Optimus Prime; BUILD MODE!

Okay so, kinda shit art aside, i love supermodes, and as such i wanted to do an original one for my au (there are more to be added down the road for other characters) This is Optimus Prime and Scavenger (yes, G1 Scavenger, i pull alot from Microns with how i write him, but he was still the arm of devastator) Optimus and Scavenger share a deep bond with one another, deep enough to where Prime actually trusts the constructicon to combine with him in battle should the rare instance arise.

༉‧₊˚. this man would buy you stuff. there’s no point in arguing, because he would anyway, whether you like it or not. you don’t want something bought? don’t look at it. you look - you get, simple as that. if the first time he tried to buy you something you’d refuse, he’d be genuinely surprised. he wouldn’t understand how you could even have objections, because in his mind, he’s hella rich, he has more money than he can realistically spend, so of course he will, on you, don’t you get it? you want to try paying for it yourself? nah, his card’s pressed to the terminal before you can even blink. if you even insinuated that he was trying to buy your love, he’d be really hurt. he’s expressing love, not buying it. theo just wants to see your happy, pretty smile, and if your favourite things make you smile - ready-set-bought.

༉‧₊˚. a day at the shopping center isn’t just a day, but a date, and one of theo’s favourite ones, bc he gets to spoil you and spend so much time with you? yes, please. he’s not the type of boyfriend to sit outside the shop and wait for you while on his phone, no. he trails after you, carefully studying the clothing options and giving his input. he’d tell you straight up is something doesn’t fit, as well. not in a rude way, of course. “bella, you look gorgeous, but this colour would really make your eyes pop.” a human hanger, clothes you pick out hanging from his arms and shoulders as you make your way to the changing room. lingerie shopping? he’s the first in the store, already picking out sets before you even step inside. you absolutely have to make a show out of trying them on. he’s sitting in the couch, sipping espresso from the tiny cup that the shopping assistants offered, waiting for the first look. you open the curtain and his eyebrow immediately goes up, a sly smirk making the corner of his mouth go up. "what do you say, teddy?" you ask, turning around to check your ass in the mirror. "stupenda" he murmurs appreciatively, slowly nodding and roaming your form with his hungry eyes. you smile and disappear behind the curtain again, oblivious to the fact that theo has to adjust the front of his trousers – who gave you the right to look this hot? you end up buying everything, which isn’t even that useful since he’s taking it off at home anyway.

༉‧₊˚. when you go grocery shopping, you’re trying to be all cute and climb into the shopping cart, but theo gets actually concerned, because he thinks you’re tired already. "piccola, i told you not to wear heels to the grocery store, but you never listen." you laugh, finding his worried eyes adorable, and explain that it’s just a couple’s thing, to ride the shopping cart. he raises his eyebrow, but finds the whole idea pretty amusing, especially after seeing you all happy and cute in the cart. makes puppy eyes at you, asking you to push him in the cart down an empty isle, while no one sees. you spend half an hour searching for theo’s favourite and rare chocolate bar which you can only find in this particular store. if you can’t find it, he has no problem drilling the poor employees about it; he isn’t rude, just really persistent. you end up with more bags than you planned for because he takes two of everything non-perishable. "i know you’ll send me off to get you these cookies at midnight at some point, so i’m just thinking ahead, love."

༉‧₊˚. all about the famous ikea shopping trips because he gets to tell you which positions he’d take you in on which bed (or any surface, to be honest). absolutely adores book shops, especially obscure and second-hand ones, where he can go hunting for rare editions of his and your favourite books. he loves the smell of old books, too, so he can stay there for a long, long while, and it might be the only shop which you have to drag him out of at some point.

So a moot on Discord shared a link to make your own Sinner IDs or EGOs, so I made a few IDs based on Puyo Puyo because no one can stop me

[Primp Magic Apprentice] Don Quixote - Amitie

An ID based entirely on maintaining high HP and SP to reap the benefits of her unique Red Puyo Cap buff, which is basically Ring Sang but extending to general debuffs as well. Also both are hyperactive goofballs with untold hidden power who dreams to become a great hero in their own way also Amitie is on her way to her inevitable depression arc like Don Quixote trust

[Half-Demon Descendant] Gregor - Sig

Entirely because his demon arm and being associated with bugs makes him a prime candidate to be a Gregor ID. Anyways, cracked Sinking infliction + a demon arm supermode + a unique -SP mechanic where his attacks becomes indiscriminate at -45 SP which actually makes it kinda worse than if he corroded.

