Why am I so deeply cursed
#HORRENDOUSLY itchy scalp on this day. it actually started yesterday but it wasn’t a huge problem until i went to bed#i literally didn’t sleep because of it. i couldn’t sleep#if i don’t touch the parts that are itchy they get warm and start to hurt. that’s the only way i can describe it#i was supposed to be at work today but i had to call in bc i was like i’m too sleep deprived#i would’ve dropped drinks everywhere and probably cried if a customer was mean to me#so far i’ve tried antihistamines which did very little to help me sleep or soothe the itch#sudocrem which also did nothing. washing my hair after using a natural scalp treatment. don’t think that did anything#i burst into the pharmacy the second it opened and summarily went ‘HELP’ and they’ve sold me chlorphenamine which is apparently the fastest#antihistamine; and e45 dry scalp shampoo#the antihistamine combined with my sleep deprivation helped me nap for 4ish hours earlier#i also saw something about soothing properties of chamomile tea so i made a cold cup of chamomile tea and poured it straight over my head#i’ve had a cold towel on there. i’ve had a weed brownie in hopes it’d distract me but it’s barely kicked in or done anything#i’ve taken painkillers and those seemed to help a lot but i obviously can’t take them that often#i don’t know what else i can do without cancelling out what i’ve already done#i really don’t want to wash my hair for the third time in 28 hours but the e45 shampoo is the only thing i haven’t tried yet#i’ll try it in the morning. although that won’t help me sleep tonight#my face is also really itchy and i think it’s all part of the same eczema flare up. although my scalp has bumps on it so i’m not sure#genuinely i’m thinking eczema + folliculitis. or maybe an allergic reaction idk#the only thing i’ve used that was different was this ‘sweat guard’ lotion and even though i didn’t notice any irritation when i put it on#i still have to accept that it could be that. could be my sunscreen too#ugh fuck it. i’m just gonna wash my hair. again. i’ll be really mad if i do it in the morning and it turns out it would’ve fixed me#i JUST want to sleep. my kingdom for some sleep. i’m so fucking tired#personal

Made a bunch of cards with a new mechanic to explore INTERESTING PLAY PATTERNS and UNIQUE MULTIPLAYER POLITICS and for no other reason

#ka asks#custom cards#i started with obedience collar and then had more top-down ideas and then just kept going#all the cards give away some control to your owner#and while that could be comparable to stuff like Villainous Choice i made sure the owner always has a way to screw you over#they can tap your best attacker or exile your flashback cards or deny you mana for this turn#your owner can always make your situation worse in some way than if you just didn't play/activate the card#you are putting yourself in someone else's hands#you do always benefit in some way because i do like to design actual playable cards that aren't useless#i'm happiest with Food Bowl#some of them are “your owner can screw you over. then you draw 2 cards”#like seriously i made 3 separate cards with that exact upside#but with Food Bowl your owner getting control is a beautiful mix of upside and downside#you ARE getting an upside (an extra card) but it's integrated so smoothly with the loss of control#the most elegant design of the batch i think. definitely my favorite#great flavor too. your owner chooses what to feed you. and you get an extra card because your owner is spoiling you~#2nd place goes to hypnovisor purely for the text “activate this ability only if you control yourself”#OH ALSO almost every zone is covered#hand (claw trimmer) graveyard (soothing brush) library (food bowl) battlefield (last will) stack (snug muzzle)#you give your owner control over everything#even your combat phase (collar + kennel) and your mana (walkies route) and your very game actions (hypnovisor)#oh yeah the flavor of Pet's Last Will is that all of your property now legally belongs to your owner#it's like you left it to them in your will but you're still alive but you're not a person anymore. something like that

