》》 APPLICATION POST!! APPLICATION BELOW!! DEADLINE IS IN 2 WEEKS!! 18TH JUNE!!
》 Welcome to the Tales of Stonks! A block tales story that includes canon characters and your ocs! Follow the group on the magical journey to make stonks.
It all started with a white van.
Well, it was technically white… if you squinted through a filter of nostalgia, forgiveness, and heavy denial. In reality, the van was about as white as a forgotten banana peel left in the sun.
Rusted, dented, possibly haunted—and absolutely, one hundred percent, stolen. Yet, miraculously, still driving. Probably out of sheer spite. It cruised through serene landscapes of green meadows and baby-blue skies, looking like a misplaced background extra in a travel brochure. Inside, chaos brewed.
“I swear, this is just a giant clown car,” groaned Griefer, the group’s resident sarcasm expert, as he kicked Cruel King's seat for the fifth time that hour.
“If so,” Cruel King sighed, rubbing his temples, “then it must be the perfect size for you.”
Tension? Yes. Adventure? Also yes. A working air conditioning system? Absolutely not. But you could smell it, the electric, slightly moldy scent of ADVENTURE. And possibly expired road trip snacks.
Of course, we couldn’t afford to turn this into a movie. We had the budget, but Griefer 'accidentally' broke several priceless artifacts, a vending machine, and one guy’s dignity. But imagine this: a group of legendary heroes, crammed in a wheezing van, driving toward the camera in glorious slow motion, not for dramatic effect, but because there’s a speed limit. Behind them, a majestic spotlight shines! Except it’s just the sun and the van's rearview mirror taped at a weird angle.
The crew inside? I can't even find a word for it, each with a backstory weird enough to deserve its own musical number.
First, meet the leader: Chirians, the almighty travelling seller of trading items who once sold vacuum cleaners door-to-door but upgraded her hustle to selling miscellaneous 'treasures' she found lying around. Some might say it’s junk. She calls it 'vintage opportunity.' The van is basically a wheeled garage sale with questionable legal status. Somewhere in there is a mysterious box labeled 'Mem’s Notebooks.' Who’s Mem? No idea. But we don't judge.
One day, Chirians found a legendary sword, glowing with power, destiny, and potential plot relevance. She gazed upon it and heard the call of fate, divine whispers echoing from beyond.
“Sell the sword,” they said.
“Make stonks.”
Then there was Cruel King, a regal man with jawlines sharp enough to slice bread and a castle made entirely of fancy architecture and poor life decisions. Chirians crashed into his royal courtyard (literally) while trying to reverse park. Windows shattered. Royalty cried. But amidst the destruction, a business deal was born. Cruel King, desperate to fund castle repairs and maybe therapy, joined her on the sacred journey of sword-selling for profit.
There was also Griefer.
They found him in a rainforest. Why was he there? No one knows. Not even him. But when he spotted the giant stack of Bloxy Cola in the van, he leapt in like a caffeinated raccoon. The rest of the group didn’t even realize they’d accidentally kidnapped him until they were three hours and one game of 'I Spy' too far to turn around.
As for the rest of the crew?
Well, their entrances are being dramatically delayed for maximum storytelling impact. But rest assured, they’re weirder, wilder, and possibly allergic to common sense.
And so, our heroes ride into the unknown, armed with sarcasm, debt, snacks, and a suspiciously rattling sword in the trunk.
This is not just a journey.
This is not just a van.
This… is the Tales of the Stonks.

I am OBSESSED with Spider-Man Suguru …. YOUR MIND
he's such an ominous figure when he's got the mask on but turns into a nerdy grump when he takes it off. kinda wanna see him in thick-rimmed glasses and sweatpants, lazing around and recuperating from his latest mission. sleep deprived and a little weary, the languid motion of him tossing and turning in a creaky bed made up of duvets and pillows he's stacked strategically, covers pulled over the bird nest atop his head. doesn't want to think about detangling on his off day.
but you like the suit. always had. in another life, you see him crouched on a rooftop, silhouette highlighted by a neon sign, rain pelting against him. how menacing. suguru's got angst brooding within him. withholding the chance to move on, or rather he doesn't intend to. so what if he's become obsessive, talking to screens and dreaming about you. modeling his holographic companions after your figure, your face, your voice. spent forever getting it just right. coding a line or two or a hundred and changing the input repeatedly. the first draft appears before him then. not too nice, not too mean. perfection glowing before him with the same smile you wear, flittering over his shoulder, snuggled up to his cheek, fitting in the crook of his palm as you give him updates on everything. "they're having a sale at the supermarket," says virtual assistant you, and he actually does make a trip there. buying himself a nice box of stock for dinner before he realizes that it's the first time he's actually made himself a meal. a year late but still, it's better than takeout or vending machine natto.
