People who refer to themselves as 💫 so quirky 💫 are never charmingly quirky, they really are always just ☠ so obnoxious ☠
#this post brought to you by: cooking competitions#stg EVERY TIME a contestant describes themselves#as being so quirky/weird/random#they really just use that as an excuse#to be the most obnoxious motherfucker of the season#like calling themselves quirky absolves them from#considering other people in their social interactions#genuinely quirly ppl are fun or adorable. They also don't need to preface it.......

thats what you said by equating trans men to pussies.
lesbian: “i don’t think lesbians can be attracted to men, cis or trans”
some chronically online 14 year old self diagnosed transmasc lesboy: “YOURE LITERALLY HITLER YOU EXCLUS DYKE WHORE TRANSPHOBIC BITCH YOU DESERVE TO DIE YOU BIGOTED SLUT, LESBIANS CAN LIKE TRANS MEN BECAUSE THEY STILL HAVE PUSSIES”
#vi-repost#trans men are men stop trying to sound cool and quirly by malgendering trans men . watch out guys#next op is going to say some shit like “trans men are really the men of the trans community”#actually please do say that so i have a better excuse to block you and end this stupid conversation

I think I’m gonna make a tiktok on it since that’s where a majority of the problem is but the whole thing with @quirly and her boyfriend and Jake is actually ridiculous. I’m gonna rant about it because it’s genuinely so upsetting to see.
I personally wouldn’t call myself a fan but I do watch their videos from time to time and so watch the streams whenever I feel like it.
I was ranting to my boyfriend about it because I just couldn’t fathom how, what, and why people are acting so immature. I understand Jake and Johnnie are comforts and a lot of people (admittedly minors) look up the two of them, but, they are also grown men. Like grown adult men. Who have a life outside of posting silly videos on YouTube for entertainment.
I think it just irks me as an adult to see and watch people not be understanding about that people grow and expand and move on, even more so when you’re an adult. Nothing stays the same! It’s a good thing to be expanding and doing new things and trying a new approach to things and that’s exactly what it looks like is happening.
I think people are forgetting that Johnnie does music and is focusing on music from what I’ve seen, and him wanting older videos taken from his account (which I’ve seen way too many people talking about) that make him uncomfortable is perfectly okay and understandable. If I had old videos from years ago on the internet, I would want to take them down at some point too. I’m happy to see him growing and branching out into the things he wants to do.
What do people expect? For Jake and Johnnie to making only videos together till they’re in nursing homes? 😭 At some point whether it was now or a different time, this was going to be said and they were going to do new things. The world did not stop turning because Jake and Johnnie won’t be making as many videos together, they aren’t each others only friend either lol.
Like I understand the disappointment and sadness but, going after Grace so ruthlessly who’s name shouldn’t even be in anybody’s mouth which is my next irritation is stupid and sad and shows just how chronically online people are.
I think people forget that Johnnie is a grown man who makes his own choices and has free will, he doesn’t need thousands of people policing him and the people he’s with. From the moment the announcement came out, people have had a problem with Grace and it’s always confused me because she’s literally been doing nothing but being a supportive and good girlfriend to Johnnie. And seeing people baby Johnnie and infantilize him over having a girlfriend and trying to act like you know what’s best for him is disturbing to say the least. I don’t know how Grace just existing is the fault of Johnnie and Jake doing their own things, how them moving in together is ruining things. If you truly supported Johnnie, you’d be happy to see him expanding and growing!
Anyway it’s ridiculous, Grace getting death threats and being slandered on the internet for just existing and being herself. People are ridiculous and have parasocial relationships that need to be severed and I hope everything crashing out and blaming Grace get help. Let this woman BREATHE LMFAO
ANYWAY sorry for the long rant this situation just irked me sooo bad ever since the first wave of hate came for Grace and if this sounds rude or bitchy then I’m sorry
#Jake Webber#jake and johnnie#Johnnie Guilbert#grace van dien#this is so stupid#the internet gives me brain rot#i need to sleep for 1000 years after writing this

a QUICK disclaimer:
this is for constructive criticism and feedback purposes with no harmful or ill intent. i may not be great at conveying tones, however, this needs to be spoken about. i’ve tried to be as passive and civil as possible while also getting my frustrations out.
this is part of the many reasons why i stopped watching and supporting @quirly. supporting small artists to create merch designs is obviously great for boosting their work and popularity, but using them to sell products like these is hurtful. you can’t use the arguments that it’s “cute merch for friend duos” or that it’s “raising awareness and fighting the stigma” when it’s blatantly insensitive and offensive, romanticising mental illness like it’s some 2014 tumblr aesthetic. you can’t support mental health and talk about it continuously, wear merch from support organisations and have helplines in your twitter bio just to suddenly drop it when you start seeing a new guy and then pull this type of move. it’s just not right. it very much comes off as performative, fake activism solely for capitalisation. you can’t tell someone to “get the medicated hoodie” when they try to explain how glamorising these sorts of things is unhealthy and tone deaf.