It contains small amounts of vitamins B and C, as well as minerals like calcium, iron, and potassium. Natural Energy Boost: Honey is a quick and easily digestible source of carbohydrates, making it an excellent energy booster. It can be consumed before or during physical activities to provide a natural energy kick. Antioxidant Properties: Honey is rich in antioxidants, which help protect your body against free radicals and oxidative stress. These antioxidants can support overall health and may reduce the risk of chronic diseases. Soothes Sore Throats: Honey has been used for centuries as a natural remedy for soothing sore throats and coughs. It can be applied topically to minor cuts, burns, and abrasions to promote healing and prevent infection. Digestive Health: Consuming honey in moderation may support digestive health. It can help alleviate symptoms of indigestion and may act as a mild laxative when mixed with warm water. Skin Benefits: When applied to the skin, honey can moisturize, hydrate, and soothe. It is often used in skincare products to address issues like dryness, acne, and inflammation. Allergy Relief: Some people believe that consuming local raw honey may help alleviate allergy symptoms, as it could expose the body to small amounts of local pollen and potentially build immunity over time. Natural Sweetener: Honey is a healthier alternative to refined sugar and can be used as a natural sweetener in various recipes, beverages, and desserts. Weight Management: Substituting honey for sugar in your diet may help with weight management, as it is sweeter than sugar, allowing you to use less while still satisfying your sweet cravings. The essential skincare acids guide

type of acids sheet
Salicylic Acid – Best for oily and acne-prone skin. It penetrates deep into the pores, unclogs blackheads and whiteheads, controls excess oil, and prevents breakouts.
Glycolic Acid – Ideal for normal to oily skin. It exfoliates the top layer, brightens the skin, improves texture, and reduces fine lines and hyperpigmentation.
Lactic Acid – Suitable for dry and sensitive skin. It gently exfoliates while providing hydration, making it great for dullness and rough texture without irritation.
Mandelic Acid – Best for sensitive and acne-prone skin. It helps with uneven skin tone, reduces breakouts, and provides mild exfoliation without irritation.
Azelaic Acid – Works for all skin types, including sensitive skin. It reduces redness, fades hyperpigmentation, treats acne, and calms rosacea.
Kojic Acid – Best for hyperpigmented and sun-damaged skin. It helps lighten dark spots, melasma, and discoloration caused by acne scars or sun exposure.
Tranexamic Acid – Ideal for all skin types struggling with stubborn pigmentation. It effectively reduces melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), and sunspots.
Hyaluronic Acid – Suitable for all skin types, especially dry and dehydrated skin. It deeply hydrates, plumps fine lines, and retains moisture for a youthful look.
Polyglutamic Acid – Great for dry and dehydrated skin. It locks in moisture, provides long-lasting hydration, and enhances the skin’s elasticity.
Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) – Best for dull, uneven, and aging skin. It brightens, reduces pigmentation, fights free radicals, and boosts collagen production.
Ferulic Acid – Works for all skin types, particularly those using Vitamin C. It enhances the antioxidant power of Vitamin C and E, preventing premature aging.
Ceramides (Fatty Acids) – Essential for dry and sensitive skin. They repair and strengthen the skin barrier, preventing water loss and irritation.
Linoleic Acid (Omega-6 Fatty Acid) – Ideal for acne-prone and oily skin. It reduces clogged pores, balances oil production, and supports a healthy skin barrier.
Ellagic Acid – Good for sun-damaged and aging skin. It protects against UV damage, brightens skin, and provides antioxidant benefits.
Cinnamic Acid – Suitable for all skin types. It has anti-inflammatory properties and helps protect against environmental damage.
Succinic Acid – Best for oily and acne-prone skin. It controls sebum production, fights acne-causing bacteria, and soothes inflammation.
How to choose the right skincare acid for ur skin type
Oily & Acne-Prone Skin
Salicylic Acid (BHA): Penetrates deep into pores to remove excess oil and prevent breakouts.
Azelaic Acid: Reduces acne, fades dark spots, and calms redness.
Succinic Acid: A gentle anti-inflammatory that helps control breakouts.
Dry & Dehydrated Skin
Lactic Acid (AHA): Exfoliates while hydrating the skin.
