yes it is i with another recolour from the new pack. there has been a wee glimmer of sunshine on the uk the last week so of course i had to make a summer dress

this time i'm using some new patterns! Well, new to CC, anyway. These are all hand painted patterns by yours truly, done in watercolour, gouache and ink; 32 patterns from 6 different collections from my surface design portfolio >:) anyway i think they make for a really cute summer dress and i hope you like it too!

2025 Edgewave Stage Blender Scene

For another year, I've meticulously recreated @aniraklova's Edgewave lot in blender, and now I'm sharing it with you!

Same as last year, it is NOT a 1:1 recreation. But it is very much based on and inspired by the Edgewave lot!

I RUN MY RENDERS IN CYCLES - this was built for cycles and NOT tested with Eevee! (but feel free to adjust/run in Eevee!)

Only instruments from the original lot are included - feel free to design the stage as you see fit!

The stage screens are grey on install, but you can replace them with your band's images with the included files:

Replace those files with yours and then plug them into the texture nodes. If you need help with this please reach out!

Let's start with the best thing I saw all week: a 3D-printed, spring-loaded, clockwork chess pawn that uses a magnet to sense when it has reached the end of the board and SPROING! turns into a queen:

Regrettably, not every tech project is a good one. This week, Google abandoned its AI ethics pledge. Unlike most AI ethics pledge, which are full of nonsense about not accidentally creating a vengeful god that turns the human race into paperclips, Google's AI pledge was actually very important, in that the company promised not to make AI that violates human rights, international law, or privacy. There comes a point where harping on Google's abandoned "don't be evil" motto can feel a little hacky, but in this case, I'll make an exception. Not all bad technology is evil. Some of it is merely very, very stupid. How stupid? Check out Thom Dunn's Wirecutter review of The Heatbit Trio, a space-heater that uses Bitcoin-mining GPUs to generate some of its heat, very slightly offsetting the cost of warming your room – but at a rate that would take decades to recoup the $700 price-tag. Staying with crypto freaks for a moment here, Adam Levitin dissects the cryptocurrency "industry"'s latest chorus of aggrieved whining over "debanking":

As Levitin writes, banks aren't kicking cryptocurrency "companies" off their books because the government wants to punish them. My experience: I've played this world twice and you can really tell the creator poured their heart into every detail. However, there's a critical flaw: after 2 or 3 sims weeks, the game becomes so laggy and even freezes completely at times. Despite optimizing my game and fixing issues mentioned by above players, the problem persists. I suspect there may be hidden routing or lot-design issues that nobody's noticed yet. Regardless, the world is stunning and absolutely worth exploring if you're up for some patience :)

I'm finally back, bearing a small gift!

This summer, I spent a few weeks at a cabin near the Parc national du Mont-Tremblant. It was fun, but I wanted to decorate the cabin to make it cozier. Then came the idea of a Christmas cabin located in the Three Lakes.

Three Daniel/Louis headcanons please

Here are 3 Louis/Daniel headcanons just for you.

On Night Island, Daniel takes Louis to his favorite Miami gay bar (since they met in one in SF). There, Daniel tells him what happened when he left the room where the interviewed happened: how he packed his car and headed off to NOLA to find Lestat. Louis is mildly surprised to hear it (very much 'I don't know what I thought was going to happen' moment) and he asks Daniel why he did it. Daniel is like, “You told me where to find Lestat! You practically drew me a map.” And is Louis all: “Daniel, it had been well over forty years since I'd seen him, I had no reason to believe he’d still be there.”

I think both enjoy mysteries, so after Louis finishes a particularly good mystery novel, he’ll bring it to Daniel so he can read it and then they talk about them sometimes before meetings or while everyone is just hanging out, leading to a running Coven joke about them having a book club.

