- Here is a poem for anyone going through illness, hardship, or silent pain.
Whispers of the Angel
I have heard death's whispers many times. It calls me like an old friend— a friend I’d rather stay away from, but a friend nonetheless.
He does not knock, nor does he wait for permission. He walks like shadow beside me, scary—but dutiful. An angel, bound not by malice, but by obedience to my Lord.
He does not speak. He simply stands when my soul trembles in sujood, when the wind stills at night, when my heart aches for things it cannot name.
He has seen the faces of kings and children, the lovers of dunya, and the lovers of Allah.
To the heedless, he comes like lightning— To the prepared, like a quiet pull toward home.
Sometimes I wonder if he’s near, when I can’t sleep. When my mother’s voice trembles in du’aa. When I feel too heavy for this earth, and too sinful for the sky.
But I know… He only moves when my Lord commands. He has no power of his own. He is not cruel. Just certain.
So I wait, not with eagerness, but with submission. Not with longing, but with hope.
That when he comes, he will not find me empty. He will not find me far.
Let him find me with Qur’an on my lips, and Allah in my heart. Let him take me, if I am ready.
And if I am not… then let me live only to become so.
-Ruhaya 🤍

The Life of Prophet Muhammad, Peace and Blessings upon him and his Purified Household, Through the Eyes of the 12 Imams, Peace be upon them
Tumblr media
“We are the gates to the city of his knowledge, the keepers of his covenant, and the protectors of his light.” — Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq, Peace be upon him (Bihar al-Anwar, Vol. 26, p. 117)
Introduction: A Story Guarded in Divine Custody
Tumblr media
The life of Prophet Muhammad, Peace and Blessings upon him and his Purified Household, is not simply history. It is the divine epic of existence — an unfolding testament of divine love, mercy, and justice. Every soul may glimpse at it, but only the chosen inheritors — the 12 Imams, Peace be upon them — have walked entirely within its light.
For the followers of the Purified Household, the biography (Seerah) of the Prophet, Peace and Blessings upon him and his Purified Household, is inseparable from the legacy of the Imams, Peace be upon them. They were his flesh and blood, his spiritual heirs, and his divine mirrors. To know him fully is to see him through their eyes.
1: The Birth — A Covenant Fulfilled
Tumblr media
The night the Final Messenger, Peace and Blessings upon him and his Purified Household, entered this world, Imam Ali, Peace be upon him, described it as:
“When Muhammad was born, the entire world trembled with the weight of its destiny. Light pierced the darkness, and the idols that once stood arrogant in the Kaaba fell upon their faces.” (Nahj al-Balagha, Sermon 192)
The 12 Imams, Peace be upon them, consistently framed his birth not merely as the arrival of a human, but as the manifestation of the First Light, the same light Allah created before time itself — the Noor Muhammadi.
Imam Muhammad al-Baqir, Peace be upon him, explained:
“The first creation of Allah was the Light of Muhammad. From that Light, He created us.” (Bihar al-Anwar, Vol. 15, p. 24)
2: The Revelation — A Light Transmitted
Tumblr media
The Cave of Hira was a place of silence, but that silence was torn apart by the command: Iqra.
Imam Ali, Peace be upon him, later revealed:
“I saw the light of revelation descend, and I heard the cry of Satan in anguish. I asked: ‘What has happened, O Messenger of Allah?’ He said: ‘Ali, this is the descent of revelation.’” (Nahj al-Balagha, Sermon 192)
This was not just the opening of a Book — it was the descent of cosmic order into earthly language. Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq, Peace be upon him, described it:
“The Quran is the eternal covenant written in divine ink. Its bearer was Muhammad, and its interpreters are we — the Household.” (Tafsir al-Ayyashi, Vol. 1, p. 17)
3: Dawat Dhul Ashira — The First Declaration
Tumblr media
The Prophet, Peace and Blessings upon him and his Purified Household, gathered his clan and declared his mission. When he asked who would stand with him, it was a boy who answered — Ali, Peace be upon him.
