Artwork of Magolor which was posted by Satoshi Ishida on the official Kirby: Triple Deluxe "Behind the Scenes" Special Miiverse Community in October of 2015 to commemorate the 4th anniversary of the release of Kirby's Return to Dream Land. It was posted in America on the 23rd of October, on the 25th in Europe, and on the 27th in Japan, which was each region's respective release date for the game.

This illustration was by Monami Matsuura, who was in charge of modelling and animation for Magolor's main form in the original Wii version of Kirby's Return to Dream Land.

She stares at you shocked, or well, she stares at the flowers, she never expected something like this and is even a little afraid that this may be a cruel joke but when you confirm that the flowers are for her Shouko swallow her nervousness, with shaking hands she takes the flowers, staring at them a little longer before finally smiling, thanking you with shining eyes and a wide sheepshly smile

Yuzuru Nishimiya

She is dumbfounded, like, are those really for her? Why? She does like the gesture but she is just confused, why buying her flowers? She scoff and calls you cheesy but still takes the flowers, holding them with care and looking at them, carefully taking in the details of every single one with a smile, she feels flattered (not that she will admit it) and she will make sure to thank you right before teasing you, yeah she is not the only one who will be vulnerable in this moment!

Miyoko Sahara

With a surprised expression she looks at you and at the flowers, repeating your words in her mind over and over until she is able to smile, Sahara is not strange of reciving gifts out of admiration, but this is special because it is from you, she takes the flowers right after and thank you deeply with a kiss on the cheek, looking at you a little longer, basking on the moment, just before looking at the flowers, appreciating its beauty and holding them as if the most precious thing in the world

Shoya Ishida

Why? He doesn't get it, what made you think he was deserving of reciving flowers? Please don't get him wrong! He is incredibly flustered by your gesture but, does he deserve it? He is incredibly hesitant but he takes the flowers because you insist, and once the flowers are finally in his hands he finally start to feel that this is alright, that he does deserve this just please forgive him if he start tearing up

Satoshi Mashiba

He is surprised but this is definetly a pleseant surprise, he never expect you would bought him flowers but he accept them with a smile, Mashiba tease you for it but just a little because right after he thanks you deeply, you really are sweet and he is grateful, not only for the flowers but for having you in his life, he takes one flower from the bouquet and offer it to you because you also deserve to recive flowers (don't worry, one of this days he will also gift you something beautiful to express his love)

Charitable Hearing- A Silent Voice One Shot Fanfic

A few weeks have passed since the events of A Silent Voice, and Shoko and Shoya have come up with a brilliant idea- a non profit charity for the deaf and hard of hearing! But will it all pay off?

It was a fine morning- the birds were singing, the butterflies were fluttering about, and bully and victim turned best friends Shoya Ishida and Shoko Nishimiya; alongside the latter’s sister Yuzuru, were planning on that day’s activity. What do you think we should do for people like you? The former replied to the latter in sign language. How about we begin a charity for them? The latter replied in sign. Oh, that’s a great idea! I’ll go tell my mom and make sure that she approves of it. Shoya signed back, and ran to get his mom.

“Mom!” He said as he ran into the hair salon where his mother, Miyako Ishida, was working. “What’s all the buzz, son?” She asked, finishing up the hairstyle of one of her clients. At the same time, Shoya’s sister Yachiyo Ishida and her husband Pedro walked in. “And what are you so excited about?” The latter replied. Shoya told them all about his idea and was crossing his fingers that they would approve. “A charity for the deaf and hard of hearing?” Miyako asked. “Well, I don’t see why not. As long as you stick to it, you can do it.” She replied as she ruffled her son’s hair. “Thanks, mom.” Shoya replied as he ran back to where Shoko was waiting for him.

Now that Shoya had the approval of his mom, the two of them immediately got to work on the charity. Ok, first up we should come up with titles or something like that. Something that can get people’s attention. He signed over to Shoko, who was busy writing down titles. After much brainstorming, they finally came up with a title- Help For The Hard of Hearing. “Now all we have to do is to notify everyone else about it- as long as they get the message.” Shoya said, posting the idea online. Yuzuru, on the other hand, took to the world offline to help get the word about her big sister’s idea.

