Okay so i first mentioned this a while ago but i have confirmed that Plumbeline Uvano is at one point described as a grape (at 1:26:35 in For Candia! part one) and never described as a plum, even in her introduction. Therefore, based on the evidence I layed out before (she’s around the right age, she’s Gustavo’s daughter, etc.) she could very easily be “son” of Amangeux. This would also track with the fact that Plumbeline has no canon mother, and Gustavo has no canon wife.
This is obviously far from canon, and it was mentioned in the adventuring party that Anjali Bhimani did not even initially make the connection between the grape son and Gustavo Uvano (fair enough, there are so many characters in this show) but it is, to me, a very compelling idea. I mean, I love trans women, so that’s great on its own, but it also connects the arcs of Plumbeline Uvano and Lady Amangee Epicée du Peche in a realllly wonderful way.
Amangeux’s arc in Ravening War can be understood as her movement from a role of Queendom, prestige, and leadership, to position of service, in the shadows, helping Gustavo Uvano rise to the position of Emperor. In the beginning of the story, she’s scrambling to maintain her title as Queen of Vegetania. She attempts to set up political marriages, she works with the FDA, is desperate for others to refer to her as queen. We understand why after the assassination of Pamela Rocks. Its fundamentally about safety. Amangeux is desperate to protect her young child (potentially plumbeline). After the Queen of Candia’s death, it becomes clear that a crown will not save you, and Amangeux immediately tries to run, to go into hiding with Plumbeline. Noble titles don’t make you safe, and so her hopes of marrying Jacque and becoming queen again are abandoned.
The tragedy under Pangranos further proves to her that power doesn’t matter. Deli, Karna, Raphaniel, all attempted to wield their titles and the titles of others for their own gain and protection. In the end, two are dead and the third has left politics and the public eye forever. They could scheme, but they couldn’t stop a monsterous god with iron teeth from ripping their lives apart. At that point, Amangeux decides to give up her son to the Uvanos, leaving him in their protection while she serves. She has no titles, but by standing beside Gustavo and helping him to succeed, she has a great deal of security. Importance is placed on the connection between power and safety.
Plumbeline, if she is Amangeux’s daughter, would’ve been five when she was placed with her adoptive father. She would know who her mother was, some of what lead her to do the things she did. She spends her life in her father’s shadow, serving as his advisor and subordinate. She is competent and cunning, but can never rise to the heights her father did, because Amangeux gave her to the Uvanos to be safe. Plumbeline grows bitter, and after her fathers death betrays Gustavo’s closest friend in exchange for the title of emperor, achievable only because of the turmoil caused by the war in Candia. The Concorde is is thrown into terrible danger, but she is it’s ruler. She invovles herself in a war against powerful people, makes them her enemy, and is killed brutally when they retake their homeland. She trades safety for power, and pays brutally for it. The lessons her mother learned during the ravening war are for forgotten, and Plumbeline dies. If Amangeux is still alive during the events of A Crown of Candy (which she easily could be) she sees the security she bought for her daughter at a steep price set aside, and her only child killed.
It’s compelling!! Plumbeline being the wine grape is totally possible based on the evidence, the time frame, and it makes for a really interesting tragic storyline for the family du Peche. Even if they’re not related, the parallels between these two fructeran noblewomen is real cool! The writers of this show are great omg :p
(also the relation between gustavo makin this whole important cocordant empire for the purpose of preventing another another continental war also implies an interesting relationship between power and safety but i don’t want to write a whole nother essay)

It's so great to see how surprised Brennan is at all of Matt's choices with what happens in Brennan's world and how much he likes what Matt does.

just thinking about the devastating nature of the narrative and how in the moment pamela rocks was getting assassinated, as raphaniel dealt the final blow, as he got the how do you want to do this, brennan was still trying to think like. wait, how did i write her death? was i more specific? can this even happen? like something something the creator of the story who already killed her before it even started is now grasping for straws and shocked as his character, in an echo of the same narrative, actually lands the killing blow. talk about doomed by the fucking narrative. i need to lie down.

As much as we and the players and hell even Lou talks about how he has murdered the Rocks family…he actually hasn’t.
Raphaniel’s shatter took out Queen Pamela Rocks.
Karna was the assassin to end Princess Sapphria.
Deli set it up, Deli decided, but Deli did not strike the killing blows.
