Chrysler CCV Concept, 1997. The China Concept Vehicle took inspiration from the Citroen 2CV and had a similar raison d'etat, to mobilise rural communities in emerging markets. The name was later changed to Composite Concept Vehicle to reflect the car’s construction from polyethylene terephthalate, or PET, the plastic that drinks bottles are made from which is fully-recyclable. It was powered by an air-cooled flat two-cylinder engine, like the 2CV, sourced from lawnmower manufacturer Briggs & Stratton. The project was shelved after the ill-fated merger with Daimler-Benz in 1998. Now both Chrysler and Citroën are part of the Stellantis multinational automotive manufacturing company.

I got around to doing some soapmaking last night, finally! :)
Made 1 batch of shampoo bars and 1 batch of soap bars.

Rosemary mint shampoo bars. I want to see if I like the hand feel of the smaller bars compared to the donut size.
Made some larger size ones too.

I'll clean them up later once they've cooled and set. I let it go to trace a little too thick because I didn't have the molds set up proper before hand and panicked a bit haha

Almost castile soap bars (olive oil, castor oil) i added in some red mica soap coloring.
As well, Thought I'd share a small update on the shampoo bars themselves,

This is what's currently left of the first batch i made, I quite like it so far and am at this time planning to fully switch permanently. Switching again to bar was a bit weird cause most other shampoo bars have really dried out my hair Within a fairly short time.
This so far hasn't done that. There's still that weird feel between wet to dry, but once dry, hairs nice and soft. Not to snarly and is managable.
I did stop using the conditioner bar, it is nice on occasion but not quite manageable with my hair type. Made my hair brush very very linty and my hair more snarled the day after even with rebrushing and braiding the night before. I did find i liked the conditioner bar a lot for dry cracked winter skin so I suppose that's a win and a future gift idea.
Bonus, I've been able to work on some quilt repair the last couple weeks.

i like to use blue thread and scraps to repair quilts.
Its been a bit challenging doing this by machine, but it has gone by a lot faster than by hand. So for now, I'll keep rolling with it :) after this repair work is done i intend to start binding the next quilt I'm working on.
Thanks for stopping by!

Do the Ingredients in a Candle Matter?
Toxic candle ingredients, including paraffin wax, low quality fragrances, and petroleum based additives, release a disturbingly wide range of harmful pollutants into the air when they are burned, posing significant and concerning risks to both your health and overall well-being. These hazardous substances can emit various volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that contribute significantly to poor indoor air quality, creating a troubling condition that many of us may not even realize is negatively affecting us on a daily basis in our homes and workspaces. Breathing in these toxins regularly can lead to a plethora of serious health issues, including respiratory problems, persistent headaches, and heightened allergy symptoms; all of which can substantially detract from your overall quality of life and emotional well-being. Furthermore, the soot produced as a byproduct of burning these conventional and cheaply made candles can settle on various surfaces, walls, and ceilings in your home, leading to further contamination and potential damage to your living environment, which makes it imperative to be fully aware of what you are inhaling.
By thoughtfully choosing eco-friendly alternatives like Healing Light Soy Candles®, which prioritizes clean ingredients, free from harmful additives, and are lovingly crafted with a strong emphasis on sustainability, you can create a clean, safe, and truly uplifting atmosphere in your home. Prioritize your health and well-being by lighting candles that not only enhance the beauty and ambiance of your space but also actively protect and enrich the air you breathe every single day with every flickering flame, bringing an abundance of peace, harmony, joy, and positivity into your life.
Additionally, by experiencing “The Original Sensory Journey®” you will be able to amplify the positive benefits of our candles. You can activate 4 of your 5 senses that will help you focus on relaxation and help you be more present in the moment. We provide, not just the highest quality candle with USA farmed soy wax, we also provide an inspirational quote, 528Hz music that helps with healing and relaxing, a label that shines light through the dark, a clean burning flame with eco-wicks, aromatherapy that can aid in boosting positive emotions, and a magnetic top gemstone that is great for fidgeters or to help amplify positive energy.
Give you, your family, and the Earth what you deserve. Give yourself Healing Light Soy Candles®.

Anyone else enjoy thrifting and thrift shopping?
It's one of my favorite ways of keeping stuff out of the garbage heap.
And Sometimes you just need something. Sometimes, it might be cheap pants, shirts, "new" cookware or eating utensils, ridiculous decorative stuff. A ton can be found through thrifting and i don't necessarily have to feel guilty in buying some stuff I might not have gotten otherwise (or needed). Mostly because while it's already had 1 life, why not another while it's still functional and keep it out of the dump longer? 🌱💚 🌱 no need for new for everything if it's already made and here :)
I haven't been able to for a long time as I like to carpool or have donations to bring with, was able to recently go with some friends and wanted to share some of the neat buys I found.
I don't usually get lucky with pretty homemade quilts being available when thrifting, but I found this one and am pretty excited about it, (this was my top find this time)

To me, it looks hand stitched entirely, there's a few small tears that will need minimal repair and a few spots that will need some reinforcement as theres a bit of thinning. Otherwise it's quite beautiful and I know it must have taken the maker a bit of time to do. Also i must admit, im kind of inspired to get my hands back to quilting again soon from this beauty.

A sweet deal on this embroidery floss and tool(?)
To be quite honest I'm not really sure what the tool being pointed at is, if anyone knows please share your knowledge! I'll likely use the floss on some hat projects for gifts this year.

Also, I found a bag with all these bobbins and thread. I've been looking for more bobbin containers cause I like to have a full one for the common colors I use when I'm sewing. These colors I'll probably use for binding smaller quilts (dog, cat, baby, and lap quilt sized) or for attempts at making clothing if fabrics are similar colored.
I also found
A set of ceramic measuring cups with handles,
kitchen knife,
2 crocheted blankets, lap/single sized,
2 nice new picture frames (still wrapped),
A book (fun reading material),
And what I thought was a ceramic pancake 🥞 or tortilla holder/warmer for breakfast, but I think it is actually for something else? I'm using it to store fresh ginger tubers at the moment (later, mayby garlic bulbs)
I was hoping for some nice fabric to try my hands at skirt making and some interesting quilting fabric, but nothing in the selection really caught my eye this round. Lots of pretty kitchen ware and nicknacks, though. Unfortunately, there no time to even look at the clothes before we had to head off, no big loss though.
That's it for now,
🌱🌻Happy Homesteading and sustainability efforts!🌻🌱

Sustainable & Versatile: The Power of Metal Cans in Modern Packaging
Metal cans are a game-changer in packaging, offering unmatched sustainability, durability, and recyclability. With nearly infinite recycling potential, they help reduce waste and carbon footprints while maintaining product freshness. Industries from food and beverage to pharmaceuticals are embracing metal cans as the go-to choice for eco-friendly packaging solutions.
As consumer demand for sustainable products rises, metal cans continue to lead the way in innovation and efficiency. Whether it’s aluminum or steel, their ability to be endlessly repurposed makes them a crucial part of a circular economy. Let’s make packaging greener, one can at a time