although, he would still prefer a tangible, physical you that isn't made up of glitching pixels. to caress skin and flesh, kiss the very breath from you and feel it graze his own lips. puffing out gasping cries and guttural moans, exhaling his name in exaltation, he'll swallow them up.
he's had a bad day. you can tell because he's abandoned the hot meal and even hotter shower for this. storming towards you with heavy steps and his heavy breaths puffing through his mask. why should you fear spiderman. hero, and saviour of the world. that he's been teasing you, taunting you. so what if he's got your wrists tied up around a tangle of webs. only after he's pulled from you a scream and the third orgasm of that night do you wonder.
spandex serves its purpose when it's hugging muscled arms so strong, bending and straining tight as he cages in, looms above you, his weight steady you can't help but to surrender to how good the pressure feels. the tilt of his head is condescending, enough to show you he isn't impressed, "you made a mess," suguru doesn't even try to be sympathetic. merely stating it as if it was all your fault for squirting all over his oh-so-precious suit. you'd question him on the occasion at hand, he'd been the one who wanted you to come undone on his dick.
legs locked tight behind him, his cock slides in just that bit further, deeper. a surprised squeal slipping past your lips. "easy now," you used to tease whenever he's gotten too eager, too hungry. but you're at a loss for words when the roles are reversed here. especially when the sharp point of his fangs skim over a patch of skin he's come to know as one of your most sensitive spots. right where it won't hurt you too much, he determines where they should sink in and leave behind no more than two perfectly formed puncture wounds, no bruising, no blood. well, maybe just a little, the iron tang he laps at is addictive. is alive.

Fuck digital grocery labels. "We'll cut 20% of our paper waste". No, you're replacing an easily recycled renewable resource with electronic waste that almost certainly will not be recycled.
"We'll be able to do in minutes what might take employees a week to do". No, it only takes a week because you don't hire enough staff to keep your store functioning properly and they're always being dragged away by customers who can't find anyone to help them because you've eliminated the customer service desk and you've instituted policies where the stocker has to physically walk the customer to the item instead of just telling them.
"You'll be able to scan a QR code to find out if a product has gluten in it" It takes five seconds to go to google, do a voice search for "Heinz Ketchup Gluten" and get an answer using tech we already have.
"Coca-Cola did surge pricing on their vending machines in the 1990s and it failed so store owners won't do surge pricing" No, people just bought non-vending machine coca-cola because they had the ability to go elsewhere and they knew the price was inflated because it's easy to monitor one machine's prices. If every grocery store is practicing surge pricing, there's no alternative, and we'll lose touch of what a "normal" price is because while it's possible to keep a single cola machine's prices in mind, it's impossible to commit every item in the store to memory and know when you're being price gouged. It's price fatigue and the corporations know this. "Surge pricing will work in reverse, if a bunch of milk is about to go bad, stores will discount the milk" No, stores are going to get lazier about buying excess product because they know that if the gamble of buying excess product doesn't lead to more sales, they can offload bad food onto customers who are just trying to catch a break, and in turn those customers will have to make a return trip for full-priced non-expired milk. That's not reducing waste, that's creating waste.
Also, you KNOW these motherfuckers are gonna price products real low sometimes to encourage bulk buying and then five minutes later when 20 people have 60 units in their cart but have not reached the checkout stands yet, they'll jack up the price suddenly, and exhausted consumers will have to remain vigilant at checkout to spot the difference and then have to go through the humiliation of asking the cashier to put those items back.
Grocery shopping is exhausting. It's a constant fight to not give into deceitful packaging, nonsensical '4 jumbo rolls = 10 regular rolls" label math, psychological pressure to buy buy buy, constant vigilance for bargains, the uptempo music trying to put you in a manic purchasing state...... They really are just trying to push even normal people into such exhaustion that they will pay extra just to fucking escape.
Fuck everything about this.

