So weit so Story...

🇬🇧 Milo is commissioned as a bounty hunter to catch his ex-wife. What seemed like a simple job is being complicated by the journalistic investigation of his ex in a murder. With a leading duo that works well, the film does not agree with each other whether it is a comedy or an action one. Keeping the viewer in limbo by confusing him. Using as a claim to the director of "Hicth" does nothing more than increase the expectation of a product that does not measure up. To make matters worse, Gerard Butler had starred the previous year in a great comedy "The harsh reality." #Exposados #ElCazarecompensas #OriginalFilms #RelativityMedia #ColumbiaPictures #SonyPictures #Comedia #Comedy #Action #Acción #TheBountyHunter #Películas2010 #Romance #AndyTennant #GeradButler #JenniferAniston #ChristineBaranski #JasonSudeikis #JoelMarshGarland #PeterGreene #AdamRose #DorianMissick #JeffGarlin #SiobhaFallon #MattMalloy #CathyMoriarty #JoePolito #CríticaCine #Review https://www.instagram.com/p/COQwjKoHyC-/?igshid=kptzfpjihlh2

Romeo and Juliet

1 hour 58 minutes
Rated R (Some Violence and Thematic Elements)
Directed by Carlo Carlei
Starring Hailee Steinfeld, Douglas Booth, Tomas Arana, Christian Cooke, Damian Lewis, Natascha McElhone, Lesley Manville, Laura Morante, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Leon Vitali, Ed Westwick, Tom Wisdom, Stellan Skarsgard, and Paul Giamatti
2.5 out of 4 stars
IN THEATERS NOW.
I think we've had enough of Romeo and Juliet. It's a classic, yes, and it always will be, but enough is enough. What about the other tremendous plays from the greatest playwright in the world? As You Like It? Othello? Twelfth Night? The Comedy of Errors? A Midsummer Night's Dream? How come we barely (if ever) see movies about them? I enjoyed this summer's Much Ado About Nothing and last year's Coriolanus because they're fabulous Shakespeare plays that barely get adapted onscreen. Now we have Romeo and Juliet, and as harmless and dedicated it may be it's still not necessary. The cast and crew keep mentioning that we need a movie about the play for this generation. I guess they have a point, and every English teacher imaginable will no doubt show this movie because of how faithful it is to the play. Yet despite its faithfulness and pretty costumes and locations, this adaptation is pretty forgettable.
The best Romeo and Juliet will always be Baz Luhrmann's with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes, which is commonly known as Romeo + Juliet. It's one of my all-time favorite movies. Shakespeare might have disliked it because many bits of it are different from his story, but there's passion and power in every scene. The moment where the lovers first see each other through the exotic fish tank is one of the most beautiful cinematic moments. Likewise, the scene at the end where Juliet discovers her dead lover and shoots herself to be with him is one of the most heartbreaking moments in all the movies I've ever seen (the way the camera gently drifts upward and gazes at the dead lovers gives me the chills every time. Hell, just writing about it gives me the chills. Now I want to watch it!). Carlo Carlei's version, which was adapted by Downtown Abbey creator Julian Fellowes, avoids the modern setting and takes the story back to its traditional time in Verona, Italy (the movie was shot in the country as well).
Hailee Steinfeld (in her first appearance since her Oscar-nominated role in True Grit three years ago) and Douglas Booth are the star cross'd lovers. She's a Capulet and he's a Montague, and both families are mortal enemies (I think we all know this story already, but I'll explain it anyway if by chance someone who's never read Romeo and Juliet reads this review). Juliet's closest friend is Nurse (Lesley Manville), and her parents (Damian Lewis and Natascha McElhone) are urging her to marry a hideous bore named Paris (Tom Wisdom) who has the worst haircut in the world. Romeo is a romantic who's mad because the girl he loves doesn't love him back. One night him, his cousin Benvolio (Kodi Smit-McPhee), and their pal Mercutio (Christian Cooke) sneak into a Capulet party. It's there that Romeo and Juliet see each, instantly fall head over heels in love, and get married by Friar Lawrence (Paul Giamatti). Juliet's spiteful cousin, Tybalt (Ed Westwick), LOATHES the Montagues and through a violent event Romeo and Juliet's forbidden love is tested. Then there's the movie's ending, which I think even non-Romeo and Juliet readers know about.
The dialogue is mostly the same in this version, though Fellowes tweaks some of it to make it sound more modern. For example, instead of Juliet saying "Thy lips are warm" she says "Your mouth is warm". Why does he do this? No idea. Does he really think "Your mouth is warm" is better sounding/more beautiful than "THY LIPS are warm"? Perhaps he does so for young readers of the world so they can better understand it, like a cheat-sheet (though I think they'd already understand the meaning of "Thy lips are warm"). Mostly everybody is well-cast here, and I LOVE that the lovers look and feel like real teenagers the way they're supposed to in the play. A few people laughed at Giamatti's performance, but I think the actor can do anything. Steinfeld is smiley and beautiful as the long-haired Juliet while Manville is PERFECTLY CAST as Nurse, the comic relief of the story. Booth, a handsome 21 year old, is certainly dashing enough to play Romeo (the first time we see him he's sculpting a statue with his whole shirt open), but he's slightly miscast. At times his appearance is wooden, and worst of all, he lacks the vivaciousness of the character. DiCaprio and Leonard Whiting (from Franco Zeffirelli's 1968 version) showed the excitement of falling in love for the first time. They jump and run around like they're unable to hold their excitement. Yet Booth just stands there...
The tone of this version feels out of place as well. In Luhrmann's version, the movie starts off as a happy love story and ends with an utterly depressing vibe. It should be like this, of course, because Romeo and Juliet is a comedy AND a tragedy! Carlei's version doesn't seem to get happy or sad. The score of the movie is the same throughout which makes the experience of the play less powerful. Despite its flaws I still enjoyed this movie, and if you're one of the millions who love Romeo and Juliet I'm certain you'll enjoy this too. It's completely harmless and respectful to Shakespeare's masterpiece, but it lacks the power of the 1996 version. Do yourself a favor and watch that instead. It's VERY different, but manages to capture the passion and heartbreak of the play.

