i don't wanna complain so much about school but im getting way too uncomfortable abt this dude in my class 💀

Apart from slamming the door open, Susie entered the classroom rather calmy (that is— she wasn’t yelling or making a fuss. She just asked if she was late)
#susie is so very clearly one of those students who tried when they were little but quickly learned the school system did not care#and the fact that she lives in poverty in that tiny town does not help#like. if she actually has a family and isn’t homeless then those parents are constantly working to pay bills and debts and things#so there not around. and then she has like no support save for any teacher that tries to help her#and while toriel would absolutely help her toriel teaches the little kids#alphys is the only other teacher shown in the building and she’s terrified of susie she’s not going to try to connect with her#and then bc it’s a rinky-dink tiny school in a tiny ass town there’s not a lot of funding for it either#so the teachers don’t even have the materials they need and there’s not enough teachers and no after school programs#except any clubs that are completely student organized and that would just be like a dnd club or a book club where all they need is a table#and even then those might be forced to relocate to the library bc the school might just close after the day#bc there’s no extracurriculars and they can’t pay for an after school childcare program#and bc she’s ‘different’ susie would be kinda forced out of any spaces where the other students spend time bc they give her the side eye#and expect her to be bad bc she’s failing the class and in their eyes surely that is Morally Bad#and her clothes are sometimes dirty and sometimes just worn out and so they think she’s weird and ignore her#and any adults that see her like a librarian would be able to tell what’s ‘weird’ about her that the kids can’t seem to name (she’s poor)#but they see her struggling or trying to get any sort of attention and even if they can see what’s wrong they just brush it off#as ‘not my problem to fix her bad manners’#or ‘poor kid. surely someone will come along that can help her’#and then do nothing!! the entire town does nothing! susie was let down by the entirety o#of the town!!#and im not sure where im going rambling like this but can you tell that i love susie very much and want to give this poor kid the world#susie deltarune#deltarune#liveblogging

Or staying with a family member on their trailer next to a lake. Or hitching a ride with their parents with their someplace they had already planned on going and paying for food and minigolf (why is it always minigolf?), or renting the cheapest RV for a weekend to go to the ocean, etc.
Also, poor people can save money. Some poor people save money for vacations. That's something they're allowed to do.
Okay, I completely understand that getting time off work can be a Sisyphean ordeal these days, but every time I run into the whole "only rich people go on vacation" discourse I'm thinking surely I'm not the only one whose childhood experience of "going on vacation" was piling everybody into the car and driving for six hours to pay twenty dollars a day for the privilege of setting up some leaky tents on a fifty-foot-by-fifty-foot patch of dirt next to a mosquito-infested pond in a "private campground" whose only standout features were a. an outdoor miniature golf course that hadn't been maintained in twenty years, and b. a truly breathtaking fire ant population.
#my grandparents drove truck most of the yeae#*year#they owned a trailer and a boat space and a boat#that's the only thing they had to pay for year-round besides taxes#and they'd take my sister and i up a lot#and sometimes my mom could come#not usually my dad though#and my other gparents would save up to take the family to a private lake for a week#everyone would chip in whatever they could#and the adults usually only stayed the weekend#and my parents saved the whole year to take my sister and i to florida where we stayed with my mom's parents wherever they were staying#we hung out and went to the beach and played minigolf#and because of that these people would think my family is rich despite the fact that at the time my parents were struggling to put food on#the table#(they went into more debt whenever we had our one week vacation)#(oh btw my parents mostly only paid for gas for the drive down and back)#like???#poor people don't have to suffer every day of the year

Played some oni on the home computer and holy shit it's a magical feeling playing oni on a computer that isn't constantly shitting itself
#rat rambles#oni posting#also Im finally starting to get more into space travel with bionic dupes and I have mixed feelings on it#on the one hand I very much enjoy them not needing food nor even a bed which saves space#but on the other hand the bathroom situation is lowkey kinda dire#theres just plainly no good options for dealing with their gunk they all come with major downsides#and worse of all is that actually using the gunk extractor is quite possibly the least appealing option to me#its not undoable but without rocket melting it just takes up So much space#because you cant just have a gunk extractor you also need to pipe that gunk somewhere#and you cant pipe it out in space so you have to build either a storage tank or a bottler#neither of which are ideal for different reasons#normal rocket toilets are still on the table along with out houses but they will require constant emptying#which isnt too big of a deal if theyre not doing a whole lot but its still not ideal#plus if you wanna have a whole crew of bionic dupes youll be putting a lot of stress onto that working out for you#if you want to do a whole crew your best bet is probably having a few outhouses but its hard for me to say that with confidence#the plus side of not needing a mess hall or barracks is notable though#even if it can be a bit of a moral hit#Ive been using that extra space to make a mini rec room but I imagine you could fit in other stuff#such as liquid storage for gunk extractors but again even then its still limited#as in literally its limited storage that itself will need to be emptied#and bottle emptiers dong just empty themselves youre going to have to manually manage that shit#but its not actually That big of a problem its just a kind of annoying one for more ambitious large scale trips#again primarily for when you have a whole crew flying out cause gunk extractors take up a Lot of space#also for a crew I imagine the power bank situation starts to get awkward#Im currently just packing a few eco banks and having the one recharger since its just the pilot going out#but for a proper crew youd probably want to have more than you technically need#gear balm is another thing you have to pack but that one isnt a big of a headache given you have gunk to spare#and conidering Ive been using lubrication stations for ages now I am very much good on gunk#but I imagine theres going to be cases where you dont have easy oil access and really dont have the gunk to spare#but for now Im feeling mildly annoyed with bionic dupe space travel but otherwise am enjoying the perks of not needing food

i want to clean my apartment so fucking bad rn but i just. i tried to get started on the dishes ona ccount of wanting that extra counter space and all motivation vanished. tried to move a trashbag so i wont have to deal with a smell and gross garbagebag while im trying to clean and i just looked at it and went fuck that. i have no idea how or where to start cus i keep forgetting about the three things i think will actually help and one of them is a prerequisite to me taking a shower so it has to be done regardless of whether i want to or not.
i have one corner of my room, would be nice to finally clear it out and be able to use it for storage or something actually useful. the chairs are super in the way rn and need to be dusted too. i have some drawers in the bathroom that i need to clean in there since they wont fit in the sink. and its all just sitting there being agonizing cus i cant make myself get started on any of it