a hug per dollar
hello! it's me, the platonic anon from before... may i request a non-romantic, changgu & gender-neutral reader, coffee/study date? and maybe you could work in a reassuring hug 🥺 thank you so much 💛
Yeo One (Changgu) x (gender neutral) Reader | Platonic fluff + comfort?! | 1.8k words
synopsis: overworking can sometimes be an easy, but terrible habit to fall into, but luckily, changgu is there to drag you out when you do.
a/n: lol i think i projected this to have 1.2k but it ended up with 1.8 but i am not complaining !!!! to my dear platonic anon, sorry this took so long ksdhfkdsj i hope you enjoy it !! i may or may not have done an uno reverse on stud.hui.o fanatic because now it is the reader who's overworking BAM 💛
=====
"Don't you think we've been here for long enough?"
Your hand stopped writing the flurry of notes and you looked at your friend, who peered back at you over his laptop. "Changgu, it's literally only been..."
You flipped your phone over to look at the time on its display and faltered when you realized just how late into the day it was. "I guess we have been here for a while."
"Which is exactly why I think we should—"
"But I'm not ready to leave yet!" You snapped back, immediately backing off when you realized how harsh your voice was.
"You didn't get much sleep last night, did you?" He pressed on and you buried your face back into the piles of work laid in front of you.
"We don't talk about that either."
He let you be and the two of you went back to working in silence for the next while until Changgu eventually got up from his seat. Your eyes followed him as he stretched and let out a sigh. "I'm gonna go to the bathroom."
"Okay." You replied, and returned to your work.
=====
Not long after, a juice box slid into your view and you looked up at Changgu who returned after his bathroom break that took much longer than a usual bathroom break would've taken. You quirked an eyebrow in his direction.
"You got juice from the bathroom?"
He laughed and you took note of the other juice box in his hand — the exact same flavour as yours. "Of course I did. They added vending machines in the bathroom recently, didn't you know that?"
You decided to play along. "Is that so? No, I didn't know that. But do enlighten me as to why you would ever trust a vending machine located in the bathroom."
He laughed at your small jest. "Nah, I just went on an adventure to grab us some fuel." He dropped back into his seat and let out a relieved hum as he stared at his laptop. "After finishing that stupid essay I think I deserved the treat."
"You know, if you're done working you can always head back first. I'm fine on my own."
He shook his head adamantly at your offer. "This is our study session, you know? It's a we thing," he emphasized that with a point to the table. "So I'm not leaving until you're also done."
You sent him a small smile in appreciation and returned to your textbook, taking a small sip from the juice box as you did. It was refreshing and in the back of your mind, you wondered how he knew this was your favourite flavour. You didn't recall ever telling him.
"Though I think you've done more than enough work for today."
You didn't miss the next thing he muttered quietly.
"Look, Changgu, I'll just finish this chapter and we can call it today, okay?" You desperately held up a finger to assist in your pleading.
"One chapter and one chapter only." He reluctantly gave in, deciding to get a head start on another assignment in the meanwhile. Once again, you settled back into a comfortable silence, listening to the distant voices of others in the library.
You ended up finishing that chapter quicker than you initially thought you would and it flared up a new flame of determination within you. You could cram in a few more chapters then, right? You'll get them done in no time, especially with the flow you had now.
Agreeing with yourself, you got started right away.
You're pretty sure Changgu noticed when you flipped the page again.
And again.
And again.
Surely he's noticed the way you're slouched over a bit more now, the way your eyes were drooping and your gaze became unfocused. The way you've hardly touched the bag of snacks since he opened it. But you kept on going. Your determination knew no limits and you kept on going despite all the rational part of you that screamed at you to stop.
...Now, where did you leave off before you started daydreaming?
Right, at the end of this paragraph. You returned to staring at the mundane words in the textbook. You swore you were almost finished with this page but you also told yourself that what felt like hours ago. No matter how many times you read the same sentence over and over again, the words never seemed to stick in your mind. Your hand couldn't figure out what to write and what to leave out. All of it seemed important and you cursed the way your next exam weighed so much and yet gave you such vague preparation instructions. If only you had started studying earlier... but wasn't one week enough? Maybe you just weren't fit for this? Probably, because —
Changgu placed his hand onto yours. He gently pulled the pen out of your grasp and gestured for you to look at him.
"Let's take a break, you have no say in it. Seeing you like this makes me exhausted, I can't take this anymore."
No matter how many times you've drilled into your mind that it was absolutely not okay to take a break, the moment you heard the words from someone else, your composure crumbled.
You let out a deep sigh and let your weight rest on the table. "Yeah let's."
