🥯 BAGEL — what does your oc's typical breakfast look like? do they usually eat breakfast?
You get to pick who attends the breakfast buffet today XD
Ohoho thank you! I'll be answering for Nkulu, Blaze, and Finn!
🥯 BAGEL — what does your oc's typical breakfast look like? do they usually eat breakfast?
Nkulu's a sucker for some umngqusho (which mainly consists of samp and beans), he just can't get enough of it. However, he certainly won't turn down some bacon and eggs either!
Blaze loves some eggs for breakfast, though he also likes simple yet yummy porridge. What he makes for breakfast changes depending on his mood or what's available, so he doesn't really have a specific breakfast.
Finn loves eating shelled shellfish wrapped in seaweed. It's a quick and simple make but filling and delicious. Silas would make it a lot for him before school. At NRC, raw seafood is a bit of a pain to try and get consistently for breakfast, so he finds he likes yoghurt with fruit instead.

Aaaa. I'm sorry I meant to ask SOUTH AFRICAN FOOD RECCOS
Oh I see! We are a multicultural country, and our food reflects that too. So food like burgers, pasta etc are extremely popular and part of our usual diet. Also, we are not the most vegetarian-friendly nation, so I do not too many recs for that. But here are a few South African "delicacies":
Bunny chow (basically South African curry in a massive bread bowl with carrot salad) SO GOOD!
Durban style biryani - very different to Indian styles of biryani and is kinda more like a pulao and has lentils etc. (CAN BE VEGETARIAN)
Wors rolls with onions, a mix of peri, and all gold tomato sauce, omfg drooling!
Biltong and droëwors (my all-time favourite snack).
Rusks (must be dipped in Ceylon aka five roses tea)
Braai. - our version of a BBQ - but we DO not do stuff like hotdogs, etc. Braais are often chicken pieces, sosaties, lamb chops, wors, and steak, served with potato or baked beans salad or chakalaka. Meat is also seasoned with a bunch of local marinades and it is very common to add beer.
Braai broodtjies (basically sandwich toasted on the braai, can be vegetarian ... most common being cheese)
Potjiekos - can be a stew or curry cooked long and slow in a 3-legged pot for HOURS ... so divine.
Mosbolletjies - delicious sweet bread ahhhh with a ton of butter
Beerbread
Samp + beans and mutton curry (can be veg curry) - a fusion of Zulu and Indian culture - cook separately and then add all together in one pot and ahhhh so divine.
Steak with biltong cheese sauce with creamy spinach, butternut and chips.
Burgers with either biltong, mushroom or monkey gland sauce
Peri peri chicken livers or giblets
Malva pudding
Milk tart
Peppermint crisp tart
Tinroof ice cream (not a fave of mine tbh)
Koeksisters

Historic Cooking
Nasaump
Nasaump is a traditional Wampanoag dish that is made from dried corn, local berries, and nuts. It is boiled in water until it thickens, and is similar to a porridge or oatmeal. 1 1/2 cups grits or cornmeal* 1 cup strawberries, raspberries, blueberries or a combination of all three 1/2 crushed walnuts, hazelnuts, sunflower seeds or a combination of all three 1 quart water Maple syrup or sugar to taste (optional) Combine cornmeal, berries, crushed nuts, and the optional sweetener in a pot of water and bring to a boil. Turn down the heat to medium and cook, stirring frequently, for 15 minutes-20 mins (*cornmeal will cook faster than grits).
Samp
This recipe is the English version of Nasaump. The word samp is a simplified English version of the word nasaump.
This description comes from the 1600s book "Two Voyages to New England", by John Josselyn:
It is light of digestion, and the English make a kind of Loblolly of it to eat with Milk, which they call Sampe; they beat it in a Morter, and sift the flower out of it; the remainder they call Hominey, which they put into a Pot of two or three Gallons, with Water, and boyl it upon a gentle Fire till it be like a Hasty Puden; they put of this into Milk, and so eat it.
Modern Version
2 cups coarse corn grits 4 cups water 1 cup milk ¼ cup sugar
Bring water to a boil in large saucepan with a heavy bottom. Add the corn grits and stir. Simmer until they are soft, about 10 minutes, and the water has been absorbed. Serve with milk and sugar.
