I'll share the Grand Tour of all my silly robot collection because I got the tism,

These are my TFP figures from the R.E.D. line. Arcee and Knockout were my first transformers figures ever and I stalked the Hasbro Pulse site for a YEAR waiting on TFP Optimus and Megatron. They're fairly affordable and retailed for $25 each. I bought my Optimus and Megatron from Big Bad Toy Store online so if you want a reliable seller for not a high markup price I totally recommend grabbing them there.

These are some random Optimus's I've gotten over the years, from left to right I have a RID Optimus my brother gave to me, a Flame Toys Furai (I think) G1 Optimus model kit I found in a hobby lobby, a Rise of the Beasts Optimus I snagged while in Ohio, and an Orion Pax figure my dad bought me.

This shelf has the most recent additions, left to right I got the Earthspark Optimus while I was in Florida this past week, the fig pin in a V-Stock, the other Optimus on top of the Funko I ALSO in Florida this past week, the Funko Pop from my brother yesterday, the worlds smalled Optimus from a toy store, and the MLP Optimus on EBay.

I love info dumping about my poor financial decisions TYSM. Other collections I have include some shadow high dolls and my obscene G3 MLP collection but those are adventures for another time. But otherwise I am planning on resin printing that TFP Soundwave model that's going around (waiting on the resin to come in) and I'm cosplaying Optimus for an anime convention I'm going to soon! Which will be the Bishoujo figure's outfit and I'll 3d print his helm to wear so YAY! I go to college this fall and I'm planning on bringing all my Optimuses for my dorm lmao so I'll probably share that adventure when decorating my dorm (also found an Optimus twin bed set 👁️👁️).

Wera belongs to the people of the Zera. She was born on an abandoned farm on Rakwah and was discovered purely by chance by a passing traveler. He brought her to Bangaloi, but she soon ended up in the Childcare Center in Brides-sluice (poor district of Bangaloi near Leadharbor).

She grew up on the streets, but from an early age resisted the toxic influence of the gangs that dominated Brides-sluice, as well as the corruption of corporate enforcers and R.E.D. forces. As a result, she was often harassed and threatened. In order to survive, she trained relentlessly - both mentally and physically - and grew into a strong, tough young woman.

Her fight for justice, which often turned into physical confrontation, with thugs caught the attention of an older man named Hon. Hon was a member of a species called Gwond which are known for their warlike culture, but he was unusually peaceful and had long been part of the Arcpunks of Bangaloi. He took care of Wera and became a father - or even grandfather - figure to her. Inspired by Hon, she eventually joined the Arcpunks herself and began fighting for good with the help of the Arc. Even after Hon’s death (He died peacefully in his sleep due to his advanced age), Wera remained active. The Arc never led her to distant Chunks - it was almost as if the Arc believed Bangaloi needed her.

That changed when she met Serric - a man who was, at the time, completely broken and on the run from the CCG. She helped him confront and atone for his past, which had been marked by cruelty and disregard for others. Since Serric was constantly being hunted by R.E.D. forces, he was frequently forced to flee Bangaloi, and Wera accompanied him on his journeys. The two became a close-knit team and soon saw each other as something like siblings.

Today, both are part of the crew aboard the Dipper Sally, adventuring across the entire sector and beyond. She’s not exactly someone who goes unnoticed, which at times draws skeptical or even dismissive glances. Wera may be humble by nature, but she knows exactly who she is - and when treated unfairly, she rises above it with quiet confidence.

G1 Hot Rod, HasLab Liokaiser, that exclusive black version of Energon Rodimus, Armada Unicron, Cybertron Primus... there's more but these fuckers will cost me sooooooo fucking much oml--

What grails have you obtained and how?

HasLab Deathsaurus, Legacy Cybertron Universe Metroplex, G1 Crosshairs & Pinpointer, WFC Jetfire, MP Star Saber, Animated Swindle, Fortress Maximus (Perfect Effect-DX03)...

Aside from Metroplex, all were bought off eBay for questionable amounts of money...

But I wanna just tell this story of Legacy C.U. Metroplex rq--

This was months before I'd ever watch Cybertron, but when I glanced up on a high shelf at my local GameStop, I was stunned at the beauty of a man that sat on there... giant box, carrying his giant saw thing... I was entranced... I knew I needed him...

this was really early in my collecting years so this was a MAAASSIVE step forward.