i used to spend my WHOLE childhood (and even now) struggling with mental health, feeling like a monster, having been guilt tripped by people who were supposed to get me through my struggles. i begged for meds and experimented with countless stimulants and antidepressants, some of which only made me worse and physically sick. i’ve dealt with people loosely throwing around terms without knowing what they mean and i’ve seen people using mental health and disabilities as internet trends for attention. promoting this while actively displaying harmful behaviour publicly, refusing to help yourself, avoiding professional help and having the privilege of receiving it is not ok, and i speak for and stand for everyone who has dealt with similar experiences.
this isn’t me hating, it’s me (and plenty others) asking you to please make better decisions and to PLEASE, in the nicest way i can, help yourself, because you concerningly keep promoting toxic ideologies to your fanbase and johnnie’s which contains a vast majority of young and naive people, with mostly impressionable teens making up johnnie’s community. please take accountability and do better. please try to receive criticisms and advice like an adult rather than repeating the cycle of hiding behind the blame, completely deflecting it arguing like you always do, grace. i know there’s plenty of hate out there, i’ve seen it all, but you have to ignore those types of engagement, learn from criticism and advice and move on. i can’t support someone who refuses to help themselves or acknowledge the damage they’re creating towards their own reputation and careers.

Third Girl - A Hercule Poirot Mystery by Agatha Christie
Finished: 1st April, 2025
Genre: Murder Mystery, Whodunnit
May be for you if you like: Detective stories, intrigue, complex characters, multiple POV, social commentary
Synopsis
A perplexed girl interrupts Poirot's breakfast because she thinks she might have killed someone…
Three single girls shared the same London flat. The first worked as a secretary; the second was an artist; the third who came to Poirot for help, disappeared - convinced she was a murderer.
Now there were rumours of revolvers, flick-knives and blood stains. But, without hard evidence, it would take all Poirot’s tenacity to establish whether the third girl was guilty, innocent, or insane…
Review
I have no words other than "I loved it" - but why? Let's just dive into it, shall we?
The Story
feels somewhat different from other Poirot mysteries - I love how Poirot is not the only one who does actual detective work this time, and how the case ties in much more into modern social issues than usual. The whole premise of the "prime suspect" actually suspecting herself and not trusting her own actions is so brilliant, especially in relation to how the other actors view her.
The reader is much more involved in this case as well, as the multiple POV offer us more context (which is also subtle enough for some readers to not catch on so the resolution is an extremely smooth twist!) than our titular detective, which feels incredibly satisfying. I was so proud of myself for solving the case before Poirot lol.
The Characters
were SO complex and fun!
Poirot himself is beginning to show his advancing age as he starts to lose his grip on modern fashions and trends, which is both fascinating and fun to watch. His personality absolutely shines in this novel - he's eccentric and intelligent, he is lovably arrogant (deservedly so!) - and surprisingly cooperative and social this time! He isn't too proud to work with others and actually does work with them. He's just great!
Equally great is Ariadne Oliver in this one! She's my all-time favorite character in the whole series, so I was absolutely delighted to see her completely in action! I think her perspective as a mystery writer really brings something special to the case, and her quirly personality and wit matches and complements Poirot perfectly! They are such a good duo!
The cast of suspects and conspirators really shines as well - especially our prime suspects Norma and David. They are equal parts shady and likeable, and none of them were easy to read. The entire Restarick family felt alive and believable and I was so invested in all their lives! Easily one of the best cast of characters in the series for me!
The Worldbuilding
is absolutely stellar in this novel! We're in contemporary London, and the bustling city has so much to offer - from working women to chatty, flamboyant men and old people who can't quite keep up. We have commentary on city VS suburb life, immigration issues, class issues, gender issues... Christie truly left no stone unturned. It felt bustling and believable and just alive.
Final Thoughts
I really have nothing to say; this book left me speechless and in awe lol. If you haven't read any Hercule Poirot mysteries and want to start, and you want to get the best version of him right off the bat, I really recommend Third Girl! If you have read some Hercule Poirot but haven't read this one yet, this is an absolute MUST read!!!
Christie's narrative voice also really shines here - from her dialogues to her descriptions, it's all so tight, neat, witty and just amazing. I truly loved every second of this book.
