Pure Steam Test - Pure Steam Quality Test Service in India | Validair Engineers
Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and healthcare sectors, pure steam plays a vital role in maintaining the sterility and cleanliness of equipment and production environments. It is primarily used for sterilization of equipment, piping, filters, and other sterile surfaces. However, the quality of this pure steam must meet stringent standards to ensure it performs its function without introducing contaminants. That’s where Pure Steam Testing Services come into play.
At Validair Engineers, we provide reliable, efficient, and regulatory-compliant Pure Steam Quality Test Services in India. With years of experience in steam validation and pharmaceutical cleanroom support, our testing procedures ensure your systems operate with the highest level of integrity, safety, and compliance.
What is Pure Steam?
Pure steam is steam that is free from non-condensable gases, particulates, volatile impurities, and other contaminants. It is generated using purified water and is essential in processes where product contamination could have serious consequences. Unlike utility steam, pure steam is used in critical sterilization applications, primarily in autoclaves, cleanroom environments, and sterilizers used in pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
Why is Pure Steam Testing Necessary?
The quality of steam used for sterilization must meet defined standards set by pharmacopeias such as USP, EN285, and HTM 2010. If steam quality is compromised, the sterilization process becomes ineffective, risking product safety, regulatory non-compliance, and potential contamination.
Therefore, Steam Quality Testing is vital to evaluate parameters like:
Non-condensable gases
Superheat levels
Steam dryness fraction
Condensate conductivity and endotoxin levels
These tests ensure that the steam meets the required quality criteria for effective and safe steam sterilization validation.
Types of Pure Steam Testing Services We Offer
Validair Engineers offers a complete suite of Pure Steam Testing Services tailored to pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare industries. Our steam validation experts perform onsite testing using calibrated and compliant equipment.
Steam Dryness Fraction Test: The dryness fraction of steam is a key indicator of its quality. It tells us the proportion of steam in the vapor-liquid mixture. Steam with a low dryness fraction carries excess moisture, reducing its ability to sterilize effectively.
We conduct Steam Dryness Fraction Tests to ensure that the steam used in your sterilizers and cleanroom equipment is sufficiently dry and free from entrained water droplets. This guarantees efficient heat transfer and ensures successful sterilization cycles.
Non-Condensable Gas Test (NCG Test): Non-condensable gases like oxygen and nitrogen do not condense under standard sterilization conditions. Their presence in steam can form insulating layers around surfaces, preventing effective sterilization.
Our Non-Condensable Gas Testing method quantifies the amount of NCGs present in your steam system. High levels of NCGs can be a serious concern and must be addressed immediately to avoid compromising sterilization efficacy.
Superheat Test: Superheated steam is steam that exists at a temperature higher than its saturation point. While it may seem beneficial, superheated steam lacks moisture and cannot transfer heat efficiently, rendering it ineffective for sterilization.
We perform superheat level testing to ensure that the steam is within the acceptable temperature range and exhibits the required saturation level.
Steam Condensate Quality Test: In pharmaceutical production, steam eventually condenses and comes into contact with critical surfaces. Therefore, condensate analysis is crucial. We analyze the condensate for pH, conductivity, and endotoxin levels to ensure it is safe and free from contaminants.
This forms part of our comprehensive Pure Steam Testing Kit services, ensuring your systems are compliant and contamination-free.
Steam Testing in Pharma Industry: Regulatory Standards
In the pharmaceutical industry, compliance with international regulations is mandatory. Steam used for sterilization must meet the criteria defined by:
United States Pharmacopeia (USP)
European Pharmacopeia
EN 285: Sterilization – Steam sterilizers – Large sterilizers
HTM 2010 Guidelines
FDA and cGMP standards
At Validair Engineers, our steam system testing protocols are aligned with these global standards, ensuring you stay inspection-ready at all times.
Applications of Pure Steam in Pharma and Healthcare
Pharmaceutical Sterilization
Pure steam is extensively used in the sterilization of:
Autoclaves
Fermenters
Vessels
Filter housings
Piping systems
Through Steam Sterilization Validation, we verify that the steam conditions effectively kill microbial life across all equipment surfaces.
Biotech Industry: In biotech facilities, maintaining contamination-free environments is non-negotiable. Pure steam is used to sanitize process vessels, piping, and clean-in-place (CIP) systems.
Cleanroom Environments: Cleanrooms require regular sterilization of walls, air ducts, and equipment using validated steam systems. Poor steam quality can result in microbial presence, risking product integrity.
Steam System Testing: How It Works
At Validair Engineers, our experts perform onsite Pure Steam Testing Services using advanced pure steam testing kits and validation tools. The process typically involves:
Initial Site Inspection – Identifying testing points, steam generator, piping layout.

Best Fennel Seed Essential Oil: Discover ACTIZEET’s Pure Power
Discover the benefits of ACTIZEET Fennel Seed Essential Oil. Learn how the best fennel seed essential oil can transform your health and daily routine.
It all started one Sunday afternoon after a particularly indulgent brunch—think chole bhature and sweet lassi. As I sat on the couch, regretting every bite, my stomach protested in full force. That’s when my grandmother handed me a tiny bottle and said, “Just a drop of fennel seed oil in warm water. You’ll thank me later.” And I did.
That moment introduced me to the surprisingly powerful world of fennel seed essential oil, and more recently, to a brand I’ve grown to trust—ACTIZEET. If you’ve ever struggled with digestion, bloating, cramps, or even mental fog, this little elixir might just be your new best friend.
In this blog, we’re diving deep into the benefits, science, and everyday uses of ACTIZEET Fennel Seed Essential Oil—and why it may be the best fennel seed essential oil to add to your wellness kit.
What is Fennel Seed Essential Oil?
Let’s start simple. Fennel seed essential oil is extracted from the seeds of the fennel plant (Foeniculum vulgare) through steam distillation. You probably know fennel seeds as saunf—that aromatic little treat restaurants offer after meals. But distilled into oil, fennel becomes a powerful natural remedy that’s been trusted since ancient Ayurvedic times.
Its warm, sweet, and licorice-like aroma isn’t just comforting—it’s medicinal. And ACTIZEET, with its commitment to purity and traditional extraction methods, offers one of the most potent and therapeutic versions available.
Why ACTIZEET Fennel Seed Essential Oil Stands Out
In a world flooded with essential oils, ACTIZEET brings something rare: authenticity. Here’s what makes it a top contender for the best fennel seed essential oil on the market:
🌱 100% Pure & Natural: No additives. No synthetic fragrances. Just steam-distilled fennel seed oil in its most potent form.
🧪 Lab-Tested for Quality: Ensures safety, purity, and consistent potency in every drop.
🌿 Ethically Sourced: ACTIZEET is committed to sustainable farming and responsible sourcing.
🇮🇳 Rooted in Ayurveda: Inspired by ancient Indian traditions and backed by modern research.
The Science Behind the Magic: How Fennel Seed Oil Works
So what makes fennel seed oil such a powerhouse?
Let’s break it down:
1. Digestive Dynamo
Fennel seed oil is rich in compounds like anethole, which help relax the gastrointestinal tract. That means fewer cramps, less bloating, and better digestion. A 2018 study published in BioMed Research International found fennel extract to be effective in relieving symptoms of IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), particularly bloating and pain.
“One drop in warm water after meals? Game changer for gas and indigestion.” – A common tip among naturopaths.
2. Hormonal Harmony
Fennel mimics the action of estrogen. Women struggling with irregular periods or menopause symptoms have often turned to fennel for support. While you should always consult your doctor, studies suggest fennel can help reduce menstrual discomfort and hot flashes.
3. Antioxidant & Antimicrobial
Thanks to its rich phytochemical profile, fennel oil helps neutralize harmful free radicals. It also exhibits antibacterial properties, making it a great natural remedy for skin infections or minor wounds when diluted.
4. Mental Clarity & Mood Support
That sweet, soothing aroma? It’s not just a sensory delight. Inhaling fennel oil can reduce anxiety and even enhance focus. Aromatherapists often recommend fennel oil for stress relief and emotional balance.
How to Use ACTIZEET Fennel Seed Essential Oil
Whether you're a wellness newbie or a seasoned oil enthusiast, there are plenty of practical ways to use ACTIZEET Fennel Seed Essential Oil:
🌬️ Aromatherapy
Add 2–3 drops to a diffuser during stressful workdays.
Combine with lavender or peppermint oil for a soothing blend.
☕ Digestive Support
Mix 1 drop in warm water (only with proper guidance) after heavy meals.
Blend with coconut oil and massage gently over the abdomen to ease cramps.
🧴 Skincare Booster
Add a drop to your carrier oil or unscented lotion for anti-inflammatory skin benefits.
Use in DIY facial steam blends to reduce puffiness and cleanse pores.
💆 Menstrual Relief
Mix with a carrier oil (like almond or sesame) and massage around the lower abdomen for relief from cramps or bloating.
Final Thoughts: A Small Drop, A Big Shift
Fennel seeds have been a part of Indian households for centuries—but ACTIZEET has distilled that wisdom into a powerful, user-friendly essential oil. Whether you’re battling bloating, seeking mental clarity, or just want to feel more balanced—ACTIZEET Fennel Seed Essential Oil offers a natural, effective solution.
And let’s be honest, isn’t it empowering to know that wellness doesn’t always have to come from a prescription pad? Sometimes, it’s found in a single drop of plant magic.