I saved for weeks, keeping my hands tight around my money from my job, until one day when my grandma, mom, and I were coming out of Target. I glanced to the GameStop and I told mother "I have to see something"... she let me go, and I went. I was so happy to ask the employee to grab my giant boy off the high shelf and he did. He handed it to me and I was like

holding it so tight and i didn't even blink when handing my card over.

My mom and grandma were like :0 when I climbed into the car with a giant box that was the size of my gyadamn upper body--

Do you have a definitive Optimus and/or Megatron? If so, which ones are they?

I don't! It depends on how I'm feeling. For the past few weeks, I have considered Armada Megatron and G1 Cartoon Optimus as my definitive goobs.

What was the first toy you ever bought?

First Transformer I ever got was the Studio Series BB movie Shockwave in a core class size. My father bought him for me all the way back in 2023. I have since sold him off :D

The first Transformer I bought with my own money... if I remember correctly, it was the R.E.D Prime Knock Out figure, also from 2023. He's been sold off, but I remember having a lot of fun posing him around.

TRANSFORMERS DESIGN RANT!!!

Ngl I rlly fuck with tfp designs, despite the g1 designs growing on me A LOT and I LOVE THEM…tfp had such good ideas. Like of course the decepticons should be more uniform with each other and purple. Of course they should be pointy bc evil. And of course NONE of the should have noses they’re ALIENS!!!

Like that they did all that but it jus kinda got dropped bc it wasn’t familiar or as marketable 😔

I rlly wish transformers kept more aspects of that or would at least explore more aspects of making them more alien at the very least. I also just love tfp and tfa for stylizing their designs sm too, like I know it’s a pain in the ass (almost if not pretty much impossible) to make a transforming toy with that but god they look so cool. Rlly wish they made that tfp Starscream R.E.D. figure but oh well. I rlly want to get the tfp Megatron figure it’s just- god it’s so cool. I have the R.E.D. Knockout tho so 😋 he’s my only transformer figure over ever owned lol.

Optimus Primal

I don't exactly remember when I got this guy, but it was sometime back in 2021. I guess it doesn't really matter anyway.

This is Optimus Primal. We've seen him before, but THIS version is part of the now defunct (or I presume it is by now) R.E.D. toyline or 'Robot Enhanced Design' line Just a fancy way of Hasbro trying to merge the concepts of Action Masters and Star Wars' Black Series figures.

I've covered a few of them at this point, and I never bought that many, aside from the obligatory Optimus Prime, Megatron, and a few others; I thought mostly the line was a bit of a let down.

But I would say Optimus Primal is (mostly) an exception.

Bot mode:

I suppose it would be pointless to talk about the beast mode, considering he doesn't have one.

Anyway, Optimus Primal is in his Season 1 robot mode, and I gotta say, THIS is fantastic!

The sculpting of the fur is so good; some of the best in my opinion.

The Optimus head sculpt might be one of the best Primal head sculpts I've ever seen too (though I do think the blue of his helmet and the gray of his mask are bit too dark).

The range of motion on this figure is good. The toy is capable of a lot of different poses which is great for photography.

For some reason, the chest panel and the backpack are removable, and I'm not really sure why. There is some sculpting under the chest panel, so I suppose this could be a form of battle damage...OR maybe since some of the other R.E.D figures have similar removable pieces, perhaps they can swapped around to different figures...

Accessories:

Optimus Primal comes with few accessories; a pair of closed fists and his two swords.

Starting with the swords. They're fine. I think they look really nice, they feel solid, and look accurate to the shows design.

On the downside, however, is not with the swords, but with Optimus' gripping hands.

The plastic of the gripping hands is very thick and not very maleable. I had to exert some strength in order to wedge those sword handles into the hands. It's not fun.

Swapping out the grip hands for the closed fists is very simple. And once you got those dukes on, Optimus Primal is ready to box.

They look fine, but I wish Optimus came with another pair of hands, with open palms or something.

Final Thoughts:

R.E.D. Optimus Primal might be one of the best this line had to offer (in spite of its flaws) in its brief existence.

The sculpting is good, the level of articulation is good, the accessories...are lacking. But at the end of the day, it's just fun. Maybe not $20 worth of fun, but fun nonetheless.

I do have to say that I think 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime scales in well with RED Optimus Primal