Hyaluronic Acid: Retains moisture and plumps the skin.
Mandelic Acid: A mild exfoliant that improves texture without drying.
Combination Skin
Glycolic Acid (AHA): Brightens skin and smooths texture.

Hyaluronic Acid: Hydrates dry areas while balancing oil.
Sensitive Skin
Mandelic Acid: A gentle AHA that exfoliates with minimal irritation.
Azelaic Acid: Soothes inflammation and reduces redness.
PHA (Polyhydroxy Acids): Provides mild exfoliation while boosting hydration.
Hyperpigmentation & Dark Spots
Kojic Acid: Brightens skin and reduces discoloration.
Tranexamic Acid: Fades stubborn dark spots and melasma.
Glycolic Acid (AHA): Speeds up cell turnover for an even skin tone.
Aging & Wrinkles
Glycolic Acid (AHA): Stimulates collagen production and smooths fine lines.
Ferulic Acid: Enhances antioxidant protection and stabilizes vitamin C.
Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C): Brightens skin and fights free radical damage.
Common Mistakes When Using Skincare Acids
Using skincare acids can transform your skin, but when used incorrectly, they can cause irritation, sensitivity, or even worsen skin concerns. Here are some common mistakes to avoid:
1. Over-Exfoliating
Many people think using glycolic or salicylic acid daily will give them faster results, but excessive exfoliation weakens the skin barrier. This can lead to redness, peeling, breakouts, and sensitivity. (especially for oily skin)
Solution: Use exfoliating acids (AHAs/BHAs) 2-3 times per week and always listen to your skin. If it feels irritated, take a break pleaaase
2. Skipping Sunscreen
Acids like glycolic, lactic, and salicylic acid increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun. Without SPF, you risk sunburn, premature aging, and even worsening of dark spots.
Solution: Always use a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen daily when using serums with those acids.
3. Mixing the Wrong Acids
Not all acids work well together. Using too many active ingredients in one routine can cause irritation.
🔴 Examples of bad combinations:
Vitamin C + AHAs/BHAs → Can cause irritation and weaken Vitamin C’s effectiveness.
Retinol + AHAs/BHAs → Too harsh on the skin, leading to peeling and sensitivity. (by experience 💁🏻♀️)
Niacinamide + Vitamin C (unless properly formulated) → Can cause flushing or reduce effectiveness.
Solution: Use exfoliating acids on alternate days and simplify your routine to avoid irritation.
4. Not Hydrating Properly
Exfoliating acids remove dead skin cells but can also strip away moisture. Without proper hydration, the skin can feel tight, dry, or irritated.
Solution: After using acids, apply thick a moisturizer to maintain balance especially if the acids dry ur skin so fast

Mucus Buster
Everyone's got lingering congestion this year, so as someone who's no stranger to phlegm, and inherited the folk wisdom of a stage actress (the show must go on!) I share with you my recipe for making things better:
2L water
the juice and rind of one lemon (just dump the juiced rinds in, don't zest them, you maniac)
a small thumb of fresh ginger, sliced in coins
about a dozen cloves, some star anise, peppercorns, and maybe whole cinnamon or allspice or whatever else you like, in a tea ball (except the cinnamon if it doesn't fit, obvs)
good dollop of honey, to taste
Bring the water to a boil then dump in all the stuff. Keep it hot but not boiling – a slow cooker is good for this. Keep this pot on a low heat all day and serve yourself a mug every so often, adding water as necessary. At some point you will need to add a new lemon and some more honey, but the spices can generally carry over two pots if you're drinking it regularly.
The acid helps clear the gunk, ginger is good for the circulation, and clove/aniseed/pepper have some sort of decongestant/soothing properties. Honey is both nice and antiseptic, and apparently is a cough suppressant as well? Anyway, I just got over another run of Covid and this was wasn't 100% effective but it worked better than phenylephrine.