“I was the youngest, but the first to stand, for I saw not a man speaking, but a divine light calling me.” (Tafsir al-Tha’labi under 26:214)
The Imams, Peace be upon them, would later emphasize that this moment was the first public covenant — the laying of the foundation of Wilayah, the inseparable bond between Nubuwwah (Prophethood) and Imamate.
4: Ghadir Khumm — The Completion
Tumblr media
The Farewell Pilgrimage was not complete until the caravan was halted at Ghadir Khumm. In the blistering heat, a pulpit was raised. And there, the Prophet, Peace and Blessings upon him and his Purified Household, sealed the final divine decree:
“Of whomsoever I am the master, Ali is his master.” (Al-Amali by Sheikh al-Mufid, p. 29)
Imam al-Ridha, Peace be upon him, declared:
“There is no day greater than Ghadir, for on that day, Allah perfected the faith and appointed the protector of His message.” (Al-Amali by Sheikh al-Saduq, p. 125)
This was no political appointment. It was a cosmic transfer of trust — the Amanah carried through the prophets, now placed in the hands of the one soul fit to guard it.
5: After the Prophet — Guardians of Memory
The tragedy after the Prophet’s passing was not merely political. It was the deliberate silencing of those who truly knew him. Imam Ali, Peace be upon him, said:
“They prevented us from the inheritance of his knowledge, even though we were the doors to his wisdom.” (Nahj al-Balagha, Sermon 2)
Yet the Imams, Peace be upon them, persisted. Each one preserved fragments of his Seerah — not as mere narrations, but as lived realities. Imam Muhammad al-Baqir, Peace be upon him, stated:
“We, the Household, carry in our chests the complete knowledge of his life — every breath, every word, every silence.” (Bihar al-Anwar, Vol. 26, p. 117)
6: Beyond Biography — Mystical Unity
Tumblr media
For the Imams, Peace be upon them, the Prophet’s life was not a story from the past. It was a living reality within them. Imam Ali, Peace be upon him, said:
“He and I are from the same Light, split in two.” (Tafsir al-Burhan, Vol. 4, p. 61)
Imam al-Hussain, Peace be upon him, in Karbala, cried:
“By Allah, I fight only to revive the path of my grandfather Muhammad.” (Maqtal al-Muqarram, p. 216)
For them, his memory was not just sacred — it was identity.
7: Awaiting the Mahdi — Completing the Circle
Tumblr media
Imam Muhammad al-Baqir, Peace be upon him, explained:
“When our Qaim (the Mahdi) rises, he will complete what my grandfather began, for his hand will hold the same sword that my grandfather raised.” (Bihar al-Anwar, Vol. 51, p. 133)
Imam al-Mahdi, Peace be upon him, calls upon us even today:
“I am the son of the one declared master at Ghadir. I am the son of the one who was slandered after his death. And I am the proof that the covenant of Muhammad still stands.” (Ziyarat Nahiyah)
Conclusion: To Know Him is to Know Them
To understand Prophet Muhammad, Peace and Blessings upon him and his Purified Household, through the eyes of the 12 Imams, Peace be upon them, is to understand Islam as a seamless garment of divine guidance — woven from the threads of Nubuwwah and Imamah.
The Prophet’s story does not end with his death. It lives on in his heirs — in their words, their sacrifices, their unbroken covenant.
To follow the 12 Imams, Peace be upon them, is not sectarianism. It is to trace the light of Muhammad, Peace and Blessings upon him and his Purified Household, through the ones who knew him best — the ones who preserved his soul in their own chests.

Some days, we rush to our musallah (prayer mat), eager to stand in front of Allah ﷻ, feeling that khushū’ and that sweetness in being close to Him. And other days, it feels as if we’re dragging our feet, exhausted, distracted, or don’t really feel like praying. And it’s in those moments when shayṭān whispers to us, making us feel as if we’ve failed—that our ṣalāh isn’t “good enough,” that Allah ﷻ will be displeased, that we’re not good Muslims. We’re so hard on ourselves because we feel as if every ṣalāh needs to be filled with khushū’, sweetness and tranquility, and we become disheartened when it’s not.
