a lil hurt/comfort Vamp!Lian drabble and a spicy lil doodle for u, my lovely 🫶

Xie Lian stumbled into Paradise Manor, letting out a weary sigh. Today had been a rough day; he'd felt lightheaded and irritable all day, not to mention how it had felt like his stomach had been clenching in pain.

But, no matter; he was home now, and he was moments away from seeing Hua Cheng.

And, sure enough, sitting upon the black jade divan in the main hall, was Hua Cheng, and the moment the ghost noticed him, he smiled.

"Gege, you're home?" He grinned, getting up and walking over to his lover, and Xie Lian smiled too, starting to nod. But, all of the sudden, a heavy wave of dizziness overcame him, and he stumbled into Hua Cheng's arms, already there to catch him.

"Gege!" He exclaimed, sounding worried. "Are you okay? What's wrong? Did anything happen to you today?"

"No...?" Xie Lian responded weakly, trying to take deep breaths and ignore the feeling of weakness in his legs and the pangs in his stomach. Hua Cheng carefully led him to the divan, setting him down upon the plush cushions, and he gazed worriedly at him. All of the sudden, he realised something, and he leaned forward slightly.

"Gege... Have you eaten anything recently?" He asked, and Xie Lian felt a pang of both guilt and hunger in his stomach as he shook his head slowly.

"Here," Hua Cheng said, loosening his robes and sliding them down. "Gege should eat something."

Xie Lian leaned forward and placed a few soft, gentle kisses along the side of Hua Cheng's neck before his fangs peeked out, and quick as a flash, he buried them in the ghost's skin. Hua Cheng's breathing didn't even hitch as Xie Lian bit him, and he stroked the vampire's hair as Xie Lian fed from him.

"Gege knows he needs not worry about taking too much; take as much as you need, beloved," he murmured, placing a hand over Xie Lian's that was resting on his chest. He rubbed his thumb over the back of Xie Lian's hand comfortingly, and Xie Lian's fingers trembled as they gripped the fabric of Hua Cheng's sumptuous robes.

After a while, Xie Lian pulled back, finished with eating, and he grabbed a soft cloth out of his sleeves, carefully wiping away the blood on Hua Cheng's skin before kissing it softly. As his lips touched Hua Cheng's skin, the small bite marks healed quick as a flash, and Xie Lian whispered, "Thank you."

"Gege need not thank me," Hua Cheng responded, shaking his head. "You know I'm always willing to do this for you. I just wish you'd allow me to help you more often."

"... I'm sorry," he whispered as Hua Cheng gazed sadly at him. "I... I'm trying to get better about it."

"I know you are," Hua Cheng responded, kissing his forehead, "And I'm so proud of you for it. I just don't want to see my beloved suffering and starving himself out of a habit he never should have formed."

"I just..." Xie Lian gazed down at his pale, pale hands. Even against Hua Cheng's, as a ghost, Xie Lian's skin was almost unnaturally white. "I just... I always feel like such a monster for... For feeding off of other creatures like that. When I was roaming the world before I had you, I... I would feel so hungry all the time. I would see a bunny or a fox or a wolf, and I would want to feed so badly, but... I couldn't bring myself to harm an innocent creature like that."

"I know," Hua Cheng whispered, wiping away a tear Xie Lian hadn't even noticed was falling down his cheek. "I know gege wouldn't. I know you're not a monster; the very fact that you refused to let yourself do those things proves that you aren't. But gege shouldn't torture himself and treat himself as if he's a horrible monster because of something as simple as needing to eat."

"B-But it's different! I-"

"It's not," Hua Cheng responded, shaking his head. "Are you going to say that a wolf is a monster because it needs to kill and eat a rabbit to survive? How is that any different from a rabbit needing to eat grass, or a bird needing to eat bugs? Don't treat yourself terribly because you need to eat something unconventional."

At that, Xie Lian burst out with a wet laugh, and he gazed up at Hua Cheng.

"San Lang, it's far more than just unconventional to feed on blood, and you know it," he replied, and Hua Cheng merely smiled at him, kissing him softly.

"My sweet husband, you know I love you no matter what," he murmured. "Whether you're a vampire or a ghost, a god or a human, a yao or a demon; you've always been the love of my life and afterlife, and nothing will change that. You'll always have me by your side."

