https://www.costco.com/microsoft-office-home-2024---plus-%2425-visa-egift-card-e-delivery.product.4000314148.html
If you ever wanted to purchase the 1-time purchase version of Microsoft Home Office, now is your time. Costco has it apparently for $150, ($250 on Microsoft's website) and throws in a bonus Visa gift card, which I can only figure is because they have some agreement not to sell it cheaper than $150 and essentially adding a rebate is the only way to make it even cheaper than that.

Didn't want to live, so I drew another Shinji and added some chromatic aberration bc my ass paid ass money for the CSP update for goddamn idk anymore reasons.
Not quite satisfied with the face but at least the colors look cool ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Character: Shinji Ikari from "Neon Genesis Evangelion"
#shinji ikari#evangelion#neon genesis evangelion#nge#nge fanart#nge shinji#neon genesis fanart#shinji ikari fanart#digital art#my art#time to overuse the chromatic aberration effect bc I lost my money on the update#it was probably another impulse purchase...#dont we just love clip studio and their confusing options to obtain the software / upgrades? :' )#I dont even have the ex version so that means no layer comps for my ass fml

Are there any storyboarding apps that are good and not super expensive or subscription based
#Chatterbomb#I used notability and really liked it but then it wanted me to pay for a subscription#I liked the select few pens (pencil pen and highlighter) and the duplicate function was pretty simple! I liked that I could add an mp3 to#Listen to the audio while boarding and that I could scroll through the pages#I think I would like if the eraser could be more selective with what it erased (like just the pencil or highlighter or pen)#I didn’t like how the quality dropped in transport to a pdf#But notability would’ve been good if it didn’t have a usage limit!! If it was just a one time purchase I’d reconsider but it’s bullshit to#Make a note taking software subscription based!!#I didn’t want to use procreate because it feels too professional to just scribble the ideas down#it also doesn’t have as nice of page layout and it doesn’t select strokes. Which is fine for an art program but I’m looking for something m#Probably more vector based. So the quality isn’t at risk I guess? Would a vector program be better for storyboarding?#Then again I like the pencil for the drawings themself. Idk#Is there a simple solution outside of add making an affordable storyboarding software to my to do list#Storyboarding#should I post on reddit#I feel like that might be too difficult with how closed off it is due to the karma system#art advice#art help#are any of these tags going to help#Boords.com is really good for pdfs (very good formatting imo and clean) it’s just a matter of what software can I use them best in

Going from a well designed, home grown, Spring based application where I can implement a necessary piece of functionality in 5 lines of code to a purchased WYSIWYG "low code" software solution that requires several complex components that all need to interact with each other in extremely unintuitive ways really feels like the software dev equivalent of slowly pushing sharpened bamboo stakes under my goddamned fingernails
#the UX in the purchased product is also absolute dog shit - but god forbid we hire actual devs to develop actual code#instead of just constantly using contractors who specialize in JUST this specific software product to reproduce our home grown work 🙄#im just rambling at this point because im sick of being stuck in endless meetings for this bs

Hot take but if I buy something I think I should own it :/
#Yes this is about digital vs physical media.#I hate digital games and movies I hate subscription services I hate not having a physical tangible disk#If I buy something I don't want a license to use it I want an actual copy of the product!!#No I don't want to subscribe to clip studio to keep getting updates! I hesitated buying the damn thing digitally! I wanted a fucking disk!!#I don't want to subscribe to a game or anything I just wanna buy it (and it should work without needing to download half the damn thing!)#I want disks and cartridges and boxes!!!#I want to own what I purchase without a company threatening to go offline and make me lose access to what I got!!#I want to go to best buy and buy software in a box!! Please!!#ok rant over#I just get mad at the current state of technology sometimes.#Rant on planned obsolescence likely coming soon lol

drew a new avatar because i changed my hair & i strive for accuracy
[and mostly for my future self: the previous versions are here]
#the face of cass#cass draws things#i messed up my right eye in this#but it's definitely better than whatever was going on with my eyes in the old one#also the lineart is bugging me#and i've just realized i must have accidentally deleted the freckle layer#in my defense i drew this on my old macbook on an extremely outdated and laggy version of artrage#because i no longer have photoshop#and i can't run art software on my current macbook because it's not powerful enough#someday when i'm rich* i'll have a computer that can handle fancy art software again#(*by which i just mean ''when have an income that allows me to occasionally save money for a frivolous purchase'')

I hate that my lost media that I'm deeply invested in, is something that only people of my age group and went to public school in Florida can provide any information on. But also the fact that it was a program designed and used in elementary and has a name that brings up school classroom decorations...
#SUNSHINE CLASSROOM WHEN I GET YOU#I had found some info on it in 2019 but I can't remember what I searched cause I lost the page after accessing it#I've tried searching school curriculums; the county's info on software; and even the name of the software that opened Sunshine Classroom#which was called Studentsoft#other people's stuff is like songs and movies they saw as a kid#but mine is some edutainment software that's lost to time and wasn't available for purchase to the general public#BUT I did find launchpad; fcat explorer; destination math and compass learning odyssey#but I also want the weird arithmetic game where you answer different arithmetic math questions to unlock skins for the screen#my class would compete to get the cooler ones and flex which we had based on how far we got into the game#idk the name of that one though#it's very much possible that it was another program that was rebranded around the Sun since I'm in the Sunshine State so idk

well of COURSE my microcontrollor had to die on me Right when i wanted to test it with the rest of the project even though it was working perfectly the day before 🤡
here's a preview if anyone's interested
#uhhhh me#i am so out of my depth. programming the led lights already took all my brainpower#and now i gotta TROUBLESHOOT??#well i guess this is my own fault for accidentally buying a fake arduino#it was so incompatible with the software and apps i wanted to use and it took so much roundabout work to make it...work#like i had to track down a specific usb port app and then use a super old version of the arduino software#and even then it still wouldn't cooperate with some of the other programs#and now it's just like pooping out#and i can't even be sure if it's the board that's dying or the leds#bc there Was an incident where i plugged it in backwards by accident and something flashed red and i panicked and unplugged it#don't know if that was some kind of warning light#anyway. if there are any techy ppl here.#the power light is on when i plug the board in. but when i plug in the ground wire and 5v wire the light dims so much it's basically gone#if only ONE of those wires is plugged in then it's fine#but the moment the other touches the pin then it dims#and needless to say the leds don't turn on at all#i tried using a different outlet#i tried a different usb port#i haven't tried it on my computer yet#is this where i snap and just purchase an actual arduino for real

Dear vocaloid producers/vocaloid users,
Hello, I have planned on buying vocaloid for a whole now but I have some questions.
1. I've heard it's a bit cheaper to buy from the jp store, which is true from my calculations (Google search money conversion). just want confirmation on that.
2. If I were to buy from the JP store, is there a way to change the program to English
These really crazy questions just some confirmations that will make me a bit more comfortable buying it. (That's just how I am)
Thanks in advance.
(Image cause I don't like looking at blank post)

#vocaloid#vocaloid software#Im probably more financially responsible thsn i should be some times cause it leads me ro do stuff like this and delay purchases#vocaloid 6
