Wow, the Werecat twins might go down as the most botched Monster High release to date,and that's saying something for this company.
It's one thing to miss out on a drop entirely, its a whole other to actually manage to order the dolls during sporadic restocks only to have your order canceled a month later.

How long do commissions usually take? I’ve ordered from an artist before and they said nothing for like 3 months
I try to do them within 60 days but life gets in the way more than I’d like to sometimes 😅 if the artist hasn’t said anything you can always check in on progress and worst case scenario, you can always ask for a refund if you paid upfront
#I’m gonna call myself out because I know I can take forever on them#especially lately so sorry for any of those January commissions#time flies faster when I’m not the one waiting on it but I always appreciate check-ins in case the client just stops responding altogether#I had that happen a couple times and went to refund and literally couldn’t find them anymore#ive also been dealing with health issues since the start of February so the symptoms take up energy to deal with#and I’m a manager at my full time job and I hafta dedicate a lot of time to it#so yeah stuff happens and all that’s not super relevant to your question#but I’d highly recommend checking in with your artist#and if you have and they still haven’t responded#then that’s…..not good and they hafta be reported if you already paid#I at the very least even if I have no progress to show will come back and say hi 😂#make sure y’all know I’m at least still alive

had a bride with a fucking awful party today and even though she bought I’m terrified she’s going to write a negative review.
they wouldn’t listen and wouldn’t sit down. we don’t let the parties get up and pull dresses bc we have a small shop and 5 stylists running around at a time, we have a wide range of price points (literally $599-4000) and the dresses are not arranged by size or price.
they got up literally right after I led the bride to the dressing room, they pulled a dress over her budget, I TOLD them it was over budget but they insisted she try it on and her stupid fucking friend was like “mil will help pay” so I tried to get a number over the brides budget what she would be comfortable chipping in and of course she didn’t saw a number. I started her in dresses that WERE in her budget and they STILL! KEPT! HARPING! so I asked the bride, told her the price and she said she’d try it on for them. well of course she fell in love and said yes bc that’s what always happens.
she had brought along her grandmas veil from her wedding bc she wanted to incorporate it. it’s from the 40s so of course the ivory is darker than what ivory is today. and I’m like no I think it still looks beautiful with it!! but of course her fucking friend was like “no you have to wear one that color matches better” so I’m trying veils on her and the bride was like “well I want the lace to match perfectly” so I was like okay but keep in mind that would be a custom veil so… $$$… and then her fucking friend and mil talked her into that.
long story short she spent $1000 over budget bc of that + tariff surcharge I have to charge. then our credit card system has to process with a tip so I say “before you put your card in it will ask the dreaded tip question. it is absolutely not required so you can hit other and then enter to skip it” and she makes this snide little “well I’m already $1000 over budget so I’m not going to tip” like yeah babe I know that’s why I told you how to skip it. I’m sorry I literally cannot process it without it popping up the system does not let me.
AND OF COURSE her mil doesn’t help pay at all :))) baby don’t be mad at ME when EYEEEEE didn’t pull the dress in the first place OR!!!! convince you to buy a custom veil.
we also ask to take a pic with our said “yes to the dress” sign for socials and she was like “no.” which is totally fine but after everything felt off. AND THEN after they leave my coworker was like “yeah her fucking friend got snippy with ME” just because she put it back on the rack because it was IN THE WAY of her party!!!
all this to say that I just have a bad feeling about everything. at the end of the day the bride felt beautiful in her dress and I’m happy for her but I wish I had talked her out of the veil at least.
#we also require them to sign a contract so at least we’re protected if she does try anything#I kinda want to text my manager and be like …maybe hold off on ordering the veil#bc I just have SUCH a bad feeling about everything.#we don’t do refunds/take backsies tho so she’ll say no even if they did try anything

listen I know my job is basically tech support but at a certain point I think I should be allowed to pull a giant lever that opens a trap door beneath office workers, sending them directly to mandatory job training at my command

I cannot believe that this has genuinely been one of the hardest things I've ever done. On the bright side, this will be my first apartment ever and I don’t think I’ll ever participate in a housing market this brutal again lollll
#this has honestly taught me a lot in a…sociological sense? i guess?#because I’m seeing a growing number of native chicagoans place the blame on transplants#and I get why people are angry because ive had so many conversations with folks touring the same units as me who’ll say#‘we’re moving here from Miami/NYC/LA and you’d get this quality unit for double or triple the price there’#and then I’d get outbid by them because their salaries go farther and they’re willing to pay way more#and while i think bidding on a rental is immoral and you shouldn’t encourage landlords by participating in it#that isn’t ultimately the fault of renters looking for a place to live nor is it bad that people are moving here (obviously)#it’s landlords; management companies; restrictive city zoning laws; skyrocketing COL everywhere; poor job market; etc…#it’s also given me a real lesson in how harmful it can be for me to go and live somewhere with a lower baseline COL w/ my american $#I've just spent so long saving and waiting and waiting to get my own place and was so so so excited to take the leap and this has#completely bludgeoned that eagerness out of me#and I’ve been making plans to explore and live abroad and this has really given me pause to ask myself#how can I make sure I don’t contribute to this problem for other people?#woof#not to throw a pity party for myself because boohoo i have a job and i cant find a 1br :((( but goodness this has exhausted me#btw if u want an extra dose of evil most of these landlords are collecting non-refundable app fees and THEN asking for 'best offer'#fucking dogs

#teeth.txt#truly the practices of especially one of the bigger property management companies in this city are like#insane#what do you mean you rent based on who expresses INTEREST first. why would it not be who applies first?#i understand wanting to be like fair or whatever but 'expressing interest' in this case literally just means 'asking for a tour'#and you can't even SCHEDULE a tour because they have them at set times for each property#so if you‚ for example‚ work full time during the day. and all of the tours are scheduled during your work hours. uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh#you just have to take time off for a rental you likely won't even be allowed to APPLY for.#i just do not understand. AND your application fees aren't refundable??#AND you can't rent aight unseen. you HAVE to make it to the specific time that the tour is at#i guess fucking luckily this seems to mostly be just the one company but they have the fucking properties we're interested in!!!!!! aaah!!!