Intern and the Cupcake Courage… A Drama-dy
“You sure you have the right Jen?” I double check three times before the shock dissipates and the news sinks in... It’s Relativity Media on the line… can you hear me?! RELATIVITY MEDIA… And they offer me their first ever social media intern position!!! I have a slight obsession with social media, and may or may not, be on all possible social media platforms at any given moment. I am an aspiring producer, and it’s essential for me to utilize social media for networking.
So on March 28th, I make the journey to Relativity’s Beverly Hills office! En route, I stop at a nearby cupcakery and stuff myself with “sugar courage” before entering Relativity’s reception lobby. There, I wait eagerly next to the giant “Free Birds” movie statue for my boss and Chief of Staff, Tina Mirfarsi, to escort me through the office. Some minor paperwork and a short time later, Tina introduces me to several executives, assistants, and key staff members from all of Relativity’s departments. Then, I receive a personal computer, iPhone, and desk, and begin my four month adventure.
My initial plan: Meet and greet assistants, executives, etc., obtain behind the scenes photos, and decorate my drab desk. I realize that everyone in the office is passionately engaged in his or her work, and it would be inappropriate and unprofessional for me to intervene. So Phase One of Plan A: observe the passersby, and become a recognizable face within their eyes! Once my face is known around the office and the staff develops a trust in me, I hope to segway into Phase Two of Plan A: interview key members in each department and share exclusive content with you, Relativity Media’s online followers. In the meantime, I’ll casually stroll around the office, gather as much relevant information as I can find, and maybe bust my camera out to take some pics and videos.
So… Any advice for a producer who wants to get noticed around a production office?
Until next time,
#JenTheIntern