Curd Fritters
Curds are a soft cheese like cottage cheese or ricotta. These fritters are a lot like thin pancakes or crepes. This recipe is from the 1594 cookbook "The Good Huswifes Handmaide for the Kitchin" (pp. 47-48):
Take the yolks of ten Egs, and breake them in a pan, and put to them one handful Curdes and one handful of fine flower, and sttraine them all together, and make a batter, and if it be not thicke ynough, put more Curdes in it, and salt to it. Then set it on the fyre in a frying pan, with such stuffe as ye will frie them with, and when it is hot, with a ladle take part of your batter, and put of it into the panne, and let it run as smal as you can, and stir then with a sticke, and turne them with a scummer, and when they be fair and yellow fryed, take them out, and cast Sugar upon them, and serve them foorth.
Modern Version
5 eggs curds (ricotta, cottage or other soft cheese) wheat or corn flour salt cooking oil or butter sugar
Make a thin batter with the eggs and equal amounts of curds and flour. Season with salt. Heat a small amount of cooking oil in your frying pan. When the oil is hot, pour in the batter and tip the pan to make the batter spread very thin (that’s what “let it run as small as you can” in the recipe means). They should be like crepes. When brown on one side, use your knife to flip them over or slide them onto a plate and flip them over into the pan. Add more oil to the pan when needed. Serve with sugar sprinkled on the top if you wish.
Turkey Sobaheg
Sobaheg is the Wampanoag word for stew. Like most stews, this dish is easily adapted to seasonal ingredients. The ground nuts help to thicken the sobaheg. Variations of this dish are still made in Wampanoag country today.
1/2 pound dry beans (white, red, brown or spotted kidney-shaped beans) 1/2 pound white hominy corn or yellow samp or coarse grits 1 pound turkey meat (legs or breast, with bone and skin) 3 quarts cold water 1/4 pound green beans, trimmed and cut into 1 inch-lengths 1/2 pound winter squash, trimmed and cubed 1/2 cup raw sunflower seed meats, pounded to a course flour (or pounded walnuts) Dried onion and/or garlic to taste Clam juice or salt to taste (optional)
Combine dried beans, corn, turkey, seasonings and water in a large pot. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, turn down to a very low simmer, and cook for about 2 1/2 hours. Stir occasionally to be certain bottom is not sticking. When dried beans are tender, but not mushy, break up turkey meat, removing skin and bones. Add green beans and squash, and simmer very gently until they are tender.
Add sunflower or nut flour, stirring until thoroughly blended.
Boiled Bread
Boiled bread is a small patty made mostly of cornmeal with crushed nuts and berries added in. It is dropped in a pot of boiling water and when done, rises to the top. 1 quart slightly boiled water 1/2 cup cornmeal 1/2 cup corn flour 1/2 cup dried cranberries, blueberries, and/or currants 1/2 cup crushed nuts or seeds (walnuts, hazelnuts or sunflower seeds) Maple syrup or sugar to taste (optional) Combine all ingredients in large bowl and mix thoroughly. After mixing, slowly add a spoonful at a time of slightly boiled water. When the mix is thick enough to be sticky, shape round patties (about 3 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick). Return water to slight rolling boil and drop in 1 or 2 patties, carefully making sure they do not stick to the bottom. Remove breads when they begin to float.
Stewed Pompion
This is a delicious recipe for pumpkin, known as "pompions" to English people in the 17th century, as were all squash. It is one of the earliest written recipes from New England, from a book written by John Josselyn, a traveler to New England in the 1600's. (John Josselyn, "Two Voyages to New England").
John Josselyn called this recipe a “standing dish” suggesting that this sort of pumpkin dish was eaten everyday or even at every meal. He called it “ancient” because English housewives had cooked this recipe in New England for a long time.
The Ancient New England standing dish. But the Housewives manner is to slice them when ripe, and cut them into dice, and so fill a pot with them of two or three Gallons, and stew them upon a gentle fire a whole day, and as they sink, they fill again with fresh Pompions, not putting any liquor to them; and when it is stew'd enough, it will look like bak'd Apples; this they Dish, putting Butter to it, and a little Vinegar, (with some Spice, as Ginger) which makes it tart like an Apple, and so serve it up to be eaten with Fish or Flesh: It provokes Urine extreamly and is very windy.
