the story and care so much about the graphics/performance, I think it's a better experience than Sword/Shield and can even be a challenge at times, especially towards the end. Nowhere close to the games I mentioned above, but good compared to the other recent releases that aren't Legends Arceus.

When transferring mons into violet after the dlc dropped I found my oldest (surviving) pokemon.

It was an Unnicknamed Torterra from my original platinum version. Level 98. I had brought him with me throughout the years and seeing his ribbons and the titles they confer nearly made me break down.

The legend ribbon, obtained for beating Red in hg/ss, gives it the title "Torterra the living legend".

And the shock ribbon, the Tuesday ribbon that Julia gives out in sunyshore, makes it "the once-cowardly"

He also has two others, including the OG sinnoh effort ribbon.

He is 12 years old and I haven't seen him probably in 5. I probably shouldn't be reacting as much as I am but something about this is getting me really emotional and I don't think I can put it into words...

But one things for sure. I'm going to help actually train him up and make him a true living legend.

i've been watching anime since i was little, my first one being dragon ball z. i was destined to watch shounen anime it seems.

following this, my first anime crush is goku.

i've been writing since the 6th/7th grade (so anytime since i was 11-13 years old) and roleplaying since the 9th grade (so i was 15-ish) meaning i've been writing and roleplaying for over a decade

i took french class in high school, but i'm only mildly good at speaking and writing it.

my favorite colors are cool colors, like blue, green and purple

my oldest stuffed animal (a floppy eared dog) was given to me by my god father before he moved away. i still talk to him sometimes

my english teacher who taught me in the 5th grade and when she moved up to 7th grade teaching (so i had her twice) read one of my old fanfics and critiqued me in a way that i still use to judge my writing to this day. it's because of her is why i love writing so much

i have a big collection of pokemon cards. i have a giant darkrai card on the front of my binder

pokemon platinum my beloved, but pokemon leaf green was my starter pokemon game (i went back to play HG/SS and ORAS when the remake came out and getting one of those emulator cards)

i was in jrotc (a military class), and took this test that would qualify you to be placed in one of the branches and scored high enough to be in the air force. i was recruited too, but the college i chose didn't have an ROTC program for me so i didn't join (because i wanted to skip the airman/airman first class ranks and move to senior airman for the easy life)

my first gaming console was the nintendo 64

i started rping on tumblr in 2015, so next year will make 10 years ive been writing here <3

Ok so here's a rating of all the legendaries from my most favourite to least favourite.

- I am excluding legendaries from SWSH, USUM, and SV because I haven't fully played those games. I played Sword but got bored with it and gifted my copy of it to my brother and I never touched SV and USUM and don't have the money for them :/ (well.... except for USUM I just don't wanna play that one. I do REALLY wanna play SV tho, I just can't afford it).

- Some XY and SM ones may not be on this list as well but that's because I don't even fully remember them/didn't know they existed until I looked. And I have all of XY blocked out from my memory except for the 3 main legendaries. Same for SM, I really only remember the story in SM. Anywayss, let's go!

1. Suicune! 4Ever was one of my favourite Pokemon movies as a kid and I just really love it's design. I also first played Crystal when I was 13 and using a GB emulator on my phone. I LOVED it! So I got some childhood nostalgia tied to this reasoning.

2. Reshiram. The BW/BW2 games are my favourite games in the entire series. I have tons of nostalgia for the games and are both the second/third Pokemon games I ever beat when I was 10. I hold all of Gen 5 dear to me.

3. Entei. The first Pokemon movie I ever watched was 3 and it was the first movie that ever made me cry. I remember when I was 6 I lived right next to a Family Video (R.I.P.) and they had a free kids movie section. Me and an old friend picked out Pokemon 3 and watched together and it made me SOB. I dealt with severe abuse starting when I was only a few months old that worsened at the age of 4. I was still going through the worse of it. I saw a lot of myself in the main little girl and I desperately wished I had a Entei that protected me. So there's a lot of sentimental reasonings for it.

4. Celebi. Again, 4Ever was one of my favourite movies as a kid so that's why. I also cried while watching that one when I was 7/8.

5. Ho-Oh. So Heartgold was the second Pokemon game I ever owned (it was the 3rd or 4th game I ever played) and it was the first Pokemon game I ever fully beaten. I got the game for my 9th birthday. One of my aunt's bought it for me while my mom paid for SoulSilver which I ended up gifting to my friend after she asked for one (I didn't care and still don't, I have no preference for either I adore both HG and SS).

6. Dialga. Diamond was the first Pokemon game I ever owned and the 2nd or 3rd game I ever played. I sadly never beat it, I got stuck at one of the cities with that pokemon pageant thing and then my copy of the game got lost. Idk how it got lost because I took care of my belongings but at the time my cousin was living with my family and he had a habit of stealing stuff and giving them away so it's most likely that happened but I can't say for sure. I wasn't able to touch another Sinnoh game until I was 16 where I got Platinum for my birthday.

7. Darkrai. So fun fact, as much as I adore the PMD games my favourite Pokemon spin offs are the Ranger games with Shadows Of Almia being my favourite. I got it for Christmas when I was 7 and was ADDICTED to it (so was my mom, she loved "stealing" my DS when I wasn't around and played it lol). And it's design is just cool as fuck it gives me Shadow The Hedgehog vibes.

8. Victini. I LOVED the BW movie when it came out. I remember watching it live on CN. And I was obsessed with Victini as a legendary when I was 11.

9. Latias + Latios. I first watched heroes when I was 10/11 and I ADORED it.

Ok so for the rest of these I don't have any sentimental reasoning as to why I like/dislike them the rest is just based off of the design.

Ok that's my entire list and again if I don't have any on here that's not from SWSH and SV it's most likely because I don't remember them/didn't know they existed. I have played both XY and SM (I beat XY but I never beat SM cuz I couldn't beat Kukui). But the thing with those games is that I was dealing with a lot of mental stuff and trauma while playing both. I blocked out XY mainly because I didn't like it and also I was suffering from severe depression and SM was blocked out due to the fact that I was going through trauma while playing it (I only remember the starters, characters, and story). So a lot of the Pokemon and legendaries from those games were wiped from my memory.

I probably shouldn't have made this list due to these facts but I mostly wanted to share my favourite legendaries (1-28 are my faves, 29-35 I'm neutral on, and everything below I just don't like, design wise anyways).

I'm tied on Gen 4 and Gen 5 for my favourite pokemon gens. Late Gen 4 (Platinum, HG/SS) contains the meatiest amount of enjoyable game content of literally any gen to date; the postgame and sidegame content in those games is insanely robust and its very hard to hit a point where u feel like you've burned through everything worth doing. Gen 5, meanwhile, is imo the best implementation of a new region and new pokemon that Gamefreak's ever done; I genuinely love that u can't play with ur old favorites until the late game, I genuinely love so many of the new pokemon designs, I genuinely love how much character a lot of the locations have. I wish more pokemon gens made you play the way 5 does, its so refreshing.

Gen 7 is a close second to these two, bc it's definitely the best set of games in terms of story. Its got a lot of really tight writing and fun characterization and small clever details that make participating in the plot really feel like a main course instead of a side dish. Also the Ultra Beast stuff fucking rules.

Not to sound crotchety but it really feels to me personally like the first three gens were the sound of the train approaching, gen 4-7 was the train arriving at the station, and now we're listening to the sound of the train dopplering away into the distance.
