HMMM. ive been sitting on this and pondering. and ... kinda?

but the thing to me about tim, his feelings for kon, and his bisexual realizations, is that they are all tied up in one big tangled knot. he's been in love with kon for years without realizing it; he had a crush on kon in his yj days (guy who is constantly going "what is kon's opinion of me. i need kon to respect me and likeys me and think i'm a good leader. for normal reasons" ok tim), but even after he eventually figures out he's bi, he doesn't realize that that's what he felt for kon, because that crush has developed over the years into full-blown adoration, and he... uh... didn't notice.

like, by the time kon dies and tim goes off the deep end and tries to clone him 99 times, tim is head over heels. it's just that tim has not noticed that he's in love with kon at all. to him, it's just - this is normal, right? he has a huge depth of feelings for his best friend, and that's how he's always felt about kon. when he thought he was going to die on apokolips, he just wished he could have reconciled with kon. that's normal for him. that's baseline. right? this is a normal way for a guy to feel about his best friend. and yeah, tim is bisexual, but after ives he just kind of doesn't really seriously date any other guys, because, like... he could, and maybe he goes on a single date here or there, but there's always this little thought in the back of his head that, like, none of the other guys he meets are as hot and funny and smart and kind as kon. man, guess having a best friend who's a 12/10 really just sets his standards high, huh?

like i just think tim's feelings for kon are such a huge part of his life for so long that the actual nature of them and the depth of them kinda just creeps up on him. it happens so gradually and is such a deep and abiding love by the time they're adults that he doesn't notice for a long time. because he's always adored kon, and by the time kon died and came back, tim already knew he loved him so so so much that living in a world without him felt unbearable. the fact that that love turned romantic somewhere along the line? he has no idea!!! he doesn't even know he's bisexual when that happens, so he's just so used to that being "how he feels about kon, his boy best friend" that he takes forever to realize he is, in fact, in love with him.

but yeah eventually he does put together that, ah, he has been into kon for an embarrassingly long time. without noticing. oop! he's going to go sit on a rooftop and brood and wonder if anyone else noticed before he did (most people who know him did).

I think what’s so important to me with MiShanks, and honestly all my favorite ships, is that they are friends. Underneath it all they are just two dudes that like spending time together that have fun together whether they are fighting, fucking or just talking. The don’t just love each other they genuinely like the other as well despite all the terse words (mostly on Mihawk’s side). It’s why they can fall into step so seamlessly even after 10 years apart. They’ve known each other forever and they have fun together they always will. I just….

Like what even is the point if Shanks doesn’t look at Mihawk and remeber the boy he was? If Mihawk doesn’t look at Shanks and feel the years wash away like coats of his shoulders. (My own quirks demand I write up a "generic" blade beast, so what better way to start publishing these? Of note, the headlessness was a near-unifying design element from the start; at the time I didn't know why it felt right, but with maturity and hindsight I think it adds a depersonalization that really resonates with the theme of a person that's also a weapon.)

Espites are the simplest form of blade beasts, with a beast form that resembles a small metal cat with no head and a long tail ending in a blade. They are almost unconditionally devoted to their wielder and master, but can prove rather chatty, often voicing their opinion (generally fondness for combat or their master) unprompted. This devotion can cause issues, however; an espite will sometimes act in what it thinks are its wielder's best interests, and while they can be helpful, they also have a tendency to resort to clumsy threats of violence and to assume the worst of everyone but their wielder. As an espite ages and becomes more powerful, however, they grow wiser and more helpful and capable of restraining themselves, although they still tend to keep others at an arm's length.

Young, weak espites are often found by children. Most often, they show up in spaces and cultures where children are trained in combat, such as militant cities or nomadic tribes in dangerous lands, though it is not unheard of for the children of farmers and scholars to show up one day with an espite in tow. Typically, this is the start of a lifelong bond; the espite and its wielder will grow and train together, and often exceed their peers in combat. It is unclear if it is the presence of an espite that leads youths to military might, or if espites have some intuition that allows them to seek out youths with potential.

A spellcaster of level 7 or higher and any alignment with the Improved Familiar feat can take an Espite as a familiar. If they do, they are proficient with its weapon form, but not with other longswords, greatswords, or shortswords. Espite familiars can not be modified or advanced.

I mentioned this a loooong long time ago, historically speaking nobles can have personal knights assigned to them and that is the case with knight suguru!!!!!! He's supposed to be a bodyguard basically,,,,,,but obviously it doesn't stop there.