One time, as a little prank on Armand, Louis and Daniel switched clothes: Louis in one of Daniel’s vintage t-shirts, torn jeans, and purple chucks, Daniel in one of Louis’ soft cashmere sweaters, designer jeans, and polished leather shoes. Armand found it a little pointless (“I can buy you clothes like Louis’, beloved, I bought his.” “I don’t know why you want to dress in Daniel’s rags.”) Daniel stole the sweater because it was soft and comfortable, and Louis had no idea where it went. When he saw Daniel wearing it weeks later, he tackled him and yanked it off of him in a surprising act of aggression that Daniel found extremely hot.

About my new camera

Yes, I bought a new camera, but it was not a last minute decision. Well, the camera purchase was pretty much last minute after I saw a video about the camera I chose and did some research on the Web & Youtube.

For about a year I've been wondering if I should sell my Sony a7r3 body and Sony/Zeiss Sonnar T* 55mm f/1.8 lens, which came highly recommended, including by Ken Rockwell, who I also turned to for advice about my new camera. The 55mm f/1.8 lens was highly recommended; it was one of the original set of lenses for the Sony a7 line of mirrorless cameras.

I wondered about getting rid of it because, while I enjoyed using it and got some great photos with it, my 24-105mm f/4 Sony G lens also took great photos, and it covered the 55 mm range. Granted, the 55mm produced super creamy bokeh, but the 24-105 f/4 did too, though maybe not as creamy. Maybe for me, as a vegan, the 24-105mm f/4 bokeh was (is) creamy enough?

Anyway, here is one of my favorites, taken with the 24-105mm f/4 about 6 months after I bought the a7r3. (I've owned an a7r3 for over 6 years now...)

Back to the new camera story. About a year ago, I saw this video about "one camera/one lens."

I also watched a video where he discussed keeping camera gear down to a useful minimum "5 Reasons to Keep Your Equipment Simple feat. Documentary Photography Daniel Milnor." His insights resonated with me because I am not a gear head. I like having one lens on each camera body and not having to fidget. I like to keep it simple.

Then, about 3 weeks ago, I watched this video.

Now, I go make photos in SF often. Every once in a while I also go to Oakland, which has, at least in the 30 years I've been in living in California, a super bad reputation. I've never felt unsafe in either city walking around with my a7r3 with the medium sized 24-105mm f/4 lens on it. Granted, I carry it in the original, small, Peak Design sling bag, which I immediately christened my Audrey Hepburn camera bag because it is so elegant, especially with the little brown leather handle on top.

BTW, I also own the Peak Design messenger bag, but I almost always use this one for my camera and use the messenger bag for when I need to carry my laptop. The 5L sling bag had a bonus: Both my a7r3s with their respective lenses attached fit in this one little bag. Tight, but they fit.

Anyway, that video about feeling safe did set me to thinking, since I am getting older and walk around alone, but it also made go back to wondering if I should carry both cameras, which I rarely do anymore.

Then Adrian Vila posted this video.

And then I found his original video, about 4 years old, about the RX100 vii.

the idea of carrying a smaller camera with a 24-200 zoom intrigued me, I did some research, including visiting Ken Rockwell's site, where he highly recommended this camera (see the review here).

I was convinced, but I knew that the camera is 5 years old (and Sony has no plans of releasing a newer model), so I looked up prices for used, and if I could find them, new cameras. I eventually just opted to get a new one and am going to sell my a7r3 with the 55mm f/1.8 lens. Interesting fact: The Sony RX100 line (7 models) all have a Zeiss Sonnar T* zoom lens. Mine has a 24-200mm f/2.8-4.5 variable lens, so I am still going to have a Zeiss lens, even after I sell my 55mm Zeiss.

Then there was the coincidence that they actually had an RX100 vii in stock at the Sacramento store. I visited the Mike's Camera Website, choosing specifically the Sacramento location (they have several locations in California and Colorado) and saw they had one for sale, so I drove last there Wednesday to buy the camera.