Changgu helped you pack your work away after cleaning up his own and waited until you were fully ready. When you slid the chair back to its former home, he held out a hand for you to take and you happily took a place by his side.
"Are you going to take me on another adventure?" You playfully asked, already feeling a little better now that your work was tucked away.
He shrugged. "Honestly, I had no clue where I was going to take you 'cause I didn't think you'd actually stop studying. But sure! Let's make this an adventure."
Stepping outside, you realized how much nicer it was to have a change of scenery. It was already late afternoon, the sun shining brightly above, engulfing you in a pleasant kind of warmth.
You sighed inwardly, this would've been more relaxing if your mind would just stop drifting back to all the work you still to be done. Hadn't you done enough? You worked so hard for the past who-knows-how-many-hours and yet it only left you unsatisfied and even more stressed.
Maybe it just wasn't enough.
A gentle bop on your head brought you out of your thoughts and you stared at Changgu, his hand still raised from bonking your bad thoughts away.
"Stop thinking so much." He crossed his arms and looked at you pointedly.
"Huh?"
Squinting his eyes, his face leaned into yours, getting closer and closer, and you found yourself edging away from the intrusion. Just as quickly as it started, he suddenly disappeared, straightening his back again and letting out a huff.
"Just as I thought."
"What?" You asked again, still lost.
"You're thinking bad things about yourself again! Stop that."
"How did you know?"
He playfully punched your shoulder at that. "I'm your best friend, you think I wouldn't notice these things? You always have this expression on your face when you're beating yourself up. Looks kinda stupid."
Your mouth gaped at his remark. "Hey!'
"I'm kidding, you never look stupid," he smiled and continued. "But what is stupid is you thinking that you're not good enough because you can't keep up with everything that's going on. Can you really blame yourself if some uncontrollable force decided to dump an unreasonable amount of work on you all at once? You're doing your best, which is one, really paying off because I swear you've covered like a billion chapters today. And two, is extremely cool — I heard the group studying behind us gush about how hard you were working and guess what?"
"...What?" You asked hesitantly, still trying to recover from your friend's spiel.
Changgu grabbed your shoulders to keep your attention. "I also think you're really really cool!!" He announced loudly, capturing the attention of a mother and her daughter nearby. They walked away after the initial surprise.
Your lip trembled, not even having it within you to be embarrassed by his public confession. Instead, you were overwhelmed by his kindness. "Changgu..."
He pulled you into a hug and you basked in his presence. The faint smell of fresh laundry lingered on his hoodie and you melted into his comfort. "You're doing great, and you'd be doing even better if you let yourself breathe for a moment. As overwhelming as it may feel, the only thing that's going to bring you down is yourself if you keep on going at this rate — not your work." He gently scolded before he pulled away and cupped your face, eyes boring into yours.
"Got that?"
You nodded hesitantly. "Yes."
"I don't know... that wasn't really convincing..."
You laughed lightly and pushed his hands away from you. "I got it, I got it, Changu. Thank you so much." You found yourself much more relaxed after your talk. "From studying with me to buying me snacks and comforting me... aargh, I appreciate it."
Changgu simply gave you a bright smile. "Anything for you."
That was all he said, but those 3 words were enough to express just how much you meant to each other.
"Besides, I don't think of it as a chore, any time spent with you is great."
You pouted. "You're too good for me, seriously. How can I make it up to you?"
In all honesty, you expected him to dismiss the question, but instead, Changgu's eyes wandered off as he placed a finger on his chin. "Well, I did notice that my favourite drink is on sale when I passed by that cafe on the way here..."
You sent him an amused look. "The juice wasn't enough?"
"Are you telling me to pass on a sale that takes a whole dollar off?"
Once again, you found yourself playing along with his act and your eyes widened. "Oh geez, you're right, we can't miss out on that." Pushing Changgu from behind, you ushered him forward. "Let's get moving! We spent so much time in the library the shop's going to close by the time we get there."
Changgu chuckled as you caught up and fell into step with his movements. "I'm glad to see that you're back to normal."
"And I'm glad we get to save a buck on overpriced drinks. Thanks for everything, Changgu." You swiftly replied and he sent a smile your way.
"Anytime."

This is a pretty long post about questions and theories I have about Customer Service from Kirby, so I'm just giving you a warning about how long its gonna be.
So I've been rewatching the kirby anime solely for the purpose of seeing Customer Service because I love him and he makes my heart warm even though he's an evil bitch. But there's some things about him that make me question what his position at Holy Nightmare/Nightmare Enterprises actually is besides just being a simple salesman.