💀 Wertung: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (8/10) Sehr Gut ☠️ #TobisFilmwelt | #TobiView | #Blockbuster | #DeathRace | #Frankenstein | #JasonStatham | #UniversalPictures | #RelativityMedia | #CruiseWagnerProductions | #UnitedInternationalPictures | #UIP | #Filmstagram | #Filme | #Kino | #News | #NurmeineMeinung | #Movie | #MovieReview | #Review | #Filmkritik | #Kritik | #Cinema | #Moviegram | #Filmblog | #Movieblog | #Germanblogger | #Filmblogger https://www.instagram.com/p/CEO73tnFnr7/?igshid=kd8cy89bytv4

Don Jon

1 hour 30 minutes
Rated R (Strong Graphic Sexual Material and Dialogue Throughout, Nudity, Language and Some Drug Use)
Directed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore, Rob Brown, Glenne Headly, Brie Larson, and Tony Danza
3.5 out of 4 stars
IN THEATERS NOW.
It's not a crime to like porn. You're simply watching people you don't know give each other pleasure. What's the big deal? If you like porn more than the person you're dating then, well, that's a little weird. Porn is a silly way for single people to pleasure themselves. If you're dating someone, you should obviously change some of your priorities. This is the case with Jon Martello, Jr. (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). He's a buff, handsome, tan-looking Guido (a modern day "Don Juan") who works at a bar, loves cleaning his apartment, goes to church every week, has a lot of sex, and masturbates to porn WAY WAY WAY TOO OFTEN. He meets a gorgeous woman and tries to commit to the relationship, but he still can't stop his addiction. Gordon-Levitt, in his first written/directional debut, has crafted a fun, sexy, outrageous comedy about a tool who can't help but objectify the world around him. We like this guy, even though he's a bit of an idiot. Gordon-Levitt hasn't just given an enjoyable performance but has written a very funny script and incorporated some impressive cinematography, making him a new potential filmmaker to look out for in the future.
Jon spends his nights hanging out with his buddies (Rob Brown and Jeremy Luke) and is always taking home more girls than they do. He likes sex, but porn is better. In fact Jon watches so much porn that there are semen stains on every one of his jeans. In a humorous voiceover he explains why it's better. 1) you don't have to ejaculate in a condom. 2) the oral sex is longer. 3) there's more excitement because in porn the people are groping each other more/moaning louder. One night at a bar he meets a stunning woman named Barbara (Scarlett Johansson) and she's so independent she doesn't even fall for Jon's attempt to get her into bed for the night. The next day he finds her on Facebook and asks her out for lunch. For the first time ever, Jon could actually be falling in love. Barbara, too, has an addiction: romantic comedies (which is at least a better addiction than porn). She dreams of living happily ever after with a rich man who will take care of her every day.
The two start a relationship and Barbara soon meets his rowdy parents (Tony Danza and Glenne Headly) and quiet sister (Brie Larson) who barely looks up from her cellphone. Jon says he's in love with Barbara but still can't live without his porn, which he tries to give up when his girlfriend walks in on him one night (he lies and says that he was just watching something his friend sent him). Jon's outlook on the difference between love and porn begins to change when he meets another woman in his night class, Esther (Julianne Moore). She's a strange lady, smiling when she finds out about her classmate's addiction and then crying outside the class the next. When Jon tells her that he likes pornographic sex more she corrects him by saying "but they're not actually having sex." He gives her a "what are you talking about?" look. He doesn't realize that porn is all an act. Real sex is about the passion two people see in one another while they're doing it.
Basically, Don Jon is a story about a guy needing to grow up. It ends a little too quickly, and there's a secret about Esther that is revealed too abruptly and then dropped. Yet I (and the audience I saw it with) enjoyed every moment of it. The dialogue is funny, particularly from Danza who pretty much plays an older version of Jon. Gordon-Levitt can pull off the cute "boy-next-door" guy but is actually convincing as a womanizer. Johansson oozes sexuality in every way possible, from her stunning curves to her sexy New Jersey accent. Moore is quirky as the chatty classmate looking for someone to talk to. The filming techniques Gordon-Levitt uses are surprisingly clever and something you wouldn't expect from a directional debut. Moments are filmed in a way to interpret Jon and Barbara's desires. Whenever Jon makes eye contact with a hot woman at bar, sleazy pop music starts to play. Yet when him and Barbara kiss for the first time in a movie theater the camera spins around them to the sound of cheesy, rom-com music.
This is a unique little movie with real characters that anyone could expect to meet in their day-to-day lives.

