Why is no one talking about how funny it is that we got a game announced that's just "What if Pac-Man was sick and twisted?"

I know the character isn't really going to be returning any time soon due to Bandai Namco's continuing mission to screw as many people out of royalties as they possibly can, but I choose to believe Shadow Labyrinth is just what Ms. Pac-Man has been up to during her hiatus.

Saw Secret Level, and got inspired after getting better context from the Shadow Labyrinth game trailer.

I’ve noticed people tend to complain about Pac-Man cartoons not being faithful (how you can make a cartoon when the original game is just a yellow dot running around a maze filled with ghosts, fruit and edible dots I have no idea) but Shadow Labyrinth is the Bomberman Act Zero reaction decades late lol. Say what you will about Mesmeron or Betrayus but at least they’re closer to the spirit of the older games, lol. Still the game looks fun, and the short was utterly bizarre but still cool. Funny enough I haven’t seen people complain about this, so I guess turning Pac-Man into a horror thing is ok over embracing its Toon nature.

My only takeaway from the latest Nintendo Direct was dark gritty PAC Man. "Haha that yellow thing looks like PAC man. Oh haha it's going waka waka for a puzzle, ok they see the resemblance too. Oh wait... Bamco... Oh no that's Him for Real."

i think the highlight of my day is finding out that they’re making an edgy pacman metroidvania. simultaneously i couldn’t stop laughing but it also looks cool. what is this timeline

I watched the Nintendo Direct at my library today, and it became the ultimate test of self control to not freak out over the absolute BANGERS that were announced. Usually directs are just disappointment moments, but in my opinion, the W's outweighed the L's.

It's not my best work, but I had to post about this incredible moment.

Also, fun fact, Pac Man's original name was supposed to be "Puck Man." However, Namco didn't want people vandalizing the arcade machines turning the name into a funny bad word.

I stan Puck even though he may end up turning into an Eldritch horror and/or betraying me