They talk about this universe as being like Game of Thrones. But the most honest thing this universe has ever said about that genre is how royals and monarchs and warlords can scheme and die in ways that shape the world, but the people doing the actual work to keep the world moving are a little old man slithering along inside the walls of a bureaucracy and a teenager slipping through the shadows.

Obsessed with the reactions from Lou, Zac, and Brennan specifically from every moment after they realize the person they’re assassinating is Queen Pamela Rocks. The pure tear between desperately not wanting to do this because of the previous campaign and knowing that their current characters don’t have enough of a reason not to.

I'm already SO into The Ravening War series
Part of me is already crying "Justice for Lady Queen Amangeux" but that might be Anjali bias.
I love that the young woman is already a decisive spymaster and the older woman is a (seemingly) naive queen. Parentheses necessary given the hints of her secret.
Divided Loyalties, Cameos, and Impending Tragedy below the cut for further spoilers
The Divided Loyalties:
Karna between Fructera and Vegetania
Delissandro between Meat Lands and Ceresia
Colin between complicated Dairy Islands origins and a potential oath to protect Delissandro
Amangeux between queen of Vegetania and lady of Fructera
Charlrock???? TBD, possibly between The Bulb and the Hungry One?
THE CAMEOS:
holymoly I hoped for like one or two allusions and got SO MUCH more! I think Brennan explained the catalyst of the Ravening War in an Adventuring Party episode way back when, so I KNEW what was coming when Tomaté rolled up. And at least 5 named NPCs that we knew of from ACoC.
Absolutely fascinated by Pamela/Pamelia Rocks having a different take on the Bulb, and Citrina possibly making EYES at young Belizabeth? Did I imagine that?
Impending Tragedy:
I feel like Amangeux is on a path of heartbreak/betrayal by those around her. Or maybe she turns crueler and more jaded over time. Imagine if she ends up being Plumbeline's mom - like, hitches her star to Gustavo Uvano to keep power/status, or to ensure that she DOES bear an heir to an ruler, only for that dream to become thwarted by the creation of the Concord?
I'm still trying to figure out Deli's family tree, but we know he's got Ceresian and Meat Lander lineage. His chieftess mom worries about his future and who he can trust, and Delissandro is practically wrapped around Ariana's pinky. We also know that a little over two decades from now, it's not a Katzen leading the Meatlanders - it's Basha Myaso. And Princess Sapphria of House Rocks died from Carnish assassins after working on a campaign for Basha's leadership.
Bishop Charlrock could be a descent into madness, or religious fanaticism of a different nature. He seems like a devout Bulbian, but that weird little mental flash he had - I'm not sure if that's because he was seeing magic of The Hungry One in action, or if it made him flash back to a memory of his own.
The herbs the Bishop recognized are probably secret Cause of Death of Arthur Cardoon, though I did see someone else posit the possibility of sabotaging Amangeux's ability for an heir.
Are Colin and Colton family? Is Provolone even Colin's real name?
Karna has a lot of directions she could go... like, potentially could betray ONE PC in a big way, or has the potential to methodically backstab each and every one of them.

SPOILERS FOR RAVENING WAR EP. 3!!! (TW: GORE)
"Butcher them,"
Raphaniel Charlock calls out to the dark void that swirls restlessly in his chest like a growing tempest, his grip tightening around the Bulbian Relic in his right hand instinctively as he feels arcane power swell in his chest.
He had heard the commotion from the wagon- the wagon containing the figure that the FDA wanted assassinated along the Glucian Road.
He hadn't asked who the target was, nor did he care to know. Whomever these Architects were, they were powerful enough to know what he had done and to puppeteer him to their greatest whim.
All Raphaniel knew was that failing his mission was not an option, not when he had bided his time for this long, not when power was just within reach.
Whoever was within that carriage, whoever was about to withstand the force of his horrific magic was merely collateral damage.
"Do what you will," He says in his mind, squeezing his eyes shut and going to that abyss within himself. He stares out and the ending of all stories stares back at him, its inky darkness swirling and swimming before him with sick amusement.
He can feel the sadistic hum of arcane power thrumming against his chest, urging him to let it take control, let it interfere.
"Come to my aid again!"
And as the command comes from him telepathically, he hears them.
The blades.
The whirring sound of blades itch behind his mind, the screech of alien metal almost sounding like laughter. Amused, pleased laughter as it spurs and dances within him.
He had never asked its name, never asked what it wanted. Perhaps because he couldn't take what the answer might be.
