My dear Tumblr people I need guidance.

I recently watched conclave and now I'm kinda having religious guilt over the fact that I don't believe in God and i probably cant bring myself to do so but I still love Jesus and Mary and studying the Bible. I'm also a helenic polytheist/helenist and i feel comfortable because it feels very close to nature and spirit but the religious gulit is making my faith to the deities I worship tread on a very thin line. It feels like I'm doing it just for a trend and i might quit everything entirely to stop the worry. what do I do. I can't do both at the same time.

If I do go fully into helenism I'm scared I'll somehow not be redeemed or something I don't know.

I'm also probably neurodivergent and I have many phases when I find something interesting but after a while later I like something else and I completely drop the previous interest.

i know we always joke about how ace shares one brain cell with deuce or how dumb he is but just how smart is ace canonically? cuz theres like many moments in the story of him proving to us that hes quick thinking and people praising him for it too

Well… “Smartness” of a fictional character is pretty hard to quantify 😅 It’s not like they’ve got IQ test scores we can use. Even if we did, the IQ tests most people think of do not account for those who have different strengths or learning preferences, such as Kalim, who is not book-smart but is emotionally intelligent and studies better in one-on-one settings as opposed to traditional classrooms).

That aside. Ace is definitely the smartest one of Yuu’s immediate friend group (comparing them to Deuce and Grim, I mean). I think the “single brain cell” duo/trio joke is based on moreso how this group tends to get into trouble together OR a misunderstanding of Ace’s skills. Unlike Deuce, who genuinely does not understand the content (even having to take remedial lessons) and has a hard time focusing + memorizing, Ace is a natural at it. He has a good memory and can imitate a lot of things (dancing, a runway walk, other languages, etc.) after observing it just once, as we see in book 5, Fairy Gala If, his Dorm Uniform vignettes, etc. Ace is also quick on his feet and able to come up with plans and lies on the fly (Riddle’s dream in book 7, book 3 at the museum, Endless Halloween Night, etc.). Adeuce are intentionally opposites of each other.

He is considered decent in the classroom too! Ace doesn’t need to take remedial lessons (again, unlike Deuce) and is often teasing Deuce about how long he takes to do homework and other assignments (while Ace wraps his up quickly). However, the thing with Ace is that he often seeks shortcuts in school, which might be why people assume he is “dumb”. Him seeking shortcuts actually isn’t because he struggles with the material, but because he has limited interest in learning. (Ace cuts class, ducks chores/responsibility, and still makes a deal with Azul to assure he passes his final exam with little effort on his end.) This is a pretty direct contrast to Deuce, who sucks at schoolwork but actively tries at it anyway. It’s even reflected in Ace’s favorite subject, Magic Analysis/Enigmics, which he states he enjoys because you just plug numbers into a formula. Again, it’s easy and minimal effort.

Personally, I don’t enjoy playing into the “single brain cell duo/trio” joke for the reason that I don’t find it super fitting for Ace. No shade to the fans who do use this term, it’s just not my own preference. I prefer to just say “Adeuce” or “Adeuce and Grim” when possible.

So.... I'm from Hub City, right? And everyone knows our Question, but I've seen on the news lately that the Question's either... passed on the mask or discovered some things about themselves. Do you know anything that could help clear that up? Thanks!

My word if someone wanted to quiz me and asked me to name a more opaque possible subject I'd have a hard time thinking it up.

In a world of heroes who keep their identities close to their chest I would say one of the ones who played that the hardest are the duo who call themselves The Question.

We know almost nothing about either the man or woman who go by that name. Originally appearing as a vigilante on the smoky streets of crime ridden Hub City the Question became known as mysterious, paranoid, conspiratorial. Always tugging at endless threads that most often lead nowhere, until he stumbled upon the ones that lead everywhere. His pedigree among the other heroes of the community means he was never held in open suspicion but the more anyone tried to learn about him the more blanks end up drawn.

And that was just until it all got even MORE complicated.

To put to rest part of your question. We are 99% sure that the man and woman both calling themselves The Question are DIFFERENT PEOPLE. While estrogen can work wonders the male Question stand nearly 6 inches taller and has 40 pounds on his female compatriot, and their hair is different colors and consistencies. Not IMPOSSIBLE to fake with enough dedication but enough to make even more certain of the clarity when they both began to appear at once.