Why ACTIZEET Best Camphor Essential Oil Is a Must-Have in Your Wellness Kit
Discover how ACTIZEET Best Camphor Essential Oil can transform your health routine. Natural, pure, and packed with benefits — your wellness upgrade awaits!
That Smell Reminds Me of Grandma — A Story That Started It All
There I was, curled up on the couch with a steaming cup of ginger tea, nursing the kind of cold that makes your head feel like a balloon. Out of nowhere, I caught a familiar whiff — sharp, clean, almost minty. My mind immediately traveled back to my childhood when my grandmother would dab a little camphor balm on our chests whenever we had the sniffles. That smell? It was camphor.
Today, I found that same comforting, healing scent — only better — in ACTIZEET Best Camphor Essential Oil.
Let’s talk about why this humble bottle might just be your next wellness bestie.
Why Camphor? And Why ACTIZEET’s Version Is a Game-Changer
Camphor has been used for centuries, particularly in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine. It’s extracted from the wood of the camphor tree and is known for its medicinal aroma and therapeutic benefits. But not all camphor oils are created equal.
ACTIZEET Best Camphor Essential Oil stands out for one reason: purity. No additives, no dilution, no gimmicks — just 100% pure camphor essential oil. It’s like the difference between instant coffee and freshly brewed espresso.
Breaking Down the Science — Without the Jargon
So what makes camphor oil so magical? Let’s keep it simple.
Camphor is rich in compounds like borneol, camphene, and cineole — big names, sure, but think of them as nature’s multitaskers. These compounds have:
Anti-inflammatory properties — which help ease swelling and discomfort
Antiseptic benefits — keeping infections at bay
Decongestant effects — great for when you’re stuffed up
Analgesic actions — a natural way to relieve pain
Now here’s the kicker: many camphor oils lose these benefits because they’re overly processed or mixed with fillers. But ACTIZEET’s oil? It’s steam-distilled and unadulterated — so you get all the benefits, without the fluff.
How to Use ACTIZEET Best Camphor Essential Oil (Without Guesswork)
You don’t need to be an aromatherapy guru to use camphor oil. Here are simple, real-life ways to make it part of your daily life:
1. For That Annoying Cold
Add 2–3 drops to a bowl of hot water
Drape a towel over your head and inhale the steam
Goodbye, stuffy nose!
2. For Sore Muscles
Mix a few drops with a carrier oil like coconut or almond oil
Rub it into sore spots post-workout
Feel that tingle? That’s relief rolling in
3. For a Stressful Day
Add it to a diffuser before bed
Let the soothing aroma melt your stress away
4. For Clearer Skin (Yes, Really!)
Dilute and dab onto acne spots (avoid eyes and broken skin)
Natural antibacterial power at work!
5. For Home Freshness
Add to your mop bucket or laundry rinse
Your home will smell spa-level clean
But Is It Safe? A Gentle Word of Caution
Essential oils are potent. ACTIZEET’s camphor oil is highly concentrated, so a little goes a long way. Always dilute before applying to skin, and keep it away from your eyes and mouth. Pregnant women and young children should consult with a doctor before use.
According to a 2022 review published in Phytotherapy Research, camphor oil can be incredibly effective in topical and inhaled forms but should never be ingested.
What Makes ACTIZEET So Trustworthy?
This isn’t just about camphor — it’s about integrity.
ACTIZEET is a brand that has built a loyal following by prioritizing purity and sustainability. They source high-quality raw ingredients, use eco-friendly production methods, and are totally transparent about what goes into every bottle.
Plus, they batch-test for quality, ensuring you’re getting the real deal every time.
What Customers Are Saying (And It’s Pretty Glowing)
“This oil worked wonders on my sinus headaches. Just a few drops in the diffuser and I felt like I could finally breathe again!” — Meera P., Mumbai
“I used it after a tough workout and my legs felt so much better. This stuff is strong — in a good way!” — Arjun D., Bangalore
“It reminds me of what my mom used when I was a kid. Love how natural and clean it smells.” — Riya M., Delhi
Pro Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your Bottle
Store it in a cool, dark place to maintain potency
Use a glass dropper bottle for easy dilution and application
Combine with lavender or eucalyptus oil for a customized blend

How can STEM programs in schools foster innovation in students?
Imagine a classroom buzzing with creativity as students build robots, code apps, or design eco-friendly solutions. This isn’t a scene from a futuristic movie, it’s the power of STEM education in action. By integrating science, technology, engineering, and math, schools can ignite a spark of innovation in students, equipping them with skills to shape the future.
The Core of Innovation: Problem-Solving Skills
STEM programs are designed to address real-world problems. When students work on STEM projects, they learn to think critically, analyze data, and approach challenges with creativity. For example, a group project on renewable energy might lead students to design a solar-powered gadget, blending engineering with sustainability concepts.
According to a 2023 survey by the National STEM Foundation, 85% of students involved in STEM activities felt more confident in their ability to solve complex problems. This confidence translates into innovative thinking that extends beyond the classroom.
Encouraging Hands-On Learning
Traditional education often relies on rote memorization, but STEM focuses on experiential learning. Students engage in experiments, build prototypes, and test solutions, fostering a “learn by doing” mindset. For instance, creating a weather prediction model using coding teaches programming skills while also deepening their understanding of meteorology.
Such hands-on experiences nurture curiosity and allow students to see the tangible impact of their efforts, which is essential for fostering innovation.
Promoting Collaboration and Communication
STEM projects are rarely solo endeavors. Working in teams teaches students how to communicate effectively, share ideas, and collaborate to achieve a common goal. This mirrors the dynamics of the professional world, where innovation thrives on diverse perspectives and teamwork.explore more
For example, a school robotics competition might bring together students with strengths in coding, design, and problem-solving, resulting in a well-rounded and innovative creation.
Breaking Barriers to Creativity
Contrary to the stereotype that STEM is purely technical, these programs encourage creativity. Designing a 3D-printed object or developing a game involves artistic and imaginative thinking. Schools that integrate STEM with art a concept known as STEAM further enhance students’ ability to think outside the box.
Preparing Students for Future Careers
The global economy is increasingly driven by STEM fields. Careers in technology, healthcare, and engineering require not only technical expertise but also innovative thinking. By exposing students to STEM early, schools prepare them for these opportunities.