And just as he had done every time this power came from him, Raphaniel shrinks into his elder, fragile form, and exhales sharply as if trying to clear smoke from his lungs.
And as the breath escapes between his lips, the force of this nameless evil escapes with it. With his innate telepathy, Raphaniel reaches out and sees beyond the walls of the watermelon carriage, feeling the life in this place before his spell goes off.
He feels a Candian knight to his right completely collapse within himself, his frosty, coned head erupting and scattering bits of cream all over the carriage. The flicker of life within this young soldier is extinguished before his final breath even leaves him.
'Candians..? They weren't supposed to be--'
Another knight, a butterscotch woman, is hit with his spell, and feels the crackle of the void itself rip into her side, splitting into her chewy body. She lets out a horrified, shocked scream at the sudden pain, shrinking away from an assailant that she cannot see.
And one last faint pulse of life at the back corner of the carriage greets him. Raphaniel gazes telepathically at the final figure, who is hunched over with both arms wrapped around their torso as dark juice seeps into their blue and purple robes.
He reaches out,
and a blackberry looks up so that he might see her face.
And Raphaniel stares into the same eyes that he gazed into indifferently at the Pyramid of Food. She stares back, pupils wide with pain and betrayal.
He looks at the face of the woman who mocked him, the church, and the sects of the Bulbian faith.
And the name flashes into his mind before he can even think of repressing it:
Queen Pamela Rocks,
the sole monarch of Candia.
And in his own mind, Raphaniel screams,
"NO-!"
as the spell pierces the Queen, coursing through her with the speed of needles of lightning. And Raphaniel is forced to watch helplessly as she splits apart and bursts, scattering her blackberry-innards onto the walls of the watermelon wagon. Deep purple drips from the ceiling in chunks, landing on the shoulders of the knights that remain at her side.
And he wants it to end- he begs to sever the connection, to stop the vision,
but the blades refuse.
That power within him that has festered for so long keeps him pinned to the spot, forced to watch on as the Candian knights look down at themselves and see that they are covered in the insides of their Queen.
And he doesn't even have enough control to block out the screams as these knights are overwhelmed with profound loss. Their voices crack as they cry out louder than their candy vocal cords would allow them to, met with the unfortunate fact that they outlived the one person they were sworn to protect with their lives.
He pulls away from his telepathic connection with the desperation of a wounded animal, forcing himself to focus on any other noise than the heart-wrenching cries of the Candians left in the fallout of his failure.
And the only noise that he can manage to hear beneath the screaming is the sound of metal.
Mechanical whirring grows louder and louder, making Raphaniel instantly regret his request.
And he tries to focus back on the screams, tries to listen to the shrieks he has caused,
but the sound of the blades takes over again.
He hears the guttural sound of flesh meeting steel, the ripping of sinew and tendons, the crunch of bone breaking against metal teeth, the gurgled groan of a saw slicing into a throat, the horrendous song of machinery chewing through muscle with a sickening amount of ease-
And his stomach drops as he feels the vision coming, feels his state of being slipping away.
And suddenly, he no longer stares at the massacre he has caused, but stares into the whirring maw of death itself.
He watches the blades spin faster and faster as he edges closer to his end. He feels the rush of wind against his face, tinged with the smell of rotting remnants of fruit and vegetables that stain the blades.
Blood splatters against the silver, covering it in a thick slime.
Viscera scatters, guts and limbs thrown around him with wet thuds.
The void beckons as the vision gets darker and colder, consuming him with an embrace that he would do anything to get away from.
But even though he can no longer see the blades, he can still hear them. He can feel them getting closer, itching to shred into his face like it has done millions of times before.
He feels the whip of wind against his wrinkled face as the metal whirls round and round, inches from his visage.
The high pitched shriek of metal scratching against metal gets louder and louder until its all he can hear.
The breath of decay assaults his senses, streaming down his nostrils and throat.
And he waits.
Waits for the blades to bite into his maroon skin.
Waits for the cost pf his hubris to finally come.
Waits for this power to consume him after years of abusing it without thought.
He opens his eyes and sees the metal smile of bloodshed.
He inhales a breath, his last breath,
and--
Raphaniel's eyes snap open as a haunted gasp comes from him, pushing life back into his quivering form. His spindly fingers dig into the strawberry grass beneath him as he heaves in sweet-tasting air, feeling the blades of grass and dirt collect between his digits. His vision pulses as he stares down at the pink grass beneath him, feeling the sting of tears drying against his face as a gust of night air brushes against him.
