DAY 5959
Jalsa, Mumbai June 11, 2024 Tue 11:56 PM
🪔 ,
June 12 .. birthday greetings to Ef Suresh Jumani from Chennai .. 🙏🏻🚩❤️ greetings from the Ef ..
It closes in at around 12:48 am of the next day - June 12, 2024 and the work continues .. started at a little before, but getting done to it now .. lessons of life .. start and get going .. wait and you may miss the train .. bus or whatever the adage is prevalent .. the platitude the epigraph ..
happens now .. now more so than before .. now you look out for the Insta gems that give concoctions on how to sleep well and early , how to exercise the body and lungs , how to put the various eatable or consumables under the pillow for better shut eye , how to move the fingers of the hand for better health conditions of various parts of the body, listen to the numerous saints priests godmen who guid us through philosophical thinking on life and more .. on belief, on religion, on women , on wives, on husbands and to each their behavioural patterns .. and the acts of PR and promotions of products and films - mine inclusive .. !!!
🤣
and then to go back to them on the net to see the number of followers increase , or what number actually saw the page , and the various instructions from well wishers on how to boost the numbers ..
बाप रे बाप !
once you start sliding the page , the fingers hurt but never the desire to notice and read each one .. a disease of sorts .. because the time consumed has gone beyond, unknown to us, and by then it is too late to go back to the instruction of how to increase your memory and brain power and eyesight ..
Tumblr media
it is in short a ruddy mess .. !!
kbye and may the night be bright and in deep slumber ..
was teaching someone a few Italian gestures - not known and heard generally .. cannot possibly share them here .. 😳

Okay, so I rewatched PR:U for the first time since its release, and I definitely had some thoughts.
To begin with, what is with the really bizarre product placement in the beginning. Jake did not need to hold up those Oreos so blatantly lmao.
PR:U jumps straight into the action in a really identifiably different way than Pacific Rim does. In PR, Raleigh narrates the Kaiju War and then we see him and Yancy get into the Knifehead fight, and it flows really well overall. On the other hand, PR:U starts with a quick relay of the Kaiju War, and then we're introduced to Jake in the regions still affected by past Kaiju attacks (i.e. half-destroyed mansion, which I also have some thoughts on). So it quickly becomes clear he's got some black market dealings going on, and the first action sequence of the movie is Jake running from these random Jaeger scrappers (??). It's just really throwing compared to the first one, since we at least have a general idea of what's going on with Raleigh.
Side note: I'm assuming they're in the Bay Area that was largely evacuated considering they head toward a Jaeger scrapyard, so how does that mansion have like...any utilities.
So then we're introduced to Amara, who can build a sickass Jaeger but has no security system? I don't know, she seems really careful about being discovered for obvious reasons, so I feel her hideout would at least have an alarm or some kind of traps, But Jake essentially just strolls in.
Of course, then we have November Ajax vs. Scrapper, which I actually do like. Its nice to see what the new Jaegers look like, and see what Scrapper, the first single-pilot Jaeger, is capable of. This scene also really seals the tone of PR:U as kind of lighthearted and jokey while also having action and death, which isn't really the case in Pacific Rim.
Another thing I like: Amara and Jake's relationship. A lot of things about this movie feel funky, but I think the actors did a very good job of forming a very genuine-feeling bond between these two characters.
Mako's introduction just feels. very bizarre. I understand that she obviously can't be there in person, thus the hologram, but the whole situation just has a weird vibe that I can't place. I'm not sure if it's because Jake and Mako act so familiar with each other even though Jake was never mentioned in the movie, or because I'm just not a fan of the hologram bit.
Contrary to popular opinion (at least what I've seen), I really like the Jaegers in PR:U. I hate that they removed the realism from their movements that was always present in the first, but there were some very interesting weapons and new designs introduced at the same time, so I can let it slide. Except the giant rotating ball of blades on Bracer Phoenix, it can go die.
Mako's death is genuinely my least favorite scene in the movie for obvious reasons. She was essentially killed off for no reason, since we don't see much of Jake's grief, meaning they wrote her off for pointless plot purposes, which I hate.
I do enjoy the villain bait with Liwen, although it's a shame Newton ended up being the villain. They were definitely setting her up as an antagonist since she was on a side somewhat opposite to Mako's, and because it becomes clear that Shao Industries is somehow evil before having her turn around and attempt to stop Newton no matter the force necessary.
While on women in the movie, not a huge fan of how Jules was treated, but she's also not present that much so I won't go on and on about female characters being used a tool to create tension being male characters blah blah.
The fight against the Mega-Kaiju was...something. Suresh dying was completely out of the blue, and I hated it. I think the cadets all being so young is an odd decision to make, especially because in the first movie most of the Jaeger pilots come into the program in their very late teenage years at the least (besides Chuck and Raleigh, iirc). They try to justify the whole. child soldier-esque training by saying the Bond is stronger at a young age, but they didn't even have that young of recruits in the first PR and that was during a war so idk.
Raleigh not being mentioned at all is also a crime btw. Or Herc, for that matter, but he could at least make a little more justifiable sense than Raleigh.
Anyway, this was a really scattered collection of musings on the movie, but there we go.