Out of Time [6]: Steve x Reader
Series Masterlist with dates on chapter releases - tag list will not be used for this series
Summary: After Steve gets injected with a mysterious substance during a mission gone wrong, you come to find out that the only thing that can save his life is a pure sample of Dr. Erskine’s Super Soldier Serum. Unwilling to let the love of your life die without a fighting chance, you travel through the quantum realm back to 1943. Equipped with little more than your knowledge of past events, you have to figure out just how exactly you’re going to get your hands on that serum. Not only that, but with the infinity stones no longer protecting the reality you’ve come from, there is now a chance that your presence in the past can change the future you’ll return to. Can you succeed without messing things up? And if things go wrong, can you fix it before it’s too late? Or will you run out of time…
Word Count: 6761
Warnings: This part contains smut, Steve is a virgin for obvious reasons, Explicit themes (18+)
The next morning, you meet up with Dr. Erskine first thing to go over the plan for the day, along with Colonel Phillips. The Colonel then calls for a vehicle escort to take you all to where Agent Carter is getting the recruits initiated. The vehicle pulls up just in time for you to see her fist flying into one of the recruit’s face.
You scoff out a laugh, wondering what exactly that guy did to piss her off.
“Agent Carter, I can see that you’re breaking in the candidates. That’s good,” Colonel Phillips announces as he approaches the group. He then proceeds to order the soldier the get himself back up.
You stand next to Dr. Erskine and sweep your eyes over the group. You catch Steve’s gaze for a brief moment before he looks straight ahead at attention. You have to glance down at your clipboard to help fight off your smile.
The Colonel begins to pace in front of the recruits and gives his introductory speech. “We are going to win this war because we have the best… men,” he falters when he pauses and glances over at Steve. He turns to shoot Dr. Erskine with a look. The Doctor has to look away to keep his face neutral. “And because they are going to get better,” the Colonel resumes his pacing. “Much better.”
He continues to explain to the men what exactly they have signed up for. An opportunity to become the man that will lead the Allied forces into winning the war. A man who will be the first in a new breed of Super Soldiers. A man who will personally bring Adolph Hitler to the gates of Hell.
“We will be testing you in just about every aspect you can think of. Strength, endurance, agility, cognition, aptitude... By the end of this week, we will know you better than you know yourselves. You are on the clock from now until we’ve made our decision next Monday. You will follow every single order, explicitly as it is given to you. We tell you to jump, just do it, don’t bother asking how high. We will tell you when to eat. We will tell you when to sleep. Am I making myself perfectly clear?”
“Sir, yes, Sir!” all of the recruits shout simultaneously.
“Sergeant Duffy, you can take it from here,” the Colonel relinquishes control of the recruits to the Drill Sergeant.
“Alright, men! Step into formation!” He orders. “First up is the ropes course! Ready! March!”
You follow after the group, along with Agent Carter. You take notes on the performance and times of each recruit as they complete the course. You bite your lips and cringe inwardly when Steve barely makes it halfway up the rope wall before losing steam. It breaks your heart to have to check the incomplete box next to his name on the paperwork, but you know if you don’t accurately report what’s happening, it will raise several questions with the others.
This is just the beginning of a very long and challenging week. Every day the men are up before dawn, they have 30 minutes to eat breakfast, then they’re jumping right into the next test. Steve’s differences from the others quickly paint a target on his back. One of the recruits, Hodge, the one that Peggy punched on the first day, seems to have a vendetta against him.
You witness Hodge kicking out one of the posts of the barbed wire crawling course, forcing the wires to collapse directly on top of Steve, pinning him down. Sergeant Duffy was quick to put Steve to blame, but you happily wrote a mark against Hodge on his form. You’d definitely be reporting this back to Erskine.
Steve struggles for a few minutes but is eventually able to work himself loose and crawls out of the remainder of the course. You frown when you notice the back of his uniform is cut in several spots. You’re pretty sure you even saw a flash of red.
Later on, the men are given an hour for lunch. As the rest of the group heads for the mess hall, you watch Steve diverge off to the barracks. You rush to your room to grab your first aid kit. You step back out of the officer quarters at the same time he’s leaving the barracks, dressed in a different uniform. You release a quick whistle to catch his attention before jerking your head to the side to indicate he should follow you.
He looks around to make sure no one else has witnessed the interaction before walking over. You take him around the back of the building before ducking behind a series of large crates. “Vic, what are you doing? We’re going to get in trouble,” Steve whispers.
“Sit down and take your shirt off,” you instruct, kneeling on the ground to open your first aid kit.
“There’s no need for that. I’m fine,” he huffs stubbornly.
You fix him with a pointed look. “Steve, the sooner you stop arguing with me, the sooner we’ll be done, and then the less likely we’ll be caught.”
He stares back for a moment before giving in with a dejected sigh. He looks around once more before ducking behind the creates, too. He starts unbuttoning his uniform and turns around to sit cross-legged with his back toward you. Once the shirt is off, you hiss at the sight of the cuts on his back. Most aren’t too bad, but there’s one going across his right shoulder blade that’s deeper than the rest.
“You and I have very different meanings for the term fine,” you scoff.
“It’s really not that bad. Just hurts when I, you know, move…”
You breathe out a laugh, shaking your head at him. There’s that stubborn jerk you know and love. Leaning forward, you press your lips to the back of his neck. He turns his head slightly to glance at you over his shoulder.
“What was that for?”
You smile, “A distraction from the pain.”
He releases a low hum before turning his head back. You disinfect your hands before reaching out to inspect the deeper cut. You prod gently at the skin around the cut. Luckily, it’s not quite as deep as you originally feared and it won’t need stitches.
“This is going to sting,” you warn as you rip open a disinfectant wipe packet. You dab as gently as you can to the cut, but Steve still releases a harsh breath.
“Think I could maybe use another distraction,” he comments, his voice tight.
You oblige with a kiss to the top of his shoulder. Once you’re satisfied that you’ve cleaned up the cut, you pull out your healing spray from Shuri. “This will feel a little cold at first, but then it will start to numb the pain,” you explain before spraying over the wound. You tape a piece of gauze over the cut to keep it protected before moving onto the smaller cuts.
As the gel begins to take effect, the tension in Steve’s shoulders begins to ease. Your concentration breaks when he releases a long sigh. “Vic, what the hell am I doing here?” he asks, sounding dejected.
“You earned your spot, Steve. Same as the rest of them.”
He scoffs dryly. “But I’m nothing like the rest of them.”
“That’s a good thing!” you insist. “Steve, you know that this isn’t just about who’s tallest, fastest, or strongest. Your strengths are up here,” you tap at his temple. “Find a way to use that to your advantage.”
“Can’t exactly think my way out of a push-up…” He sighs, looking off into the distance. “I’m just so tired.”
You’re not surprised. He’s pushing his body past its limits. “I know,” you scratch comfortingly at the short hairs at the nape of his neck. “But it’s just a few more days. I know that you can do this.”
The scratch of your nails on his scalp helps to relax him. “Thanks, Vic. It’s nice knowing there’s someone here that’s on my side.” He looks over his shoulder to meet your gaze once again.
“I’m always on your side. Even when you’re being a stubborn jerk.” You smirk humorously.
He chuckles quietly and lets you finish bandaging him up. The rest of the cuts don’t need as much attention, just a quick spray of the healing gel before covering them with a few bandages, so the gel won’t rub off on his uniform.
“Okay, you’re done,” you tell him, so he can put his uniform shirt back on as you pack up your kit and collect the trash.
He slips the shirt over his shoulders but leaves it unbuttoned as he turns to face you, sitting on his knees. “Can I get one last distraction?”
When you lift your gaze to catch his, he taps a finger to his bottom lip, right where he’s giving you a goofy grin. You match the grin with one of your own before leaning forward on your hands and knees. You tilt your head and press your lips to his. As much as you want to give in to the kiss and spend the whole afternoon with him tucked behind these crates, you know it won’t be long before someone comes looking for the two of you. If you’re caught together it would immediately disqualify Steve from the program, so you keep things short.
Pulling back, you blink your eyes open. Steve’s face looks more relaxed than it has his entire time here. You smile at him encouragingly, “Go show ‘em what you’re made of, Rogers.”
Darting forward, he places one last peck against your lips. “Yes, ma’am.”
He finishes buttoning up his shirt and stands. He looks around to make sure the coast is clear before reaching a hand down to help you to your feet. You have him go first then wait a minute before stepping out from behind the crates and make your way back to your room to put away your first aid kit.
-
Dr. Erskine grabs you during breakfast the next morning to go over the progress on the recruits so far. While you’re in your meeting with him, the recruits are taken on their endurance run around the entire camp. It will take the full morning to complete the round trip. You can’t help but be worried about Steve, especially since you’re not there to watch out for him.
You step back outside to meet up with the recruits at the same time that they are returning from their run. You feel dread pooling deep in your gut when you see Steve sitting in the back of the escort vehicle. As you hurry your approach, you find that he doesn’t appear to be injured. In fact, he looks rather content. Maybe even a little smug.
The vehicle comes to a stop, along with the rest of the recruits. Sergeant Duffy dismisses them to lunch, a rather sour look on his face as he holds a bundled green cloth in his arms. Steve hops out of the back of the truck, confirming your thought that he’s not injured.
“What happened?” you ask as he approaches.
“The Sergeant said that if anyone could bring him the flag at the halfway point, they’d get a ride back the rest of the way. I pulled the pins out of the bottom of the flagpole. Once the pole was on the ground, getting the flag was easy.” He shrugs casually.
You and Dr. Erskine share a look, trying to conceal your smiles to not show favoritism in front of the others.
“That is one way to do it,” Dr. Erskine tells him before you both let him continue to the mess hall for lunch.
The two of you then meet up with Agent Carter to get her notes on the recruits after their run.
By the end of the week, Steve has found a few other areas to shine through. Every time you give Dr. Erskine your reports, you can tell that it’s only helping to affirm his feelings on picking Steve for Project Rebirth. You’re currently watching the recruits running through their afternoon exercises, with Agent Carter leading them through a round of push-ups. Your attention is momentarily pulled away from the group when Dr. Erskine and Colonel Phillips walk up, arguing over Erskine’s apparent choice to pick Steve.
“You don’t win wars with niceness, Doctor,” the Colonel huffs and digs through a weapons create in the back of one of the military trucks. He pulls something out of one of the creates that you can’t quite make out from your position. “You win wars with guts.” In the next second, he tosses the object into the group of recruits. “Grenade!” he shouts and your heart completely stops.
You’re about to dart into the fray as the recruits completely scatter, but then you notice one individual jumping directly onto the grenade. “Get away!” Steve screams, huddling over the explosive device. “Get back!”
Time seems to come to a complete stop as you think that this is the moment you’re going to watch him die. A full second passes, then another. As time seems to start moving once more at a normal pace, you realize that the grenade never went off. Everyone else seems to come to this conclusion at the same time and Steve begins to push himself out of his huddled position.
“It was a dummy grenade,” one of the other soldiers announce and everyone begins to collect themselves. “All clear.”
You find yourself releasing the breath you didn’t even realize you were holding.
Steve looks around in confusion. “Is this a test?” he asks.
You look over to Dr. Erskine and Colonel Phillips to find the two in a staring match. “He’s still skinny,” the Colonel mutters before walking around the doctor and heads off. Erskine watches his movements, trying to hold back a smile of amusement. Once the Colonel is out of sight, he gives that smile to Steve
-
It’s your last night at Camp Lehigh and you can’t even pretend to fall asleep. You should feel relief, knowing that Steve was successful in getting chosen for Project Rebirth. And a part of you is. But this means that tomorrow is your last day here in this time. Tomorrow is the whole reason you even ventured back into 1943. Tomorrow is your one shot at getting the serum. Tomorrow… you go home.
Unable to stand one more second laying still in your bed, you push yourself up and move the blankets off your legs. Peggy is fast asleep in her own cot, but she’s a light sleeper, so you try not to make too much noise as you slip out of bed. You grab your silk robe to throw over your nightgown once you’ve stepped out of the room. You twist the knob of the door as you carefully pull it shut, so it won’t click. You then walk barefoot out of the Officer Quarters and make your way over to the barracks. As you approach the main door, you pause when it opens on its own.
Dr. Erskine steps out, and he catches you standing there. He chuckles quietly, holding the door open for you. “Don’t keep him up too late.”
An embarrassed smile crosses your face. “I won’t, Doctor.” You slip inside before the door shuts behind you.
Steve is sitting on the side of his cot, with his back toward the door. He looks over his shoulder as you approach, quickly standing to his feet when he sees it’s you. “Vic!”
As soon as he’s within reach, your hands dart out to yank him close. You wrap your arms around his chest and bury your face into his neck, holding him tight. He stiffens at first, before relaxing into your hold.
“Is this my congratulations?” he asks with a gentle laugh.
“This is because you jumped on top of a grenade, like an idiot, and scared me half to death!” You squeeze him a little tighter. “I need to know that you’re okay,” you mumble against the side of his neck, breathing in his familiar scent.
“Sorry,” he apologizes, wrapping his arms around your waist.
When you feel the comfort of his nearness beginning to seep into you, you lean back and unwrap an arm to hold the side of his face. “This is your congratulations,” you say before placing your lips over his.
His arms tighten around your waist as he kisses back eagerly. “God, I missed having you so close,” he whispers against your lips.
Instead of his words causing you comfort, they hit you with a cold dose of reality. You pull back with a snap, your breath hitching.
“What’s wrong?” Steve asks, looking at you with concern.
You feel the pain in your chest like a knife to your heart, and you’re sure it’s plain to see on your face. “Steve, there’s something I need to tell you,” you confess.
His eyes become cautious and guarded. “What is it?”
You release a shaky breath, feeling the tears already beginning to well in your eyes. “After the procedure tomorrow… I have to go away.”
“Go away?” he repeats, brows furrowing. “You’re getting reassigned?”
“I-” you start before cutting yourself off. You know you can’t tell him the full truth. He wouldn’t understand. “Yes,” you force out. “I’m getting reassigned.”
His gaze flickers between yours, trying to get a read on anything that you can give him. “Well, where to? Maybe I can get assigned there also.”
You shake your head, your lips trembling as you attempt to fight off your tears. “No, you can’t. It’s something I have to do alone.”
He looks like he still doesn’t understand. “So, what does that mean for us?”
You exhale sharply, looking up as a last-ditch effort to keep the tears from falling. “It means we won’t see each other again.”
“Ever?”
All of your efforts begin to fail when your gaze drops to his once more and you see the look on his face. He looks absolutely heartbroken. You feel that knife in your chest dig a little deeper. “Not for a long time.”
He watches as you begin to fall apart in his arms, but he just can’t accept it. Steve Rogers never gives up on anything. “No, we can find a way to make it work. I’ll talk with Dr. Erskine and Colonel Phillips after the procedure. If it works, they’ll have to say yes, right? And even if they say no, we can still write letters to each other. This doesn’t have to be-”
“Steve,” you cut in. You can’t allow him to get his hopes us. “This is our last night.”
His breaths come in quick like he’s gearing up for a fight, but when he sees the raw pain in your eyes, he knows that now isn’t the time for arguing. Maybe he can change your mind before tomorrow. Maybe he can’t. If this truly is the end… “Then, let’s make the most of it.”
His hands cradle your cheeks before he pulls your face against his. He’s in complete control of this kiss and you are more than happy to submit to him. You’re not sure where this sudden burst of confidence has come from, but you are reveling in it. His hands slip from your cheeks, down your neck, and over your shoulders. He pushes against your robe until it’s falling to the floor.
