I couldn’t decide between Sam or Dean (it’s the bibroism), so I did a quote between the two of them. This was kind of a big undertaking for my first real graphic/first actual use of “photoshop" (well, photopea), but I had this idea in my head and it insisted on being done. Obviously, collage and double exposure are some of my favorite art forms. More details, image descriptions, and credits under the cut.

All of these images were made with a double-exposure blending technique and collage. Each of these 12 images are made up of 2-5 screencaps layered together with varying opacity, with a primarily blue-red-green color scheme. For the most part, blue/light-green are for Sam and red/dark-green are for Dean.

Most screencaps were sourced from homeofthenutty.com/supernatural/screencaps/, except for two used in the last image, which were sourced from kissthemgoodbye.net/supernatural/ .

Okay. May I just say that I hated how House treated Wilson at the end of "Small Sacrifices"? All Wilson wanted was to be comforted by House after Sam dumped him... and House couldn't be bothered to do that because Cuddy was coming over. He chose Cuddy over his best friend. Personally, I would've chosen my best friend.

Could I then also ask, since you say that most main characters are inhumanly strong, agile and fast, could you do some of these too? Like, Rapunzel, Cassandra and Varian also have moments where they are shown to be extremly strong. Could you also do some screencaps of them?

Hmm... Varian, not so much. I'm thinking back on him and his scenes, and he's not really ever shown to be particularly strong.

And for the record, I didn't make any of these screencaps. I got them from @tenshichan1013 or kissthemgoodbye.net. Both of those are excellent sources for Tangled the Series screencaps.

With Rapunzel, I'll start from the very beginning.

Daily hauls someone who weighs more than her seventy feet into the air, and back down again.

This is a cast iron skillet. Cast iron is very heavy, and she's tossing it around like it's nothing.

And it works better when you see it in motion, but when Eugene is swinging across the gorge, headed straight for the Stabbingtons, she yanks on her hair, which is already wrapped around a rock for support, and manages to pull him out of their reach.

She fights gravity and Lance's weight to keep him from falling off a cliff.

She can easily support Eugene and Vigor's weight at the same time while she, herself, is suspended. (Note, she also caught him mid-fall.)

Before Eugene picked him up, Rapunzel was effortlessly dragging Hook Foot away from the drexis.

And all of that is stuff she's done with her muscles. Yeah, when she was lifting Gothel on the daily, she had a fulcrum, but it wasn't a complex one.

Oh, she's also fast.

Here, she's outpacing were-Ruddiger. This isn't the only time she's shown running faster than something she had no right to, but this is the first time, and I can't offhand remember what the other times were.

And I'm not going to lie: While Cassandra is canonically strong, I don't have any particular times memorized - especially pre-black rock suit - where she displays feats of strength that made me go, "Whoa." That doesn't mean they don't exist, it means I didn't focus on them or memorize them. But you can look through those two links at the top of the post if you want to try to find examples for yourself.

Lancelot the Sneaky

I’m re-watching Season 1, and I just realized...

Lancelot starts the episode on foot, wearing, peasant clothes, and carrying a sword.

He ends it riding off on a horse, with a suit of mixed plate and chain armor, complete with helm and cloak.

That shit ain’t cheap, friends.

I found a neat writeup of armor types and costs, including this:

Since many historians use the infantry's salary of the time as a reference to estimate the cost of armor in monthly wages, we suggest using a similar means of assessment. According to open sources, a US Army corporal earns about $30,000 a year, which gives us a monthly wage of $2,500. Now, this means that depending on the type, quality, place of manufacture, and finishing, a set of XV century plate armor would cost from $8,000 to $40,000 or more. At the same time, a simple set of armor for a regular foot soldier, especially if some obsolete pieces of equipment were used, could cost around $2,000 — but a good one would still be somewhere near $4,000 and more. 

But. 

When we talk about this price range, we still mean one of the most numerous parts of the armies — men-at-arms — ordinary soldiers, not the true elite, though their status allowed them to be referred to as “gentlemen”. By definition, those who fought in full plate armor were called 'men at arms', while a knight is a person granted an honorary title of knighthood by a political leader. And the price difference between the regular men-at-arms’ plate armor and knight’s plate armor is huge! It can be compared with a difference between a regular modern business suit and a modern exclusive designer limited edition bespoke business suit. Such armor was made to order by renowned armorers, and, as a rule, had decals and decorations, even if we are talking about combat, not ceremonial armor, and its cost converted by the above mentioned method was in the range of $100,000 to $250,000.

So Lance basically got away with Felony Theft (not to mention Grand Theft Horse) when he rode off into the sunset.

Suddenly his ending up becoming a cage fighter* makes a lot more sense.

* This is also why I wrote Lance as ex-SAS in the untitled epic. He’s definitely got a “whatever it takes to get the job done” attitude.

I think Cassandra doesn’t realize how serious Rapunzel is about everything but Rapunzel finds the fun in all that she does. She had to or the tower would have been a lot worse for her. 

To Cassandra and lots of people Rapunzel looks just like a flightily princess that does things on a lark, like leaving the kingdom, joining Challenge of the Brave, the science exposition, and all the things she does to help make people in the kingdom happy. 

I think Cassandra wants Rapunzel to be more serious about serious things. She wants to see Rapunzel’s game face huh?