Had to tell her that dick off limits I hop on it at night, I'm a menace.
pairings: rafayel x possessive!reader
cw: unprotected sex, cowgirl, overstimulation, whiny!rafayel, crying, dom!reader, cum play, sub!rafayel, playing with paint, needy!rafayel (come on, it's him we're talking about), possessiveness, jealousy (sorta), he loves possessive women sm
You can't convince me that Rafayel isn't a whiny sub while you're riding him.
You didn't like the way women were so touchy and flirty towards him during his art exhibition earlier. But you know damn well, that Rafayel is still going to be the one crying later.
His back was laid against the floor of his studio. He panted heavily, trying to catch his breath. His white-collared shirt fell off his shoulders, buttons not in place. He whined against your touch-- body reacting to every move you make.
He flutters his lashes, eyes glassy as he looked at you with his blue orbs, his gaze filled with love and lust-- face flustered as he whimpered. His lips quivered, feeling his gritty cock inside your warm pussy. Just right after Rafayel entered your tight hole, he immediately came.
Can't resist how it sucks his whole cock so good--your walls clenching him inside. Resting his head against your bare chest, whimpering like a puppy, apologizing to you like a blabbing mess.
You did this to him.
This man will let you; use him, make you do everything to him--just to please you.
Oh god, what would the sea even react if they found out how freely and unhesitantly their sea god submits himself to a mere human?
You can't help but grin, adoring his pitiful state. Feeling his cum leaking out of your throbbing hole, dripping down to his cock. You leaned over and pulled him into a heated kiss, earning a moan from him between.
Hot tongues dancing inside as he savors the taste of your plump lips.
You pulled back from the sloppy kiss, his lips swollen as he looked at you with his lustful eyes. Saliva connected your lips and his--the look on his face was begging for more. You then caressed his cheek with your hand; Rafayel leaned into your touch as he placed his hand over yours, moving his head and placed a soft kiss on your palm.
You leaned back, the way your tight hole swallowed his whole cock, the way it clung to it--makes it hardened more as it twitches inside of you. Your soft hands resting over his pelvis--soothing it circles with your thumb as you smeared his cum and your juices together.
"Mon amour, p-please... 'lease, use me as you please." He begged, as if he were pleading you to take control over him. His mind went hazy; he was in pure ecstasy. Keeping his pace--pounding his cum deep inside your womb.
He's so desperate--to feel you, touch you, and be inside you.
Trying to catch your breath, you placed one hand on his chest while the other reached out for the brush with wet paint. Holding it, you positioned it against his pelvis, which was already smeared with his cum and your juices.
Fuck, he finds it hot when you're in control-- dominating him as you please. And most especially--how possessive you are.
As you ran the brush against it, you wrote something with bold, capital letters. Rafayel pursed his lips, his body quivering with every stroke of the brush.
After finishing, you threw the brush away. He leaned in to see what you had written:
"MY PROPERTY. ♥"
He loves possessive women!

Writing Notes: Herbal Remedies
References (Capsules & Powders; Compresses & Lotions; Creams; Decoctions; Infused Oils; Infusions; Ointments; Poultices; Syrups; Tinctures; Tonic Wines; Other Preparations)
CAPSULES & POWDERS
Powdered herbs are most easily taken as capsules but can be sprinkled on food or taken with water.
Externally, they can be applied as a dusting powder to the skin or mixed with tinctures as a poultice.
COMPRESSES & LOTIONS
Lotions are water-based herbal preparations such as infusions, decoctions, or diluted tinctures that are used to bathe inflamed or irritated skin.
Compresses are cloths soaked in a lotion and held against the skin.
Both are simple ways to use herbs externally and can be very effective in relieving swelling, bruising, and pain, soothing inflammation and headaches, and cooling fevers.
CREAMS
Making a cream involves combining oil or fat and water in an emulsion. If the process is rushed, the oil and water may separate.
Unlike ointments, creams blend with the skin and have the advantage of being cooling and soothing while at the same time allowing the skin to breathe and sweat naturally.