For being a salesman, he has a pretty high status at Nightmares base considering he works in the command center, and the fact that Nightmare is almost always lurking behind him and they discuss their evil plans together.
And we also see in the movie he has the power to send out the Destroya ships and tell the base to be ready for an attack because an enemy is coming. That's a pretty high rank if I say so myself. And there's also instances where, in the episode with the Power up D or Pump up D drink (whichever it is), his face is on the vending machine that's selling the drinks in the village.
That's made me think that being a salesman isn't his only job at the base. I feel, in a way, that he could be the "public face" the customers and buyers of Nightmare's company see's when they look into buying something from the company instead of seeing Nightmare's face, for reasons I don't know other than Nightmare not wanting to make a fool of himself by being on a tv screen and telling people to buy his stuff.
And both Nightmare and Customer Service look very similar in appearance. If Nightmare made him, which I assume he did because of how similar they look, maybe that's Nightmare's way of showing to his customers that even though they are seeing a salesman on a tv or poster, you're being reminded of who you're buying from because of the resemblance. But you're seeing a prettier, more welcoming face while doing it.
And it's also kind of weird to me how whenever King Dedede brings his screen out to talk to CS, he's ALWAYS there ready to talk. As if there isn't any other buyer looking forward to purchase something that he talks to, or if he has abosolutley nothing else to do. Maybe CS is designated to be Dedede's salesman? Maybe Nightmare knows that Kirby will make his way to Popstar and wants to keep a close eye on him, telling CS to manipulate Dedede into buying the demon beasts to fight Kirby hoping he will get killed so he doesn't have to worry about it (we all know that didn't work).
And this is probably one of the more questionable things about CS, but why hasn't he gotten fired yet? If theres the chance that Nightmare didn't designate CS for Dedede and it's totally random, there were plenty of moments in the show that would make you think he should've gotten fired over. For example, Knuckle Joe was able to trick CS into sending out their strongest demon beast Masher, by making him think that he wanted to join Nightmare's side, only to pull out an uno reverse card and kill Masher with Kirby. And then in the episode when everyone is sick in the japanese version, CS says that if he doesn't start selling their products more then he'll be fired and the company will go bankrupt, which sounds impossible considering they took over like 90% of the universe. They should have all the resources they need.
And don't get me started on how poor of a job CS does getting money from Dedede after he buys something. Even if he tells the king he can't purchase anything because of his overdue bills, he STILL for some reason is sending Dedede stuff. Like, huh? It doesn't make sense. He surely should've gotten fired for giving away Nightmare's products and not getting any money from it. And then he's worried about going bankrupt? Um, if I'm correct, it should be CS's fault they're going bankrupt because he's not getting any money from Dedede, but STILL SENDING HIM STUFF.
Maybe Nightmare likes him too much to let him go. If CS made a mistake and apologizes for it, or says he'll willfully clear out his desk and leave, Nightmare says don't worry about it and tells him to stay, that it's not a big deal. Nightmare probably has to much pride in the little devil he made and wants to keep him even if he messes up.
Nightmare probably sees him as a prize for scamming people and tricking them. And the fact Nightmare is always with him, even though his base is the size of a PLANET, which probably has so many other sales people in it, tells me that Nightmare likes him a lot more than the usual demon beast.
Ugh, my brain hurts from all this thinking. I get too attached to Kirby characters WAY to often and I question their entire existence whilst making up fake scenarios in my head about them.
Anyways, that's what I have to say about CS. He's to perfect to not talk about.
Also I wanna thank @operationhoshinokaabii for putting subtitles on those last 20 or 30 episodes of the japanese version on daily motion because I never knew what they were saying because no one had put subtitles on those before. Thank you!

Brooklyn Nine-Nine: The Takeback (7x08)
I love Doug Judy enough that I'd forgive this episode any myriad of sins. And it's definitely not sin-less.
Cons:
I'm glad that Holt is back to being the Captain, but I will freely admit my frustration that his demotion wasn't more of a plot point this season. It didn't lead to any meaningful character growth, and because Terry just took over for him, we didn't even get the excitement of a new character to shift the group dynamics. Also, given what a big deal it's supposed to be that Holt is finally back, why was this moment relegated to a subplot, where nobody but Terry and Rosa seemed to care?