[Rising Comet] Yi Sang - Lemres

"Sparkt, why did you make Yi Sang Lemres? Wouldn't Hong Lu as Lemres make more sense?"

Yi Sang and Lemres are both prodigal geniuses who were trapped in oppressive environments forced to do things they didn't want to do, and it wasn't until they encountered a free spirit by chance did they decide to leave behind their old lives, never look back, and chose to follow their ideal versions of themselves

"Why would he lose HP on his Skill 3 if he's below 14 Charge?"

Because the one time Lemres decided to practice his light magic without front loading on sweets, he became delirious and nearly suffered from hypoglymic shock had he not randomly encountered Schezo who decided to conveniently bake a cake at that time.

Lemres is kinda fucked up if you think about it.

I just thought it would be really funny to make the most kindhearted and timid Sinner the most egotistical tryhard in Primp. Heads Hit effects cause Klug loves to overestimate his own abilities to crippling degrees. Also has a small-scale form of Sinking protection because of his book

ok so I've mostly been yelling about reactions to the Alchemical previews on Discord but I have to chip in to tumblr user @xxxdragonfucker69xxx's Hour in Brass to say: holy fuck Hyperphase Fuel Injector gives us a (hopefully intended to be) scenelong combat supermode whose tricky end condition is "enemies can try to break the fuel lines from the tank on your back to your limbs" and I fucking love it. these mechanics really sell the mechanism of it all.

Unassorted Toga Thoughts

Because God knows I haven't emitted enough of those on Tumblr or at people in my social circle over the past few months.

I really like how Toga fills the role of a femme fatale character like you see in a ton of comic books and manga, but only the broad strokes. The female villain who's got sexual overtones, like with Toga needing to strip to use her Quirk.

But in Toga's case, Horikoshi really went out of his way to avoid making her the typical sex bomb, supermodal villainess. She's got a very average body, usually covers herself up quite a bit when she isn't using Transform, and her appearance can be legitimately unsettling.

Like when you go for the "misunderstood monster" archetype in a female character, it's easy to write other characters demonizing them right down to their appearance, but then make them conventionally attractive. I like how Toga is only going to be charming to some people. For others, her big, tooth grins and the shadows under and around her eyes will make it harder to see her that way.

Because the whole point is that a person's worth isn't in their appearance or how neatly they conform. Having aspects to her appearance that are unsettling doesn't justify how Toga was treated by her parents, just like the blood fixation that came with her Quirk did not, on its own, make her a bad person - and certainly not deserving of abuse. I think that to have made Toga too easy on the eyes would have damaged the message, that things she was born with and can't control are not her fault. Some of her actions are, but those actions were informed by people mistreating her and distancing themselves from her over things she couldn't control before she ever started to act out in any way.

I also feel like the exhibitionist aspect is an expression of how Toga wants to be seen, wants to be understood in her entirety, and wants to be wanted just for what she is. No masks, no disguises.

I know it's easy to see it as justification for a horny writing decision, and on one level it is just Horikoshi's horny side bleeding through the page, but I think there is still a creative thought process behind it. That being a sort of psychological outlet for how badly Toga wants people to see the genuine her, wants to form an intimate connection, and I think baring herself like that specifically and her overbearing, inappropriate shows of affection in general are the result of her needs for a deeper connection and to be desired not being met until she can't moderate them in a healthy way anymore.

I also just like the way Toga can be an allegory for so many different things without being locked into any one thing. The way her Quirk and the way it influences how she perceives and interacts with other people and the world in general can really resonate for a neurodivergent reader just as much as it can for a lesbian or bi reader.

Even though I don't think this is the strongest connection, I'm trans and felt a little of my own experiences reflected back at me through how Toga feels so unwanted and wants so much for someone to love her. Plus, you know... the transformation thing.

I've also got a much more organized little essay in mind for how Toga's parents and society in general have gaslit her into believing she's something she's not - i.e., a bad person. I'll get around to that one sometime soon.
