More than 20 states will gather in Bogota on 15–16 July to declare “concrete measures” against Israel’s violations of international law, according to diplomats speaking to Middle East Eye.
The summit, co-chaired by Colombia and South Africa, will bring together members and supporters of The Hague Group, a bloc launched in January to confront what it calls “a climate of impunity” surrounding Israel’s actions in Gaza.
The group includes Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba, Honduras, Malaysia, Namibia, Senegal, and South Africa, with additional countries such as Spain, Ireland, Turkiye, Portugal, China, Qatar, Algeria, Bangladesh, Brazil, Chile, Indonesia, Lebanon, Nicaragua, Oman, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Uruguay, and Palestine set to attend.
Colombian Vice-Minister of Multilateral Affairs Mauricio Jaramillo Jassir said the summit would not only reaffirm the group’s resistance to the ongoing “Palestinian genocide,” but also outline specific steps to move from words to collective action.

Four Frames from Utah.
Today I color corrected and edited these shots, more geared toward printing in the future. The first shot is also a panoramic stitch of two exposures that I just recently got around to processing.

Ministerial delegates from over 30 nations gathered in Bogotá, Colombia, for a two-day summit to discuss measures for the international community to stop Israel’s ongoing genocide of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
“Each state must immediately review and suspend all ties with the State of Israel … and ensure its private sector does the same,” UN special rapporteur for the occupied Palestinian territory, Francesca Albanese, said on Tuesday. “The Israeli economy is structured to sustain the occupation that has now turned genocidal.”
The conference is co-chaired by South Africa and Colombia and was organized by the eight-member Hague Group, a coalition of eight Global South nations that earlier this year pledged to cut military ties with Israel and comply with an International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Countries such as China, Mexico, Brazil, Norway, Pakistan, Algeria, Turkiye, Spain, and Ireland, among others, also have delegates present in Bogota.
According to a report by Drop Site News, some nations represented in the summit “are divided in their approach to pressure Israel” and are holding high-level talks on whether to sever diplomatic ties with Israel or place sanctions on the country.
“It is unclear what those proposed measures are, but they are likely to be announced on Wednesday morning during the closing ceremony,” DSN reported from Bogota.
In response to the historic summit, the US State Department issued a scathing statement on Tuesday, stressing that Washington “strongly opposes efforts by so-called ‘multilateral blocs’ to weaponize international law as a tool to advance radical anti-Western agendas.”
"The so-called Hague Group—whose leading voices are South Africa and Cuba, authoritarian and communist regimes, respectively, with deeply troubling human rights records—seeks to undermine the sovereignty of democratic nations by isolating and attempting to delegitimate Israel, transparently laying the groundwork for targeting the United States, our military, and our allies,” the statement reads.
"[The US will] aggressively defend our interests, our military, and our allies, including Israel, from such coordinated legal and diplomatic warfare. We urge our friends to stand with us in this critical endeavor.”