Modern Version
4 cups of cooked (boiled, steamed or baked) squash, roughly mashed 3 tablespoons butter 2 to 3 teaspoons cider vinegar 1 or 2 teaspoons ground ginger 1/2 teaspoon salt
In a saucepan over medium heat, stir and heat all the ingredients together. Adjust seasonings to taste, and serve hot.

*Deep Breath*
Okay, so I started work on this download back when it was 100, but life got busy and when I was able to resume working on it, there were 150. Life got busy again before I was finished, and now there are 250 of you amazing people... but I’m actually getting this thing out there, so yay for that.
There are 61 meshes in this download, and hundreds of recolors. A quick rundown of what’s included:
Some of @aroundthesims 4t2 tattoo parlor set. The chair is cloned from pikkon’s tattoo chair, so it’s a double for the makeover chair. The single rolling drawer is an end table that is slaved to the double sideboard, so you need the double for the single to show up.
High School Years’ Starry Eyed prom/dance set, which contains the balloon arch (sculpture), backdrop (sculpture), dining table, dining chair, and banquet table, cloned from a very similar table by @veranka-downloads
And finally, I converted at least one thing from every expansion pack and game pack from Sims 4 currently released that hadn’t been converted before, plus a few deco things from Sandy @ ATS that I really wanted in my game.
From top left to bottom right...
Girl Scout cookies (ATS, sculpture) • Pepperidge Farm cookies (ATS, sculpture) • Royal Dansk cookie tin (ATS, sculpture) • Teddy Grams (ATS, sculpture) • Arrrmed Dining Chair (Base Game) • Captain Rodrigo Dining Chair (Base Game) • Salyut Aeronaut Chair (Base Game) • Booping Shnoops (Cats & Dogs, sculpture) • Crate End Table (Cats & Dogs) • Town Statue 4 (Cats & Dogs Debug) • Town Statue 5 (Cats & Dogs Debug) • Fuzzread Article (City Living) • M.A.P. Most Amazing Player (City Living) • Chicken Competition Prize Ribbon (Cottage Living Debug, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and participation ribbon recolors included) • Food Platter (Dine Out Debug) • Party’s Over Chair (Discover University) • Polymer Chameleon Barstool (Discover University) • Very Impressive Lawyery Desk Chair (Discovery University) • Very Impressive Lawyery Desk (Discover University) • Fabric Sampe Book (Dream Home Decorator Debug) • Bougie Burlap Sofa (Eco Lifestyle) • Biochemical Medical (sculpture, Get Famous) • The Queen’s Gossip Chair (Get Famous) • Seat of the House barstool (Get Together) • Doctor of Medicine Diploma & My First Simolean (Get to Work) • Ever-So-Versatile Chillbox End Table (Get to Work) • Modern Metallic Illuminated Display Case (not illuminated, but functional table, Get to Work) • Stainless Steel Fab Slab (Get to Work) • Bubbly Barstool (High School Years) • Cheer Megaphone (sculpture, High School Years) • Clear as Crystal Coffee Table (High School Years) • High School Event Banner (High School Years) • Modest Marcel Dining Chair (High School Years) • Call Me Ottoman (functional living chair, Island Living) • Bug Bite Cure (Journey to Batuu) • Supply Crate (functional end table, Journey to Batuu) • Stool de Selvadorada (Jungle Adventures) • Fenwick the V Banquet Table (3-tiled table, My Wedding Stories) • Not Your Average Firewood Loveseat (Outdoor Retreat) • Timber Log Chair (Outdoor Retreat) • Brohill Barstool (Parenthood) • Magical Crystal Cluster 2, 3, and 4 (Realm of Magic Debug) • Violets are Blue Flower Arranging Station (functional table, Seasons) • Spirit Doll (Snowy Escape) • Pillow for Deep Thoughts (was a throw pillow, but I turned it into a functional bean bag chair, Spa Day) • The Sign Saw You (Strangerville Debug) • You Saw the Sign (Strangerville Debug) • Dead Hawthorn Tree (sculpture, Vampires) • Fenry Chompsalot Jr. (sculpture, Werewolves)
When it comes to the downloads, there are two options for you to choose from. One offers each of the meshes in a separate folder with its recolors and the textures for each so you can pick and choose what you want to keep. The second zip is all the recolors merged with their respective meshes, so there are 61 total files. You only need to download one.
