Gooseberry: came to rapture with her father. father is still a dentist, dr. futterman probably died in an accident or due to over splicing.

phylis worked in the little sister's orphanage, does puppetshows for them. due to cocaine, splicing and the death of her father, went a liittttle crazy. :3 still makes the puppet of her father and has the whole split personality deal. face is still ruined due to the welts, sagging and deformity that comes with the splicing.

coyle: came to rapture with his wife. (probably kills her in an spliced up state, mania or something) 100% has the electricity plasmid, because obviously, electricity right at his fingertips, he'd be all over that. still a cop or constable in rapture, the privately owned ones that people in rapture have to pay for to get their help. he definitely extorts money out of people/businesses that way ofc ofc

franco: came to rapture with his father and step mother, franco still probably gets freaky with his step mom like in canon and his father probably kills her and gives her a good ol' burial at sea. maybe his father ran the smuggling operation until one day was ambushed by splicers and killed,

franco runs the smuggling and plasmids from then on? idk where fontaine would fit in all this dont ask me

I really love your writing, could you share what is your process? Any tips for someone who is quite new at it? Has it always been so easy to write such long chapters?

I wish I could give you a clear process but my method of madness is probably something other folk go "OMG me too!!!!" Or "wtf are you doing?.?? Don't do that!"

Either way, all I can say is...

1. Write for yourself. Like, honestly, the support you gain and comment-folk who spur you on are honestly unsung hero's, but sit your ass down and write that tale for yourself. Idk why but if I think of pleasing others when writing my brain turns off so i'm all: don't like, don't read - fuck off.

[Then you find out people like what you like and wrote and suddenly those who are unknowingly encouraging you to write with their enthusiasm are e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g]

2. Word vomit - I think my chapters are long (but they dont feel long to me? Yet your not the first to say that to me haha) because I literally spew on a word doc everything that I've day dreamed or written briefly on my phones note app when something hit me, including alternative routes/plots or scenes. This means I have A LOT of things that don't get used or I think doesnt "fit right" for the focus and this probably is time wasteful and messy but it works for me because I got the ✨️Meat Grinder✨️ meets ✨️Shou Tucker Method. ✨️

[Note: all those scenes, dialogue lines, unused or ill-fitting things created from word vomit get shoved aside into a doc called the Meat Grinder aka they are there for other fics or later chapters. It is there they get minced up and, like a certain FMA bad daddy with a dog a kiddo, I'll splice them together into another chapter/fic aka The Shou Tucker Method.

3. Drip drip drip, embrace senses, and screw expectation - don't stress about feeding everyone information at once, give enough to set scenes or help readers see what that dorky fellow your wtiting about is doing or wearing, but everything else can be drip fed because life likes to lure us down alleyways as opposed to give us a intruction manual.

I think my chapters are long because I'm an oddball who gets a bit hyper focused on senses beyond sight - touch/texture, smell, taste - and even how your body responds to certain things. Then again I'm a sensory weirdo who spends too much time in my head and makes Anakin Skywalker's hatred of sand look mild. I get this can be overkill though? So... eh.

Thats why you screw expectation. Write with your voice (or get into the charscters dummy head), format how you wish (unless you want feedback and someone goes wtf this formatting is killing me mate stahhhhp!) And let yourself allow others to be immersed into the rambles you create.

"they’re doing that with humans and Kandahar/Gilgamesh dna" what does this Mean

I had a whole long thing all typed out but the app refreshed and I lost it all. Let’s see how much I can redo.

It’s a pretty fun rabbit hole to go down.

The fact that the technology exists to take an extant species like a wolf and successfully splice in genes from an extinct genetically similar but physically superior species to bring out those traits in a living organism, would create the possibility that the process could be applied to humans, if tissue samples from such a physically superior humanoid species could be acquired.

The US military has reportedly recovered the bodies of at least two superhumans. The first being the body of the legendary GiIgamesh from his tomb that was discovered in Iraq shortly before the invasion (coincidence?), and the second being the body of the polydactyl giant from the Kandahar province of Afghanistan who was killed after attacking American soldiers who approached his mountain cave looking for TaIiban. I’ve heard of at least two more demigod bodies, of RomuIus and 0siris iirc, but without as many corroborating accounts.

During the whole Hilary email server fiasco an email was discovered that mentioned GiIgamesh by name. Putin once said he was more worried about supersoldiers than nukes. Other Russian officials have claimed to have captured genetically augmented enemy soldiers in Ukr aine. Grains of salt etc etc but those data points exist.

If you want to bring in eschatoIogical speculation, the figure described in Revelation 17:8,11 who “once was, now is not, and yet will come” could be Gilgamesh, who some identify as the biblical Nimrod, who is described as having “began to be a gibborim(mighty man) on the earth” That italicized term is first used in reference to the half-human/angel hybrid nephilim race from Genesis 6 and the conquest of Canaan, which is presumably where a demigod giant like Gilgamesh would have somehow inherited such traits from.