The other subplot was honestly one they could have deleted entirely from the episode and I wouldn't care. Amy is in charge of picking out a new vending machine now that a broken outlet has been fixed. Predictably, Scully and Hitchcock have lots of opinions about this, and equally predictably, Boyle tries to go for some fancy weird one that only serves fish balls. In the end, the machine Scully and Hitchcock choose is installed, but it shorts out the lights because the voltage is too high, so everything returns to normal by the end of the episode. My prevailing emotion watching all of this was just kind of a general... shrug.
Okay, as I said, I love Doug Judy and so I really liked the main part of this episode. There is one dicey sort of thing going on here, though. Doug is no longer a criminal - he seems to have legitimately reformed. But his friends are still criminals, and they commit a crime in this episode. My issue is that this show is one where all of the main characters are cops, and the focus is on apprehending criminals. Sure, it's a comedy, and sure this is a show I trust to be socially aware in most respects, but it's always just a little uncomfortable to see them rub up against the realities of people in the world being scared/distrustful of the police. These guys are actual criminals, yes, but they're really just a bunch of straight-forward thieves lacking in any nuance whatsoever. I don't know that I have a coherent complaint here, it's just something I wanted to point out.
Pros:
The subplots each had their moments of humor, though. I did like Hitchcock and Scully's stilted, awkward sales pitch to Amy, who nevertheless had to pick them because the alternative was Charles and his fish balls. And Holt's reaction to his office being put back the way he left it, by minutely adjusting the angles of all of his belongings, was really great. Rosa basically comes along for the ride in this fight between Holt and Terry, and she skillfully jumps ship when Holt gets mad, then hops back on board to accept his praise in the end. I thought that was great, especially Terry getting more and more frustrated.
Something about a Doug Judy episode just ups the energy of the whole show for me. I think it's the way Jake gets so excited about everything. If you think about it, in the earlier days of this show Charles was always chasing Jake around for his approval. In the Judy/Peralta relationship, Jake is very much the Charles to Judy's Jake. That makes for a fun, high-energy dynamic!
Some of my favorite moments include Jake's angry tirade at the start when he realizes he's not invited to the wedding (and Rosa knowing this would upset him), and the conversation between Doug, Trudy, and Jake about who he looks like: Jason Mraz, Andy Garcia, Seth Green, or... Tom Green?! Go back to Jason Mraz! Trudy's obsession with butts was quite fun and the whole reverse heist made me smile. But then obviously, Jake is a cop and he takes his job seriously, so he ends up turning in Judy's friends.
However, it wouldn't be a Doug Judy episode without an additional twist! Turns out, Judy didn't want his criminal friends at his wedding, because his bride-to-be is a judge. Jake actually helped him out by getting his friends out of the way. And he wants Jake to be his best man! Their friendship is so delightful and silly and... wrong in a way that makes it so, so much fun to watch.
I think I'll leave it there! As I said at the start, Doug Judy makes for a good time, even in an episode with plenty of issues.
8/10

Shop colluded with vending machine to charge expensive prices.
In our campus there is a tuck shop which sells snacks for higher than usual prices. The owner has a contract with the institution so they don’t have any competition. Everyone knows they’re expensive, including the higher up people, but the higher ups are not the ones with caffeine and sugar cravings.
After some lobbying the institution tried to introduce competition by installing vending machines from another company in another part of the campus, but that building required an access key to enter meaning visitors couldn’t use it. But most people had access so it wasn’t a problem.
The problem came when the vending machine owner decided to charge the exact same prices as the tuck shop!
Here’s the revenge part.
A cohort lived near the vending machines and was able to monitor the arrival times of the refill guy.
Whenever he left we would put up a sign on the machine saying “machine eats your coins!” and removed the sign before he arrived each time.
As a result the company’s sales were low. After a while we arranged someone to “walk by” when they were checking the machine and told him that the tuck shop owner made an emotional plea that the vending machine was stealing her business and that she needed our support to survive. That’s why no one would buy from the vending machine, “especially when it charges the exact same prices.”
Not long after the vending machines prices dropped below the tuck shop prices. Now was time to do the reverse. We first made the vending machine more accessible to everyone by pushing it closer to the main entrance (and put a bunch of rubbish bins in its old place so that the vendor couldn’t move it back) and wedged open the door so that it was accessible by everyone and anyone who forgot to bring their access card.
Now there’s no way of knowing whether this would hurt the tuck shop sales, but we were hoping it would and only time will tell if the tuck shop drops their prices.
