infinite granite - deafheaven: they’re an ambient black metal-shoegaze band, but this album is fr like dream pop. sooooo beautiful and rly good lyrics. still unclean vocals but wow this is one of my favs ever.

both - okay kaya: a recent find that i rly enjoyed. very very chill—you could *almost* fall asleep to it. she had a captivating vocal style! think caroline polachek on ketamine(?) hahaha just rly chill with a hauntingly beautiful voice.

folie à deux - fall out boy: obviously gotta shout out my favs!!!! this is another fav of all time. ridiculously fun. it’s got 00s rock, funk, soul, a lil wayne feature, a ballad… what else could you want? the boys killed it with this one. i think it’s their best.

pulse of awakening - sybreed: one of the first heavy albums i ever heard <3 they call themselves ‘deathwave’ (death metal + new wave) and yea it fucks. this album is locked the fuck in and so groovy. rly catchy melodies, and a fantastic vocal performance too!

i’m green - mali vasquez: this is my singer-songwriter pick. this 20-something from florida is incredible. it’s a soft indie album about grieving her mother’s death. i listened one day, then spent the entire next day listening to it again. she’s kind of a ‘bad’ singer but i could not care less.

Happy 50th birthday to Dirk Verbeuren (born 8 January 1975) who is a Belgian musician, best known as the former drummer of Swedish melodic death metal band Soilwork and current drummer for U.S. Big4 Thrashers, Megadeth

He recorded five full-length albums and a live DVD/Blu-ray with the band, and performed in Europe, the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, Russia, and China as a headlining act between early 2004 and July 2016.

As of 2016, Verbeuren left Soilwork to join heavy metal band Megadeth, as a full-time member.