I hope everyone finds at least a few things they can use. Enjoy! And thank you for following!

Diselamatkan
LOL lagi seru banget hidup. Sangat anxiety-inducing sesungguhnya karena ku personally juga pernah kerja bareng Mas Oki (ketua PPI UK-nya) and OH BOY if it wasn’t the worst experience I’ve had in my life. Intinya kerja bareng doi ribet lah, bikin ku dipanggil sub-rector Exeter, I cried for the whole night, had a counselling session because of this, dan betul-betul hancur rasanya dunia tuh. Sejak saat itu, I decided not to get involved in whatever event/occasion yang ada Mas Oki-nya. I tried my best juga not to hear his name as often, not to talk about him whatsoever. Ku sebetulnya pengen banget tried to help other people too: at least ngasih caution aja gitu ke orang-orang supaya hati-hati kerja sama dia, tapi susah banget karena bisa kena tuntutan balik “Noni talked ill about Mas Oki”, kan ga pengen ya. Jadi yaudah I decided to suffer all by myself, took the fall, hit, and pain by myself, dan berdoa saja dalam diam. Alhamdulillahnya finally people under him started to realize what kind of man he is dan ya… sekarang itu lah, akhirnya terlaksanakanlah Mubeslub itu. Semoga dapat keadilan sebaik-baiknya deh ya orang-orang… AAMIIN.
Moving on from whatever shit happening with PPI UK 21/22 dan Oki… minggu ini lumayan mandek hidup
is what I wrote yesterday… OMG I’m SO all over the place these past two days tbh. Jadi pagi ini baru aja bantuin Sarah ikut outreach event ketemu dedek-dedek primary school 9-10 year old talking about rocks! And volcanoes! (Yes because what else would I be talking about). The event was fun. I got quite a few bizarre questions but all’s good. Every update was on my insta-story account btw, feel free to take a look.
This evening juga bakal ketemu Kang Emil aka Pak RK lagi visiting Oxford. As usual, tentu saja ku akan menjadi seksi sibuknya aka nanti setelah talk akan harus ke restaurant to escort people who’s coming in to have dinner.
Yesterday… ngapain ya, kenapa felt a bit hectic? Oh, pagi kelas pelatnas IGEO. We talked about seismograph. Then I had lunch at Sasi’s while having a call with Iqbal Lail who’s sadly just going through a break-up. He didn’t seem sad, though. And GOOD for him, because tbh I HATE his ex-boyfriend. Terus habis lunch ketemu Xiangdong yang randomly minta dianter keliling L1 dan Basement “to see the lab”. Sambil jalan pulang ke wisudaan Kevin had a call sama Mita talked about anything and everything.
Mita helped me pick the flowers. Terus ke Brookes, foto-foto. Awalnya udah nge-plan mau have dinner sama Diny di Asian Mama Headington, tapi ternyata Kevin ngajakin dinner di COSMO! Terus kuajak aja Diny ikut juga. Cosmo is okay… a bit pricey for buffet food, tapi dessert sectionnya OK sih. Sebetulnya gatau final kena charged-nya berapa, tapi weekday kemarin kayanya kena £19.50/pax. I LOVE the Bao yang isi lotus sama red bean.
Sampe rumah sebetulnya kenyang banget... baru tidur jam 1am kurang sepertinya. Dan tadi pagi bangun jam 7am wow…
Duh aslinya banyak banget yang mau ditulis. Ini bahkan belum sempat recounting weekend ngapain aja kan… dan kalau baca judul, awalnya mau cerita panjang lebar tentang how selama ini diselamatkan dari AMAT sangat banyak hal sama Allah SWT. Salah satunya Mas Oki sih.
Seru banget tapi. What an honour to be able to speak in front of 14k people! Crazy. Muka tapi udah mukabantal banget biarin lah ya.