His breaths no longer sound like breathing, dissolving into half-sobs as he stares down at his hands- hands that should be slick with the black blood of Queen Pamela Rocks, but remain mockingly clean.
'No- no, no-' He thinks to himself, his usually-smiling mouth pulling back into a devastated grimace. The grass slipping between his fingers suddenly feels like the slimy intestines of the soldiers who will die in the battles to come-- battles that he has caused.
He holds in a breath as if it will stop the calamity from coming, watching dark splotches appear in the dirt beneath him as tears drip from his face.
"-Your Eminence!!" A voice shrieks from above him as hands come down onto his quaking shoulders.
Raphaniel looks up, his distant gaze locking with that of Queen Amangeaux's.
"Not like this-" The words stumble from his mouth, completely bypassing the careful filter he usually engages, "Not like this!"
Queen Amangeaux says something, but Raphaniel can no longer hear her.
All he hears is the quiet screams of deaths that have yet to happen.
He thought that the FDA was after power, or status, or wealth.
But he was wrong.
They wanted bloodshed. They wanted loss.
They sent him here knowing the sole monarch of the only continent not engaged in all-out war would be in that carriage.
They set him up to fail.
He will have to answer for every drop of blood that hits the fields of Calorum, every last desperate plea spoken, every prayer issued to the Bulb that was never heard, every name stricken from the face of his world.
And his despair only makes the blades that whirr behind his eyes laugh harder.

A Lost Bat
I know I should be sleeping right now because it is already past midnight from where I am, but I couldn't so here I am.
from that prompt months ago
Selina felt her heart break as the doctor told her the bad news. She stared at the door as the doctor made their exit.
The baby… Her baby… Her own little kitten is gone…
She knew she wasn’t the best fit for a motherly role because of all her nightly mischief. And if this was karma, it’s too much. She unconsciously rubbed her stomach as tears fell from her eyes. She heard the baby cry during labor. Her kitten can’t be dead. She clenched her fists and she felt a little pain as her fingernails dug through her skin. I felt pain. This is reality. Well reality sucks.
She felt a hand on her shoulder and saw a disguised Harley and Pamela looking at her with sadness. “Don’t yah worry Cat, Red and I will always be here with yah, pinky swear.” Harley said, trying to be cheery. She gave the two of them a smile that didn’t reach her eyes as the girls pulled her into a hug. She buried her hand on Harley’s shoulder as she sobbed. The girls just hugged until Selina fell asleep from crying, all three of them, unaware of the woman in traditional assassin clothes watching them while carrying a sleeping baby from a distance.
“The decoy is at place.” A different woman said as she slightly bowed her with respect for the woman carrying the baby. That woman is Sabine Cheng.
“Good. Let’s go.” The woman, Talia Al Ghul, said and walked away as the other assassins followed her.
Back at the hospital room, the currently disguised Poison Ivy scrunched her eyebrows as she felt an odd feeling of being watched. I’m going to ask the plants later. But she definitely forgot to do so because she was busy trying to help console her poor friend.
____________________
In Nanda Parbat, assassins line up and bow their heads in respect as Talia al Ghul walks across the hall to her father’s throne room. Beside her is none other than Sabine Cheng holding a crying baby.
“Silence that thing. Talia ordered as they approached the door leading to her father.
Sabine quickly tried rock the baby back to sleep. The crying stopped as the baby stared at her with intense blue eyes. She hummed a lullaby and the baby smiled at her as her cute little eyes started to droop. Baby Marinette yawned as she stared right through Sabine’s eyes. She felt her heart swell. If only I could keep her.
Because of her focus on the baby, she barely listened to Ra’s and Talia’s conversation. All she heard was Ra’s ordering her to dispose the baby as her parting mission.
Dispose this little cutie? No way! What the League of Assassins doesn’t know won’t hurt them.

Friday Five: Ladies Of DC Comics
I’m fairly certain I’ve already written about my favorite Marvel female characters in the past, so this International Women’s Day, it seemed appropriate to tackle DC comic book heroines. I mean, sure, there might be some sometimes-villains on this list of my favorite DC ladies, but they’re heroic more often than not, and they’re my faves, so I’m going to call them heroines.