The two of you stumble over to his cot, not wanting to part, as your hands roam over each other’s bodies. Your hands slip beneath his white SSR t-shirt before they crawl up his stomach. He releases you just long enough to tuck his dog tags inside the shirt before he helps you pull it off. He sits in the middle of the mattress and you crawl to sit on his lap, your nightgown bunching up at your thighs.
You hover over him, hands on his shoulders as you barely skim your lips against his. He stretches his neck up as you tease, trying to get more from you. Your lips split into a grin before your tongue darts out to swipe straight up the middle of his mouth. His hands shake when they grip your hips.
“Have you done this before?” he asks breathlessly.
You stop your movements and pull back to meet his gaze. “I have,” you confirm. “Does that bother you?”
He shakes his head fervently. “Oh, no,” he insists, squeezing your hips a little tighter. “As long as it doesn’t bother you that I haven’t…” He drops his gaze for a moment.
Your lips spread into a sweet smile and you run your fingers through his hair, lifting his gaze back up. “That doesn’t bother me at all, Steve,” you assure him.
He worries his bottom lip between his teeth, and you can tell he has more to say, so you wait patiently for him. “Bucky once told me that sometimes women don’t feel pleasure if you don’t do it right.” He pauses, looking at you with concern. “Will you teach me?”
You look at him with so much tender affection, he can feel it in his soul. “Of course.” You settle yourself a little more comfortably over his lap, with your knees framing his hips. “Just start by touching me.”
He glances down at where his hands rest at your hips, then his eyes travel back up the length of your body. “Where?” he questions.
“Everywhere.” Leaning back down, you capture his lips and kiss him fiercely.
His hands seem to take on a life of their own. They trail up your sides, exploring your curves so delicately, one would think you were made a glass. They skim just past the edge of your breasts, not quite brave enough to venture there quite yet. He traces the dip of your collar bone and the bend of your shoulders. As you continue to mold your mouth to his, he uses the touch of his fingers to paint the image of your body in his mind.
His hands then skim down your back, fingers spread wide so as not to miss a single inch. They come to a stop just below the curve of your lower back. Pulling out of your kiss, you breathe heavily as you catch his hooded gaze. Releasing his shoulders, you reach back and grip each of his wrists. Continuing to hold his gaze, you push his hands down even further until they are well and truly settled over the globes of your ass.
Steve’s breath hitches and his pupils dilate completely. He may not realize it yet, but you know your man has a thing for your ass. You grin deviously when you feel his hands squeeze. You rock your hips encouragingly, rubbing up on the erection that’s begun forming in his pants. He grunts in surprise at the sensations running through him and he squeezes your ass again. He feels like his heart is about to beat right out of his chest, it’s pounding so hard.
Wanting to touch even more of you, Steve’s hands glide down your thighs and slip under the hem of your satin nightgown. He moves at a pace slower than a snail as he moves back up your legs. His fingertips brush the curve of your ass once more, and when he expects to feel cloth again, he finds nothing but skin. His lips part in shock. “You’re not wearing underwear…” he realizes.
You can’t help the short giggle that slips out. “No, I’m not,” you confirm.
He swallows thickly, trying to process that information. “Do you do that a lot?” he questions, wondering how many nights you’ve shared a bed together like this.
“Sometimes,” you respond cryptically.
He releases a shaky breath, “Oh God, I’m going to hell for this.”
You laugh, wrapping your arms loosely around his neck. “Well, then we can go together.”
“Can…” his mouth has gone dry and his voice cracks. He has to clear his throat to try again. “Can I see you?”
“You can if you take off my nightgown,” you grin cheekily.
He fumbles a little, getting the satin material up to your waist. You help him remove the gown and let it fall to the floor. And suddenly Steve has a very naked woman sitting over him. After a quick glance over you, he quickly realizes that he could spend hours looking over your body and would never grow bored. He could explore you as he would an art museum. Looking for every single minuscule little detail within the great masterpiece. Lose himself in the curve of your hip, or the swell of your breasts, or between your thighs.
You notice where his gaze drops to and recognize the curious interest in his eyes. You take one of his hands back in yours and slowly bring it to the junction of your thighs. His fingers slide over your folds and he inhales sharply.
“You’re wet…” he surmises.
“I am,” you confirm with a laugh.
His fingers do a little exploring over the area. “Are women always wet like this?”
“No, not like this. It’s mostly just during arousal. It helps to act as a natural lubricant,” you attempt to explain while he’s got his hands on you.
“Where do I… go in?” he questions, his face flushing. He feels like he’s failing in class. Isn’t there some sort of primal instinct that’s supposed to kick in or something?
You smile in understanding and guide him to where he needs to be. “Just press gently,” you encourage. He does as you’ve instructed and slowly, his finger pushes in. Your lips part and you release the sweetest little mewl as your body welcomes him. “Add a second finger,” you urge, more than ready for the satisfying stretch your body has been craving from the moment of arousal.
It’s been a while since you’ve gone this long without sex. Especially since you’d been on that recon mission with the team for several weeks even before coming to 1943. Your body was begging for a little action. You have a brief flicker of thought on whether or not this is technically considered cheating, but then Steve flicks his fingers experimentally, hitting your g-spot, and all other thought promptly falls straight out of your head.
“Oh, right there! Steve, touch me right there!”
Steve doesn’t know if he should be watching what he’s doing with his hand or if he can just stare at your face. You’re absolutely breathtaking. Neck stretched, lips parted, eyes closed. You’re a picture of pure bliss. Your hips begin to rock against his fingers as your body tries to chase after its first orgasm. Reaching down for his hand once more, you position his thumb over your aching clit.
“Rub that in little circles.” You’re growing more and more breathless the longer he plays with you. The sounds coming out of you are so sweet, Steve can nearly taste the sugar in the air. You try not to be too loud, knowing there’s night patrol walking around the camp and you don’t want to call their attention. “Oh, Steve. That-” your voice drops with a sharp exhale. “That feels so good.”
Your hips stutter against his touch and your breasts heave with every breath. Steve is mesmerized by you. He’s not sure what drives him to do it, be it that instinct finally kicking in, or purely an insatiable need, but he leans forward and takes one of your breasts into his mouth. This must be the correct move because the sound that rips out of you shoots straight to his throbbing cock. Your hands dive into his hair, tugging and gripping at the strands, but also keeping him close and encouraging him.
Steve does his best to divide his attention, keeping his hand moving between your legs while he mouths at your breast. He tries to keep his teeth out of the equation, unsure if that will hurt you. He sucks your nipple into his mouth and laves his tongue over the hardened bud. His other hand reaches back down to grab at your ass once more. He uses that hand as leverage to keep you close and encourage the way you rock into his probing fingers.
“Oh yes! Right there, Steve! Don’t stop!”
He’s not entirely sure which area you’re referring to, so he keeps up with it all. He sucks even harder on your breast, circling his tongue around the sensitive bud. His hand between your legs is beginning to grow tired, but he doesn’t dare stop, and he continues to squeeze and push the globe of your ass.
Your voice continues to rise in pitch the closer you get to your peak. “Oh my God! Oh, Steve! Yes! Yes!” And suddenly, your body is tensing above him and your walls spasm around his fingers. Your climax hits you like a splash of paint on a blank canvas. You’re seeing all sorts of colors and swirls behind your closed eyelids. You hold onto him tight, afraid that if you let go, you’ll get whisked away.
He pulls away from your breast, not wanting to miss the sight of your euphoria, but he continues the movement of his hands. His fingers are pushed in deep, stroking at your quivering walls and thumbing at your clit. Your entire body shakes around him. Steve feels like he’s strung so tight that he may just join you with the barest hint of touch to his straining cock.
“Okay, okay,” you ease, gripping at his wrist as your body begins to come down from your high. He’s more than happy to keep going, but you’re going to go nuts from over-sensitivity if he keeps it up. “That was good,” you huff with a breathless laugh, guiding his hand to gently pull out from between your legs. “So good…” you drop your head unceremoniously to his shoulder, needing a second to collect yourself.
He feels your breath fan across his chest, sending tingles in its wake. “I didn’t kill you, right?” he asks jokingly.
You giggle breathlessly, lifting your head back up. “No. You were perfect.” Cupping his face in your hands, you slant your lips over his in a sloppy kiss and start to lean forward until Steve falls back against his pillow. Your mouth drags away from his, over the side of his jaw and down his neck.
“What are you doing now?” Steve asks as your lips ghost down the center of his chest.
You place a kiss just above his belly button before grinning up at him devilishly. “Now I’m going to do you.” Your fingers hook into the waistband of his pants, popping the top button and dragging down the zipper. In one move, you pull his pants and boxers off his legs, allowing them to join the remainder of your clothes on the floor. Steve’s cock is hard and ready for you, laying against his abdomen. He’s not as thick as you’re used to, but he’s definitely got more length than you were expecting. He’s also got a bit of an upward curve right now that seems to have gone away after the girth built up.
Your gaze flickers up to see that he’s watching you intently for your reaction. You give him just the barest hint of a smirk before you lean down and drag your tongue over him from base to tip. His lips part in a shaky breath and he throws his head back. You swipe over the very end of his tip, getting a taste of the pre-cum that’s dribbling out of his head. You wrap your fingers around his base to hold him steady before you take him into your mouth.
“Good God!” he cries out, hips jerking up and his back arching. He grips the bedsheets, his knuckles immediately turning white as he squeezes his eyes shut. He’s never felt anything like this before and he knows that it’s way too much. “Vic, honey, you gotta stop,” he begs despite the way his body thrusts up into your hot mouth. “I won’t last,” he shakes his head fervently, the muscles in his neck and shoulders tensing up.
Having mercy on him, you release him with a parting lick to the slit on his head. You keep your hand wrapped around him as you sit up on your knees and begin to get yourself into position above him. “Are you sure you want to do this?” you ask for his consent one last time before it becomes too late.
His eyes blink back open and meet yours before he nods. “Yes, I want this,” he confirms. “I want you, Vic.”
You smile sincerely and move to line him up with your entrance. His tip has just barely brushed against your slick folds when he jolts and tightly grips your hip.
“Wait! Wait,” he rushes, making you pause. You’re about to move off of him, but his grip holds you steady. “I’m not wearing a condom,” he tells you in a hurry before you’ll think he’s backing out. “I don’t even have one…”
Your muscles relax as you laugh lightly. “It’s okay. I have birth control.”
His brows furrow in confusion. “What is that?”
You realize too late that modern birth control hasn’t been invented yet. “Uhm… well, I have an IUD. It’s like a small device inside me that releases a certain type of hormone that prevents fertilization.”
“Oh,” he states simply, but wonders why he’s never heard of anything like that before. It certainly sounds handy. “And that’s effective?”
“Yes,” you smile in amusement. “So, can I…” you glance down to where you’re still holding him.
“Oh, yeah. Right. Go ahead.” His cheeks flare with embarrassment.
You giggle at his awkwardness. “You’re so adorable.”
He winces slightly at that, his cheeks only getting hotter. “Not exactly the words most men want to hear when you’ve got your hands on his penis.”
You laugh again and stroke his length in a comforting gesture. “Well, you’re not most men.” You settle back over him and align his tip against your entrance. “You’re my man.” With that said, you begin to sink down onto him. Your body welcomes every single inch that fills you until he’s pushed in to the hilt.
“Oh wow…” he breathes, hands gripping your hips even tighter.
“You okay?” you ask a little breathlessly, your body thrumming with sexual energy.
“Yeah…” he responds brokenly, trying to hang onto his last shred of control. He’s never felt anything like this before, there aren’t even enough words to describe what he’s feeling. Good is an understatement. Great is way off the mark. Euphoric might be close, but it still seems to fall short.
You give him a second to get used to the feeling of being inside you. Your fingers glide up his flat stomach and over the ridges of his ribcage. Sure, this body is smaller than you’re used to, but he’s definitely not as delicate as everyone has been made out to believe. This last week has certainly taught you that much. No matter what got thrown at him and no matter how hard he took a beating, Steve still managed to persevere. He picked himself back up and he kept moving forward. His inner strength somehow manages to shine brighter when he doesn’t have the muscles to back it up. Even though you’d been scared out of your mind when he jumped on that grenade, you’re also so incredibly proud of him.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” he asks, causing your gaze to lift back up to meet his.
“Like what?” you question, wondering what he’s reading off your expression.
“Like I’m the only man in the whole world that matters.”
The love that you feel for him in your heart swells like a balloon. You lean forward, cupping his cheeks in your hands, and brush your nose against his. “Because you are,” your words caress his lips moments before you capture them.
You start to move your hips in slow circles, taking great pleasure in the way he twitches inside you. His hands squeeze your hips before they fall back down to your ass. He uses his grip as leverage to start rocking up into you. His movements are a little sloppy, more of a reaction rather than a coordinated effort. It feels good either way and you have to pull your lips back to release the delighted gasp that’s desperate to escape.
Your hands reach up to grip the metal bar from the bed frame as you find a rhythm to grind down against Steve’s gentle thrusts. His parted lips are swollen and red from your kisses as they release stunted gasps and heady grunts from deep within his chest. His heart is pounding so fast, he thinks it might just burst, but if this is the last thing he ever gets to experience before he dies, it will be well worth it.
“Can I go faster?” you ask with a needy whimper.
Steve thinks he may pass out, but because he’s a sucker for pain, he nods his head fervently. Your grip on the bed frame tightens and the muscles in your thighs quiver as you begin to bounce yourself on his cock. “Oh shit!” Steve’s eyes roll back as unimaginable pleasure sparks through him. Every time you slam down on his cock it sends a bolt of electricity licking up his spine. He brings his knees up and digs his heels into the mattress, so he can meet you thrust for thrust. Just about every muscle in his body is screaming in protest from this past week of hard training, but he pushes through the pain because the pleasure is way too good to stop now.
Your body pulls him in so deep, he feels like he’s going to fall into you. And maybe, he already has. These last two weeks he’s spent with you have felt like a dream. You dropped into his lap like a fallen angel and every moment since has been pure fantasy. You seem to embody everything he ever hoped he could get out of a partner. You saw him for the man he actually is, not the one you wished he could be. You treated his jagged and broken edges with gentle understanding and care, instead of choosing to throw him out with the trash like so many others had before.
You made him feel like a man capable of giving and receiving love and affection. You weren’t just a flickering candle in the dark. You were a bright, shining beacon, like a lighthouse in a storm. Your light chased away his insecurities and made him believe that he could do the impossible. He wanted to spend every day of the rest of his life basking in your radiance.
“Steve! Oh my- Oh!” Your back arches and your entire body quakes with the power of the orgasm that crashes through you.
The way you clamp around him has Steve seeing stars. Just a few more quick thrusts and he’s emptying himself into you. Your bodies quiver in tandem as your hold on the bed frame weakens before you collapse against his chest. You’re both sweaty and your skin sticks together, but neither of you seems to mind.
“That…” he starts, in between his heaving breaths. “Was pretty incredible.”
You release a tired giggle and attempt to move at least part of your weight off of him. There’s not much room to go anywhere on the tiny, single-person cot, though. His hands slide up from your ass, to curl around your waist, and he keeps you close. His cock, limp and satiated, slips out from your folds when you shift back, landing with a wet slap against his thigh. You can feel a dribble of his thick cum beginning to leak out from between your legs, but you are entirely too worn-out to do anything about it.
You’re already half asleep by the time Steve tries to coax you up enough to be able to peel back the blanket and sheets on the bed. You tuck your head under his chin and slide a knee between his legs, relishing in the feeling of getting to sleep in his arms one more time. Your sigh of content is the last thing Steve hears before he falls asleep.