Funny thing is, I learned they don't usually carry the RX100 vii anymore (it is, after all, discontinued) but they happened to get a delivery of one just that day from their warehouse. (I could have ordered it and it would be delivered to the store or to my apartment.) The sales person (Colton) went to check if it was ordered by someone, but no, so the camera was mine.

I explained to Colton how when I went in to buy my first a7r3 on 12-26-17, they did have it, but I wanted the 24-105mm lens, which was just released (and in popular demand) and was told they only had one, which someone pre-ordered. However, the salesperson (Taek) checked and it turned out that person had not gone in to pick up the lens or contacted them about it, and it was sitting in the store for 6 weeks, so Taek opted to let me have it. As Colton said, I have good camera Karma.

So, yes, I am going to be using a smaller camera with a smaller sensor (1 inch) that has only 20 MP as opposed to my a7r3's 42 MP in a larger full frame sensor. However, while thinking the new camera purchase over, I thought about the awesome photos I got from my Nikon D50 with its dinky 28-80mm f/2.5-5.6 lens, and the RX100 is a huge step up.

On 2 March he's at the Hyrox races in Glasgow, some fan pics were posted. He was registered and results showed up on the website, but it's unclear if he competed himself or someone else in his slot as he never posted any pics

In the weeks after he stays in Scotland a fan pic was taken on March 6th in Doune

Same day he posted some stories from Loch Lubnaig, recording a promo for MoM and getting interviewed by Charlotte Reather at his home for The Field magazine.

On 17 March he posts a story showing the St. Patrick Parade in London. A day later Paul Telfer posts a pic saying he met Sam in London over the weekend. Another fan pic taken on 20 March shows he's still in London.

On 21 March Starz finally get the word out OL S7b will be released in November, fans are not happy. Most likely they recorded the same day a promo showing S8 production started Monday 25 March,

while we already saw he was back home on Friday 22 March by a story, and a post on 24 March, the last one recorded over the weekend

More fan service posted on 1 April by Starz and confirmation of a 4 day break over Easter, back to work on Tuesday 2 April

On 13 April he's at Landcon 6 in Paris where he tells they've been filming S8 for 3 weeks now. Lots of videos and pics are shared as well as a live blog (also see my archive)

The next day he's registered for Hyrox Cologne but doesn't turn up, instead he's spotted by 2 fans in Paris. He flies back the evening of 14 April to Edinburgh

On 21 April he's spotted in Edinburgh by 2 fans, he apparently is there to treat his OL team on a lunch at Tony Singh's Supperclub in Edinburgh. In the evening he's spotted again

The next day on Monday evening 22 April he visits Midhope Castle with AN, where he's gifted some socks, but everyone is more curious what he's holding in his hands as it looks like a map or documents!

On 25 April he's in Edinburgh getting interviewed, two youtube videos are posted on 24 May

The weekend of 27 & 28 April is the MPC Gala weekend, lots of videos and pics are posted from the workout session on Saturday evening and the Peaker Games at Murray Filed on Sunday and the closing Gala. (see my archive for more footage)

On 30 April, his birthday he gets his birthday cake at the read through of Block 2 S8.

On 4 May he posts a couple of selfies showing he's in London. The same day a fan spots him in Kensington having lunch with SHer. He went to see her race at the Hyrox event in the same area, he didn't compete himself despite being registered (again)

It's unclear if he has been on set the week after, there are some doubts. Though he seems to be (back) home on 14 May when he posts a story from a magazine which shows his kitchen counter on the background.

The next day 15 May, he's clearly back on set showing his trailer which seems to be decorated during his absence by a costume designer (he tags). It's food for jokes during the next days and week.

On 24 May he posted a video announcing from the decorated trailer he'll be at Top Shelf in SF on October 5&6.

On 29 May an article is published by JJ of him holding hands on Dean street in London with a 'mystery woman', which caused quite some stir, he even adjusts the settings on his IG for some days

On 30 May he drives Dries Vos around Glasgow on his motorbike as if nothing happened.