Name: Atticus Pierce Age / D.O.B.: 28/04.20.96 Gender, Pronouns & Sexuality: Cis male, He/him, Bisexual Hometown: Orlando, Florida Affiliation: Civilian Job position: Funeral Home Director Education: Photography Degree Relationship status: Single Children: None Positive traits: (hardworking, loyal, ambitious, patient, understanding) Negative traits: (reserved, hardheaded, stubborn, a bit reckless, slightly naive)
— BIOGRAPHY
death tw,
Atticus Pierce was the first, and only, child Trisha Pierce ever had. He grew up in a single parent household, but his mom's love made up that of two parents. He was the product of a fun night that turned into multiple nights. Trisha fell hard for Heath, and truthfully, one could say they were a pretty perfect duo together. She was in life, and in spirit, his biggest cheerleader. The only reason she never told Heath about Atticus was because in she truly believed she was helping him achieve his true happiness by letting him go on with his career without holding him back. But that didn't mean that she didn't tell Atticus stories about his father, very much keeping his memory alive throughout his entire childhood and teenage years as best as she could. And Atticus? Well, he lived in a world in which his mother had to keep working double jobs, as well as shifts, in order to keep their household afloat. He admired her for the strength she showed him and so he focused his energy on trying to help out around the house. Keeping all the questions he had about his father tucked in the back of his head.
From a young age, Atticus showed signs of being a talented photographer. Even though he loved taking pictures of nature, his passion was with street photography. He loved to capture little slices of life, especially those involving his mother. It was thanks to his photography that he was able to bring in a bit more income for their little home. He always used to ask payment to be in cash and then he would secretly slip it in his mom's purse or pretend like he found it on the street so she wouldn't feel bad. Even though Atticus eventually does end up getting a degree in photography, nothing ever really came of it for him. His mom fell ill when he turned twenty-three, so he spent most of the time working, paying the medical bills, and taking care of her. When he was twenty-five, Trisha finally showed Atticus a picture of his father and her when they had been dating. Then, when Atticus turns twenty-seven, his mom passed due to health complications.
He spent a year just wandering around the Orlando area and pretty much getting into lighthearted trouble here and there. One day he ended up getting into a bar fight with a guy that ends up being his friend by the end of it all, funny enough, and he becomes the reason Atticus gets inspired to look for his father. Little did he know that he would end up finding Heath and he'd end up actually liking his father. He's only been in NYC for six months and the discovery of his father is very recent, but Atticus has a positive outlook on the situation. In the meantime, he's very dedicated to his job at the funeral home. After all, it's thanks to Suresh that he's been able to not only put food in his stomach, plus pay rent, but also find his father.

AICWA President Suresh Shyamlal Gupta Meets Maharashtra Labour Minister Shri Akash Fundkar, Raises Alarming Issues of Exploitation in the Film Industry
President of the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA), Suresh Shyamlal Gupta, met with the Honourable Labour Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Akash Fundkar, and strongly raised the grave concerns of lakhs of film industry workers, technicians, junior artists, and performing artists—across Bollywood, Marathi cinema, and regional industries.
Mr. Gupta highlighted that since 2021, exploitation of cine workers has reached an unbearable level. Several government labour officers and Film City authorities have allegedly colluded with producers, production houses, and TV channels to suppress and abuse workers on a massive scale.
“The officers who are supposed to protect workers have blindfolded themselves. Film City has turned into a slaughterhouse for labour rights. Workers are crying out loud, bleeding in silence — but no one is listening,” said Gupta.
AICWA firmly demanded that the Labour Minister immediately call for an official meeting on film industry labour issues, to which Shri Akash Fundkar agreed and assured that directives have already been issued to organize the meeting.
Mr. Gupta further informed the Minister that Union’s members are being stopped from entering film shooting sets, allowing producers, production houses, and channels to exploit workers openly and fearlessly—in broad daylight—without any accountability. This is happening with the full support of corrupt labour officers and Film City administrators, who are siding with the powerful and ignoring the cries of the helpless.
“Labour laws are being butchered every day on film sets. If the government fails to act now, the situation will explode,” warned Gupta.
AICWA has made it clear: we will not stay silent. The time for action is now, and the Labour Ministry must take responsibility for what is happening under its watch.