Scenic Route 6/47

“Why name her BB8?”
“She was the eighth of a litter—we tried to call her anything else but that’s all she would respond to, so BB8 stuck,”
Rey was happy to give the dog a few scratches. The big ball of affection didn’t hesitate to throw an old tennis ball at her feet, along with a sock, a rubber duck, and even a fork she had pilfered from the kitchen in place of a stick.
The duck squeaked as she grabbed it, and Rey burst into a laugh of pure joy. How could she have been so mistrustful of an old woman who owned such an adorable dog?
“Why did your brother leave you his dog?”
“She was injured by a hit-and-run and I rushed her to the vet, but he eventually had to leave her to get back to his professional obligations at the time. It hurt him to leave her behind but we both knew she was in good hands. Since then I’ve been looking for an opportunity to take her back, but I’m in no shape to make the journey myself anymore.”
Rey said nothing as she watched the charming dog go round and round on the carpet as she waited for Rey to play with her some more. Leia put down her steaming teacup.
“So, Rose sent you, right? Are you close friends?”
“Not at all, actually. I just happened to be at her café at the right time. We talked a bit, I mentioned my travels and my personal life, and she said you have a job to give me,” Rey chuckled, going a little red.
“I was worried it was a con—drugs, guns, something illegal. But everything’s alright, I love BB8. I’d love to take her on the route with me, she’ll be good company. Always a good idea to have a dog when travelling solo. “
“Well, I’m not sure she’ll be an effective guard dog, you know,” Leia smiled.
“Oh, no worries, her presence is enough, at worst she’ll be more bark than bite! How urgently would I have to take her to San Francisco?”
“She’s already six months late, a few more weeks wouldn’t matter…are you comfortable with the detour?”
Rey tucked a lock of hair behind her ear as she adjusted her topknot, ruminating on her response.
“I wanted to go up to Yellowstone National Park, and then Montana. Take a trek, do some rafting or some horse riding, something like that. I also wanted to check out some ghost towns, see a rodeo, maybe a powwow? Then make my way down to Idaho and Nevada. Take my time, you know. Would that be a problem for BB8?”
“Not as long as she makes it back to Luke—my brother—in one piece,” Leia waved a hand dismissively, “I’m sure it’s going to be a lovely trip. I wish I was your age so I could go globetrotting too,”
Rey laughed, glancing from one photo to another. “Weren’t you in the army? I’m sure you traveled a lot…on that note, Rose mentioned a car?”
Leia got up and motioned for Rey to follow her. “Yes, it too belonged to my brother. You’ll need to take it to California too, and it’s not doing quite as well as our friend BB8. I’m afraid it’s not exactly the most recent make and model,”
Rey followed Leia outside the house. They were taking a walk, it seemed. BB8 trotted along happily, occasionally snapping at the insects circling in the plants. It sat in a five by five plot of land in the middle of the garden on the other side of the house. Rey had mistaken it for a supplementary garbage disposal unit. An oldsmobile cruiser—exactly like the ones that at one point had been the very height of the 70s. It screamed vintage, from the boxy silhouette to the oversized bonnet which was as long as the boot itself. The car had been white at some point, though the paint had certainly faded. It was complete with brown accents and a classic wood motif on the side, which made Rey cringe. She turned to Leia with a disapproving look.
“You have got to be joking here. I thought your brother left you this hunk of junk to dispose of at some junkyard, not to give right back to him,”
“Well then,” Leia huffed, “all the more reason to do it, right? You know me, if he wanted to make a trash compactor out of me I really want to see his face when this baby shows up in his driveway again.”
Rey wasn’t sure if Leia was about to make a huge mistake. “This thing surely isn’t functioning anymore, is it? You’d make more money selling it to a junkyard than letting it collect dust in your garden.” Rey looked around again, “You could plant a lovely vegetable garden or whatnot instead, I’m sure you have a green thumb,”
“It was my husband’s,” Leia said wistfully, and Rey realized that she wasn’t kidding. “It was his pride and joy, he would fix it up himself back in the day. He loved that thing so much. And the life we had, all the crazy things we would do in that car…I didn’t have the heart to scrap it, it would be like killing him all over again.”
“He died? I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to offend you—“
“It’s fine,” Leia said, running her hand across the side panel in a gentle caress. “You had no way of knowing. He and my brother went the whole nine yards in this thing. It’ll get back to him somehow,”
“Alright, fine,” Rey conceded, “I understand, I’ll take the hunk of junk and the dog to San Francisco, no worries. Do you have the papers as well?”
“Yes, they’re inside, let’s head back,”
After reviewing the vehicle registration and the owner’s manual (all of which were still up to date, not that she would have bet so) and following multiple assurances and other formalities, Rey found herself feeling something new inside. This would give her the solo road trip she always wanted, and an adorable dog to keep her company, in literally the most vintage American car she could have ever imagined. She had always been a good driver and a car person, so she looked forward to driving a proper stick shift. It had been a good while since she last drove one and it only added to the excitement of the trip. Against all odds and expectations, Rey was actually quite a clever and resourceful mechanic, thank you very much. She knew how to change the tires and the oil, and how to identify the source of most engine trouble. Simple things, really, but things that she would almost certainly have to do with this car. As for the rest of it, she would definitely have to invest in a good pair of sunglasses and a very wide-brimmed hat because the interior wasn’t air-conditioned at all. And water. Lots and lots of water. Maybe even a jerry or two of motor oil and petrol. And an emergency kit in case she really did get a flat tire. She was finally beginning to get goosebumps about this. Nevertheless, one detail remained to be settled.
“Pardon me if I’m being too frank Leia, but Rose mentioned some compensation, is that right?”
Leia was currently reassembling a dossier full of documents that Rey had decided not to take. She put it down gently. “Yes, I’ll be providing you with 500 dollars up front for your services. That should also cover the gaz change. Luke will give you the rest once he’s sure that BB8 is safe and sound.”
One thousand dollars wouldn’t cover all Rey’s costs, what with meals and motels and extra gaz. But she could make do, considering that a few days ago she was looking at spending twice as much just to loan a car. It would work out. It didn’t have to be a job per se, it could be…community service, absolutely.
Rey nodded, and Leia closed the dossier with a soft click.
“I’ll leave tomorrow then,” Rey said, deep in thought, “It’ll give me a whole day to make some purchases for the rest of the trip. Would you mind if I took the car? It could be a test drive as well…”
The afternoon was filled with what could only be called intense shopping. Her list consisted of mechanic’s tools, camping gear, sunblock, ration packs, a first-aid kit, dog biscuits, and even a cheap mountable stereo. She then purchased several CDs for the long road ahead, including a three disc deluxe album of the one and only KYLO & THE KNIGHTS OF REN, which she would no doubt regret impulse-buying later.
The car was at best dusty and stale, despite the little tree-shaped air freshener hanging from the front mirror. Too little too late to undo a decade’s worth of rotting in Leia Skywalker’s garden. Rey took it upon herself to take it to a carwash and have it cleaned from the inside out. There was no telling what they would find. Earlier she had found a toy in between the back seats—a shiny red racecar that she’d shoved into the GB.
Getting ready took up most of her afternoon. She packed the car up with all her supplies and even made a little “doggie corner” for BB8 in the back seat. It was complete with a crochet blanket in case she got cold, a food bowl, her squeaky rubber duck, a tennis ball, and a single shoe. Everything was ready by the time that Leia called them back inside for dinner.
It was as though Rey was at her own grandmother’s house, despite the fact that she had only really known the woman for a couple of hours. She came back into the cottage to find a steaming bowl of spaghetti waiting for her. After a long day’s work, it was truly heaven.
“So, do you know Rose well, then?” Rey managed to ask after she had finished stuffing her face and regaining her strength.
Leia took a while to respond, prompting Rey to wonder what was so hard about the question. Finally, Leia raised her eyes after a long moment of reflection. “She and I both operate in a charity organization based out of Denver. That’s how I know her.”
“Oh! What kind of charity? meals for the poor or something?”
“Not exactly…”
Rey waited politely for an explanation but Leia seemed reluctant to answer. She pressed on, “Well? Come on now, surely you could elaborate a little?”
“It’s called Earth Soldiers,” Leia responded suddenly. She wasn’t smiling anymore, much to Rey’s surprise. “You could call us a group of…hardcore environmental rights activists.”
“So like GreenPeace? Protesting power plants-and chaining yourself to property sort of activists?”
“Sure, you can think of it like that if you want,”
Rey was all full belly and drooping eyelids by then; she failed to notice the tension building in the room.
“But isn’t that dangerous at your age? Can you still attend the happenings or whatever they are?” Rey continued.
Leia’s gaze hardened imperceptibly. “I’ve spent my whole life fighting and I want to go down swinging,” she replied.
“Ah, I see. I imagined that after a life as full as yours you would have liked to take a break, but everyone is different, I guess,”
In response Leia simply began picking up her own empty plate so that she could start attending to the dishes. Rey tried her best to help by drying the dishes afterward and putting them away. Later, after spending a few minutes on her phone, Rey yawned loudly and excused herself for the night.
“Sorry, I should probably get to bed. May I set up the camping tent in the garden?”
“Just set up in the living room, that way you won’t get cold or have to take down a tent tomorrow. And you won’t have to hear the drunk ravings of the neighbors next door,”
“Alright, BB8 and I will leave after breakfast in the morning, goodnight Leia,”
“Good night, young lady.”
Rey rested her head on her new inflatable camping pillow, curled up snugly in her brand new sleeping bag. The carpeted floor would do for now. She was going to have to get used to sleeping on the floor soon. BB8 curled up into a ball too, sleeping on the couch after realizing that her dinner bowl was nowhere to be found (it was still in the car). Rey fell into a deep sleep. This was the first night she had not been anxious about the future, barring of course the night she was too drunk to remember—that didn’t count.
Late into the night, a coyote wandered the sleeping trailer park, an unfortunate shrew in its jaws.
Much further away, in the heart of Denver, Ben Solo performed another concert at Howl at the Moon, and Rose left the night shift at the Night Owl Café to her sister, Paige.
Their next door neighbor George Watto had started his nightly ramblings no later than three in the morning, eventually falling asleep at his own front door, fully dressed and armed with a beer bottle like a true American hero. In the quiet little cottage next door, Rey slept soundly in the living room while Leia found no sleep in the bedroom next to it.
Tomorrow, she would send that girl off to Luke in San Francisco. It was too late to go back. After years of careful political maneuvering, her entire life’s work hinged on the whims of a random British tourist who decided to vacation here of all places. What if they discovered her little honey pot scheme? What if they laid a hand on…
It was somewhere in the middle of this tiring web of entirely disquieting thoughts that Leia Skywalker fell into a short and fitful slumber.