Anaknya Janetta bernama Aran yang mana ku most of the time spent the time with him just talking non-sense about animals, dinosaurs, and rocks :” Jonas juga datang, dan Ashwin, dan Aishwarya.
Jumat Kamis biasa lah ya (mencoba) kerja aja… setelah kejadian Alex minggu lalu lol
Oh, Senin sebetulnya Joost ngajakin ngecek standard yang baru sampe di Lumex tapi gara-gara kebangun jam 4 itu kan males banget ya ke dept, akhirnya ku menolak lol durhaka banget ya w jadi anak Dphil…
Udah sih. Tchus!!!

THE CAMBRIDGE TOUR DIARIES
DAY - 2 Platinum Jubilee Caribbean Tour || 20 March 2022
On 20 March 2022, their second day in Belize while on tour of the Caribbean on behalf of the Queen the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge carried out a series of visits to learn more about the history and culture of Belize.
They started their day by visiting the family-run Che'il Mayan Cacao Farm in Indian Creek where they learnt about the history of cacao in Maya culture. They got to taste some of the farm's delicious goodness and even tried their hand out at making some chocolate by grinding the beans
Their next stop was the village of Hopkins which is the cultural center of the Garifuna community in Belize where they did a walkabout and chatted with the residents.
William and Catherine joined into the festivities, dancing the local "punta" and samped the Hudutu broth-style meal as they immersed themselves in the culture of the Garifuna community.
They later took a walk of the beach and met a small group of marine conservation specialists to learn more about Belize’s unique marine environment.

Oooooooooooooo top 5 dishes from South Africa. I’m asking for science.
are you really asking for science, or do you want me to get cancelled for having controversial food opinions ?
also, our food culture is very meat-centric. one of our public holidays, Heritage Day, is even unofficially called "Braai Day" (i.e. barbecue day) because braai is the One thing that unites this country. I however, am vegetarian...
so with that in mind :
Bobotie. make it vegetarian by replacing the ground beef with lentils. I've had meat-eating friends agree that this version is delicious. serve with peach blatjang/chutney and yellow rice with raisins (y'all can fight me. the raisins are necessary to balance the aromatic spices)
Tumblr media
Chakalaka. a tomato-y vegetable relish. a low-effort dish for when you need something warm and nutritious, but easy. usually served with pap (porridge, basically like polenta), but also great with mashed potatoes. chakalaka can be served on boerewors rolls too, which are like hotdogs but with farm-style sausage
Tumblr media
Pickled fish. the name is misleading, this isn't like Scandinavian pickled herring, it's actually just fish in mild curry onions. and as a vegetarian, the onion component without the fish can serve as an accompaniment to, like, fried tofu, cauliflower 'schnitzel' or even vetkoek. would actually also be good on a bao bun. traditionally eaten from Good Friday to Easter
Tumblr media
Boeber. an aromatic, milky desert with vermicelli and sago. here in the Cape its traditionally served at boeka (iftar) on the 15th night of Ramadaan... or just on any cold winter's night. literally my favourite non-savoury dish
Tumblr media
Melktert. a sweet milk-based tart/pie. youtube polyglot Lindie Botes posted a recipe which uses condensed milk. which I suppose is fine and a short-cut, but for the love of God please know that that is absolutely not the traditional way of making it
Tumblr media
honourable mention : daaltjies. google them. and I feel weird for not including umngqusho (samp and beans) or waterblommetjiebredie (literally water-blossom stew, except that apparently waterblommetjies are called "Cape pond weed" in English, which sounds gross). those are two classic, traditional dishes. but I just personally don't care for them that much

Episode 10: The Night of Act
Semua lagi dinner dan ketawa-ketawa. Ymir dateng-dateng heboh.
Ymir: “AHHHHH PUAS BANGETTTTT!!!”
Reiner, sambil ngebir, nyengir, nanya:
Reiner: “Lo bungkus Historia?”
Ymir (senyum nakal, duduk di pinggir meja): “Enak guntingannya~.”
Seluruh cowok: “WOYYYYYY!!!” pecah tawa
Bertholdt udah ketawa sampe batuk.