Then there’s the possible interpretation/implication of Matthew 24:37 “As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.” Some take the angle that these two most severe instances of divine judgment on earth are both precipitated by genetic manipulation to corrupt the human genome and turn humanity into something other. That would circle back around to the very first temptation, to “be like the gods” and would give some pretty interesting implications/context for Revelation 9:6, “During those days people will seek death but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.” It could be that the Mark includes a genetic enhancement of angelic/hybrid dna. In a perverse counterfeit of the Gospel, the son of the Dragon gives his blood(gene therapy) to supposedly save/elevate humanity, but really he’s just trying to steal the human birthright of dominion over the earth and turn people into weapons to fight the armies of heaven with at the last battle.

Wacky crazy stuff that could definitely be way off in any number of areas, but it’s one way to fit some of these breadcrumbs together.

no piano today. i'm tired. but i did read more of sweet bean paste and continued to work on the databases course. today was a bit chaotic, so i couldn't get 2h of studying in, but if i sleep early, i can maybe hopefully wake up earlier to work on it.

tried to play piano but then stopped because i got tired sooner than i expected. (also tried out a voice recorder app to record the piano audio instead of my phone camera but didn't like it...too much treble.) i finished 1 subsection of the databases course. caught up with @zzzzzestforlife. listened to some lofi and watched some youtube.

i'm trying to get myself in the mood to prep for the upcoming school year 😮‍💨 i...find myself dreading more and more each coming school year for some reason. ... it's not the work i fear. i know i can do it well but it takes so much of me. and i wonder what i'm doing this for. because i don't have all the stepping stones laid out yet. 😮‍💨 i need to work on that, so i'm going to sleep now so i can have more energy to continue doing this tomorrow. good night.

i had a much more ambitious plan originally, but the only solo activity i actually had time and energy for was journaling because coming back to my hometown reminded me of and clarified some memories and opinions i had formed long ago, how they've shaped who i am now... the rest of the time i spent with family with real conversation for the first time in a while, so that was nice.

sigh. i have never felt like i belonged in my former hometown and the loneliness is striking much stronger now. i was so tired i couldn't do much today except start filling in the YearCompass because who said the new year had to begin in january lol. i'm glad today was a chill day spent at my temporary home.

i will try to sleep early tonight. hopefully i won't wake up in between and be unable to fall back asleep again.

today was my first day of passable sleep quality in the last couple days. i woke up later than i expected. yet i still didn't feel like doing anything. i forced myself to do some duolingo for cheap dopamine, and later in the afternoon, i attempted to get through 1 more subsection of the databases course but couldn't focus. instead, i researched how to apply to take courses at another university in my area since there are some interesting courses there that aren't available at the one i attend. at night, i practiced the last bit of the clementi sonata and tried to record the whole thing but couldn't get a good one. i'm too tensed and distracted. i need to practice playing while relaxed, focusing only on what's relevant in the moment.

i don't even remember what happened. probably because i wasn't very productive. i was unusually angry and moody. i tried to record a single clean take and kept failing. i merely inched forward in the databases course. it was a day full of frustrating but necessary interruptions. it was tiring. i can't wait to go home.

I am loathe to admit that a writer’s block is over lest the illness come back to haunt me, or worse, people come to expect something of me when usually all I can give is crumbs from my note’s app… I have finally finished a rengiyuu fanfiction i started working on like, a year and a half ago? Okay, my brief exploration of various editing apps has proved more difficult than I thought it would be. CapCut was truly an excellent app that was useful for my studies and I cannot find anything free to the same caliber as it.

Video Star… eugh. I could not for the life of me figure out how to connect two videos side by side in it. (I don’t know the word for it… merge two videos into one long one?) It restricts you to choosing one video, then you can place clips inside of said video. However, you cannot exceed the timing of the initial video you selected, so you can only splice videos within each other. Which is Not Good, considering that’s what I have to do for most of my classes. (If any video star editors know what I’m talking about and know how to do this within the app, please let me know. I could have missed something)

Alight Motion is a great app at first glance. I was able to merge two videos into one seamlessly and even add effects if needed. However, I’m a stingy fuck and won’t pay premium, so I’m stuck with a giant watermark that is Not Professional for my academic endeavors.

I will resume my research at another point. I have a few more apps to try. But yeah, this whole CapCut situation is not very good for students and will affect our (or at least my) ability to produce the work needed for classes, amongst other things

Reading this may really save your time, privacy, and money! Reblog or share to spread awareness!

Folks often use software that’s expensive and sometimes even inferior because they don’t know there are alternatives. So to those unfamiliar: basically, free and open-source (FOSS) or "libre" software is free to use and anyone can access the original code to make their own version or work on fixing problems.