On 1 June (OL Day) a teaser for S7b is released and a final date is announced (22 November)

On 2 June he posts a video and pics from a Kayak trip he apparently had the day before with some of crew members

On 5 June he posted a video joking about Taylor Swift who's going to give some concerts during the next weekend in Edinburgh which most of the cast will attend per his saying

On 7 June he apparently attended a concert of James at the OvoHydro in Glasgow. Most likely with a crew member as that person posted about it as well

On 8 June the main cast of OL and Maril and publisher Louisa attended the Eras Tour Concert from Taylor Swift in Edinburgh. Many posted their videos and pictures (more in archive)

The weekend of 15 June he stayed at the Avochie Estate where he spent an afternoon fly-fishing on the River Deveron

On 21 June he posted a story showing the new Mudlarking book from his kitchen counter

Armand is not in Lestat's coffin. (Sorry I’ve been obsessing over the coffin layout for months and stared at the new photos for way longer than I should)

The coven coffins have a higher (idk the right term) lid. In the set design pdf and in some scenes you can see a coffin in this style in Lestat's spot, but on the flashback Armand's coffin has a flat lid that matches the one on the office photo. Also he rearranged the coffins in his narration with Gustave switching to Santiago's spot, Eglee to Celeste's (I think implying Celeste was now in the office with Santiago) and Armand in Gustave’s spot besides Claudia’s where the diaries and dress were left. He even added the books from his office to the dressing table.

There is definitely another layer of him playing victim and being kicked out of his office with all his stuff and put right beside the Claudia mock shrine. But it doesn’t include taking Lestat’s coffin despite that being something he would do.

And I always assumed it was a combination of Lestat and Armand saving Louis with Armand's blood being used probably because Lestat was too week for his to be useful. At that point all Louis knew was that Armand at the very least allowed the coven to take them but he still didn't go for Armand first during the fire. So there must have been something big for Louis to spare Armand while out of his mind with vengeance

Okay, you definitely analyzed that on a level I adore :) Thank you for the correction (but he so would (even if he didn't) :))

As per the blood... I don't think Lestat's blood would have been weaker, even if he had been weaker... I mean, by going to earth they don't drink either, get weaker and weaker... and then it distills, and they come out even stronger. Which is to say that while I get where you're coming from I do think Lestat's blood would have been strong enough... but I just cannot see him then leave Louis there voluntarily. Just... no.

And yes, your argument makes sense - what, in the scenario we saw, made Louis decide to spare Armand. That being the rescue is the only reason that makes sense... at least right now.

The thing is, I think Louis knew the truth until SF. The brainwashing did not start till after SF, Louis knew what he had done before, and he spiraled, and regularly because of it. So whatever it was... must have been a bit different still to what we saw, otherwise he would have been more settled with it. And not told Daniel he deserved to die for the "terrible thing he did once".

Because I do not see him mean the burning of the theater there.

7 - all of a sudden this is getting a lot harder so I'll just say probably any of these guys could actually be tied for these spots. But for here I'll mafiatale Papyrus! He’s so funny and when characterized well is basically just UT Papyrus and really who can beat that

8 - this is so dumb to say but I'm actually gunna put Inverted Fate Papyrus even though I've never read it. Everything I've seen about him has made me very happy so I suspect I'd adore him

9 - Crimson, from my My Mother's Eyes fic/au. He makes me so unwell I love him so dearly </3

10 - Ghost (my fellswap papyrus), I struggle off n on w/ FS and SF Papyri but I really like Ghost, he’s so funny and mean. Biting him and shaking him.

However if I were to not include my own guys, I'll throw in uhhh horrortale Papyrus, swapfell Red Papyrus (depending on characterization), outerswap Papyrus, and uhhh damn alright mafiafell Papyrus (no one tell him he’s annoying enough as it is) <- in no particular order compared to who they're replacing in the list, mix n match yayy 🎉

Super Frisk (Young)

Also known as Frisk Dreemurr

Age: 20

Description: A young SuperFrisk, newly trained from her time with Toriel, is now in town. Learning to manage the daily life of Monster Ambassador and Superheroine!