They can, however, deteriorate quite quickly and are best stored in dark, airtight jars in a refrigerator.
DECOCTIONS
Roots, bark, twigs, and berries usually require a more forceful treatment than leaves or flowers to extract their medicinal constituents. A decoction involves simmering these tougher parts in boiling water.
Fresh or dried plant material may be used and should be cut or broken into small pieces before decocting. Like infusions, decoctions can be taken hot or cold.
INFUSED OILS
Infusing an herb in oil allows its active, fat-soluble ingredients to be extracted; hot infused oils are simmered, while cold infused oils are heated naturally by the sun.
Both types of oil can be used externally as massage oils or added to creams and ointments.
Infused oil should not be confused with essential oil, which is an active constituent naturally present in a plant and has specific medicinal properties and a distinct aroma.
Essential oil may be added to an infused oil to increase its medicinal efficacy
INFUSIONS
An infusion is the simplest way to prepare the more delicate aerial parts of plants, especially leaves and flowers, for use as a medicine or as a revitalizing or relaxing drink.
It is made in a similar way to tea, using either a single herb or a combination of herbs, and may be drunk hot or cold.
OINTMENTS
Ointments contain oils or fats heated with herbs and, unlike creams, contain no water. As a result, ointments form a separate layer on the surface of the skin.
They protect against injury or inflammation of damaged skin and carry active medicinal constituents, such as essential oils, to the affected area.
Useful in conditions such as hemorrhoids or where protection is needed from moisture, as in chapped lips and diaper rash.
POULTICES
A poultice is a mixture of fresh, dried, or powdered herbs that is applied to an affected area.
Used to ease nerve or muscle pains, sprains, or broken bones, and to draw pus from infected wounds, ulcers, or boils.
SYRUPS
Honey and unrefined sugar are effective preservatives.
Can be combined with infusions or decoctions to make syrups and cordials.
They have the additional benefit of having a soothing action, and therefore make a perfect vehicle for cough mixtures as well as relieving sore throats.
With their sweet taste, syrups can disguise the taste of unpalatable herbs and are therefore greatly appreciated by children.
TINCTURES
Tinctures are made by soaking an herb in alcohol. This encourages the active plant constituents to dissolve, giving tinctures a relatively stronger action than infusions or decoctions.
They are convenient to use and last up to 2 years.
Tinctures can be made using a jug and a jelly bag, instead of a wine press. Although mainly used in European, American, and Australian herbal medicine, tinctures play a part in most herbal traditions.
TONIC WINES
Tonic wines are an agreeable way to take strengthening and tonic herbs to increase vitality and improve digestion.
Neither strictly medicinal, nor simply appealing to the palate, they are easy to prepare at home.
Made by steeping tonic herbs in red or white wine for several weeks.
OTHER PREPARATIONS
Steam Inhalations
Steam inhalations are an effective way to clear congestion and relieve sinusitis, hay fever, and bronchial asthma.
The combination of steam and antiseptic ingredients clears the airways throughout the respiratory system.
Gargles & Mouthwashes
Gargles and mouthwashes usually contain astringent herbs, which tighten the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat.
As gargles and mouthwashes are made from infusions, decoctions, or diluted tinctures, they can generally be swallowed for internal treatment. Ensure you do not exceed the daily internal dose of an herb.
Pessaries & Suppositories
Pessaries and suppositories are waxy pellets containing essential oil or fine powder.
They are used when oral medicine is likely to be broken down during digestion before reaching its intended site.
Pessaries are inserted into the vagina and suppositories into the anus, where they melt at body temperature.
The herb is quickly absorbed into the bloodstream, providing fast relief. It is best to buy ready-made suppositories.
Essential Oils
Essential oils can be used in massage to soothe minor aches and pains.
Before use, they should be diluted with a carrier oil as they can irritate the skin.
Essential oils deteriorate rapidly after dilution, so it is best to mix small quantities as you need them.
