The worst thing about Robot taking Rex’s name is he did it out of good intentions. He cloned himself in Rex’s likeness because he wanted to look like the kind of guy Monster Girl would be attracted to and now he is throwing his original name and taking Rex’s name for himself to honor him. Both times he never asked for Rex’s permission to take his identity with Rex expressing his discomfort when he did find out about the clone. Rex previously confessed to Rae he had no secret identity - being a superhero was his entire identity and he died being a hero. Robot will grow up looking what Rex could have looked like if he got to be a fully grown adult, but he will betray and murder his allies and take over the world, so now no one will ever look at Rex’s appearance and name the same way ever again because Robot took his name and face and dragged it through the mud with his crimes.
