Tomorrow marks the start of my first day at work in 2025, and honestly, I can’t say I’m excited about it. In fact, I’ve been battling waves of anxiety and intermittent panic attacks just thinking about everything that could go wrong. I keep imagining scenarios where I mess up, don’t fit in, or fail to meet expectations, and it’s overwhelming.

Still, deep down, I’m holding on to the hope that tomorrow might turn out to be a great day.

It's my birthday!

There’s no grand celebration, no dramatic revelation, just me, quietly wondering if I’ve “made it” or not. Truth is, I don’t even know what “made it” means anymore.

There is no recognition for surviving twenties, there is absolutely no award for securing a job and achieving stable living conditions, not to mention the fact that surviving the last decade does not come with a receipt stamped “success”, proving my existence has a purpose.

Sometimes I feel okay, like I’m on track. But most days, I wonder if I’ve done enough, or if I’m just floating through life trying to figure it all out.

But one thing’s clear: I still want to improve. Gusto ko pa ring ayusin sarili ko, not just for success, pero for peace of mind. For growth. For healing.

One of the things I really want to learn this year is how to stop caring about people who don’t really care about me.

It sounds cold, but it’s something I need. Nakakapagod din kasi mag-exert ng effort sa mga taong hindi ka naman talaga iniisip. I'm learning that not everyone deserves my energy. And that’s okay. Hindi ko na kailangan pilitin yung mga one-sided relationship.

This year, I want to be more mindful. Gusto ko piliin kung saan ako mag-iinvest ng time, energy, at puso. I want to protect my peace, to be okay with walking away from things and people that no longer serve me.

Maybe I haven’t “made it” yet, and maybe I never will, not in the way society defines it. Pero I’m still here. Still showing up. Still trying.

I think, for now, that’s more than enough. And hey, I just turned 32.

here's a random pc concept/au ramble ive got at 1 am: cheerleader!vern (skirts! pom poms! dancing in his routines!). nerd+geek!brent (glasses, textbooks and binders, gaming his heart out). preppy!nick (nick in a suit. or that shirt with sweater around the neck outfit. partying but still wanting to do his best). or jock!nick. nerd+geek!sophist is also a thought but consider: goth or emo!sophist (dark nails+lipstick, eyeliner, earbuds in, always has random lore/fact drops). these are all mainly outfit concept-based, but it can go into their dynamics too.

and absolutely mixing and matching them. i'd see all those concepts going crazy for each of them. like emo!vern who's prob honestly closer to scenecore/pop punk with dark+dyed hair and loves avril lavigne and has 'rock 'n roll' and 'here's to never growing up' on blast (am i projecting my 2000s-2010s self? YES). preppy!sophist (blazers and khaki shorts and long sweaters and omg wait sophist in a frat sounds like a TERRIBLE idea LMAO... unless?). jock!brent (basketball. swimming. just an all-rounder with a varsity jacket that one- or ALL- of them want). cheerleader!nick too, coordinating the best mocking/roast chants and taunts! once he's in it, he's committed as hell. and that's just a glimpse of the possibilities.