But dear soul, don’t you see? The fact that you still pray, even when your heart feels heavy, even when you’re dragging your feet, even when you don’t feel like it, shows how much you long to please Allah ﷻ. That even when it feels difficult, your soul knows where it belongs—before Him.
And it’s okay. It’s okay if not every ṣalāh is filled with khushūʿ. It’s okay if some days feel like a struggle. Perhaps those ṣalāh’s are even more beloved to Allah ﷻ because they are a testament to your perseverance, your unwavering effort to turn back to Him.
So to the one dragging their feet to ṣalāh—keep going. Keep knocking on Allah’s door. He will, for sure, open it in a way that fills your heart with a love so deep that your soul will love to stand before Him, again and again.
May Allah ﷻ grant us the sweetness of ṣalāh and the ability to worship Him with sincerity, no matter how we feel. Amīn.

The Prophet ﷺ said: Allah the Almighty said: “I am as My servant expects Me to be. I am with him when he makes mention of Me. If he makes mention of Me to himself, I make mention of him to Myself; and if he makes mention of Me in an assembly, I make mention of him in an assemble better than it. And if he draws near to Me an arm’s length, I draw near to him a fathom’s length. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him at speed.”
What this means is the way we choose to see Allah is the way we will find Him. The more we invest in our relationship with Allah, the more we find. Our relationship with Allah allows us to feel loved, seen, protected, supported, and healed. But only if we see our relationship with Him in that way. Like any relationship, it grows with regular conversation. With trust. With vulnerability. With effort. With consistency. And the best thing is Allah already knows us better than we know ourselves. So why don’t we approach Him while truly internalizing that? That He already knows what we hope for, the gentleness we need, and how we feel. Doesn’t that make it easier to be vulnerable with Him?
Our relationship with Allah is one of those things we have to experience for ourselves to appreciate. You can tell others to make duaa for you. But don’t you want to experience what it’s like to make a secret duaa and have Allah respond to you? To be sad about something and have Allah Himself cheer you up in a way that only someone who knows you deeply can? To secretly wish for something and have someone with the power to help you reach it and whose nearness to you means He is with you at every step of the process? All these moments fill us with love for Him.
If you don’t know how to approach Allah with love, ask Him to show you how. Put in effort every day and show up even when it’s hard to. It will be your most rewarding relationship. It will heal you in ways you didn’t know were possible. It will fill you with love and light, and make everything easier. It will make you more compassionate. One who has someone they can fully depend on, trust, and be vulnerable with feels able to take on anything that comes their way. Let that someone be Allah 🩵

Reading surah Maryam I learnt something.
People questioned her chastity- and most likely shamed and questioned her.
Allah swt told Maryam PBUH to not speak to anybody
That is when baby Isa a.s spoke from the cradle and defended his mother, also explaining he was a messenger of Allah swt.
Allah swt knew Maryam pbuh didn’t do any adultery. And obviously if someone came to you today and accused you of committing a crime you didn’t, the first thing you would do is try to clear your name.
Yet Maryam PBUH was ordered not to speak to anybody. And look at the miracle. Her baby spoke for her!
Today we feel lonely- people say bitter things to us, we might be correct even, but be patient. God has a plan for you.
Source:
Surah Maryam (19:26):
“So eat and drink, and put your heart at ease. But if you see any of the people, say, ‘I have vowed silence1 to the Most Compassionate, so I am not talking to anyone today.’”

Reflection from the Qur'an
“And whoever fears Allah, He will make a way out for Him. And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allāh - then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allāh will accomplish His purpose. Allāh has already set for everything a [decreed] extent.”