Five: Mera
These days, Mera is the queen of Atlantis that the people chose. When she debuted in the comics, she was an outsider they weren’t sure about. Over the years, Mera has been painted as emotionally unstable and a heartless assassin. But that’s just one shallow version of her arc. She’s a strong, capable woman who doesn’t shy away from her sexuality or seizing power. She also generally cares about people and wants to learn about the surface world. I just find her fascinating.
Tumblr media
Four: Catwoman
My first introduction to Catwoman was during the 90s Batman animated series. She was my favorite as a kid, though that changed over time. I still love her today though. I love that she’s an actual cat burglar who operates in shades of grey. She enjoys stealing, but she’s got her own moral code. I’m really looking forward to the graphic novel that explores her teenage years, expanding on the character’s backstory a bit. She’s probably the woman who has had the most on screen versions at this point, but I’ve got to say, Camren Bicondova’s version on Gotham might be my current favorite.
Tumblr media
Three: Nubia
Wonder Woman’s lesser known sister is a long time favorite. The name “Nubia” is no accident as the character was dark skinned. Originally, the idea was that Diana’s mother wanted her daughter to have a playmate, but she made her out of darker clay. Look, there are a lot of strange things going on there, but Nubia eventually became an Amazon guardian of the underworld. She’s been woefully underused in comics, and I want to see more of her.
Tumblr media
Two: Black Canary
The classic Black Canary of the comics gets a little confusing with the daughter replacing the mother and the muddled memories, but the modern Black Canary is all rock and roll, and that’s why I like her. She’s not just a superhero. She’s also punk rock. It makes her modern comics visually very different from those of the past, and I’m glad they seem to be going with the same aesthetic for her first time in live action on the big screen. There’s already been so many versions of her on the small screen that I’m looking forward to seeing what the movies do with her. Honestly, the core of why I like her is the relationships she forms with people - whether that’s Oliver, the Birds of Prey, or a rock band - so she better be good in the DCEU.
Tumblr media
One: Poison Ivy
My all time favorite DC character happens to be Dr. Pamela Isley. (Or whatever variation of her name she uses.) Poison Ivy often gets painted by critics as nothing more than a scantily clad male fantasy, but she’s actually the opposite seeing as how, for the most part, she despises men. She blames men for the damage to the planet, the abuse women receive, and you know, general misery, most of the time. Honestly, who can blame her? At every turn, she’s labeled as an ecoterrorist by some man when all she wants is to the green expand. People forget that she’s a legitimate botanist, not just a villain with supermodel looks. She’s also one of the few people to get Harley Quinn to understand how bad the Joker is for her. Ivy is no saint, and she’s manipulated the few people she cares about plenty, but she’s much more compelling of a character than people give her credit for.
Tumblr media
Honorable mention goes to: Amanda Waller, Killer Frost, and Vixen, all of whom I find to be interesting characters, but ones who really don’t seem to get enough meaty stories these days. Also narrowly missing out on making the list? Lois Lane, Harley Quinn, and Wonder Woman. They’re probably the most popular women of DC these days, so I know they get plenty of love.
Who’s your favorite?

Pokemon Bat
https://jaredmithrandirolorin.blogspot.com/2018/09/pokemon-bat.html
This is an idea for a Pokemon Rom Hack.  I’d like it to be a Third Generation Romhack (Mainly LeafGreen) in-spite of the fact that one 4th generation Pokemon gets name dropped.  I can't make it myself so I encourage someone else to elaborate on the basic ideas I'm laying out here. The region is called Gotham You play as Bruce Wayne, a ten year old.  It is the two year anniversary of your Parents being gunned down in front of you by Pokemon thieves.  After having a nightmare about it you run into the woods behind your house and fall into a cave where you befriend a Zubat, and decide to go off on a Pokemon journey, the Zubat becomes your starter Pokemon.  Your Butler Alfred Pennyworth will function as both Bill and Oak, managing all the PC stuff for you.  And Jim Gordon will play the role of Looker. The rival character is Selina Kyle, who’s starter Pokemon is a Meowth. The evil team in this one is more like Team Rocket, being mainly interested in money as opposed to later Teams that are basically cults.  It is called Team Umbrella, and it’s leader is known as The Empoleon of Crime.  