That does not mean anyone can randomly add a virus and give it to everyone—any respectable libre project has checks in place to make sure changes to the official version are good! Libre software is typically developed by communities who really care about the quality of the software as a goal in itself.

There are libre alternatives to many well-known programs that do everything an average user needs (find out more under the cut!) for free with no DRM, license keys, or subscriptions.

Using libre software when possible is an easy way to fight against and free yourself from corporate greed while actually being more convenient in many cases! If you need an app to do something, perhaps try searching online for things like:

open source [whatever it is]

Some Libre Software I Personally Enjoy…

LibreOffice

LibreOffice is an office suite, much like Microsoft Office. It includes equivalents for apps like Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, which can view and edit files created for those apps.

I can't say I've used it much myself yet. I do not personally like using office software except when I have to for school.

OpenShot

OpenShot Video Editor is, as the name suggests, a video editing program. It has industry-standard features like splicing, layering, transitions, and greenscreen.

I've only made one video with it so far, but I'm already very happy with it. I had already paid for a video editor (Cyberlink PowerDirector Pro), but I needed to reinstall it and I didn't remember how. Out of desperation, I searched up "FOSS video editor" and I'm so glad I did. There's no launcher, there's no promotion of other apps and asset packs—it's just a video editor with a normal installer.

GIMP

GNU Image Manipulation Program is an image editor, much like Photoshop. Originally created for Linux but also available for Windows and MacOS, it provides plenty of functionality for editing images. It is a bit unintuitive to learn at first, though.

I've used it to create and modify images for years, including logos, really bad traceover art, and Minecraft textures. It doesn't have certain advanced tech like AI paint-in, but it has served my purposes well and it might just work for yours!

(Be sure to go to Windows > Dockable Dialogs > Colors. I have no idea why that's not enabled by default.)

Audacity

Audacity is an audio editing program. It can record, load, splice, and layer audio files and apply effects to them.

Audacity is another program I've used for a long time. It is not designed to compose music, but it is great for podcasts, simple edits, and loading legacy MS Paint to hear cool noises.

7-Zip

7-Zip is a file manager and archive tool. It supports many archive types including ZIP, RAR, TAR, and its own format, 7Z. It can view and modify the contents of archives, encrypt and decrypt archives, and all that good stuff.

Personally, I use 7-Zip to look inside JAR files for Minecraft reasons. I must admit that its UI is ugly.

Firefox

Firefox is an internet browser, much like Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Safari. While browsers are free, many of them include tracking or other anti-consumer practices. For example, Google plans to release an update to Chromium (the base that most browsers are built from these days) that makes ad blockers less effective by removing the APIs they currently rely on.

Aside from fighting monopolies, benefits include: support for animated themes (the one in the picture is Purple Night Theme), good ad blockers forever, an (albeit hidden) compact UI option (available on about:config), and a cute fox icon.

uBlock Origin

As far as I know, uBlock Origin is one of the best ad blockers there is.

I was on a sketchy website with my brother, and he was using Opera GX's ad blocker. Much of the time when he clicked on anything, it would take us to a random sponsored page. I suggested that he try uBlock Origin, and with uBlock Origin, that didn't happen anymore.

Linux

Linux is a kernel, but the term is often used to refer to operating systems (much like Windows or MacOS) built on it. There are many different Linux-based operating systems (or "distros") to choose from, but apps made for Linux usually work on most popular distros. You can also use many normally Windows-only apps on Linux through compatibility layers like WINE.

I don't have all four of these, so the images are from Wikipedia. I tried to show a variety of Linux distros made for different kinds of users.

If you want to replace your operating system, I recommend being very careful because you can end up breaking things. Many computer manufacturers don't care about supporting Linux, meaning that things may not work (Nvidia graphic cards notoriously have issues on Linux, for example).

Personally, I tried installing Pop!_OS on a laptop, and the sound output mysteriously doesn't work. I may try switching to Arch Linux, since it is extremely customizable and I might be able to experiment until I find a configuration where the audio works.

Many Linux distros offer "Live USB" functionality, which works as both a demo and an installer. You should thoroughly test your distro on a Live USB session before you actually install it to be absolutely sure that everything works. Even if it seems fine, you should probably look into dual-booting with your existing operating system, just in case you need it for some reason.

Not the whole thing, for me at least, but it's specifically the sections where it tells you a month and a "phase" you had for that month that's just... wrong to me.

okay. yeah. hi. My top 5 songs/artists were all pretty much in order, i can verify this since i have my spotify connected to Lastfm (tracks your listens/"scrobbles" onto its own website for easily checking what you listen to the most etc etc).

(I almost forgot before this, but I must mention that a few servers I'm in have music bots that scrobble tracks listened through vc. Some of the numbers will not count on Spotify due to this, but most of my time listening was via Spotify. It changes the rankings, but not by much.)