When You Wish Upon A Star
I’m not a particularly spontaneous person when it comes to making enormous life decisions, but when I came across the application for Relativity Media’s Fall Internship towards the end of my two-week visit to LA, my natural tendency to over-think everything fell by the wayside. Virtually every word on the position description popped out at me – “directly interacting with all of the company’s divisions and departments...working with a team of social media experts to generate new and engaging ideas for integration across all social platforms...strong interest in writing and storytelling,” and the list goes on. I literally jumped at the chance to apply when I ran to my laptop and started pouring out my eagerness to get a behind-the-scenes look at a production company in my cover letter. Just by glancing over the components of the application, I could tell that this was not your average internship. The instructions required me to come up with mock-up Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram posts for three of Relativity’s upcoming films and submit them along with my resume, cover letter, and brief video explaining why I thought I should be Relativity’s new intern. The chance to express myself creatively through writing and work with some of the best in the business, all the while engaging with people from all over the world via the wonders of social media? That’s my dream job.
I may be a Jersey Girl at heart...
Despite my enthusiasm for the position, I was aware of how competitive it would be to land an opportunity as rare as the one that Relativity was offering. A few days after I had applied, I was checking my voicemail and heard a friendly-sounding woman say, “Hi Allie, this is Tina Mirfarsi from Relativity Media. I just wanted to run something by you really quickly. Whenever you get this, just shoot me an email and we can figure out a time to chat tomorrow morning!” Once I heard those words, I went back into hyper-anticipation mode and imagined possible outcomes of my future conversation with Tina. If I ended up getting the job, where would I live? When would I see my family and friends, most of whom live on the East Coast? Equally, if not more, troubling in my eyes: How would I fare in the LA traffic scene? My mind ricocheted from one thought to another as I sat in the car on the ride home and looked up at a sky lit up by planes traveling to and from exciting places – but I only had one place on my mind. At one point, I happened to see a shooting star, took a page from Walt Disney’s book, and wished that I could go to that place.
Even though my mind was racing, I somehow managed to get some sleep before trying to go about my day as if it were normal (but in reality anxiously awaiting Tina’s phone call). But even after all of that mental preparation that I put myself through, I couldn’t have planned for what happened next. I was expecting another phone interview, another chance to make my case and convey my passion for everything entertainment. So when a pleasant exchange of greetings quickly shifted into Tina saying that Relativity Media would like to extend me an offer to be the company’s next intern, all I could do was bounce up and down in excitement and say, “Thank you!” Tina just laughed and said, “Does this mean you accept?”
After taking a few minutes to celebrate this new development with a mini-dance party in my room, it was finally time to think about logistics, as I had been home for less than ten hours yet was scheduled to start work on the other side of the country in nine days – in a city that practically requires you to own a car. In a daze, I walked downstairs, saw my unsuspecting mother reading on the couch, and blurted out, “Well, I guess I’m moving to California.” I hate being cheesy, but Jiminy Cricket may have been on to something, because wishing upon a star really did work.
...but California, here we come!

💇🏻♂️ Wertung: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (8/10) Sehr Gut 🕺🏻 #TobisFilmwelt | #TobiView | #LegDichNichtMitZohanAn | #YouDontMessWithTheZohan | #Zohan | #FizzyBubblech | #FizzyBubbele | #ColumbiaPictures | #RelativityMedia | #HappyMadison | #HappyMadisonProductions | #FourtyFourStudios | #Filmstagram | #Filme | #Kino | #News | #NurmeineMeinung | #Movie | #Cinema | #Moviegram | #Filmblog | #Movieblog | #Germanblogger | #Filmblogger https://www.instagram.com/p/CDtHMrclRGj/?igshid=12qecgz1210ua