It didn’t take long for word to get around, though. As once the idea was out, it didn’t take long for people to get the message. Tomohiro Nagatsuka found out first. “A charity… started by my friend?!” He exclaimed in amazement. Then Naoka Ueno, and then all the others that Shoya and Shoko knew. And not long after word got out, and as the three friends were working on the charity, a knock came at the door. It was everyone who had gotten word about the new non profit charity. “We just heard about your new charity!!” Miyoko Sahara said as she also signed it to the others. “When do we start?” Miki Kawai replied with ecstatic eyes. Satoshi Mashiba nodded in agreement. Even Yaeko Nishimiya, the mom of Shoko and Yuzuru, was amazed. “I never thought that the three of you would start a charity nowadays!” She said.

“So… when do we begin?” Asked Maria, Shoya’s niece as she tugged at her uncle’s pant leg. “When do we start…” he began. “I’d say about now!” Yuzuru finished for him. Everyone cheered as they all began to support the new charity. And to make a long story short, it was all worth it in the end.

oh man your art style is SO great! who's your inspo? (if you have one!)

Thank you so much!! To answer your question: I definitely have many, many inspirations.

For my paintings, I would say the impressionist/post-impressionist art movement of the late 19th century is my biggest inspiration, Van Gogh being a massive one. Also many American painters after the fact in the 1910s-19540s, Like J. C. Leyendecker and Norman Rockwell, which have been some recent favorites of mine. I love how expressive and dynamic their paintings are, despite how mundane the scenes are. I also quite like Henry Scott Tuke (which I recently referenced in my comic that I made for the VanderMatthews zine I am organizing with the blues and greens, open waters, and queer subtexts).

Edit: I also love the surrealist movement!! René Magritte’s all around weirdness is super inspirational. I love nonsensical, dreamlike works from this time.

I’d be remiss to not give due credit to the brilliant Akira Toriyama. His draftsmanship is truly legendary, and, despite its many flaws, Dragon Ball is still one of my favorite series ever. I also give massive credit to Junji ito, Hirohiko Araki, Katsuhiro Otomo, Sui Ishida and many, many other manga creators: as they are half the reason I fell in love with comics like I did.

On the complete other end of the comic spectrum: Bill Waterson is credited with the reason I love comics as much as I do. I read Calvin and Hobbes as a child and I cannot express in words how much that series meant (and still) means to me. I doubt my love for comics and art in general would be here without that silly, mischievous little boy and his pet tiger. As strange and ridiculous as it sounds: I also give credit to Jim Davis, because I also LOVED Garfield.

As for more modern examples: I can make a speedfire list of some prominent internet/ various artist that I take huge inspiration from (In no particular order):

I truly cannot express how much fandom culture and specifically fanart has shaped me as a creator. I quite literally wouldn’t be here with the career I have as an artist without fandom. It’s a wild, wild place that I truly will always be grateful for being in my life.

last book: i'm currently rereading ‘days at the morisaki bookstore’ by satoshi yagisawa, and next on my reading list is ‘we'll prescribe you a cat’ by syou ishida. ‘days at the morisaki bookstore’ is slow paced in a really soothing way... it's a good book to read when you're trying to find something suitable after a long time. i really like the characters and their straightforwardness; it's a refreshing read to me :) 🔖

last movie: i don't watch many, but i convinced my younger niece and nephew to join me last week, and we watched ‘the lion, the witch and the wardrobe’ (2005) together!

last tv show: i think i have multiple running at once i just never keep up or remember because i rarely finish things even if i enjoy them (very silly i know)... but last i recall i was starting season two of ‘arcane’ and in the final quarter of the anime ‘twilight out of focus’.

sweet/savoury/spicy: savoury! it's the perfect middle, and can always be elevated to require an extra something (the spicy hehe)

relationship status: not in one

last thing i searched: .... archive of our own... and prydwen (for hsr character building)

current obsession: a few months ago i bought a classical mythology textbook secondhand, and with the recent honkai star rail update being greco-roman inspired, i've taken to reading and annotating it the way i would my english lit notes in uni !! super excited to get into the rest of it.

looking forward to: i'm hoping to spend more time in nature... going to the local botanical gardens / park, reconnecting with myself and allowing myself to breathe by avoiding social media wherever possible. i want to spend more time with my friends irl too 🩷 big hope of mine for this year!