Reiner (masih penasaran): “Dia bisa session malem gak?”
Ymir langsung ngegenggam kaus Reiner, muka serius:
Ymir: “Dia. Punya. Gue.”
Bertholdt (setengah mabok): “Hahaha udah lah Rein, jangan coba-coba.”
KAMAR ANNIE – MALAM
Pintu kebuka. Eren, Mikasa, dan Jean masuk.
Annie: “Hi.”
Eren: “Nonton apa lo?”
Annie (santai): “Serial killer.”
Mikasa narik selimut, duduk santai di ujung kasur. Jean ngikutin, langsung rebahan sebelah Mikasa, kayak gak ada dosa.
Eren: melotot pelan, bete tapi diem
Lagi awkward-awkwardnya…
GUBRAKKKK!!!
Pintu kebuka keras, Reiner, Bertholdt, dan Armin masuk, bawa wine botolan, cemilan resort, dan vibes anak-anak party.
Reiner (teriak): “AYO ANCUR-ANCURAN TONIGHTTTTT!!!”
PANTAI – PINGGIR PANTAI, MALAM
Pieck (senyum pelan): “Iya. Gue ngerasa mereka gak bohong kayak manusia.”
Tiba-tiba, bayangan orang dateng dari arah bar.
Zeke, pake kemeja linen kebesaran, bawa gelas cocktail dan senyum sok cool, nyamperin mereka.
Zeke: “Malam, kalian. Mau nambah minum?”
Pieck: “Gue masih ada.”
Porco: “Gue juga. Tapi thanks.”
Zeke (liat Pieck, senyum sok charming): “By the way, lagi ada sate spesial malam ini. Kalo mau, ambil sendiri di buffet. Enak, banget.”
Pieck: “Oke, makasih.”
Pas Porco jalan, Zeke langsung duduk di bean bag kosong deket Pieck, nyender dikit, mata jelalatan.
Zeke: “Mbak Pieck, aman Mbak?”
Pieck (tanpa nengok): “Gue paling males jawab basa-basi.”
Zeke ketawa awkward.
Pieck: fokus liat laut, gak ngeladenin
Sementara itu, Porco udah jalan ke area makan buat ngambil sate, sambil gumam: “Gue tinggal bentar aja... Mas-mas itu udah sok asik.”

how would sackler react if the reader was helping him with sample and it turns out she loves babies? thank you!
-just screaming-
Sackler would, honestly, be somewhat worried with you meeting his niece. With how Jessa acted, and then Hanna with her own baby...he just wasn’t too sure how you would feel when he said that he was babysitting for his sister. You, however, cease to amaze him when you just grin, all excited, getting to meet the Wonderful Bean Baby Samps that Sackler gushes about so much.
It shocked him even more when Sackler finds that, once his toddler niece waddled through the door, instantly went to you! He does a double take, seeing you kneeling down to her height, introducing yourself to her, and Samps just goes insane with showing how good she is at shaking hands, saying her name to you, and listing her favorite things from applesauce, froggies, her uncle and PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY SAMMICHEEZ. He sees you pretend to gasp, saying “Well, guess what, Miss Samps! We’re having that for lunch today!” and Sackler swears there were stars in his niece’s eyes as she bounced on her toes and began babbling about whatever she can to you.
Adam Sackler literally just watches you and Samps bond and have a ball, that he felt like the third wheel in the babysitting job he was bestowed with. For him, he never expected someone he was dating to treat Samps like the precious beanie she is (in his eyes). Sackler gets a tiny bit jealous when Samps asks you to play with her, or get something off a shelf, but he can’t help but grin with absolute joy at how Samps loves you, and you obviously love her.
After his niece is gone and you two are left alone, Sackler tackles you to the couch for your evening make out session, not missing how you laugh and tell him how much fun you had playing with Sample and he whines. “God, it was so fuckin’ awesome seeing you and Samps being the best buddies in the WHOLE FUCKIN’ WORLD.” “You sure you weren’t jealous? You would tell me how often she would cling to you and think the world of you...She’s such a cutie, isn’t she adorable?” He just growls “I fucking love you!!” before pinning you to his couch.
