#Suptober challenge

Got slightly bored and ended up deciding on rather or not to draw one of the very few others, or even the main two, but ends up picking Eileen even though humans are quite hard to draw, still tried. Only it ended up a bit more of a FarmCore style human being than I was originally going for, but kept it anyway with the long hair and then kind of kept going with making it slightly more Autumn and girlyish at the same time, then waited awhile and added in the bracelet on the right side. Left the rest of the things there, including the Hay. For the most part it should turn out well, but been busy and didn’t have time to draw humans for the most part and so this Ended up looking slightly strange since also included a winged necklace for some extra details and couldn’t really think of anything else to add there, above by the hair or by the wrist area, so it sort of ended up being a bit lopsided for some parts and had to erase some of the longer Lines and all of that, but keeping it like this. Tried adding the sun, but it ended up even more lopsided. Keeping it as is, though, since therefore it ended up being well enough that couldn’t exactly get much else going on with the art anyway. Was too busy trying to get something done.

Suptober 2024 - Remixed!

Suptober is a fandom creativity challenge every October. hosted by the wonderfully talented and super amazingly nice @winchester-reload! This year, she has been unable to host it [read her post here!]

But, like a swallow to Capistrano, my art-brain wants an art challenge in October and I love this one a lot. My friend @thepagemistress and I looked at Jackie’s older lists, pulled some prompts we liked, as well as added our own!

We made this list to use this October but we also wanted to share it with the fandom in case y’all still want to do Suptober as well! Jackie isn’t hosting it, and I lack the resources at this time to properly host it —

BUT - I personally still intend on using #suptober24 for my creations, and I encourage anyone who may use this list to also use that hashtag and so we can all engage with our stuff!

I won’t be able to reblog all the creations daily, but I’ll do my best to spread the amazing work this fandom does. I hope we all can still participate in this community event! (Not just art, but writing, gifs, and anything else besides A*I*).

FAQ's

Why aren't there 31 prompts this year? Because I'm changing it up to something a little less overwhelming for you and me. Fill all the days, and if you're still hungry for more, send me a message and let me know it wasn't enough so I can take that into account for next year!

I posted my work and you haven't reblogged it. What did I do wrong? Probably nothing. I may have just missed it, which will happen. The good news is, it's up to you to include your work in an archive this year, so be sure to do that! Also be sure to tag it correctly using #suptober23, and the day you're fulfilling.

I'm really busy in October, can I post it later? Yes! The collection won't close.

I can't write or draw, is there another way I can participate? Yes, you can support all the creators by liking, commenting, and reblogging their work. It's just as important as the things being posted. Also, I bet you'll soon realize you absolute can make art and write too! There's no skill level required to have fun.

How long do the stories need to be? There's no word length just be sure to make a good effort, and challenge yourself.

Can I include multiple days in one fic? Sure, but don't post early, and be sure to tag for each day both here on tumblr (if you're posting to tumblr) and on Ao3. In the past, people have used each prompt as a new chapter, and that works great for a cohesive project!

Can I repost the prompt list with my posts? Yep. Go ham. Use at will.

Suptober Day 6: Electric ⚡️

Unfortunately I didn’t get the chance to write out the fic in full yet like I wanted to. I will perhaps come back to this at a later date. I lost some motivation and sleep this weekend:/ Anywho! Here’s the headcanons/notes/bits of dialogue I had written down!

NSFW ~ Destiel ~ electric shock kink

-it starts when Cas accidentally brushes past Dean while his grace is sparking due to some strong emotion. He’s furious at something but turns back around and sees Dean absolutely frozen to the spot looking like he forgot how to breathe

-for his part, Dean did forget how to breathe. Cas’s grace felt like a electric shock to his core and went straight to his cock. He managed to stay silent but it was a close call

“Are you okay, Dean?”

“Cas, uh yeah,, angel, that’s right. Yeah. Fine.”

-Dean can’t stop thinking about it and bolts to jerk off everytime he gets the slightest tingle

-it takes a few weeks but Dean finally asks Cas while they’re having sex to “do the thing with your grace”

“My grace? Dean?”

“Fucking hell Cas. Shock me, burn me, I don’t care.”

-he’s sliding into Cas at the same time as he’s saying this and doesn’t have more words than that, he’s fucking a fucking angel so it shouldn’t matter

-Cas isn’t even sure how to do it on purpose at first but he tries his absolute hardest to focus on how much Dean wants it

-Cas figured it out and dean has the best orgasm of his life

-Sam was concerned the next morning because of the screaming

-they end up making it a regular part of their sex life and regular life

-turns out in addition to exciting Dean, it also works to ground him in stressful situations and punish him whenever Cas is annoyed (dean really doesn’t mind)

-dean doesn’t like to think about why he finds it so arousing but good news is he can’t think much when Cas is doing it to him

-Cas becomes slightly addicted to shocking dean

-dean is more than a little addicted to it

-Sam thinks they’re fucking weird

The boys go pumpkin picking. Dean spends ages looking for the perfect pumpkin, it can't just be any old squash, it has to be 'the one' and as he looks across the orange field, he eyes find a certain angel.