Baths & Skin Washes
Herbal baths and skin washes can relieve many conditions, including aching limbs and stuffy sinuses.
They are made from diluted essential oils or infusions.
Eyebaths soothe sore, inflamed, or irritated eyes.
Cold Macerations
Heat destroys the active constituents of some herbs.
Thus, a cold maceration might be more appropriate than a decoction.
Juices
The juices extracted from many herbs.
Can be taken internally or applied externally.

Angst duke au where reader ends up running away on her own accord. She’s got a wild spirit on the inside and it can’t be contained any longer. They already pay her no attention, nobody notices she’s left until half a month passes.
She finds a small, small village eventually and lives a cottagecore life collecting mushrooms and being showered in attention by a fellow villager (König) that spoils her rotten
Dukedom au masterlist
It happens without ceremony, just as quietly as you’ve lived these past months. You’ve given it enough thought to know this is what you want, but not so much as to paralyze yourself with doubt. There’s nothing left for you here- no affection, no companionship, no purpose. You’ve tried everything, haven’t you? Every word unsaid, every gesture rebuffed, every quiet hope dashed. If there’s nothing here but loneliness, then it’s time to seek something else. If you stay here any longer, you know you will rot away, unloved and unwanted.
And so, you leave with only a satchel. A plain cloak, a coin pouch, and a few essentials- the duchy’s wealth was never truly yours, and you feel no guilt leaving it behind. The manor is dark when you pass through its cold halls one last time, its silence now strangely soothing.
No one stirs as you open one of the less used back doors, no one watches as you step out into the cool night air. The gravel crunches beneath your feet as you make your way down the long road leading away from the estate, and you don’t look back. Not once.
You don’t keep track of how long you walk, only that the world seems to grow softer, warmer, with every step you take. You hadn’t even noticed how much life had been sucked out of you until you’ve left.
The grand estates and meticulous gardens of the duchy fade into rolling hills and dense forests. Villages dot the landscape here and there, but you don’t linger in any of them. You’re not looking for a crowd or a bustling town. You want quiet. Solitude. A place where you can breathe and exist without being watched or judged or resented.
It’s tiresome weeks before you find it: a tiny village nestled at the foot of a forest. It’s so small you almost miss it, hidden away among the trees and wildflowers, but when you step onto the dirt path leading into the cluster of cottages, you feel something you haven’t felt in years-
Peace.
The villagers are kind in a way that catches you off guard. They greet you with smiles even despite your messy appearance, not because they’re obligated to, but because they seem genuinely pleased to see you.
An older woman tuts at the state of you and offers you warm, fresh bread from her oven, sitting you down in her home. A farmer waves as you pass by. No one stares too long or whispers behind their hands. No one asks intrusive questions. It’s such a sharp contrast to the stifling scrutiny of the duchy, and it makes you realize how much you’ve craved this simplicity.
And so, you finally decide to stay.
You find work with the herbalist, a quiet, weathered man who doesn’t seem to mind your silence. He gives you tasks to complete- gathering herbs, organizing his jars- and pays you a small wage that’s enough to rent a modest little cottage at the edge of the woods. It’s a humble place with a thatched roof and a creaky wooden floor, but it feels like yours. It is yours.
You spend your mornings walking through the forest, learning which mushrooms are safe to pick and which plants have medicinal properties, books always ready to be cracked open, and your evenings curled up in front of the fire, your legs tucked beneath you as the light flickers across the walls. The herbalist and the old woman are friends, unsurprisingly for such a cozy village, and they tell you stories of their lives. Simple lives, yet so precious and fulfilling.
Your body, too, begins to change. The gaunt, hollow look you wore in the duchy fades as your cheeks fill out again, as your muscles grow stronger from the work. Your skin takes on a golden hue from the sun, and your eyes, once dull and lifeless, begin to sparkle with something new- contentment. The old woman even pats your cheeks, priding herself on constantly doing her best to fatten you up.
It’s a lovely life, you truly. And then something quite unexpected happens.