His real identity is Oswald Cobblepot, a trainer of Bird Pokemon who runs a Pokestop called the Iceberg Lounge, that among other things houses the Ice Type gym.  He won’t actually have an Empoleon on him though, this game’s roster should be limited to Pokemon you can use in LeafGreen.  He is particularly obsessed with the Bird Type Legendary Pokemon, which includes the Kanto Trio and Ho-Oh. The Gym Leader of the IceBerg Lounge gym is Victor Fries. The other 7 Gym leaders include, Drury Walker, the Bug Type Gym leader, Lester Buchinsky, the Electric Type Gym leader and Joe Rigger, the Fire Type Gym Leader.  I like including the three filler bosses of the Batman 89 NES game in any Batman video game ideas I come up with. Pamela Isley, the Grass/Poison Type Gym Leader. Jonathan Crane, the Ghost Type Gym Leader. Jervis Tetch, the Psychic Type Gym Leader. Natalia Mitternacht, Dark Type Gym Leader. The Elite Four will be League of Assassins Members, Bane (Fighting type), Onyx (Rock Type) Bronze Tiger (Steel Type), and Lady Shiva (Dragon Type). And the Champion will be Ra’s Al Ghul. Who’s Pokemon team will actually be the Legendary Beasts, Lugia, Celebi and Mew who he mentions was his starter centuries ago.  I feel like that fits his Eco Terrorist agenda.  What I'm doing with Ra's here is the most unprecedented in Canon Pokemon, having any NPC use Legenderies.  (Though in Stadium a Rocket Grunt has a Moltress).  Ra's Immortality is why I feel it works.  It's sometimes implied that Mew is something that wasn't so rare in the distant past.  I thought about referencing that immortality gimmick with an all Fossil Pokemon team, but decided that'd be more Vandal Savage, plus Fossils are all part Rock so don't have enough type variety for a Champion.  The Johto Legendries have been the most strongly tied to the franchise's environmentalist themes so I see them fitting Ra's the best.  Plus in this version of the Unvierse these character are not necessarily Evil. There will be an Unknown cave in the game where they are being researched by Edward Nygma who trains them exclusively, you can battle him but it’s not required.   It’s companion Game is Pokemon Cat, where everything is the same except you play as Selina and Bruce is the Rival.  And a different Origin story, someone else will have to write that.  And Holly Robinson (your friend with benefits) will replace Alfred. I made a conscience decision not to shoehorn in every Batman villain, Black Mask, Two-Face, Deadshot, are all ones that wouldn’t work in this premise.  Sorry @about-faces And that goes double for The Joker.  There are many great Batman stories with no Joker in them.  So given the Joker overload of the Arkham Games I figured a video game Batman universe that opts out of forcing in The Joker would be nice. Those left out can also be viewed as being saved for a possible Sequel.  I was limiting this to the Pokemon available in the Advanced Generation games which are what I’m most Nostalgic for.   It would be easier to come up with a Two-Face story-line in the Black and White Generation where the core Legendary Pokemon are Yin-Yang themed which makes them a fitting target for Two-Face.  Other Pokemon that tend to come in duality themed pairs include Plusle and Minun (the first Pika clones), and Espeon and Umbreon the second Gen Eveelutions who are thematically day and night, (that factors into why they’re used in Pokemon Colosseum).  He could also be someone who only fights in double battles. Hell, thematically the Sun and Moon generation fits my Bat & Cat contrast better with the Mascot Legendaries being a Solar Lion and a Lunar Bat. A Joker based Pokemon trainer would like have a pair of Poochyena/Mightyena as homages to The Joker’s Hyenas, and maybe he'd have interest in a Mr.Mime or Mime Jr.

Will any of these predictions be a called shot?
Bishop Raphaniel Charlrock eventually introduces Belizabeth Brassica to the Ramsian Doctrine, after embellishing the actions of Citrina Rocks to appear as if she is purposely undermining Belizabeth.
Karna Solara kills Sapphria Rocks in Carn in the guise of a Carnish assassin. (Maybe Delissandro has a hand in it, or maybe his demise is part of the cause)
Raphaniel Charlrock's propensity to lie and Citrina's unwavering faith in the Bulb are why her Book of Leaves compels others to speak the truth.
After Queen Pamelia/Pamela Rocks dies, her amulet will be significant.
There will be a surprise NPC cameo that catches people off-guard because of their pre-marriage surname. Hell if we get ANY kind of reference to Battenburg in this prequel I'll be amused.
Look I just discovered some of the details of that last one myself, so throwing stuff under a cut. And ACoC spoilers in an accompanying link.
Calroy Battenburg married Lady Donetta Cruller and took her last name. His father, Johan, was a merchant who received a noble title. Which really recontextualizes his long-term grasping for social and political power. Source: Brennan Oct 2020