Surat at-Talaaq, ayāt 2-3
Oftentimes when we're going through the most difficult hardships and trials in our lives, when we fail to see the light at the end of the tunnel; when we fail to see any silver lining in that situation and we feel like we've reached a dead end with no solution in sight to be able to help us resolve this matter at hand, we become susceptible to feelings of powerlessness, hopelessness and helplessness. However, it is during these agonising moments when the ayat from the Qur'an in the words of Allah subhaanahu wa ta'ala supplies our hearts with comfort and solace. In this particular set of ayāt, He tells us that as long as we continue to remain fearful of Him, we're conscious of Him and as long as our actions align with whatever He has decreed for us in a way that helps us to attain His pleasure, He is Al-Fattah - someone who constantly and repetitively keeps opening up doors for us. It's a Mubalaghah word in Arabic. It grants us immense relief because regardless of the situation we're stuck in, there's always a door waiting for us to be opened by Allah. It might take some time, it might not occur in a blink of an eye, but at the end of the day, it's positioned in the best way even if we cannot see it. In addition to that He provides for us from places that we can't even surmise; places that surpass our imagination. There's a lesson I recently learned in one of my courses and it enriched my understanding of how we actually perceive Allah's help. My Ustadha said that whenever we're going through a seemingly insurmountable challenge, we're looking for Allah's help in a very specific way. We want His help to reach us in a way that we expect. But quite often, His help reaches us in ways that we're not looking for or we're not expecting. His help traverses through sources that would seem impossible. He To supplement this reflection with an anecdote from my life -
I'm someone who has grappled with severe episodes of anxiety for almost all my life. For someone who has struggled or is struggling with mental health issues they know how difficult it could be to function normally in your daily life when these emotions keep shackling you and people around you usually neglect that and they take it as an indicator of lack of emaan. It's very hard to explain this to others and it also hinders your ability to practice your faith in a better way or to fulfill your potential and continues to hold you back from doing what you're capable of. And so I've been making constant and countless du'as to Allah subhaanahu wa ta'ala to relieve me from my anxieties. I've been seeking refuge in Him from all kind of mental health issues that persist and requesting Him to put an end to them. Personally, I wanted Him to uproot these emotions completely at a single instance and replace them with peace and serenity in my heart. He is the Controller of the Hearts, everything is within His control and ability, had He wanted He could've just removed those feelings at a kun. And it would have been. All He needed was to say a word to change the state of my heart to something I desired and hoped for. That is how I perceived His help to take shape but He knew what was within my best interest and how I could become a source of His help to others. His help descended in the form of this online course on Mental Health through the lens Islam that I instantly signed up for without giving it a second thought. It was only when I reached halfway through this course that the help of Allah starting taking shape before my eyes. Allah is truly al-Latif and He opened up this opportunity for me. He brought me across it as I was pleading for His help day and night with tears in my eyes; when I felt my heart constricted under the weight of all my anxieties and fears. He wanted me to make the effort to go through the course, take lessons and apply the knowledge gained all along, similar to how He asked Maryam سلام عليها to shake the branch of that palm tree when He could've just relieved her of the pain of labour in the blink of an eye. Choosing to follow along the lessons during this course has not only proven to be incredibly beneficial to help me manage my own emotions but it has been equipping me with the tools to assist others if and when I find them in a similar spot. In addition to that, I've been receiving training to help my kids in the future, InshāAllah, to tackle their emotions and weather them by coming out strong, bi'idnillah. Had Allah not opened this opportunity for me and replaced my anxieties without any effort on my part, then I wouldn't have been able to learn how to regulate other emotions like grief that I'm yet to fully experience as a part of this dunya. Or His help would have remained confined to me without its benefit reaching miles. It brings tears to my eyes as I reflect over my situation and how Allah's attribute Al-Hakeem has played a role in this. He truly knew what was the best way to send His help upon me. This course was that door that was waiting to be opened. Although His help reached me in a way that I wasn't expecting it was the better than what I could have asked for. And it was the best choice made by someone who I know to love me more than myself and is more merciful to me than my own self. As I contemplate over this incident, it seems to have shifted my perspective on how I choose to view these emotions. Instead of perceiving them as one of my weaknesses, I look at them as a great source of strength that I was oblivious to; that I didn't know I possessed. SubhānAllah!