Powers: Super Speed, Super Strength, Flight, Invulnerability, Heat Vision, Ice Breath, X-ray Vision.

Solar Overload: When overloaded with yellow sunlight or releases all the energy stored inside, it releases its most powerful state and attack!

Supernova Frisk: Releasing all her power, turning her into a solar superpower, with her body looking like the surface of the sun. His powers are almost close to those of a god in this state with all his abilities at their maximum, without restrictions. However, this form will only last as long as your energy, once you run out of energy or release the form, you will be helpless for a few hours depending on how much you pressed it while using it. If you have overcharged on the form and only use excess energy to use this form, you will still have your powers, but it will have slight effects on the powers.

Solar Flare: His most powerful attack was intended solely for desperate final measures: gathering all of his body's energy and releasing it in a massive burst of external energy or concentrating it with his heat vision. Once used, it will lose its powers for 24 hours and will be out of service for a while, so caution is necessary when moving.

Weaknesses:

Green Kryptonite: Bright green rock that originates from underground, has the ability to drain SF of its powers, can also be potentially fatal, there are other types of kryptonite.

Red Sun: A Yellow Sun gives Frisk her Powers, but a red sun drains her powers, leaving her powerless, it is not deadly or painful like kryptonite but it will leave her weak, however it is easier to recover.

Magic: She is invulnerable to most attacks, but magic can affect her, not like the average person, but it does affect her.

Costume: Handmade, bikini bottom with cropped top half, with red boots and cape. Modified by Sans to be more authentic, based on the original design.

SuperFrisk (Modern)

Age: 25

Biography: After the SFA Commander kills her, she wakes up under this incredible pressure, trapped. She is too weak and can't escape, she's not strong enough… but then she discovers that after not giving up, she finds this fire inside her that she turns to to finally escape, as if it were coming out of a shell… and from it came a new SuperFrisk…A better SuperFrisk. She was faster, stronger, more experienced, she was something more…It seems that this Blue Sun had made her something special after all…

Powers:

All Powers Enhanced: The Blue Sun has unlocked a higher level of power within her and made her the strongest she has ever been. She has all her previous abilities, but they have multiplied and improved to crazy levels, far beyond what she was before, she still doesn't know how far she can go, but it is the closest she has come to divine power levels but she is controlled so as not to let his new power go too far.

Supernova Frisk (Blue Flame): SuperFrisk's yellow solar form was now blue flames that were released. It is now a god level form. Your time in it has improved and you have more control over it and you can detransform and avoid the penalty of its use, but the downside is that the price of going too far is that you will be powerless, but now even longer than before.

Solar Flare (Blue): Now a blue sun, the force of the final movement is even MORE powerful, it could destroy planets. even universes if the right conditions are met. but now its use can reach 48 hours, even a week. It is much more powerful and you will have a better chance of using it depending on how strong the explosion or heat vision is.

Weaknesses:

They are all more effective against her: while all of her powers are even stronger, that also means that her weaknesses are even more effective and dangerous for her, while before she could still work a little with kryptonite, now it can completely incapacitate her. The distance that previously only bothered her can now leave her on her knees. She should be more cautious with all this. Kryptonite, Red Sun, Magic.

Costume: New with belt and shorts, can access items hidden in the belt, has a more modern blouse and cape.

Fischl Ein Immer­nachts­traum Set for The Sims 4! I got It released today and I'm so happy!! This Is one of the best skins In Genshin so I took my time working on this <3 (In reality I was being lazy and sleeping the whole week) Next up will be the Herrscher of Origin set! Well hopefully the full set since It's a pretty complicated design and I'm not 100% sure If I can do It </3 I'll try my best tho!!

(Also Niwa and Kabukimono sets are still happening I'll just have to make my Kabukimono again cause I lost the file and haven't been able to find It anywhere and I'm so upset about It </3)
