#twisted wonderland #twisted wonderland spoilers #HORSE #he looks like silver made a wish on a breyer horse model to bring it to life. i love him SO much.#he leaps through fire without a trace of fear! not a singed hair in his fancy little braid!#i got him on my second 10-pull!! so i got to experience the samson reveal in REAL TIME and it was glorious #though i'm still pouty that the club cards don't get stories >:(#i require three full episodes of silver taking better care of that horse than he does himself #he has ten different hoof picks and a three-hour mane and tail routine #an array of complementary accessories depending on the angle the light is sparkling off of his coat in the morning #sebek from halfway across the planet: MY HORSE IS STILL PRETTIER #can't wait for the eventual tempest reveal. i gotta see this extremely cool horse.

One of the best things about Disco Elysium by far is that it does not fear ugly women. The world is full of ugly men, but ugly women are so hard to come by.

#I'm not calling the characters ugly btw #i don't believe any one can be ugly #i do not care for beauty standards and thus i don't rank people based on how “ugly” or ��pretty” they are #but the characters in DE do not meet the conventional beauty standards and look like actual people with unique faces #and thus would be considered “ugly”#and that is so important to me. i go feral whenever media represents how people look like in real life and not how they look like in the #fictional parallel universe where everyone is a model and where a majority of the movies take place #because irl you don't have to be a model to be desirable #the most attractive man in any video game I've ever played has a receding hairline and a big nose and thick glasses and a small chin #and not only is representing realistic people. just good. in general. but it makes the character of Dolores Dei stand out so much more which #works for the game so well. she's barely human. she's a deity- a myth- a legend. the only version that exists of her now is the one with #glowing lungs. she's perfectly beautiful because she's inhuman. the fact that everybody else looks so human only highlights how inhuman she #has become yk?#if everyone was as conventionally attractive as her then she wouldn't stand out. we wouldn't get why she's so special.#disco elysium #disco elysium analysis #media analysis #beauty standards #this is only one aspect of how this game portrays real people btw. as someone interested in character design this just immediately stood out #to me #the first time i noticed it was when i first met garte and the second time was when i met ruby because neither are conventionally desirable #oh my fucking god the nerds who complain about a woman with a model face having body hair in a video game would perish if they played this #mainstream game/movie studios catering to western masses could never

stg, being an enjoyer of jane twdg is like being forced into an expert-level course on the way misogyny manifests in video game spaces.

god forbid a woman be complex or difficult or provably mischaracterized (see tags) at the end of her arc to service the culmination of a man’s storyline.

#“kenny was harrowed by loss in his family” so was jane. that is part of them literally being foils.#“kenny teaches clem more!” literally untrue a lot of clem’s combat style is rooted in what jane taught her (targeting the knees & basically #everything clem knows about knife combat- jane is also mirrored with lee in this sense as like was previously stated knife combat later goe #on to become a major element of how clem fights only outweighed by her use of firearms)#she teaches clem the gut trick & we see the innovative thinking that comes with being more independent & proactive influence the way clem #handles sticky situations & deals with feeling disempowered. like this is going to sound odd but the fact that her behaviour mirrors jane #at her best (even though her relationship with aj is more maternal the way she approaches him much more as an equal & capable of holding #agency over his own life is much more reminiscent of the way she was treated by jane & luke positively + the rest of the adults negatively #than how kenny or even lee treated clem [though lee did start to view her this way after the train] + her people reading skill.) & at her #worst (isolating herself + becoming cold + the fact she is [based on player choice] willing to leave aj behind for both their survival +#struggling with her need for community vs her sense of distrust in their lasting stability + her tendency to be unfeelingly pragmatic to a #fault except when it comes to aj + the fact that clem- at her worst is self-serving & somewhat uncaring in comparison to kenny’s possessive #hot-headedness etc) indicates that on some level- regardless of a player’s second season ending- clem considered jane to be a better #behavioural role model- this isn’t to say kenny was unimpactful but rather that his impact was different- where behaviourally we see elemen #of lee luke jane & even carver in clem’s later behaviour kenny’s impact is more so that of a cautionary tale- somebody clem cared for who #she witnessed lose himself entirely to his worst character flaws due to an inability to cope with the world she now lives in- something he #even admits to her in multiple endings iirc. kenny becomes the fate clem must strive against at all costs.#similar can be said of the ending where you go with jane regarding how it analogies clem’s fears & low self worth as a result of being #unable to maintain what she had with aj (in a manner that mirrors jane’s story in that she’s choosing to leave behind a living relative due #to no longer being able to be what they need- again depending on player choice*)#*my exact memory of the third season is hazier tbh. iirc it is dependent on player choice whether she is complacent with the decision to #make her leave the new frontier.#like the way the ending was handled was sloppy & jane was mischaracterized as a result of being shoved into a conflict that we know for #certain was not intended to go to her. calm down & just enjoy your man without being weird & misogynistic dear god.)#(also if you like clem & jane you will like holly robinson & selina kyle dc)#twdg jane #jane twdg #twdg

i have no mouth and i must scream speech but for about insomnia hate hate hate let me tell you how much i have come to hate being awake

#took half an expired tops brand unisom . wheeeee medicine that does nothing and then the next day you're groggy for twelve hours #but i have to do SOMEthing if i don't Try to make myself sleep that's Giving Up and if you Give Up . well #this is the second week in a row that ive failed to sleep on a night leading into the work week and i know most of the external reasons why #like. busy day tomorrow so anxious. haven't given myself a full weekend in a really long time so strung out.#had important stuff to do earlier that didn't happen so dwelling on that. woke up at 9am and wasn't out of bed until ten thirty so like #i got more than adequate sleep last night but this does not make me feel less worried about NOT sleeping TONIGHT #because again. every time i have a night of big insomnia im convinced that it's the beginning of an unending trend #that will make me wind up like my mother who is lucky she gets more than three hours of sleep every couple of weeks #and while she's done this her whole life qnd has adjusted to it (as much as a body can) i just know. based on how insomnia is for me #that i never could. it would be exactly as terrible every time i would never be able to be calm while it was happening #anyway everybody send me your best knockout gas #AND. it's SNOWING. fuck everything i hate it all #tomorrow im gonna be groggy as hell and have to drive to work and back and have to be With It bc we're doing activities and shit #and have to be like the model of library enthusiasm when i barely have that on a good day. and not actually physically groan #every time someone new wants a card because it means i have to interrupt what im doing dor the next fifteen minutes to say a spiel #i know i shouldn't hate that i should be glad we're getting engagement. and i am. i just wish i wasn't the one at the desk #and im not good at keeping that off of my face or being welcoming when i dont feel welcoming #i haven't gotten to do processing at my actual office desk in months. haven't gotten to be Off The Floor #which certainly hasn't helped my overall stress levels. i need to not be socially on so much it's slowly pulling me apart #and then i get home wnd im too tired to do anything and my house also falls apart around me #but if i DON'T have outings i also rot . there's no solution to this problem. not without quitting my job which ill never do #bc in today's market id never get anything half as good as this ever again. and as has been established. this relatively good job #is still not good enough for me not to be emotionally and mentally falling apart