From the Strategist: 21 Best Grilling Gifts for Every Type of Grilling Enthusiast

Photo: ClassicStock/Getty Images
All the grills and grilling accessories a grill master could want, from the Strategist
At its most basic, grilling is cooking on an open flame, like what our prehistoric ancestors used to do, but if you’re not the kind of person who takes pleasure in lighting charcoal on fire and then cooking big slabs of meat on it, you might be struggling to find the best grilling gifts for someone who does. (Though even self-described grill enthusiasts sometimes need help finding an actually useful but still unique grilling gift.) So to make it easy, we rounded up 21 of the best grills and grilling accessories that would be excellent gifts for the person in your life who likes to fire it up.
For the griller who struggles with lighting charcoal

BBQ Dragon Cordless Grill Fan in Silver
Jean-Paul Bourgeois of New York City’s Blue Smoke calls the BBQ Dragon, “a fire starter’s best friend. This easy-to-use little gadget will clip onto any grill or smoker and assist you in getting those coals burning fast and evenly.”
For the griller who mostly cooks with charcoal

Panacea 15343 Ash Bucket With Shovel, Black
If anyone plays a little fast and loose with the disposal of coals, or wants a safer way to do it, this steel ash bucket will help prevent accidents. As Hugh Magnum, pitmaster at Mighty Quinn’s Barbecue, explains, “It sometimes takes as long as two days for coals to be completely cold, so you don’t put any coals for at least two days into a trash bag, or else that trash bag will go up in flames.”
For the griller who’s terrified of burns

Artisan Griller Insulated Cooking Gloves
Writer Caitlin M. O’Shaughnessy was introduced to these pit gloves by her mother, who used them to take a full turkey out of the oven. “The cotton-lined gloves are coated with neoprene rubber and designed for true-blue barbecuers who have to handle hot meat on the smoker — that means they’re also waterproof, stainproof, and (most importantly) greaseproof.” They also come recommended by Patrick Martin of Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint in Nashville, who actually prefers these heavy-duty gloves to tongs, especially when working with big cuts of meat, like whole hogs.
For the griller who’s looking to streamline

Stingray 7 in 1 BBQ Tool
Swap out the tool kit for this 7-in-1 grilling tool, recommended by self-described “pretty competent outdoor griller” Steven John, who calls this “the Swiss Army knife of grilling equipment, combining all three tools and even sporting a bottle opener built into its handle.”
For the griller who loves steak

Sloan Personalized Miniature Steak Branding Iron
For Valentine’s Day, writer Leah Bhabha gifted her carnivorous boyfriend a personalized branding iron, purchased on Amazon, and it was an instant hit. “We’ve now emblazoned his initials on everything from ribs to rib eyes, and even busted out the brander for cast-iron cooked burgers (the patty’s initials were covered by the bun, but he liked it so much he branded them anyway).”
For the griller who prefers chicken

Two-in-One Vertical Chicken Roasting Pan
Nick Pihakis of Jim ’N Nicks Bar-B-Q in Birmingham, Alabama, calls this chicken-roasting contraption “one of the best ways to cook a chicken. Not only is upright roasting the optimal position to roast a chicken (fat drips away, heat surrounds the chicken 360 degrees, skin crisps up better), this cooking method allows the steam and vapors to flavor the chicken from the inside cavity out, helping it to stay moist.”
For the griller who’s also a hibachi enthusiast

Elite Platinum EMG-980B Large Indoor Electric Round Nonstick Grilling Surface
If dinner has become a bit of a slog recently, consider setting up a hibachi or Korean barbecue night and using this highly rated indoor grill to do it. Reviewers on Amazon say, true to advertising, it’s truly non-stick (so feel free to go all in on your marinades) and is just as effective at grilling vegetables as a grilling a sturdy ribeye.
For the griller who’s not sure what to do with vegetables

Sur La Table Stainless Steel Grill Basket
Steven John recommends a grill basket, “that can be placed atop any sort of grill (charcoal, gas, or even wood fire) and filled with loose veggies, shrimp, fries, and so on.” It keeps these more delicate ingredients from sticking to the grill’s grates, and, as John notes, “the grate’s cleaner, too.”
For the griller who over-checks their meat

Thermapen Mk4 Thermometer
A meat thermometer is a must-have accessory for a barbecue enthusiast to quickly and easily ensure that meat is fully cooked but not overdone. And for my money, there’s no meat thermometer better than the Thermapen. As I wrote in my review of this gadget, “What makes the Thermapen stand out from other digital kitchen thermometers is its speed and accuracy. According to the manufacturer’s website, this food thermometer can tell the real-time temperature of whatever you’re trying to measure within 0.7 degrees Fahrenheit in under three seconds. That speed makes a noticeable difference when you’re balancing a roasting pan on a hot oven door as you try to take the temperature of whatever’s inside without burning yourself or letting out too much heat,” or dealing with a hot barbecue grill. (And I’m in good company. The Thermapen also comes recommended by Amy and Mike Mills of 17th St. BBQ in Murphysboro, Illinois.)
For the griller who’s getting into marinades

Boiled Cider Syrup
In his roundup of the best condiments you can buy on Amazon, writer Hugh Merwin recommends this boiled cider, which is “kind of pure apple essence,” he explains. However, that sweetness makes it an excellent addition to a barbecue tool kit. “Grillmasters use it at the base of marinades, where it tenderizes meat and its mildly tart and subtle flavor blends in with wood smoke.”
For the griller with a small patio

Fire Sense Large Yakatori Charcoal Grill
Recommended by Leslie Roark Scott of Ubon’s Barbeque in Yazoo City, Mississippi, this large yakitori grill is ideal for those in a “tight space. It’s the perfect size for a couple of steaks, and holds heat like a champ.”
For the griller with no patio

Weber 10020 Smokey Joe
If you’re looking to gift a truly portable grill, for someone who dreams of grilling in Prospect Park, the Weber Smokey Joe is a classic choice. It’s a no-frills option, but it’s got the same durability as the larger kettle-style Weber grill.
For the indoor grill enthusiast who hates smoke

Philips Indoor Smokeless Grill
We discovered this indoor smokeless grill while watching Queer Eye on Netflix, and it’s a solid option for someone who wants to grill but is constrained by the realities of living in an apartment. It uses infrared light to heat the grill and help prevent smoking from dripping fat.
For the indoor grill enthusiast who doesn’t want another gadget

Lodge Pro-Grid Cast-Iron Grill and Griddle Combo. Reversible 20 x 10.44” Grill/Griddle Pan With Easy-Grip Handles
Though it’s more likely to smoke up your kitchen, this cast-iron grill plate from Lodge is “the indoor grill that’s closest in spirit to firing up the charcoal.” (Plus, because it’s essentially a flat piece of cast-iron, it’s much easier to store than a new appliance.)
For the griller who likes that smoky taste

Z Grills ZPG-7002E
As Steven John explains, “a pellet grill is a barbecue grill that uses an automatically fed supply of wood pellets to maintain a preestablished temperature and infuse the cooking foods with smoke aroma and flavor. Your fuel source is also your smoke source.” That means your meat takes longer to cook, but it’s also got more smoky flavor, and in his testing of pellet grills, John liked this one from Z Grills, in part because “you can load up enough wood pellets for hours of smoking with minimal refills required.”
For the griller who wants to go full pitmaster

Masterbuilt MES 130B Digital Electric Smoker
On a long hunt for the “best, not-too-massive city grill,” Lauren Levy discovered that the best barbecue grill is actually this digital smoker from Masterbuilt. That’s according to Myron Mixon, the winningest man in barbecue, who explains, “It’s a digital smoker, so you can actually punch in the temperature you want and it takes you right there from 100 degrees to 275 degrees in just a few minutes.” He continues, “The truth is, everything that someone would want to barbecue you can cook with the Masterbuilt smoker, and it’s much more delicious.”
For the griller who likes to cook low and slow

Akorn Jr. Kamado Kooker
The first rule of Grilling 101: Leave the meat be. But when you’re constantly worried about your provisions burning that can be difficult to do. That’s why the grilling enthusiasts of Amazon love the Akorn Jr., a ceramic, kamado-style grill that does an excellent job of maintaining low temperatures. Plus, it’s about a tenth of the price of the popular, kamado-style Big Green Egg grill.
For the griller who tries to keep their grill spotless

Drillbrush BBQ Accessories
I’ve written about the Drillbrush as the best tool to keep my shower clean, but the company makes different brush attachments with different stiffnesses for different purposes, like this barbecue accessories set, which can be used to detail-clean even the most grease-stained grill.
For the griller who likes to grill and chill

YETI Roadie 20 Cooler
“When you’re smoking whole hogs, you can’t go for a beer run, so you need a good cooler that’s going to keep your beer cold for the night,” wisely notes Patrick Martin of Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint. That’s why he recommends a Yeti cooler to keep by the grill. “I guarantee when you reach for a beer, it’s gonna be good and cold — just like it should be.”
For the griller who likes to carve meat

John Boos Block BBQBD Reversible Maple Wood Edge Grain BBQ Cutting Board With Juice Groove
This sturdy Boos block has a juice groove to catch any liquid that might come out when carving a big hunk of barbecue. (And this gift certainly doesn’t have to be retired once grilling season is over. It’ll also come in handy at Thanksgiving, when it’s time to carve the turkey.)
For the griller who likes eating barbecue more than cooking

Messermeister Avanta 4-Piece Fine Edge Steak Knife Set
Once they cook the meat, they’ll need something to help you eat it, and that’s where these Messermeister steak knives come in. “There’s a curious delight in using these very, very sharp steak knives to bisect a morsel of beef (or pork, or chicken, or whatever flesh you have lying around),” writes Katie Arnold-Ratliff in her ode to these. “The blade slices through the steak with tactile precision — a kind of buttery, slippery ease that makes me say every time my boyfriend and I use these knives, which is a lot, ‘Man I love these knives.’”