Castiel, always one for strays, collects all the misshapen and discoloured pumpkins and convinces the hunter to let him get them all because he's sad no one else will want them.

Also, Sam is there. Kind of, he finds an excuse to leave the field, refusing to be the third wheel of this weird eye-fucking tricycle any longer.

The boys were bored when Dean discovered a massage table in one of the many store rooms of the bunker they had yet to spend the time to clean out. Subsequently he challenged Sam to play rock, paper, scissors for the win of being the receiver of the first massage.

Thought the question is who is winning here Sam or Dean?

And yes I'm aware my Dean looks like a Misha-Jensen hybrid 🤷‍♀️😅😆

October wrap-up

So! October is at an end! And I have not finished Spocktober/Trektober. Let's see how I did!

My goals for the month were:

To have fun :3

To get used to finishing drawings

To get used to posting them, too!

To have fun :3

To improve my sketching and lineart skills

To end up with a bunch of finished drawings (of Spock!!!) :3

To let go of a bit of my perfectionism

TO HAVE FUN :3

So how do I think I did?

Having fun:

I had a lot of fun with it this year! In previous years, I've pretty much immediately devolved into an anxious mess because there were too many options and I bit off more than I could chew. This time around, thanks to my guidelines (only inking, not spending too much time on each day, sketching and thumbnailing in advance), it was a lot easier to let loose and have fun thinking up ideas and enjoying the process. Plus, I let my friends know I was doing it this time around and got encouragement and support, which was lovely.

Getting used to finishing drawings:

I did better at this than I thought I would! There are several drawings I've finished this month that I would have given up on if not for this goal. Do I think they were all my best work? No. Did I learn from the process? Yes! And some of the ones that have gotten the most notes were ones I thought no-one would like and struggled to finish. So! I also figured out new ways of motivating myself to finish things, which is also very helpful.

Getting used to posting things:

Also went better than I thought! Although I didn't manage to maintain a cushion of queued posts like I wanted to, the response I've gotten from actually posting my art has been amazing! I've gained several new followers (hello!!) and gotten so many nice comments, and went from being afraid of posting anything to tentatively looking forward to people's reactions, which is a huge improvement for me. Getting that accountability of posting publicly also helped keep me going when I felt like giving up - seeing my friends laugh when I showed them my silly comics or getting nice comments really made me feel like sharing my art is worthwhile. So thank you to everyone who reblogged my art, commented, liked, etc. I'm glad you did!

Improving sketching and lineart:

I definitely think I improved my art skills. Getting into the habit of thumbnailing really helped take the pressure off the sketching phase, and trying so many different ideas pushed me out of my comfort zone and forced me to try drawing things I wasn't so confident on - look how many hands I drew!!!! As for the lineart, I think I've gained a bit more experience in using pens, although I did buy a whole new set of them halfway through the month which put me on a new learning curve. Lineart's never been a huge favourite of mine, and I do miss using my tablet to do lineless art, but the nature of the challenge did help me to loosen up and experiment to keep my mind engaged the whole time.

To end up with a bunch of finished drawings of Spock:

Check! I have 14 finished drawings, with another four sketched and needing inking, plus a whole load of thumbnails to work from in future. I may go back and add colour to some of the days for funsies, but there's several that I can just put on my wall as-is and be proud :)

To let go of a bit of my perfectionism:

I definitely did! Like I said, there's a few of the ones I've posted that I'm not too proud of and know I could do better on, but I've spent all month purposely smacking my hand away from perfectionism, and I know I've tried my best given my limitations. I'm still proud of myself for getting this far, and for posting when I was anxious, and for improving my skills, and now I get to stick up my art on my wall and be proud of it! I'm not magically cured by any means, but I do have a bit more evidence that perfection is not a good goal to pursue, so I'm going to keep this experience in mind for the future.

So what now?

I do have thumbnails for almost all of the rest of the prompts. I am doing NaNoWriMo this month, and I have a digital piece that I want to finish for the 5th (holy shit. three years.) So I think I'll take a little pause on these prompts, but I don't want to stop. I'll keep coming back to them, and keep posting them, until I run out of prompts or motivation, whichever comes first. I've really enjoyed seeing people's reactions to my Star Trek art, especially the comics! I also have a backlog of SPN fanart I want to post, so I'll probably queue some of that to come out soon.
