“I’m here on business,” the man says cheerfully. “The name’s Percy Okonjo, but please, call me Pez. I assume you’re one of the master glassblowers?”

Liam shrugs. “Sure,” he says shortly. He’s really, really not, but what Pez doesn’t know won’t hurt him. “Let’s step outside. I need some air.”

“It is rather toasty in here,” Pez agrees casually, his eyes fixed on Liam. “Easy to see why the sign says ‘hot shop’.”

Liam tears his gaze away from Pez. Goddamnit. If Pez really is here on business, Liam would do well not to read too much into that.

Seven sentences, from my upcoming rwrb fic And If Tomorrow It’s All Over, part of the lovely @shippingspree event.  --- Catherine had made the situation remarkably clear. There would be fuss enough already on the television, in the streets, and within the extended family - thus, in their house, the fiftieth birthday of the Princess of Wales would call for nothing more than dinner and a maximum of four gifts, none of which could be serious. At this age, there was no reason to make a fuss, she’d said. She was only one day older today than she’d been yesterday. The same phenomenon is witnessed by everyone everywhere, every time the sun rises. 

The extended monologue had gone on for nearly twenty minutes. 

However, two of the things in this life that Arthur holds most dearly are, one, his wife and, two, a healthy disregard for explicit instructions.

  he hadn’t planned on doing it, but he did it anyway. maybe it was because he was bored and in the mood for something different. maybe it was because he was a little drunk on sunlight and laughter and the sort of exhaustion that comes after a good, busy day. but suddenly he found himself closing the distance between himself and Eren and kissing the other boy on the mouth as the sun sank beneath the horizon.

  for a long time, there was only the sound of the river burbling over the stones hidden just beneath its skin. Levi determinedly stared at the grass on the riverbank, not moving. Eren touched his lips, blinked.

  “So that’s what kissing feels like,” he said. Levi could feel Eren’s stare, and didn’t resist when the other boy took his chin and turned Levi’s face towards his.

  Never before had he appreciated so much the color of Eren’s eyes: upon closer inspection a kaleidoscope of gray, whirling and blending together in a dizzying sunlit whirlpool that he thought he just might drown in.

  “It’s nice, this,” said Eren thoughtfully when they broke apart for a second time. “Kissing.” His gaze sharpened as he looked at Levi. “You never did tell me who you smooched.”

  Levi groaned, flopping onto his back in the soft grass. “Isn’t it obvious, shithead?”

  Eren grinned.