You meet König on one of your forest walks.
You had only heard of him- everyone told you he isn’t one to socialize much even if he is the forester of the village, simply does his job and prefers his solitude. Yet, you still end up meeting him.
He’s crouched among the trees, examining a patch of wildflowers when you almost stumble over him. You let out a startled yelp, and he rises so quickly you take a step back, craning your neck to meet his gaze. He’s huge- taller than any man you’ve ever met, even Duke Riley- with broad shoulders and an intensity that makes him seem more a part of the forest than a mere visitor.
Though perhaps, you think, that could be because of his work?
He speaks softly, his voice low, as he apologizes for startling you. His accent is unfamiliar, his words slightly awkward, as though he’s unused to speaking at all but you don’t mind.
You smile to reassure him, your heart still fluttering in your chest, and the way his blue eyes soften makes something inside you twist. How silly of you, such ridiculous thoughts.
König offers to walk you back to the village as an apology, insists on it, and though you’ve been perfectly fine on your own, you accept. There’s something… soothing about his presence, about the way he towers beside you but keeps a careful distance as if afraid to overwhelm you. When you part ways, you (dejectedly) think it’s the last you’ll see of him, but you’re wrong.
König starts appearing more and more often.
At first, it’s small things: helping you carry a heavy basket, pointing out a hidden patch of mushrooms you might have missed, but it quickly becomes clear to everyone except you that he’s seeking you out on purpose. He’s awkward about it, clearly unused to conversation, but he tries. And every time you see him, he brings something with him.
Never before have you had such attention dotted on you, and you… love it. You adore König, truly, and all the little gifts he brings with him.
A carved figurine of a fox, whittled from wood with painstaking care that you place on your bedside. A bundle of freshly picked berries, their juices staining his hands, a day after you told him you quite like berries. A bouquet of wildflowers that matches your favorites so perfectly you wonder if he’s been watching you.
If he is, you don’t mind.
Truthfully, you tell yourself it’s nothing at first. Just a kind villager being neighborly. But König doesn’t treat anyone else like this and even the herbalist and the old lady say so, hiding their smiles.
It’s only you who he looks at with those soft, steady eyes. Only you he lingers near, his massive frame somehow gentle as he helps you with whatever task you’re doing.
And so to no one’s surprise, over time, the relationship between you deepens into something far more precious and tender:
König listens to you in a way no one ever has. He hangs onto every word as if you’ve hung the stars, his gaze fixed on you as though you’re the most important thing in the world, in his world. He asks about your day, about your thoughts, and eventually, about your life; and when you tell him about the life you left behind, his jaw tightens, and his hands curl into fists. When they loosen, his hands hover for a few seconds before he gently cups your face, callouses thumbs rubbing the soft skin under your eyes.
“You deserve better,” he tells you, his voice quiet but firm. “I hope this… village gives you happiness.”
You don’t respond, but your heart aches with a feeling you can’t quite name. You give me happiness, König. More than anyone ever has.
He spoils you in ways you never thought possible, and gives you the steady, unwavering presence of someone who genuinely cares. It’s overwhelming at first, this constant, undivided attention, but you find yourself softening to it, leaning into it, _craving_ it.
For the first time in years, you feel seen. You feel wanted.
The life you’ve built here is nothing like the one you left behind. It’s smaller, quieter, but it’s yours. You wake each morning to the chirping of birds and fall asleep each night to the distant rustle of trees, and both times, you have warm and secure arms that wrap around you in the coziest embrace. Kisses trailing up the nape of your neck, a soft voice whispering vows of adoration into you skin.
The duchy, John, Kyle, Johnny, Simon- they feel like ghosts now, distant figures from a life that doesn’t belong to you anymore. You don’t know if they’ve noticed your absence, if they’ve felt the sting of your silence, but…
You don’t care. Let them wonder. Let them regret. You’ve found your freedom, your happiness, and you’re never looking back.
To be loved is to exist, and you understand that now.
