i am desperate to know: is fox's office is the senate or in the coruscant guard hq??? i've seen it both ways in fics and now that i'm writing my own fic i have to choose for myself where his office is and i don't know which to pick

Ok ok, so here's my thought process.

Personally I typically go for Fox's office being in the Coruscant Guard HQ. Reasons being: it would be easier to secure his space, whether this be from devices planted in his space, or unwanted visitors as he would have plenty of corries able to warn him ahead of time of anyone wishing to parlay with him. On top of this, I know many people enjoy the notion that Fox keeps little personalized things in his office, so it would likely be easier to hide non-regulation personal items in an office on his own home base.

However, I also understand people putting it in the Senate. It'd be easier for him to be monitored, and if he were paged for an issue he would already be on the premises, so it'd be easy for him to jump into action. This would be beneficial for the Senators, but I guess a negative quality may be it may make parlaying with his fellow Commanders a bit more difficult if they have multiple offices in different buildings.

I think, though, realistically, he'd have 2 offices. 1 at Corrie HQ and 1 at the Rotunda. Many people have an "at home office" so to speak and then a work office. I think if he had 2 offices, 1 to keep up work assigned appearances and 1 for personal use that'd make a lot of sense. Plus with how much work he does, it would follow the thought that Fox often "brings his work home with him." Hell, his office at Corrie HQ may not even be exclusively his own but a shared space for him and the other Commanders so information and data is shared easily and is always accessible to all four members.

Sorry if this doesn't help you pin down an idea lmao. This is just my thinking justifying different routes to take for it.

report on findings using alternative blog (samble2):

i tried this on a side blog i had around on a previous email (deadname jumpscare) under the url samble2 (using it as a backup now, if this blog is ever nerfed, look there!). while logged into that account, i was able to block myself (block samble button turned into block samble2).

doing so made my own posts vanish for a second (on the icon where you should be able to see your own profile), but they reappeared when refreshed. i couldn't see my url under the "blocked blogs" list, i presume since tumblr planned to avoid such a potential account bricking method, but i still don't know why it Only Works for this post specifically. you can rb it to your own blog, and when you click the "meatball" (three dot) menu, it should change to "block [your url]" instead. again, on my end, "blocking myself" did nothing, and i only had to refresh to fix the error. i have never seen the option to block your own url on any other post, but it's fitting that it only functions on a post where staff are being cringe.

Do you think Din ever gets called Dinui as a term of endearment? Did his buir call him Dinui before they died?

Alternatively, dinii means lunatic and dini'la means insane. I can totally see someone asking Din if he's crazy for being reckless or something and the menace just replies, "Actually, my name isn't short for anything. It's just Din."

Just. Din growing up as a Mandalorian with a name like that.

Has there ever been anyone dumb enough to bait you guys into a trap with a fake distress call? If so, how vicious was their beating?

This is a question I can't speak to from personal experience as I'm still in training, but looking at old mission reports, it has been attempted a few times. Suffice it to say that this is not actually a very effective tactic, and generally does not end well for the people trying it. There are a number of reasons why it doesn't work very well:

We receive and respond to a lot of distress calls, so we have a pretty good idea of what a real distress call looks like. We won't ignore a distress call just because it seems suspicious, but if we think it may be a trap or at least misleading, we'll prepare different deployments and tactics.

Albatross pilots (ships and chassis) are already trained to engage the moment we stop travelling at nearlight, so even if we were completely fooled, we still aren't caught off guard.

The nature of nearlight travel means that any ambushers have little to no warning of when we actually arrive, whereas we know exactly when we will arrive.

Personal headcanon that Espios' abrasive and dismissive attitude towards Knuckles comes from the Classic days where Knuckles was the leader of the Chaotix. It's not set in stone WHAT happened as I change it from time to time, but it always links back to that period.

It's funny, because Knuckles' Chaotix is just not on my radar at all, haha. The only thing I know about it is that the Espio of that time apparently liked camping, he had to occasionally be reminded of his manners by the much more polite Charmy, and Charmy was 16 or something? XD

Though, afaik the Modern Chaotix are reimagined from their Classic self and they aren't supposed to be the exact same characters. So I'm not sure if it can be argued they met Knuckles in the way they did in Chaotix, alas! But on the other hand, the idea of Espio's nerves just getting SO frayed by Knuckles' leadership that it evolved into a completely one-sided rivalry that's still going strong after like 4 years is definitely funny to me XD Makes you wonder about how things went in Forces with Knuckles becoming the Commander of the whole Resistance!

[1] What first impression do they typically make? Are they likeable from the get go, or take time to grow on people? People usually infer that Caddy is naive, maybe a bit of an air head. They think he's a sweet kid but are always really perplexed when they hear he was 327th and moved to Triple Zero, they always assume it's because he just couldn't make the cut. But people generally like him from the get go for sure.

Jabber's first impression is Loud. The second is cocky. Most folks who meet him get the vibe he's an egotistical fly boy - pilot - who's got his head up his own shebs about it cause he doesn't have to leg it on the ground like the rest of them do. Most people find him a bit too abrasive and maybe annoying since he can come across strong, other guys think he's just a fun jock type guy with a loud mouth and funny humor.

[2] How does their social personality differ from how they act when they’re alone?

Caddy I think puts on a ditzy front at times, definitely makes him seem a bit more disarming with certain folks. He's really honestly quite smart and adept, but he let's people fuss over him because it usually makes them feel better. When he's off on his own though or among people who know him better, he's usually more likely to take charge and be a bit more candid in comparison.

Jabber is actually way way more thoughtful than people think, but he also just kind of has an abrasive way of showing it. He's an instigator for sure, but he likes to push people to do their best and sometimes that means riling them up to take his bait. Out of all his batch though he had the worst testing scores and despite his pilot role, he's the lowest ranking of the batch and everyone else is looked to with much more respect. I think he has a sort of subconscious complex and he's nervous his brother's are too far above him that sometimes he feels like being a loud mouth asshole is the only way to get their attention and feel looked at by others.

[3] What emotion is the hardest for them to deal with?

Caddy struggles with anger, he's too used to swallowing down his own emotions to pretend to be super placid and amicable. Jabber struggles with grief, he doesn't know how to be introspective about it and struggles with being verbally vulnerable despite him being an external processor.

[12] How high is their self-esteem? *

Caddy's I'd say is decently high all things considered. He knows he does a good job, Whistle and Quips say he does a good job, he's got a good head on his shoulders and he knows it.

Jabber's like medium to medium low depending. Tbh if he could get diagnosed with something I'd say Jabber has BIpolar Type II symptoms for sure, whenever I think about him I always think about stuff and situations and I think his self esteem varies depending on if he's in a high or low swing. He likes to gaslight himself though into thinking he's the top dog and best Clone around.
