Vlad must have seen through their plan to use Constantines band to play ghost repelling music so they could sneak Danny away without being followed. He's better than they thought.

Bruce put the phone back on the receiver. He turned to Dick. "Let Damian know we're doing plan B."

Danny walked into the community center, hood up, hands in his pocket, and eyes on the floor. Most people there avoided him. For once it wasn't because he was a ghost. He just had normal, human bad vibes now. ~yaay~

He skipped the library. Most of the actual science books had been banned, so there was no point. He never went near the pool either. He didn't want people to see his scars and thin body.

He glanced into the basketball court. Two kids were playing. The older one spotted him. Danny tried to get away but Virgil caught up to him in the hallway.

"Danny, wait up. Do you wanna play too? There's plenty of room."

His dad runs the center, so, he was pretty much always there. It was like he knew everyone.

"We're not really using any rules, just free throws, ya'know? Plus, ah-" Virgil rubbed his head. "You don't have to pass any tests to join."

He knew way too much about everyone... just like Jazz. "I don't want to play." Danny avoided his touch and covered his eyes with his hood.

Virgil took the hint and stepped back. "Where did you go yesterday? We missed you at group."

"Attendance isn't mandatory." Danny snapped. "And what I do outside the center is none of your business!"

Virgil was silent for a moment. That was probably the only thing he didn't have in common with Jazz. He didn't have her temper. "I'm here, whenever you're ready. So are all the others."

I caused the nasty burger incident. I just gave my daughter to a stranger. Vlad wants to take me to live in his vampire castle a hundred acres from civilization.

Danny didn't say anything. He just walked away, letting tears drip down his face so he wouldn't be seen wiping them.

He finally got to his destination. The gym. They had a shelf full of headphones for borrowing. In there he could just do his own thing and not be bothered. The only problem was the doorman.

"Hi, Danny."

"Gladys." Danny greeted his adversary and held out an index finger.

She pulled her sewing needle and pricked it. The sting of the disinfectant was worse than the actual needle. She squeezed until a thick drop of blood oozed out and placed a small sample strip on it. She shoved the strip into her little machine that looked like a stopwatch and it gave her a number. "Wow, look at you." She smiled as she placed a little sticker on his page in her binder. "Just three more and you'll break your last streak. Think you're up for it this time?"

"Probably not." He didn't need to worry about Mr Wayne or Alfred putting anything in his food, but Vlad?

After the Nasty Burger incident, Danny went to live with Vlad under the promise that he would change. And he did, for all of two months before Danny discovered a secret basement full of clones. All except one of them were unstable.

Thoroughly betrayed, Danny takes the one stable clone and puts the rest of them out of their misery. Then he heads to Gotham where the local billionaire has a habit of taking in black hair blued eyed orphans. Fight fire with fire right? Or in this case money with money.