How was Steven made?
I know I keep talking about Pink Diamond, but in my process of trying to reconcile the fact that she’s truly gone I begin wondering exactly how it was that Steven was even made in the first place. We know that Rose became pregnant, but to doesn’t seem as simple as that.
In a typical pregnancy the sperm fertilizes an egg which turns into an embryo, then a fetus, then eventually the child is born. The child receives half it’s genetics from their mother, and half from their father.
In the past, Ian Jones had said that Rose Quartz shifted herself a womb and for the longest time I took that to mean that she shifted herself the whole kit and caboodle. Then theories came to light that Steven gained his human side from his dad, and his Gem side from his mom. Hell, it was even thought that Pink/Rose herself was merely trapped inside of her own Gem and upon Steven’s death would reappear.
Change Your Mind completely threw that out the window and then steam rolled over it.
But the interesting thing to consider is that CYM proved that Steven’s genetics weren’t just as simple as “human side from Greg, Gem side from Rose”.
When we see Pink Steven he is completely void of all emotion which is a far cry from Pink/Rose who were both very emotional. The only thing he cares about is reuniting with his human half. It is when he and human Steven embrace that he finally starts showing emotions.
Once more, Gem!Steven showed no emotions whatsoever. We also know that a Gem’s gem is their true selves and since all of the Gems have emotions, and since they themselves are 100% Gem, it would stand to reason that Gem!Steven should have also displayed emotions, but again he doesn’t.
It could be argued that in giving up her form, Pink/Rose also effectively deleted her personality from her own Gem, essentially how a computer is wiped clean and given a new OS, or even an updated version of the previous OS.
The problem with that however, is that we have seen that Steven not only shares certain personality traits with his mother, but also her memories of being Pink Diamond. This could only mean that Pink/Rose still exists within Steven but only as code, or genetics.
Think of it this way, we inherit half our DNA from our mom, and half from our dad, but it’s never a pure 50/50 split.
To sidetrack for a moment, a while back I watched one of those “These people take the Ancestry DNA test.” One of the subjects was an Indian woman whose results confirmed that she was 100% Indian. She questioned how this could be, because her family tree showed that at one point someone from her family went with someone that was Swedish, so therefore shouldn’t she have some Swedish blood in her as well? Apparently not exactly. While her father essentially passed off half his DNA down to her, so did her mother, but what the mother passed down was half her DNA that was 100% Indian.
Let’s go back on topic, what does this mean exactly for Steven? It means that his genetics aren’t as cut and dry and “human!Steven from dad, and Gem!Steven from mom.”
I truly believe that if this were the case, Gem!Steven would have shown shown actual emotions. After all, Pink/Rose herself displayed them, so why shouldn’t Gem!Steven?
This would mean that Steven’s human side inherited some of his mother’s personality traits and memories; that his personality is not just solely from his dad, plus his environment. With this being case, then whatever personality Pink/Rose had went to Steven’s human half when she gave herself up to let Steven be born.
So then, how exactly was Steven made? We know Rose/Pink created a womb for herself, but did she form everything else essential for the process? Or do we have a strange case of Steven being on par with a homonuculus, specifically one of the Preformation variation? (This was a once commonly held theory that the sperm contained a little person and that the woman merely incubated this tiny person until it was big enough to be born. Naturally this has been debunked.)
The show has proven that both Pink/Rose and Steven can bring seeds to life via their tears and or spit. Familiar showed us that Pink, and Steven could bring pebbles to life with their sweat.
So, gross as this may sound here’s what I think happened. Greg and Rose had sex, but instead of Greg’s sperm entering into one of Rose’s eggs (because let’s face it, Rose probably didn’t shift those) her -ahem- some of her other fluids did something to one of Greg’s sperm to literally create a “little person”, to which Rose then kept in her womb until it was time for Steven to be born.
Finally, while it may have been possible for Steven to have been born as a “full” human and would have allowed Rose Quartz to keep her form, something tells me that he would have been considerably weak and always at death’s door. In order to make him complete, Rose had to give up her form so that Steven could be whole.

Pure Steam Testing Service - Qualification of Pure Steam | Validair Engineers

Manufacturing, cleanroom environments, and pharmaceutical-grade production, pure steam is more than just high-temperature vapor—it's a critical utility. Its purity, dryness, and overall performance directly impact the integrity of products and equipment sterilization processes. That’s why Pure Steam Testing Services and validation protocols are crucial for facilities striving to meet regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
At Validair Engineers, we specialize in comprehensive Pure Steam Testing Services, offering unmatched expertise in Pure Steam Validation, Non-Condensable Gases (NCG) Testing, Dryness Value Test, and Superheat Test. We also supply advanced Pure Steam Quality Test Kits to ensure in-house quality checks can be conducted with precision.
Whether you're qualifying a new pure steam generator or revalidating an existing distribution line, our services are designed to support pharmaceutical manufacturers, cleanroom operators, biotechnology units, and healthcare institutions across India.
Understanding Pure Steam in Sterile Environments
Pure steam is used extensively for sterilization of equipment, pipelines, vessels, filters, and filling machines. It's especially vital in pharmaceutical and biotechnology applications where contamination must be reduced to zero. Unlike plant steam, pure steam is free from contaminants, pyrogens, particulates, and chemicals—making it suitable for direct contact with product contact surfaces.
However, not all steam is “pure” just because it looks clean. That’s where our Pure Steam Testing Service comes in—offering quantifiable, scientific assessment of steam parameters to qualify its usability for sterile environments.
What is Pure Steam Validation?
Pure Steam Validation is a documented process used to verify that the steam used for sterilization meets regulatory standards and internal quality benchmarks. It evaluates steam’s physical and chemical properties to confirm it’s fit for its intended purpose.
This process is not optional—it's a GMP requirement as outlined by the USP, EP, and ISPE guidelines. Regular validation ensures that steam:
Is free of non-condensable gases (NCG)
Has the correct dryness fraction
Exhibits no superheat (or within permissible levels)
Maintains the right pressure and temperature consistency
Is not chemically reactive or impure
Validair Engineers uses a structured validation methodology, including onsite assessments, documentation, and periodic checks to maintain consistent steam quality.
Components of Pure Steam Testing Service
Our Pure Steam Testing Service is comprehensive and includes multiple parameters essential for a complete evaluation. Here's an in-depth look:
Non-Condensable Gas (NCG) Testing
NCGs, such as oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide, do not condense like steam and can form insulating pockets on sterilization surfaces. This prevents effective heat transfer, leading to incomplete sterilization.
At Validair, we conduct NCG Testing in accordance with international guidelines. Using a calibrated test rig, we collect condensate and measure the gas volume. If the NCG content exceeds acceptable limits (typically 3% by volume), it may indicate a problem with steam traps, water quality, or the steam generator itself.
Dryness Value Test
The dryness fraction of steam defines the proportion of steam that is actually in vapor form versus liquid droplets. A low dryness value means wetter steam, which can compromise sterilization efficiency and lead to condensate pooling.
Our Dryness Value Test assesses this parameter using steam calorimeters and test kits to ensure the dryness fraction is typically above 0.95 (as per guidelines). Achieving high dryness means optimal heat transfer and effective sterilization.
Superheat Test
While dry steam is essential, superheated steam—which occurs when steam is heated above its saturation temperature—can also be problematic. It lacks latent heat and may not condense on surfaces, thus failing to deliver sterilization action.
We perform Superheat Tests to determine if the steam has been excessively heated and adjust generation or distribution parameters accordingly. Superheat is typically undesirable in SIP (Steam in Place) systems.
Pure Steam Quality Test Kit
We also offer state-of-the-art Pure Steam Quality Test Kits, enabling your quality control or maintenance teams to perform in-house testing for key steam parameters. These kits include tools for dryness testing, NCG measurement, and temperature/pressure monitoring.
Our kits are:
Portable
User-friendly
Compliant with USP and ISPE guidelines
Supplied with calibration certificates
By combining on-site testing services with these kits, your team can maintain constant vigilance over steam quality.
Importance of Pure Steam Testing in Pharma & Biotech
In pharmaceutical manufacturing, especially in aseptic environments, any compromise in sterilization could lead to product recalls, regulatory penalties, or worse—risk to patient safety. That’s why Pure Steam Testing India is no longer a luxury; it’s a necessity.
Industries relying on pure steam include:
Injectable drug manufacturers
Sterile ophthalmic solution plants
API manufacturing units
Cleanroom facilities
Medical device sterilization units
Biotech R&D centers
In each of these sectors, Pure Steam Validation is a key compliance parameter checked during audits by regulatory authorities such as USFDA, MHRA, WHO-GMP, and TGA.
Our Process at Validair Engineers
As one of India’s premier steam qualification specialists, Validair Engineers follows a strict methodology:
Site Audit and Assessment: Our team assesses your steam generation and distribution infrastructure to map out testing points.
Test Setup Using Calibrated Instruments: We install test kits and calibrated tools at sampling points to begin NCG, dryness, and superheat testing.
Data Logging and Analysis: All parameters are logged in real time and compared against industry benchmarks.
Comprehensive Validation Report: After testing, we provide a detailed report including test methods, raw data, deviation logs, and suggestions for corrective actions (if needed).
Guidance on Compliance Improvements: If your system fails a parameter, we help troubleshoot causes and propose corrective measures to bring the system into compliance.

