Okay so I’m not going to lie, part of why I haven’t been drawing Mara a lot is for three reasons:

1. She had an entire plotline planned that I ended up scrapping and redoing but that meant putting her in the backseat for a bit.

2. Im honestly afraid of drawing her 20 fallen angel partners I feel like I go a little insane even thinking about it. 20 characters with unique designs and outfits? No, I’m exploding in real life.

3. I’ve been slowly regretting making her a succubus. She was originally an Imp but I didn’t have a base idea for the imp design yet so I just went with a succubus but I’ve been wanting to add more demon characters that weren’t just succubi and hellhounds.

Unfortunately the way people treated the redesigns (specifically Domino’s where I had people messaging me for WEEKS to change it back), makes me kind of unsure if I wanna do a full species swap lmfao. Mara is very cute and I love her OG design, I just don’t want her to be another succubus, so it’s frustrating.

Damn. Remember when this webcomic was a hobby for me.

So I was checking the dates in-between comic updates and when you uploaded them on your patreon and made an OOC post as a reminder? Notice?

So based on what I gathered so far.

When you have backlogs of parts, you upload one every two weeks, and your patreons get early access to all the backlogs a week before one part of those backlogs was even uploaded?

Hopefully my wording isn't confusing, i'm sick, like victorian boy felix from changeling au sick, but worse, so I couldn't formulate words well

the thing is, I would PREFER to upload about 50-70 frames per update, but since Tumblr now has a 30 image limit on posts, I have to cut my updates in half or into thirds. on Patreon, my patrons get the full update, all frames at once, while tumblr will get them usually in the form of two to three posts, because I have to split them up to upload them.

so Generally, patrons will get the Full Update all at once, while tumblr, a week later, will get Half the update.

Updates are every other week for the time being, if I manage to make enough of a backlog they'll be weekly again!

I’M MAKING A SUMMONING CIRCLE TO SUMMON THE STEEL BALL RUN ANIME INTO EXISTENCE!

That’s not all there is to it, though. In fact, I need YOUR help to make this magic as powerful as it can be. For the first time ever, I am asking for audience participation and collaboration for johnnyshrine, wow!!

How can you help me make the greatest summoning circle ever? By making your own offerings, of course! Prayer works best when people come together! I am collecting black and white images you guys submit to add to the summoning circle! These images can be whatever you’d like: drawings of your favorite SBR characters, memes, occult or silly objects you'd use for Steel Ball Run themed magic, words talking about how much the story means to you - you decide! Full info and requirements can be found on the Google form below if you’re interested in participating! Credit will be given to everyone who participates unless you choose to remain anonymous. The full summoning circle will be posted as johnnyshrine offering #101 on April 11th, the day before JOJO Day. Hopefully our efforts will pay off and we’ll get to see the anime become real!  I’ve never done something like this before and I have no idea what to expect, but I figure this is a fun way to connect the community. the whole "writers aren't grateful enough if they don't respond to every comment" is such bullshit that kept me from updating something for nearly a whole month. i had a chapter ready, but i had 50 comments to reply to and i just *did not* have the spoons for it.

i finally just posted it and put in the notes "thank you to everyone who's commented!!" and explained why i was tired but damn it sucks to have to defend yourself on something you do for free

I guarantee you the readers would rather have a new chapter instead of 50 replies from you to their comments. And that kind of group thanks is perfectly “grateful” in my mind.

Writers don’t need to be over the top grateful. Their (optional) job is to post the chapter! You don’t thank someone for a gift and stand there tapping your foot until they thank you back for thanking them.

There’s this trend I’ve seen in fandom recently where we equalize the roles readers and creators play in a feedback exchange. I understand why it happens, but I wish we could back out a little sometimes. Reading a fic and commenting is and will always be 99% easier than writing it yourself. The bulk of the work and time spent is on the author! That relationship is inherently lopsided. and that’s okay.

It's a terrifyingly underpriced lightly used Baby Lock and thankfully the other buyer flaked. I't's not multi-thread color but it can do multiple projects at once and I'm. ecstatic I'll be getting it!