There was a "revelation" that the female Question was well regarded Gotham Police Detective Renee Montoya but that evidence was very thoroughly quashed by Hub City newsman Vic Sage and the evidence holds water so that one's a wash. Beyond that we really don't know. Both heroes seem to work well together, the obvious implication is that the newer female Question is a partner or protege of the older male Question.

Most recently the pair of them took what it almost certainly their most public posting ever when both were offered the position of security head for the rebuilt Watchtower that serves as the headquarters of the League's new Justice League Unlimited initiative which at very least speaks to the esteem that their fellow heroes hold their investigative skills in.

Also the female Question is listen on the roll calls for the Justice League Queer support group but in one respect and under what label I TRULY could not say.

How often are you supposed to shower when on your period? My mother is kinda a "clean freak" of sorts (cleans the whole house every day for example) and when on her period she showers every few hours and that's how she taught me too but I'm starting to realise (and hope) that it's not actually necessary. But what is the absolute minimum?

Aro culture is coming here and asking if calling myself caedromantic is right if I was aro before. Like I know I was aro, but then The Big Bad Very Awful Romantic Experience™ happened. Like I struggle saying no to friends even if they know I'm aro, so that happened.

another question is that I once heard people say caed-spec people aren't valid because trauma shouldn't decide your identity? The tumblr user arguing said something like "you can't traumatize someone into turning gay so you can't be traumatized into becoming aspec" and I'm really just a bystander in that comment section but back then that sort of made me doubt my identity too, even if I do think that I'm caedromantic.

I don't know. I think looking at disk horse doesn't help with figuring things about my aroness actually but now I am constantly hmmm-ing at this new label that I want to use.

listen. you can do whatever you want forever. if caedromantic is a term that helps you connect to yourself, your experiences, a community... go for it. be free.

the trauma thing is... very classic therapy speak used to harm others tbh. trauma shouldn't decide your identity, because you are the person deciding what labels describe your experience; not the trauma, and not other fucking people. that doesn't mean that trauma can't be part of your experience, or that people can't be part of helping you decide. just that you are the only person who knows what it is like to be you, and if you later decide you were wrong or things changed or whatever, that's just life.

i'm also gonna be totally real: this may or may not be the case, but I wonder if you might be one of the MANY people who have moral OCD and are not aware. you sound like you care a great deal about the "correctness", morally speaking, of labeling yourself. I don't find this to be common beyond "But what if I'm wrong and spoke like I was [a socially defined identity whose definition is decided by the people who identify that way, not some moral arbiter or coining post]". Your Nakshatra Notes and Basic Stories of the 27 Nakshatras are incredible, I really like how in the Nakshatra Notes you denote positive and negative aspects of each Nakshatra it's very extensive and well-written. For the Basic Stories I think you did an amazing job at capturing the essence of each Nakshatra and what makes them unique through what they represent. Thanks for making the time to show appreciation. Not many people say much about the work i do (which trust me, is more then I ever imagine sometimes...) The reality is no one pays me to do it, and I receive no donations, so often times it's rather hard to fully engage without much external rewards (Outside the belief and internal belief that the work has value.)

I don’t normally say this about Idia (I don’t care for his base design) but WOW he looks cool here 🤩

I really like the details on the hand + arm in the foreground; I never noticed how complex the design of the gauntlets were until now… You can see the individual finger bones modeled on the gauntlets! His expression is also really fun. It’s like a classic supervillain in the middle of maniacal laughter. You can see how the blot pools from his eyes (like tears) and around his grinning mask. Cerberus’s TEETH in the background??? So many small but good details here.

I saw the card stats too!! Idia’s so powerful for a nerd/j 😭 His attack power is higher than Dorm Uniform Riddle (but lower than Rich Fur Coat Crewel).

I can see many Idia fans being excited about this card (one of my friends, an Idia liker, definitely is www). I personally find it slightly too camp for my tastes so I’ll be skipping his banner. Best of luck to anyone who’s throwing their gems and keys into OB!Idia though!! 💎 🔑