Oh I have more water facts if you want
Water in New York City isn't vegan or kosher because of the tiny microscopic crustaceans in the reservoirs that help keep the mosquito populations down (they eat the eggs and larvae i think) (a filter will take them out)
Pure water has a Ph of 7, some cities in America have water with a Ph below this, which is why they treat the water so heavily before giving it to consumers (most of the time) (acid rain has a Ph of 5 to 5.5 btw) (most tap is between 6 and 8.5)
Alkaline bottled water probably isn't going to do much more for you than regular water. Except maybe taste different and make you drink more (if you prefer that taste) (theres not enough research to prove the claims, but your stomach does a pretty good job of neutralizing whatever it takes, so)
don't leave your plastic water bottle in the sun or a hot car, it will cause a reaction with the plastic and leach chemicals into the water. (The international bottled water association will tell you everything's fine, but plastic companies also told us plastic was sustainably recyclable and look at us now)
The reason why low Ph water is bad is because it corrodes the pipes and can carry with it harmful metals and other chemicals
Spring water from different wells will also all taste different based on the minerals and Ph levels. High Ph water is said to be more sweet and low Ph water is said to be bitter.
You can tell if your tap water is high or low Ph based on the color it turns your faucet and drains. Low Ph water tends to leave a blue or green stain, and high Ph water tends to leave a white residue. (Of course this isn't like a sure fire way to tell, always use a test kit if you really want to know)
There are lots of kinds of bottled water: spring water (from ground water), mineral water (water with extra favor from minerals), distilled water (water condensed from steam, this water is basically as pure as you can probably get on the consumer level), purified water (water thats undergone some sort of purification process like reverse osmosis), Alkaline water (water with a higher Ph), sparkling water (water with added minerals and carbonation), etc
There are restrictions on how much rain water you can store and use in many states (the restrictions are put in place because rain is not always safe to drink because as it falls it traps particles in the droplets that may be harmful when consumed) (and also because acid rain is a thing)

Water is a human right
#my2cents#i know this was about bottled water originally but i have a lot of useless info about water

bathwater - self para.
i watch the bathwater drain, it’s never looked quite the same the weight comes back to my body, and i’m hopeless again.
Pepper stares at the wall of the shower, sunk into the water of the tub. She’s in Jordan’s bathroom, not sure if she can get away with opening up a razor and taking a blade. She settled for two minutes of shocking heat, scalding water and heavy steam, ripping the air out of her lungs. Now, it’s cool, soothing the skin on her back as she leans her head against the tile. She looks around the bathroom as she soaks in the water, contaminated by leftover sex and sweat and guilt and shame and self-loathing. The mirror features a few Victoria’s Secret underwear stickers. They haven’t been there long. Probably purchased since they started fucking. Her retainer case is hot pink with holographic Hello Kitty stickers, much more worn than the hearts on the mirror. There’s a bottle of Summer’s Eve on the counter. Pepper knows that Jordan knows it’s not good for her vaginal health, but even beautiful, shiny people like Jordan worry sometimes, look in the mirror and see a problem or think does my vagina smell good enough for someone to like me? To love me? The toilet is not much different from Pepper’s on the outside. Porcelain, white. But no one kneels in front of it to seek answers, help, perfection, acceptance. No one uses the pink toothbrush in the cup on the counter for anything other than brushing their teeth. And the razor is still a normal razor, used religiously for armpits and legs and a somewhat razor-burned mons pubis, never deconstructed for pain. Pepper wriggles down into the water, submerging her face, and listens to the heaviness of the water, her sins mingled with shampoo and Jordan’s Lush shower gel. She tries to let it strip away the memory of Jordan’s fucks and pleases and the drawn out yeee-eeeee-eee-ssss, the feeling of her heart fluttering, just barely, while Jordan kissed the back of her neck, fingers gently brushing her side, the adoration that constantly radiates from her stupid unconditionally-loving face. She tries to forget all of that, make it not real. Because she has to be loyal to Hanna or because she has to punish herself? She opens the drain and turns the shower back on, rinses the remaining soap and that question. She puts her hair in a wet ponytail, uses the toothbrush as it was intended,-- she can’t bring herself to defile what seems so pure-- puts on a pair of Jordan’s sleep shorts and a sweatshirt, and crawls back into her bed.
i watch the twists and the turns, distract me from where it hurts it’s like i’m watching my life go past the point of return.
She wonders if her defibrillator has gone off in the past few minutes, sitting in a different tub, pink water and fragrant fizz and glitter surrounding the loosely-bound collection of bones and organs and newly bleached hair. She can’t get comfortable. If she moves to where her scapulae don’t dig into the porcelain, she’s too deep in the water and when things go south, she could slip and start drowning and add a whole new element to something that needs to be quick and nearly painless. She picks the knife up and puts it down about twenty times in the span of just one song. Every time I close my eyes, it’s like a dark paradise. Her phone speakers are maxed out, turned to the wall in an attempt for amplification. She doesn’t know if she’s going to cry or start freaking out or what, but if there’s any noise other than her femoral artery emptying, she doesn’t want anyone but her and God and maybe Hanna to hear it. She’s done this hundreds of times, just less severe. Shallow, quickly scabbed over, or slightly deeper, tiny white scars to remind her. Why is it so hard to 1) pick up knife 2) find the spot under her hipbone where this stupid thing should be 3) stab hard and deep, fast, get it over with 4) lean back, close eyes 5) die? The plan seemed perfect. She’s come this far. Stole the key card from Jordan, walked right out the back door to the garage, hailed a cab. Bought a bleaching kit, a new nose ring, and a Lush Pink bomb and Creamy Candy bubble bar, a ride to Montauk and a hotel room electronically. Thanks, Apple Pay. She went down to the beach, shivered the whole time, sweater pulled tight around her shoulders, wind breaking off the waves and pushing against her. ( Get out of here. Turn back. ) She went in the old ice cream store, just reopened a month ago during spring break, ordered a scoop of cinnamon toast and a scoop of blueberry muffin in a waffle cone, but it didn’t taste the same as it did when Hanna sat across from her and made fun of the inevitable smear of ice cream on her nose. She went back to the hotel, re-bleached her hair, opened the doors to the balcony and took a nap with the sea breeze blowing in on her. Ordered room service, three Belgian waffles with cream, blueberries, bananas, bacon. Tried to eat it. Enjoy it. The calories won’t matter when you’re dead. Her stomach twisted up. She got through one waffle and the blueberries before screaming curses at the entire fucking plate and her stupid digestive system and her stupid brain and God and whoever else was to blame for everything. Took a deep breath. Started the water, lowered herself in gently, placing the large knife from the room service tray on the side of the tub. Put in the bath bomb, listened to the playlist she’d made in the cab. ( Eyelids. Ride. Young and Beautiful. Together. The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. Dark Paradise. Teen Idle. Medicine. Lonely Hearts Club. Control. Chandelier. Heavy In Your Arms. A Little Fall of Rain. Over the Love. Twinkle Song. Demon Limbs. I Will Follow You Into the Dark. ) When it repeated, she added more hot water, crumbled the bubble bar. Tried to be ready. She stares at the knife now, still concentrating. Do it. Do it. Fucking do it. What about HeatherAliceGinaJordan what about KarlBrett what about TinkaHeatherGreene what about Tess what about you what about you what about NO. She digs the heels of her hands into her eyes. The soap stings. That’s why her eyes water. That’s why tears start rolling. That must be why. “They’ll be better off without me,” Her voice is weak, barely audible even to her. “They deserve better than me.” whataboutyou “I deserve nothing.” No food, no kindness, no love. She looks up at the ceiling. “Help me!” She’s glad the music is loud. “I know you probably hate me but that should make you want to get rid of me! Help!” She grips the knife handle so hard it hurts her hand. “I want it!” Want what? To die or to live? “I want-- I want--” It won’t come out. “I WANT--!” Silence. “FUCK--!” She lets out a sob, leans over, tips of her hair dipping into the pink. “I have to do it-- I have to.” She repeats the mantra, tries to compose herself as she does ( ihavetoihaveto. ihavetoihaveto. ) She sees two futures in the water. One, stained with blood. Heather splitting open the skin on her knuckles, unable to cry anymore. Alice in the basement with stockpiled alcohol. Gina putting those old walls back up. ( ithinkmymom-- ) Jordan crying for weeks, months, that same horrible noise that came out in her bedroom. The other future is more distant. Heather having lunch with her somewhere, ordering bacon cheese fries even though she knows she’ll stare at them for ten minutes before allowing herself to eat one. Alice smiling, offering hugs and Oreos and cigarettes. She tries not to see the contrast in that and the next scene. Gina is waking up next to her, not in a twin bed. A big one, built for two. Jordan delivers a blueberry muffin to her somewhere, then says she has to go to work, runs off in scrubs and Vans Sk8-His. She blinks herself out of the alternate realities. One is what she could do. The other is what she could have. What she could be. She turns the knife over. Nearly drops it. FOCUS. ( ihavetoihaveto. ) She lifts herself up slightly tries to find the place. Femur to hip. The bones are easy to find-- the 100 on the anatomy test flashes back-- nothing but greatness is expected of you from now on! The blood vessel must be close. DO IT. She tries to aim. ( ithinkmymomkilledherself ) She slips back down, water hitting her in the face. The knife splashes into the pink, right between her legs. Stop--! ...You have to stay. She carefully finds the knife handle, tears blinking out fast, and slams it down on the edge of the tub. Hanna, somewhere above, breathes a sigh of relief. Pepper answers the question. “I-- want to live.” The words are so soft she’s not sure she said them, not sure she thought them. But she’s still sitting there when Jordan busts through the door, looks in and sees her, flings the knife across the room, nearly dives in the bathtub to hold her. She’s still there.
Pepper drops a Cheer Up Buttercup bomb in the tub after yoga. She carefully covers the new tattoos, a band-aid on her stomach underscored by the words i forgive you, and a slice of pizza on her ankle, then stands on the scale. She writes 106 on the mirror with a dry erase marker, adds a smiley face and hearts. She slips into the yellow foam carefully, exhaling. The words from the meditative instructor linger, always in the back of her head, mixing with those of her therapist. Release anything that is no longer serving you. -- Let yourself enjoy things. Give your body whatever it tells you it needs. -- Love yourself enough to decide you deserve more. She runs her hands along her body under the water. Feels a small roundness under her ribs. A tummy, she calls it, not gross, not ugly. Enough flesh to say I’m healthy. There are abs building above it and underneath it. It’s just a slight slope from her ribs to the top of her pants when she’s dressed, looking at it through a mesh top in the mirror. She keeps feeling. Two thighs, muscular now, toned, but they set off an alarm in the back of her mind when she sits down in shorts or leggings. She has to override, shut it off. They are fine. They’re strong, and there’s more than enough room for Gina to get between them when she wants to. You. Are. Doing. Great. You. Are. Good. She finds her breasts, no longer a pair of nipples on a ribcage. Real ones. 36A, but real. Hers. She finds her thighs again, moves up, closes her eyes. A gentle touch from her hand. She doesn’t imagine Hanna now. Doesn’t hate herself after. Acts of kindness for Pepper by Pepper don’t have to be apologies for the past or encouraging thoughts. Sometimes she just sits in the bathtub and her fingers travel along her body and she takes the time to feel it. She stands up after the water is cold and rinses her hair, her body, dries off, flops down in front of the couch. She waits for Gina. Rests her hands on the small sloping tummy. What she has. What she is.
