I am so sick of waiting for v50 adventure mode, are you?

I'm super excited. Mostly for the new party interface.

The adventure mode interface was even more convoluted than the Fortress mode one so I'm excited for all the new adventure mode players. Although what I've seen of the demo suggests the wait will be well worth it.

Dear Expedition Leader Dumat Adilsezuk,

I’d like to complain about the state of this Outpost. I understand this place has only been established for a few months, but I’d like a little privacy with my wife. I appreciate you’ve been working on making the fortress asfer with all these new traps and a bore hole but I don’t even have a room where I talk without every dwarf in this fortress hearing me. Plus your office faces directly onto the dormitory.

Diary of Dumat Adilsezuk Expedition Leader 28th of Galena

I found this complaint chalked next to my door this morning from a disgruntled new citizen. We’ve had 6 new migrants. In the last season arriving from the east. Most of them are content with the conditions. This beardo clearly thinks that his need to alone with his wife, whatever that means, is worth disturbing me for. If he needs a quiet place I’ve set aside a little room for prayer and contemplation.

I’ll have you know I use that dorm too. That draughty cold two-bed dorm.

We are most of the way to building a well, we do however need blocks and mechanisms. Work is slow here and although I know more migrants will mean more mouths to feed, it’ll mean more helping hands. Work is slow.

Mid-autumn

The Hospital of the Siovlery Homes has been built. We've got beds and surgery tables for the patients. We still need storage space for supplies but that's about as complete as we need at the moment.a

The autumn brings the arrival of a caravan. The fortress's expedition leader/manager/broker got to work selling off our cut gems.

Bedrooms are now constructed and soon we'll get them smoothed out.

I've got a dwarf who's a legendary diagnostician. He's a loner, overconfident and lustful so he's a good candidate to be a dwarven Dr House.

Seems like you might need to wall another citizen in

dwarf fortress update. i've identified the vampire, but my justice system won't punish her despite her being convicted of murdering three people, one of which she confessed to.

I think what's happening is she gets beaten up every time they try to take her to the dungeon because she fights back and then they take her to the hospital instead, but she leaves before she can get a diagnosis, so she's just walking around with like 7 infected wounds killing people

Vampires appear to have been updated since the wiki page was written—she will claim a bedroom, she just doesn't sleep there, however she does attempt to store personal items such as her armor in tombs, which I suspect might be a vampire trait?

I've "set camera to follow" her for like half an hour trying to catch her in the act, but no dice.

Actually, it's even better than that. Someone (presumably Paldin of Bay12 forums however Wiki lacks a talk page so I can't verify) specifically made an account for the wiki, just to put the original quote in. This quote dates back to Nov 2012 and the wording has not been changed since then (with the exception of "playing".

The change in crossing-out is the latest revision on the page, 2023 (most people seem to think that this D-rated comment was passable except from an anonymous editer from Ohio).

I reverted to an older save in my undead werebison fortress so now I just have a werebison prison under my fort.

There were three guys in it but now there's just one because he killed the other ones

I later had to rollback AGAIN because I was randomly attacked by ANOTHER werebison from outside.

And then my whole fort was slaughtered by snake people basically? So that was another rollback

Now I've completely walled off the whole fort aboveground and blocked the stairwells into the cavern as well.

Dwarven mental health is worse than ever, several of them were "found dead contorted in fear" and a bunch have succumbed to depression, but i keep getting large numbers of migrants which I welcome because it's an influx of dwarves that don't have residual trauma from living in my horrible werebison necromancer fortress.

The location is ridiculously rich in native gold, native copper, zinc, and tin ores, but I have yet to find any iron ore at all. I've given my militias bronze armor. I've also found a ton of precious and semi-precious gems and a large magma pool, at z level -12. I don't know what to do with the magma pool