Xie Lian smiled unbearably fondly at that, wiping away his tears with a laugh, and Hua Cheng chuckled softly as the vampire pulled him in for a kiss.

"Plus," Hua Cheng murmured with a grin, "I like when gege bites me. I'd rather have your fangs on me and no other creature. Gege is my darling vampire and no one else's."

At that, Xie Lian spluttered and yelped in embarrassment, and he fell back on the divan as Hua Cheng laughed heartily.

Hua Cheng is a ghost in this? Yes. Do ghosts have blood? I don't fuckin know. Do I care? Not really, because my ass couldn't think of what Hua Cheng could've been otherwise 🤷‍♂️

Xie Lian gazed around at the luxurious main hall of Paradise Manor, astounded by how expensive everything looked, and he turned to Hua Cheng with a smile.

"It's seems that Hua-Chengzhu truly is the wealthiest among the wealthy, to have such a sumptuous manor filled with so many rarities."

Hua Cheng shrugged with an attempt at indifference, but Xie Lian could see the glint of pride and joy in his eye.

"It's really nothing, Gege. Many of those things are but playthings and toys anyways, nothing of value."

Xie Lian couldn't help but laugh at that. Only someone so absurdly wealthy like Hua Cheng could make such a statement!!

"Mm, would San Lang mind showing me around his manor? I'd love to see what sort of house the infamous Crimson Rain Sought Flower resides in."

Hua Cheng chuckled and grinned, and he got up off of the divan, smiling at Xie Lian with a hand outstretched.

"Follow me, Gege."

Hua Cheng walked through the manor, pointing out the different smaller buildings and rooms. He showed him the library, with its shelves so tall that they could barely be seen from the ground. He showed him the courtyard, with its towering trees and fragrant flowers, butterflies flitting around them on delicate wings and koi swimming in the pond with their long, flowing fins. He showed him countless things in Paradise Manor, and Xie Lian admired and complimented them all.

But, as they were walking through the halls, something stood out to Xie Lian, and he stopped in his tracks.

"San Lang, who made this piece?" He asked, admiring a painting. It was a beautiful landscape depicting a field of flowers, mountains towering in the background, contrasting with the blue sky. "Such masterful use of colour, and such realism with so few strokes!! Whoever painted this must be a true grandmaster of the brush, who practiced for many years!"

At this, Hua Cheng was silent for a moment, and Xie Lian turned back towards him with confusion.

Hua Cheng was staring silently at him, his cheeks and the tips of his pointed ears tinged pink, and his expression was something that could really only be described as suppressed bashfulness. Xie Lian blinked at the sight; he'd never seen Hua Cheng look so shy!

"Does Gege think so?" Hua Cheng responded in a small voice, a small, soft smile on his lips. "This one thanks Gege for such high praise."

Xie Lian stood there for a second before he realised what Hua Cheng said, and he gasped softly.

"San Lang made this?!"

"Mn. I've always had an appreciation for the arts."

"San Lang truly is amazing!! With the best luck and the best looks, a master of the sword and the tongue, and able to manipulate a brush so flawlessly, is there even anything you can't do?"

As Xie Lian spoke, Hua Cheng's face grew pinker and pinker, bordering on red, and he gave a trembling little laugh as he turned his face away.

"Gege is too kind..." He mumbled, sound unbearably embarrassed and flattered, and Xie Lian laughed.

Who knew it was so easy to fluster the Ghost King!

hey you should learn to crochet I think you’ll like it better than sewing

My 12 year old sister actually crochets, so I've seen quite a bit about it! It's crazy seeing someone who knows how to crotchet doing it because how tf you that fast and you don't even look at it sometimes?!?! 😭 I have a crotchet dragon plush I got from a con about a year ago and I am fucking bamBOOZLED at how people make shit like that like ⁉️

I don't know if I'd want to do it though because it just doesn't seem exactly my vibe with how I express myself creatively! I prefer sewing by hand because even if it takes a long time and it's not perfect, I feel like I've done it all on my own, and it feels very relaxing to me to have like a LOTR marathon on or smth while I sew a plushie for a few hours! The repetitive movements are super soothing to me and the way I can manipulate the fabric is so fun, and it takes my mind off of other things.

But ofc each to their own! Crochet seems really fun, but IDK if it's for me 😅
