Curse Caster

When Danny had time, he liked to learn more about being a ghost. In usual circumstances this wouldn’t happen very often but he was the favorite of a God of Time. He learned many things, explored many places, met many ghosts (who had no inclination to leave the realms, thank the Ancients).

One of the things he learned as he grew in power was blessings and curses. He particularly used the curses on the GIW. Both on their person and their base grounds. It was even to the point that it was almost like a curse net on the jerks. Blessing his friends was a given, of course.

The thing was, there was no such thing as unbreakable curses. The ones considered ‘unbreakable’ actually were just curses that had unknown or difficult to complete conditions. The more conditions you add to allow the breaking of the curse, the stronger you could make it.

So after fighting the GIW for years, his curses being the only thing keeping them from being more successful, when Danny saw a chance to drag them into the limelight he took it. He cast a curse of death like sleep on a hero during a school field trip. He knows it might not be the best way but Clockwork had told him it would end with the best timeline.

—Curse Details—

Properties of the curse: Starts slowly, only kicks in once cursed falls asleep. Causes the cursed to be in a death like sleep. No atrophy of the body or other consequences besides maybe a bit of soreness upon breaking of the curse. The cursed is mildly protected from damage, and requires no upkeep (food or water).

Conditions to break: The end of the GIW. The reformation of the GIW. The end of the Justice League. 10 years of time passing in this specific dimension (aka: no you can’t move them to another dimension to beat the curse). End of the current American Government.

What do you think is the most character accurate fic you've ever read??

Ever read? That's an impossible question lmao. I have been reading fanfics since i was twelve. I have read fanfics I don't even remember 🫡

Obviously it's a subjective question to begin with but part of the fun of fanfic to me is exploring different avenues for characters according to different author's preferences and putting blorbos into incredibly un-canon Situations. But in a lot of those settings what is "in-character" is even more thrown asunder because it's so far removed from anything that would even remotely happen in canon.

I guess what I mean by that is a lot of the fics I read and love don't necessarily align with my personal ideas of/headcanons for a character, yet still remain "character accurate" in my esteem, if you will (I'm thinking, for example, of that one Gay!Roy fic which is EXCELLENT and incredibly in-character imo and yet I still don't personally think Roy The Character is gay. But even though that's generally not how I think of his sexuality I still liked exploring that alternative verse and still recognized that story's Roy as Roy. Does that make sense?)

My biggest pet peeve with the cozy games with heart events for romanceable options:

Why do later heart events immediately mean that by the last one/two, they'll have kinda heavy-handed romance implications/vibes? I want to be bestestest friends with people and max their hearts out platonically, I wanna have my BFFsie AND my S/O - AND I DON'T WANT TO FEEL LIKE I'M LOW-KEY CHEATING ON MY S/O JUST FOR GETTING CLOSER TO FRIENDS!!!!!!!

Not only would it just be cool to have MORE aromantic options in general (listen I absolutely ADORE Krobus Stardew and I will FIGHT anyone who speaks bad on him, but it would be so cool if I could just roommate the others too without worry about romance- why does it have to JUST be him why can't I be bffs with Abby and we platonically move in together LIKE HHHHHHHHHH), but for people like me who feel Bad about doing shit like that, it would make the game infinitely more enjoyable

Esama, I absolutely adore your writing. this is going to sound strange, but I was re-reading one of my favourite manga (One Outs) and I kept getting side tracked because it reminded me so much of you! Which is strange because it's about baseball lol. I realised that a lot of your stories are told from an outsider POV or at least multiple perspectives on a charismatic character –which I'm only now realising is my ultimate one true trope.

Do you have any recommendations for good stories (fan-fiction or original material) that does outsider POVs or plays around with perspectives?

Just a passing thought - but you know how Ayano has bad grades? And how it was so bad she was in summer school even though it was the start of her high school year?

How much of that was because she was genuinely having trouble with school and how much of it was because of Kano replacing her so nobody would notice? Kano - who to my knowledge, didn't go to school.

I could be wrong, but I don't remember Shintaro saying anything about her grades becoming bad in high school, it's safe to assume she was already struggling beforehand, but would she have been getting grades as low as 56 (a grade seen in Toumei Answer) if she were attending school regularly? Or would they at least be passing?

Just a stray thought that keeps bugging me.
