Instructions:

Have fun. This is literally the least stressful thing you should be writing. Forget any rules about length or quality. Just write what you want.

Restrictions: No major character death, and no sexual assault/rape/molestation, even in the past.

Chapter length: 2 sentences – 500 words (you can write more but it needs to be complete by your date).

Uncertain about whether to write what you’re thinking of? Write it. If you’re really unsure, ask yourself whether the next writer can continue from your chapter. Feel free to DM me or comment on this post if you need a friend’s perspective.

Check-ins: I’ll follow up a few days before your deadline to see if you need anything and to help with publishing if you’re confused.

How do I publish on a03?

Step 1: Let yourself be added as a co-creator on a03 by following these steps:

Go to a03

When you're logged in, select "My Preferences" from the "Hi, [username]!" menu at the top of the page. If you're on your Dashboard, you can also choose "Preferences" in the navigation sidebar (found at the top of the page when you're using a mobile device).

Navigate to the Privacy section.

Check the box beside "Allow others to invite me to be a co-creator".

Select the "Update" button at the bottom of the page. Updating your preferences will return you to your Dashboard.

Step 2: Tell me when you’ve done this by commenting here or on discord. Then I can add you to the story.

Step 3: You’ll get an invite on your a03 account to be a co-author on a story called TDJ Collab: Gahan Edition. Click Yes.

Step 4: Upload your chapter on your date.

Hiya TDJ friends!!!

After the success of the collaborative AO3 fic last year, we’re writing again!!! This time, the theme will be Fairytales/Folklore!

Here's how it works: each person will write a Gahan AU based on any Fairytale/folktale of their choosing!

We are aiming to have the stories posted for the fourth anniversary of The Devil Judge! This will coincide with the rewatch parties we have planned to celebrate the fourth anniversary!!

If you are interested in joining, let us know!!!

We also have an 18+ discord that will be used for some planning and for the rewatch parties but we will communicate on tumblr as well (if discord is not your thing but you’re interested in writing).

We hope you can join us!!! Please let us know by June 3rd If you’re interested in joining! (To give amble time for writers to write and also plan the layout). More info to come once we have all participants confirmed!

Continue the story: The Devil Judge/Gahan edition

Fellow fandom folks,

We're doing a collaborative fic on A03 for The Devil Judge and Yohan/Gaon and we'd love for you to join. Here's how it works: each person writes one chapter of the story based on a topic we all voted on. You can write whatever you want in your chapter as long as it connects to chapters before it. This is a nice way to close out the third rewatch, get your creative writing juices flowing in a low-stress place, try your hand at writing if you're new, and importantly, celebrate jinyoung's impending return from the military on November 4th!! If 8 people or more join, we'll be writing until then!

How to join: Reblog or comment here if you want to write a chapter with us! Make sure to sign up by Thursday, September 5 if you want to write!!

Vote here: Answer this poll to vote on what our story will be about. Feel free to suggest other ideas. The topic with the most votes will get selected.

Writing logistics: After everyone signs up, I’ll put our names in a random generator to pick the order of writers.

How it works:

Publishing: You’ll have 1 week to read what’s been written so far and write your chapter. Chapters are due by Thursdays at 9 AM KST. I'll post a schedule.

Word count: Minimum of 2 sentences and not more than 500 words. This is a loose word count specifically to keep it chill. Don’t stress about making your chapter perfect. The idea is to have fun, go with the flow, and write whatever comes to you!

Posting on ao3: We’ll post the fic as one story with multiple authors. I’ll help you out when it’s your turn to add your chapter.

Keeping in touch: We can use a Tumblr post to brainstorm ideas and talk story stuff, or, if enough people are interested, I can set up a discord to chat

The goal is to have a good time and see where everyone’s creativity takes them.

Great pre-New Year news: I found a mirror site of AO3 that still isn't blocked in my country! It seems I can't log in and comment there, but I was able to read the last chapters of The Devil Judge collab fic—and they were sooo lovely. Just what I needed right now :)

Hi everyone and welcome to the Gahan Fairytale collaboration (which I will now call The Devil Judge Folklore Creators Fest!)

Tagging people that I know have confirmed they are participating. Is there anyone else I am missing? (I have tagged many of you in discord so you can disregard this message if you’ve read it there!) If not, looking forward to seeing everyone’s creations!

Does anyone have any initial questions before I break down how the next month will go? It looks like we have about 17 - 18 collaborators so the schedule will be two to three creators uploading their fic a week. It’s awesome because it will align with the rewatch parties as well!

Ideally, we’ll want to begin posting stories from July 3rd so I’m hoping everyone will be finished BUT if not, as long as I know in advance, I can tweak the schedule to give them a later posting day.

Once I hear more from everyone, I’m thinking :

- Weekly Check-ins (just to make sure everyone is in a good place)

- An “official” schedule next week

- Next week, I’ll also DM each of you to find out what your story is about (just a general idea along with any possible triggers that will need to be tagged. We’ll call them out in the Collection Info section as well

- A poll on whether you all would be cool if we post our stories anonymously to start, with a big reveal of all authors at the end (it will be a fun guessing game as well! And a fun way to interact with stories).
