You can search words, parts of words, definitions of words, words related to a concept, phrases containing words & so much more.

It will give you the definition & a big list of dictionaries to choose from if you want more detail or to find a description you understand better. It includes the urban dictionary & encyclopedias.

Guys I don't think the word I'm looking for exists. I just searched up "calmly pursuing" in reverse dictionary and the first result was "serenely pursuing" #6 was blood

Other words I got: Belle, AUT (Auckland University of Technology), cheese, artesian well, the Moroccan dog breed Aidi, lazy Susan, and honda

Not just writers. Now that I've reached my twilight years, my mental word lookup hardware is getting fairly rusty and creaky with age (particularly for the more obscure and archaic terms I've used all of my life). OneLook is a lifesaver.

E.g., was trying to remember the phrase "cautionary tale", typed "story with warning" into OneLook. 1st suggestion returned.

Now that I think about it, Matilda attracts not shoe wearers because Kanjira, Mercuria and Yenisei don't wear shoes (though Mercuria's are almost flipflops 😭).
