How to Install XRDP on Debian 12

Being able to remotely connect to any of the machines and do what I need to on one of them is pretty helpful when it comes to monitoring or finding bugs in the system. Microsoft provides a remote desktop protocol that is part of the native Windows operating system. But currently, it is also possible to use XRDP to access different operating systems other than Windows (such as Debian) remotely. XRDP is a free and open-source remote desktop protocol software that allows connection to a remote computer.🌎

Since I work at a power station now, new headcanon that the Bats use Gothams Power station as a makeshift jungle gym.

Dicks climbing around without a grapple scaring the fuck outa Bruce when he flips himself off the top turbine hall and barely catching himself on one of the railings.

Tim, Staph and Cass are playing a complicated game of hide and seek/ tag. Trying to minimise the use of their grapples to not destroy the place. Cass is winning by a margin. She’s now just trying to scare the shit outa both of them.

Damian is checking all the nests scattered around the site. Scattering feed and fixing nests that have been destroyed. (Much to the dismay of every operator who just wants them gone. Unfortunately for them, the last engineer who kicked a nest had both his legs broken shortly afterwards. Everybody knew who did it. Nobody wants to talk about it).

Both Duke and Jason have graduated form understanding how the plant works and instead are arguing about how to make it better/fun things to do. Topics include: using leftover heat to heat homes in crime alley, including some sort of gas capture system, making shit hotter, and opening the turbine to “watch it spin nothing will happen B shut the fuck up”.

The Ring of Felagund/The Ring of Barahir

I confess that (despite mostly enjoying the films) I hold onto several longstanding and extremely petty beefs with Peter Jackson's LOTR trilogy. And, surprising no one, my pettiest and fiercest grudge is their design for the Ring of Barahir.

I think (besides the One Ring) it's the most clearly described piece of jewelry in the legendarium:

two serpents with emerald eyes, one upholding, one devouring a crown of golden flowers

And yet! When you look at the film's design, there is a) no crown of golden flowers, b) the serpents do not seem to be either upholding or devouring anything, but kind of just chilling there, and c) the serpents do not have emerald eyes, but rather a single, giant emerald that's plopped in the middle, presumably in place of the golden crown.

It's a lovely ring! But it's not the ring Finrod gave to Barahir.

Anyway, all that to say I finally caved and drew the one that has lived in my head for 24 years. Please clap.

one thing I absolutely love about the mentalist (among the many things or just about everything really) is how Jane's constantly smiling at people

you don't see him be usually grumpy and arrogant like most Sherlock based characters out there, he kinda exudes so much warmth despite all the things he's been through and I get it, his previous profession required that he emulate this fake friendliness and kindness just to seem more believable and thus make more money, but as we watch him (after he's left all of that behind him) his kindness seems genuine and beautiful to look at.

Just randomly remembered that I too am from a town where a lot of people got sick and died because they worked with a dangerous substance but had no knowledge of its dangers and so no safety measures but the rich people that were profiting off of their labor did know about it and didn't tell the workers because they didn't want to stop making money until it finally came to light when people started dropping dead or getting really sick and all of them worked in the factories and now there's a museum in honor of the victims and work safety seminars to elementary school children. Yeah!! Typically in canon, a mnemosurgery addiction is the mnemosurgeon's addiction to performing it, to the point it kills many (this was a big part of Chromedome's character and one of the things we knew early with him) because there's a bit of inherent risk with mnemosurgery (something about the process of linking minds together like that). The Fatal Injection is talked about a decent bit, and we very nearly see this happen to Chromedome when he's doing it with Dominus / The Pet in the end of MTMTE (this big whole thing)

But the idea of a character being addicted to receiving mnemosurgery??? Fascinating. Fascinating fascinating dynamics and scenes there. Especially considering mnemosurgery's history in idwg1, and it's connection with the autobots. Giving me ideas.