May Allah subhaanahu wa ta'ala grant us the wisdom to look for His help in places we don't expect and may He protect us from falling into despair and hopelessness, Allahumma Aameen.

California’s unfolding reality is a striking reflection of the wisdom found in Surah Al-Ankabut. 🌌📖
This Quranic chapter reminds us of the fleeting nature of worldly life and the enduring importance of faith and resilience. In a world full of challenges, these divine truths guide us toward deeper understanding and purpose.
Let this verse inspire you to reflect on the balance between the temporary and the eternal. ✨ What does it mean to truly rely on something everlasting? 🌿

currently listening to surah taha as i felt compelled to and this particular verse hit.
{ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ عَلَى ٱلۡعَرۡشِ ٱسۡتَوَىٰ }
[surah taha: 5]
the most compassionate, ˹who is˺ established on the throne.
whenever we think of people in power, we don't think of mercy but rather abuse. the expection is betterment and instead most times, it's the opposite. having that much control on the lives of others will result in distance from empathy so they're acting on their sole benefit.
allah will never do that because of his compassion. allah wants the best for his servants out of love, rather than any benefit obtained from doing so. he is above needing anything and anyone.
it truly is comforting to know the one who has the most compassion and mercy is overseeing your matters so whatever happens is in your best interest

A couple of years ago, I forgot who actually said it but I was listening to a khutbah or something on YouTube, and the speaker said that once you reach a certain level it's like you unlock a channel with Allah swt and you start hearing what He swt is trying to tell you, you start seeing the signs, you sort of become in a constant communication with Allah swt even in the simplest of ways, etc etc. And that always fascinated me, the thought alone, like imagine being able to communicate with Allah swt in very simple ways without needing much steps or idk.. anyways, fast forward today, right now, I got on Tumblr and wanted to write a post about my struggle with music now that I am spending the summer in Tunisia, and how the culture, especially in summer, with all the festivals and the weddings and the parties, revolves around music and you find yourself exposed to that constantly, and most often unwillingly.. and how it was so much easier for me to control my exposure to music back home. But then, I discarded the mental notification that told me to write the post and kept passively scrolling.. a few scrolls down I am met with one of my most favorite verses from my most favorite surah :
و ألقيت عليك محبة مني ( سورة طه )
So I automatically smiled and was about to reblog it as my initial reaction to it, but then I felt like it was a message from Allah swt reminding me of the time of my life I was so obsessed with surat Ta Ha, I would listen to it religiously, on repeat, I even managed to learn parts of it just from listening, and it reminding me of those times where I would use the time I am commuting to listen to my daily Qur'an playlist, and it did feel that Allah swt is answering the post I haven't even posted, He swt acknowledging and resolving that only existed in my thoughts, and it gets better! He swt chose my favorite surah as a reminder because He swt - the All-knowing - obviously knows my attachement to surat Ta Ha and knows it would invoke such a positive emotional reaction in me. Now tell me this isn't a proof of this verse from surat Ta Ha as well:
وَاِنۡ تَجۡهَرۡ بِالۡقَوۡلِ فَاِنَّهٗ يَعۡلَمُ السِّرَّ وَاَخۡفٰى
20:7) Whether you speak out aloud (or in a low voice), He knows what is said secretly, and even that which is most hidden.
And a reminder of this verse from surat Qaf
(50:16) Surely We19 have created man, and We know the promptings of his heart, and We are nearer to him than even his jugular vein.
The point is, indeed Allah swt is closer to us than we can ever imagine or perceive with our human abilities, all we have to do is listen.
Alhamdullillah for such a beautiful religion 🥹.