The "Top Songs 2024" playlist is where it starts to fall apart a bit. I set up my Lastfm to show me my tracks in top listening order from Jan. 1st to Oct. 31st (about the time it collects Spotify Wrapped data)

Aaaand... my top 10, everything past the 2nd song, is out of order. I give this some leeway due to the aforementioned vc scrobbles.

You see that large bulk of songs from the same album? Why does it just... not count after the 5th one? The other 4 show up separated by 3 tracks each?????

Actually, I'm noticing now too, EVERY track from the same album has that same 3-song buffer (notice the Halloween IV tracks also being buffered above)... but why? My best guess is so that you can listen to it w/o shuffle and not get bombarded with everything from the same album at once, but I personally feel like it removes the whole point of a "Top 100" playlist, no?

Anyways... onto the "Month Phase" things.

How do you get such clean dungeon meshi colors? I think specifically of your chapter 76 one- there was so much text covering that and in b&w Kabru’s skin had a filter over it that you seem to have gotten rid of. How? Did you do all that by hand? It’s fantastic either way

Thank you for the question! As for getting rid of the text, there's usually two different versions of chapter covers depending on what site you're looking at.

See, neither of these versions of chapter 57 are free of text or text boxes. Fortunately, the area where they are concealed by title stuff doesn't overlap. This means I was able to splice the missing piece of bookshelf under the title box out of cover 2 and onto cover 1, creating a clean cover 3.

As for removing the grey filter over darker skinned characters like Kabru, as I did for the chapter 76 cover, that one's just a convenient little feature of the app that I use. I do all my coloring in ibis paint on my phone, and when you upload an image it gives the you option to "extract line drawing." I fiddle around with the middle and black tones and this usually "removes" or at least significantly lightens the screentones to the point where colors in dark areas don't look entirely washed out.

After I have the lines all set like this, I colorpick the anime character portraits whenever possible for the flats, and then I add shading, texture, and highlights.

Guys what the actual *fuck* is going on with th imp's circus forehead tattoos

Bc I've always just skipped them in my mind. Sort of "Oh they were in the circus and they got branded like horses with a symbol" or sum shit

But today I decided to draw Fizz as a dragon (technically basefill, but that's beside the point) and I pulled up a hatless Fizz refference on my comp so that I can look at his horns (which are asymmetrical, but that's a separate post), and due to this my search looked like this

And I remembered that I didn't include the tattoo on Blitz dragon (that I had already finished)

So that caused me to pay attention to that little image on the bottom there

And I noticed, their fucking tattoos are different from each other

As you can (or cannot) see in my poorly spliced windows photos app, Blitz's tattoo hasd horns, a slimmer heart shape and a little no-ink spot in the middle

Meanwhile Fizz's tattoo is wider, lacks horns and doesn't have that spot

On Barbie Wire the tattoo is simmilar or the same as on Blitz, so what the fuck's up with Fizz's tattoo????

I understand the wider face shape, even as a kid Fizz had a wide face, but why the lack of horns??? Why no nose spot??? What the fuck's going on???

Is it bad that I love Kimblee so much and how you write him makes my skin crawl but it’s just good. Every time he shows up in FOM I get giddy on what fucked up shit he’s gonna do next.

I just finished the chapter where he YEETED poor Ed over the train tracks. Your characterization of him is so unique and my love for this man is bested only by a few on this app.

It means I am doing a good job which is a rarity for me. It was sorely tempting aka be lazy to just write is exactly like manga or 03 instead of the spliced hybrid fuck up that I find so hard to write but kinda enjoy. While I love villains being evil for the sake of it, I need them to also have something deeper and his relationship with Edward is so toxic but its also kept the kid alive... talk about a double edged sword. 😭

One of my readers called him a "rabid soccer mom" in that chapter and I can't unseen it. He would make Abby from the tv reality show Dance Mom's look mild...

Kimblee is a rather sadistic cat and the world is filled with mice for him to bat around and make bleed, his favorite being Roy or Ed.

Hello, I am Tasha (you may also call me by my fursona name, Somi, though I kinda prefer Tasha)

I'm not new to this site, I created a new account after years of feeling bad about the drama I flung myself into on this site because I have to stop feeling bad and I decided I should try to redeem myself here. And also cus friends use this site as well.

Anyways, what u need to know about me is that I'm 18, I'm Canadian, I draw stuff, I'm autistic, I'm a multifandom weirdo with too many interests in media, and I enjoy cartoons and games and stuff.

I may not too active here, either I'm active on other apps or I'm may be a little paranoid to use this site again (Though I am actually getting a hang of it!)

Our arrival in this future would be a gradual surrender, achieved through a slow creep of terms and conditions, and the capitulations had already begun.
