The Gentlemen: Refined Aggression – TV Review
TL;DR – This was a weird, odd, yet profoundly compelling opening to a series.   ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: 4 out of 5. Disclosure – I paid for the Netflix service that viewed this series. The Gentlemen Review – It wasn’t all that long ago that I sat down to watch a truly bonkers yet very rough film called The Gentlemen. I hadn’t thought in a while, but as I was watching, snippets came back to me, and I…

Zhongli for the Genshin ask game please!
Genshin Character Ask game: Zhongli <3
There are entire several page long essays about the cultural inspirations of his character, stories, design, everything. Imo, he is Genshin's favorite in terms of level of cultural inspiration and pride to this day. You can read about a lot of them here!
One of these is his left thumb ring, which is called a 韘 / Shè in ancient China, and 扳指 / Bn Zhǐ now, implying he can shoot arrows with his left hand!
Tumblr media
The English translation did not do justice for a number of translations in his 2nd Story Quest, which you can read about here!
Most notably, Azdaha (aka Re Tuo in Chinese), wrote a whole poem about just how amazing Morax is, and that the title of the question "No Mere Stone" is also inspired by a Chinese poem: "我心匪石 不可转也, 我心匪席 不可卷也"

The most beautiful Kaya Scodelario looked in "The Gentlemen". And the overall scene is something that can actually be so personal. Him seeking her out. Like ending episode 6 thinking mom and dad (mum and dad) are going to war with each other...and then this...and then still the last two episodes being a roller coaster of whether or not they are going to be the literal death of one another. I have never had so much Good Stress from a ship that was Bad Stress when I was actually going through it. I aged and greyed so much through parts of this show, my poor heart.
To me, they have this low-key Bruce Wayne x Selina Kyle dynamic (sooooo, Bobby Glass would be Carmine Falcone? I can work with that), which, given how BatCat is one of my lifelong OTPs, I am sure subconsciously pulled me in. Like posh boy that can get down and dirty (so his ski mask era would be his Batman era 😅😂 "We're not criminals, Freddy"), however much he sees himself holding a higher moral ground over the underworld he must move through. And working-class girl, street smarts, that can no less look "elegant and stylish" and navigate the upper echelons; but at the end of the day is who she is and matter-of-factly💋💋💋💋a career criminal. (Kaya honestly even works as a face claim for Selina though her eyes may be closer to blue than green. I mean, the Gunnverse has to cast a Catwoman eventually, depending on the age range of their Batman... I will just leave this here for you for free, James.)
And then Princess Roseanne, the Countess of Tournai, would be Talia Al-Ghul especially when Susie lets slip some jealous vibes towards her (made me think of Anne Hathaway's snark about Marion Cotillard in the last Nolanverse film...the characters, not the actresses). Though ultimately I do see Eddie and Princess Roseanne as Just Friends and no conflict in that direction unless further miscommunication. (So much Misunderstanding Drama in this series and between OTP. When a good romantic comedy is not a romantic comedy; or even entirely a comedy.)
But really it comes down to their having such an *easy partnership*, naturally yielding to one another when it comes to it. The way Susie has her way about things -- most notably when she invites herself to meet Stanley Johnston -- and Eddie smoothly submits to her without in any way seeming whipped. Like their actions are always in agreement, even when their words are not. Those two are more married than most married folks I have seen on screen. Should have blacked out in Nevada than on the estate.
(Also, gotta love how she has him saved in her phone as "The Duke". Like forget Bridgerton...I would watch an entire season of TheoKaya going at each other in, Bridgerton ways. As it stands with this though, I could see how the greater artistic choice might be to just make this a stand-alone, but I would be greedy for any subsequent season. This is already technically an expansion on a film -- that I have yet to see -- so Guy Ritchie does not mind a revisit. I could use any more of these 2 families who fully drive the story of this world.)

