Thanks for your Count Duckula post! There’s little content for it, so it’s always a pleasure to see someone post about it, especially with good observations! Do you have any other thoughts about Igor and his relationship with the 14th Count?

Ahaha glad to contribute to the discussion, this show has so much of everything going on in one episode that I wish more people would talk about it!

Honestly I haven't seen too many episodes so idk if that specific Duckula appears anywhere else, but I really wish we'd get more flashbacks cause seeing Igor actually happy is so rare and precious. And in general these two work off each other so well! Like form the second the count wakes up they just enjoy existing in each other's company, cracking jokes and just talking.

And yea Igor just in general gets a kick out of villainy, and they gave him plenty opportunities to have his fun, turning the current Duckula evil or erasing his memory, or there was that one statue that came to life, for the life of me I can't make out of which count it was... But even though Igor is happy then, it never reaches the level of energy he has with the great grand father, not to mention he tears up at the mere mention of the man. I think it's because all the other incarnations of Duckula we see have some sort of quirk to them, but this one just indulges in the most pure vampire energy, capes and manners and habits and all. And I can't decide if it was always the distinct vampire flare that Igor loved, or was he more indifferent to what kind of mischief his masters were up to until the 14th count came along, and once he was gone Igor could not help but fall in love with his specific habits. Like Igor doesn't want general evil, he wants exactly what his old maser was doing, he enjoys the rituals he was used to back then. And seeing him happy to be reunited with the rest of the family in another episode just makes him seem even more like a partner of a loved one who's no longer with them, but the family still accepts him, although with more indifference as he's reverted back to the status of a servant

   This song really gives me muse for Ambassador Duckula. Like. Alot. It’s very… Like him. I talked with A friend of mine about an idea to animatic this, I dunno if I’ll do it so imma keep the details to myself, but basically, AD manipulates and hypnotizes someone to break up a revolt that’s planned to throw him out of power. 

   He would never stoop so low as to get his hands dirty unless he found enjoyment out of it or it was something he deemed necessary. No, he likes to toy with peoples heads, making them do things for him, making them turn against each other with just a little push. He would watch from a window in his castle at the people scattering like ants, thanks to him. He finds it to be the most entertaining thing to watch peoples minds unravel before him. The feelings of power is intoxicating to him.