mega man 8 they could never make me hate you!!!!!!
#finally beat the fake gamer allegations and finished the game so i have the right to aggressively glaze it now#like shit man yes it's a flawed game but my god it was a genuine attempt to evolve the classic mega man formula!!!!#genuinely believe that if we got a mega man 9 on the playstation in like '99 [because lmao] it could've been the coolest shit on earth#[yes i know mega man and bass is literally internally mega man 8.5 but it's got problems of its own lol]#keep the gorgeous pixel art style and creativity in stage gimmicks and the playstyle customisation options via bolts#and the genuine heartfelt attempt to tell a story even if it's simple and the quality of life features like being able to fucking save#and refine or replace the bits that didn't work like the sluggish jump response and wonky dub voice acting and jump jump slide slide#you know me i'm a sonic adventure 2 fan i love me some scuffed controls and charmingly bad english dubs but it's not for everyone#but instead we got fucking nothing for a decade and then they just nostalgia baited instead of actually trying to evolve the series#no shade to mega man 9 i'm about to play it and i bet i'll have fun but oh my GOD we have 11 games and eight of them look the fucking same#i don't care that the nes mega man spriting style is objectively extremely good and has stood the test of time i want something new!!!!#man. last time i had a big ol yap about a mega man game in the tags of a one sentence post was like 3-4 years ago. it's good to be back

This was so unnecessarily rude! 😅 And actually an example of why I’ve personally refrained from expressing any of my opinions against Maureen😅 I knew she had diehard fans and I personally don’t want to open this app only to read stuff like fuck my loyalty and to lay off with my opinions 😅 Especially when the author of the character that’s being discussed has said that they enjoy those opinions 😅
I know I’m being passive aggressive so don’t answer this if you’re worried about ruining the vibes on here. I just fear that an ask like that IS ruining said vibes though.
Yeah. I can see that very very very clearly. Sometimes I do feel like maybe the subject has been exhausted? Respectfully at least? Or at least maybe until there is actual new content to dissect, actually threshed out back story and more current things to consider for her.
Yet, I want asks on her. I would love some on other topics regarding her, ones that are more universally enjoyed. I’ve got a few here I’m working on, headcanons for certain things. That’s the vibe I’d like for all of these, and while I do love a good discussion I want it respectful on my blog.

...shout-out to the first-ever edit for Eddie x Susie on YouTube (though I maintain the teaser trailer actually gave us our first-ever EdSie song), my favourite kind of fan content for an OTP. I would say between this, the growing notes on posts, and the prospective Discord if anybody wants to help with that, we are well on our way.
Your love is scaring me No one has ever cared for me As much as you do Oooh, yeah, I need you here, oh

1970 Oldsmobile 442
The 1970 Oldsmobile 442 is a classic American muscle car that epitomizes the power and style of the golden age of performance vehicles. The 442 moniker stands for four-barrel carburetor, four-speed manual transmission, and dual exhausts, a formula that promises an exhilarating driving experience.
Under the hood, the 1970 442 is equipped with a 455 cubic inch V8 engine, capable of producing an impressive 365 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. This engine, known as the Rocket 455, is legendary for its raw power and smooth delivery, making the 442 a force to be reckoned with on the streets and the drag strip.
The exterior of the 442 is a blend of aggressive styling and refined elegance. It features a long, sleek body with bold lines, a prominent grille, and dual hood scoops that hint at the car's performance capabilities. The rear of the car is just as striking, with its distinct taillights and a subtle spoiler that adds to the overall sporty appearance.
Inside, the 442 offers a driver-focused cockpit with high-quality materials and a design that emphasizes both comfort and performance. The seats are supportive, the gauges are easy to read, and the overall layout is intuitive, making it a pleasure to drive.
The 1970 Oldsmobile 442 is not just a car; it's a symbol of an era when American muscle cars ruled the roads. With its powerful engine, stylish design, and iconic status, it remains a highly sought-after classic that continues to captivate enthusiasts and collectors alike.
